Patolomai Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The sound of bubbles and the gentle ripple of water break the silence of the concluding commercial, but not the darkness. As light and images return to the screen, the origins of the rhythmic flow of water reveal themselves. An underwater landscape pans through the camera lens from left to right. Multicolored stones of all colors canvas the bottom of the massive aquarium. Beautiful fish of various colors of reds, oranges, and whites lazily drift in the current enjoying the serenity and safety of there surroundings. A frail voice begins to speak as the camera continues to pan the enclosure. From last weeks "Hor dourves" video piece the OCW fans and participants alike now know that voice to be none other than Robert McBride, the mind behind the rage of the Samoan behemoth Patolomai. Robert McBride: "Koi fish...the most resilient of fish..he is able to swim against the current and climb the fall according to Japanese legend." Robert McBride: "Another old man said that very same phrase not to long ago, isn't that right yamaguchi!" When the Koi reaches the top of the waterfall, it becomes a dragon(chuckles)." Robert McBride: "You must have forgotten your heritage... Domesticated Koi were originally used in your part of the world, East Asia. How quickly we forget that Koi was a food fish used by your people in the 5th century, no more than modern day carp." The camera stops focused in on two of the largest fish in the tank. With out warning two massive fists explode into the tank showering the lens with a tidal wave of water. As the distortion of the saturated lens subsides the once peaceful habitat is in shambles. The swirling water slows from the violence as few orange and white fish scales drop from above the camera frame. CRUNCH...CRUNCH The camera slowly pans up revealing the horrific images to the viewers. The sheer size Samoan mammoth massive psychic can not even be captured by the lens. Two half eaten Koi remain clutched in a death grip. The mushed contents of the fish drip from the wounds. One fish still has its head while the other the tail. The Camera slowly zooms closer and closer in on Patolomai's face. As he begins to speak scales and bits of meat spit and fall from his lips. Patolomai: MALAMALAMA Matsuda!!. MALEPE will be quick. MALIU will not. MA'ONA, is certain. The scene fades to black as the in audible words trail off in between chews of the Koi sushi. ~~~~~~~~~ Malamalama:To enlighten Malepe: To be broken Maliu:Death of Ma'ona:Satisfied from eating 5 http://images2.layoutsparks.com/1/202284/rose-pedals-falling-animated.gif
