OCWFED Handbook
The Official Handbook for OCWFED Season 19. All of the rules regulations, and how to get started with OCWFED in 2024.
-
YOU MUST BE 17+ TO JOIN ONLINE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
------ ABOUT OCW ------
OCWFED is a hybrid efed and competitive league that has been operating for 19 years (2004). Combining the elements of roleplay, character development and story line elements of an efed, with the competitive play and drive of a league, Online Championship Wrestling has found a nice balance that has something to offer everyone.
OCW is currently using WWE 2K24 for the Xbox One Console and Playstation 4, meaning you will need the game and access to an Xbox One or Playstation 4 to participate.
Please note, you may still play ON a Xbox Series X or a PS5, but we are using the Xbox One & Playstation 4 VERSION of the video game, so please make sure you have the proper game version
If both you and your opponent have the PS5 or Xbox Series X versions of the game, you may play OCW matches on that version instead.
All characters are custom and unique, this is your character, not an established name from the real world or any other established multimedia character. Do NOT use stolen characters that you did not create yourself!
OCW also utilizes the FPR System, or "Fair Play Rules", which allows WWE 2K24 online game play to lead more toward a wrestling match, rather than the nonsense you are used to experiencing in the ranked games online. All players are required to read and know the FPR system, as well as the rest of the rules and guidelines here in the OCW handbook. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
Please, please, please read this handbook very carefully if you’re serious about joining the top e-fed in the world.
In this handbook, you will find the various rules and guidelines, as well as the CAW character creation limits, the Morrison Method to writing and formatting Roleplays, and other useful information.
------ MISSION STATEMENT ------
The purpose of OCWFED is two-fold. Our first goal is to provide a haven for the fans of wrestling online games, giving them a place to play against like minded individuals, in a fun yet competitive environment. While avoiding the ever increasing cesspool of 7 Foot Jeff Hardy Super Heavyweight CAWS, and overall frustrating and exploitative online scene. OCWFED is looking for Online Wrestling Nerds, you know who you are! You can type up an amazing promo, and at the same time put on a match that would make E-Shawn Michael's Weep with pride.
We have been at this since 2004 with a median age of 25. So we have to be doing something right.

------ CAW RATINGS/ATTRIBUTES ------
- OVERALL 80
-
Weight Classes Have Been Rigorously tested and we have opted to forgo the simpler stat caps and opt for a more well thought out class based system. It is our hope that you will diversify your wrestlers to suit your style and gimmick as opposed to pre-washed META stats.
- Hit Point Ratio must be left default 1000/1000/1000/1000
-
Attributes must be realistic to your CAW. If you have questions contact staff.
PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDE IN THE SCREENSHOT BELOW FOR CAPS/MINS FOR EACH STAT AS IT PERTAINS TO YOUR WEIGHT CLASS
Each rating has been assigned a letter grade to notate its importance to that weight class. The top number in the row notates the ’CAP’ or the highest possible rating you can have in that category for your weight class. The bottom number notates the ’MIN’ or the lowers possible rating you can have in that category. The categories in RED are only for the AI and do not do anything in PVP matches, so they are locked for everyone
- For example, Super Heavyweights can have as ARM POWER ratings anywhere between 60 and 85, but BODY DURABILITY anywhere between 70 and 90.
--------
Super Heavyweight
Men’s Weight: 276+ Lbs.
Women’s Weight: 212+ Lbs.
The massive, musclebound Super Heavyweights boast superior offensive attribute CAPs and strength. Their ability to deal heavy amounts of damage in short amounts of time is offset by their weak limbs, predictable nature and incredibly low speed and quickness. They may be lumbering, but you’ll feel it if they get their hands on you.
*Super Heavyweights may not use springboard/diving moves whatsoever.

Heavyweight
Men’s Weight: 241-275 Lbs.
Women’s Weight:143-210 Lbs.
*Heavyweights may only use springboard moves if their 'Aerial Offense' rating is 70.
The true pro-wrestling heavyweights are able to showcase their skills in a variety of ways in OCW. While not quite as varied as a Light Heavyweight, Heavyweights are still able to display strong submission skills and moderate versatility in their arsenal to go alongside their massive damage dealing potential.

--------
Light Heavyweight
Men’s Weight: 206-240 Lbs.
Women’s Weight: 122-143 Lbs.
The jack-of-all-trades class allows by far the most versatility among wrestlers. As a Light Heavyweight, it will be very important for your opponent to know what kind of wrestler you are, as your options are near limitless. Light Heavyweight wrestlers could be anything from a tough high-flyer to a submission specialist, to a striking phenom. While they can’t be elite in any one area, their ability to bring a specialized style in any form cannot be understated.

Cruiserweight
Men’s Weight: 140-205 Lbs.
Women’s Weight: 85-121 Lbs.
Though small in stature, cruiserweights demand respect through their elite high-flying ability, next-level speed and quickness, and high-submission skills. Cruiserweights may be limited in how hard they can hit, but when they can hit faster and more creatively than other classes, they are very hard to deal with. A great cruiserweight will keep you guessing and has some solid variance in styles.

------ PAYBACKS ------
- Wrestlers may use One payback only, Legends get to use Two.
- Using Move Thief is BANNED from use in ANY OCWFED Match.
- Using FREEZE is BANNED from use in ANY OCWFED Match.
- COMEBACK is Champions Only
- The Resiliency payback is unusable at a 85 OVERALL requirement!
Your CAW can and will be subject to random WELLNESS VIOLATION checks from DCAWS (SEE BELOW), and attempts to circumvent the stats cap will result in immediate suspensions from all shows and Pay Per Views.
Being caught violating DCWAS is a serious violation and could result in your immediate termination from OCWFED. We’ve been here long enough and the staff is smart enough to know how to catch/test cheaters. We’ve done it before and we’ll do it again. DO NOT MESS WITH MR. SENSATIONS GOOD NATURE PLEASE.
------ FINISHER/MOVESET ------
Rookies can only use 1 Unique Finisher until they become a Wrestler.
Finishers are claimed on a first come, first serve basis. To Claim or Add a finisher click the following link Signatures and Finishers 2K24 Thread (Updated Season 19)
In addition, alternate ‘numbered’ animations (ie: GTS 1, GTS 2) and all AVALANCE variants of a move count as the move having been claimed.
THIS ONLY APPLIES TO MOVES WITH LESS THAN 6 VARIANTS, things like Superkicks, Suplexes, and DDTs must be claimed individually..
Moves that have been claimed are off limits; UNLESS the wrestler releases their claim on the move or provides you PERSONAL permission (must be noted in the forum post when you claim the finisher/signature)
Exceptions can be made via Staff for those who are less active or who haven’t participated in a while. These are on a case by case basis. At the end of the day use common sense.
Other Finisher/Signature Rules-
- You can ONLY change your finisher or signature twice a year. See the locker room thread for more information. (Try not to change if you can help it, be original)
- Catch Finishers count as a finishing move, you can only have a catch fin if your current fin has a catch ability. If not you MAY NOT USE catch finishers. Your finisher must be the same or at least very close to the catch for you to be able to use it. ASK STAFF FOR CLARITY IF YOU’RE NOT SURE.
- Abusing the “carry” mechanic to hit a finisher is against the rules. Play it safe, just hit your finisher the normal way.
- FALLBACK FINISHERS are not something to claim. Just set it to whatever your outside-the-ring finisher or signature is.
- *Finisher and Signature (Finishers more so then Signatures) being used without knowledge or permission in BASE move-sets is not allowed. Staff will not be going through move-sets to find these and Staff will not be enforcing it unless it is reported. Reports are the onus of the offended, If you see your move done by someone and you wish them to remove it, ask them and inform staff with video of the infraction.
- 1st Offense Warning
- 2nd Offense Move Change removal
- 3rd Offense 2 Show Suspension
- To protect those who do not change their movesets often, there will be exceptions to this rule, Moves that have remained in someones moveset and have become staples of their moveset will be excluded. Don't pick a move that is already over as someone else's and expect them to remove it.
Banned/Broken Moves
Some moves in the game are broken and until they are fixed via a patch or a new game release, they will be banned entirely from use in OCWFed. This list may be incomplete. Please do your part by reporting moves you believe are irreversible or otherwise broken to staff.
- Running Sliding Knee Strike - Irreversible as a standing heavy attack or sig/fin. Usable only as combo ender.
Legacy Moves-
These moves are iconic to Hall of Famers past and present, and while they are NOT ILLEGAL to use (If the legend is inactive) do so at your own risk.
Please see HOF Tab on the Signatures and Finishers Spreadsheet (Updated Season 19, CLICK HERE) for details.
<-RECOMMENDED only to use these if you got the blessing from said Legend->
------ CAW UPLOAD GUIDE ------
You must keep your CAW updated on the 2k Servers. Any changes in attire, moveset, attributes must always be logged. So to be safe you should look to upload your caw anytime you update an attire. In addition you must always use the following #tag when uploading your CAW:
- #OCWFED - This upload tag should be used for all your CAW uploads
- #DCAWS - This upload tag should only be used at the start of the season to be cleared, and only change the #DCAWS upload if you change your stats. If suspected of cheating, the upload with #DCAWS will be the caw used to see if your stats within a match were what was approved and expected to be used.
After you're cleared by DCAWS, if you AT ANY POINT change ANY attributes on your character, YOU MUST ALERT DCAWS AND BE RE-CLEARED BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO COMPETE. Changing attributes WHATSOEVER without clearing it with DCAWS first will result in an immediate suspension (maybe worse depending on the circumstance)
It is imperative that if you are actively competing that you keep your CAW up to date for DCAWS testing(see Below), and production purposes, as well as for recording matches. OCW maintains a high level of production and tries to take the extra mile to deliver the best product possible. Please keep the most recent version of your CAW uploaded at all times. Someone might need to use it.
Please remember, playing a match without that CAW uploaded is ILLEGAL and can result in not being booked.
If you use a CAW that is different from the CAW you have uploaded at the time of the match, such as having completely different stats, then the match will not be counted and you will be suspended. ALWAYS KEEP THE MOST RECENT VERSION OF YOUR CAW AVAILABLE FOR STAFF. IF USING A SPECIAL ATTIRE YOU WANT TO KEEP SECRET SEND to DCAWS or STAFF THE HASHTAG.
------ MULTIPLE CHARACTERS/ALTS ------
Rookies may NOT have more than 1 character active in OCW. You must prove yourself and be promoted to Wrestler to be given that right. We encourage stories, character development, effort, and passion, but we want all new members to focus and show they have what it takes before trying to handle multiple characters in OCW.
After you are promoted, you may handle multiple characters. Be aware that new characters introduced into the OCW universe will be treated as rookies and may only have 1 FINISHER until they are promoted.
Proper Season Start & Alt sign up protocol:
- Post in roll call for the new/existing character
- Make a new post in Main/Alt priority if you have Alts
- Have the caw up under #DCAWS
- Post move claims in Sig & Fin Thread (Moves will only be officially claimed if caw passes DCAWS)
Being a part of our weekly shows (RIOT/Turmoil) or PPVs is EASY! You will not be booked to compete on any show if you do not follow any of the above rules or if you’re generally a lazy turd!

------ FPR (Fair Play Rules) ------
FPR, or Fair Play Rules, exist to bridge the gap between the Art of Wrestling and what it is we are provided with the WWE 2K games. Match Ethics has always been a grey area as Person 1 can find an example perfectly acceptable and Person 2 can find that same example preposterous. OCW's FPR aims to colorize the grey area as best as humanly possible. Below is the condensed version of FPR for Season 17. If you would like more info check out the Legacy Section at the very end of the Handbook.
- You may only execute a finisher when your opponent has ONE Red Body Part and 1 ORANGE Body Part.
- Hitting a Finisher before your opponent has 1 red body part and 1 orange body part is an AUTOMATIC RESTART, PERIOD! (very bad do not do this)
- If you are hit with 3 finishers (total) in any match, you must stay down and are not allowed to kick out. (In multiman matches, others are allowed to break up the pin but you are not allowed to kick out yourself.) | In standard tag team matches (not tornado style), this count includes your ENTIRE TEAM.
- Super Finishers can NOT be hit during stuns.
- 'Chaining' or abusing the stun meter that triggers after a finisher lands is not allowed. If you successfully land a finishing move, then rather than attempt a pin, immediately lift your opponent and hit another one, that DOES NOT COUNT as an additional finisher. Finishers only contribute to the total count if they are landed AND the wrestler attempts the pin (or submission if it's a submission finisher).
- While your opponent must stay down after being hit with 3 finishers (see above), if they are unable to kick out normally prior to that limit being reached, you do not need to let them out. Pin them after big moves and keep them on their toes!
- Only caveat to Sudden Death is pinning after a failed pin, whether its a rope break or a kick out, you should not be attempting to win by pinfall off of a pinfall; This should be for flavor only.
-
Submission Finishers are allowed and count as a finisher as it pertains to the finisher count, but you cannot win with them until you have hit an impact finisher and attempt to win via pinfall at least once. This does mean that rookies are not allowed to use Submission finishers, as they are only allowed to have 1 finisher until promoted.
You may only attempt to tap out your opponent with a non-finisher submission move AFTER you have hit an impact finisher and attempted a pin.
- 'Pop-up' finishers are irreversible and are banned from use in match.
- Use of the special meter moves, ’INSTANT RECOVERY’, 'POSSUM MOVE/PIN' or 'RING ESCAPE' is NOT ALLOWED at any time on the outside of the ring or any time after ONE of your body parts has turned RED. Use at your discretion otherwise.
- You MAY NOT attempt a normal pin if your stun meter is visible unless you have successfully landed a heavy attack, combo or grapple on your opponent. You MAY NOT get a quick reversal and rush to pin your opponent to cheese the meter away.
-
It is possible to 'break the ring' a-la Brock Lesnar/Big Show or Big Show/Braun Strowman by performing a top turnbuckle grapple as or on a SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT in a singles match.
THIS IS BANNED. DO NOT DO THIS.
Lifting your opponent onto the top turnbuckle and performing a grapple in that state could trigger this late in a match, so play it safe and just don't do these moves if you're playing as or against a SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT.
- Do not spam Taunts. Use in moderation.
-
When your Opponent is on the ground, you can attack your opponent 2 times before you have to pin them or pick them up. The following attacks all count as (1) of your 2 ground attacks: Ground Grapples, Submissions, Heavy Attacks or Spring Board/diving Attacks. You may also use light strikes, such as stomps. 3 Stomps = 1 of your 2 grounded moves.
(KNEELING, SITTING, and CORNER SEATED are grounded positions).
After 2 ground attacks, you must either pin your opponent or pick them up and continue your offense from a standing position.
- Do not abuse ANY of the game’s mechanics. Vary your offense and do not rely on any one position/attack/grapple/etc.
- Use OCW Discord, Xbox Live or PS4 Network, or The Forum to keep in touch with your opponent(s).
- Communicate with your opponent if you think a rule or issue may arise, speak to staff. Do not keep quiet if you believe there is an issue. We all need to work together to maintain good FPR.
-
Do not Crapple: The act of trying to make it so after you have been reversed or breaker'd that you strike, grapple or walk away from your opponent before they have had an opportunity to capitalize on their reversal.
If you are reversed or breaker'd, your only counter is to use the game’s defensive tools to regain advantage. This means after you have been hit with a reversal or a breaker, you HAVE to use a reversal, breaker, block, or dodge to regain advantage.
Give your opponent a solid couple of seconds to follow up. Don’t just mash the attack buttons to override this.
-
Dodging: You may only dodge one time consecutively. If you attempt to dodge and do not dodge the attack, you may not just keep spamming dodge until your opponent misses, after the first one, you must reverse the move using another defensive tool.
-
You must actually dodge an attempted attack to restore advantage. If you dodge nothing, you must still play defense before counter attacking.
- Breaking either Dodge rule will be considered a crapple.
'PARKERING' is illegal: "Parkering" is the act in which you immediately attack your opponent as soon as they enter/exit the ring to pursue you, before they have a chance to fully get control of their wrestler. Give your opponent space before you engage them when they enter/exit the ring.TAG TEAM & MULTI-MAN MATCH VARIANTS
*Note - In free-for-all multiman matches, pins and submissions can still be broken up by the other members of the match anytime.
STIPULATION MATCH VARIANTS
FPR is unchanged in stip matches EXCEPT for those listed below, please consult a staff member if you have question
Winning and Losing
Matches are to be played competitively first and foremost you adjust your story angle / feud based on the outcome of your competitive match. From that point you are free to make adjusts and liberties as you see fit so long as you and your opponents, had a fair and competitive match.
’REDOS’ or ‘RESHOOTS’ are forbidden. You should be airing the actual competitive match you recorded. Anyone caught re-recording their match to “make it look better” will face consequences. OCW strives to be the best of comp and pro wrestling and part of that is ensuring that the LEGITIMATE competitive matches are the ones reaching TV.
You may add storyline elements to the ACTUAL COMPETITIVE match footage if it makes sense. Keep Story and Television ‘adjustments’ to yourself unless asked by the owner.
Example: Bob and Bill have a match, Bob is awful at the game, Bill is really good. During the match, they insert a ‘cutscene’ that shows Beth interrupting the match and “distracting” Bob. This can be used as a way to storyline “explain” Bob’s defeat, without compromising the integrity of the competitive match.
Keep in mind when doing something like this that the WINNER OF THE COMP MATCH MUST STILL BE THE FINAL WINNER AFTER ANY ADJUSTMENTS.
All in all, just be smart and don’t overdo it.
------ ROLEPLAY ETIQUETTE ------
OCWFed uses a combination of written and video roleplays to build and further storylines within the universe. There are a few things to note before you submit yours.
Remember, keep your RPs focused and ALWAYS maintain a goal when writing. Do not write just for filler. You write to establish your character/feud/storyline. Keep it short and sweet when you can and always make sure you tick the boxes. Remember that not everyone will love everything you do. The best thing you can do is listen to advice and adjust accordingly.
------ GENERAL ETIQUETTE ------
OCWFED can be a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you do not know anyone, or you don't know our expansive history. Here are some general guidelines that should help you along the way so that you too, can mind your… Etiquette. Etiquette. Etiquette.
-
- You may only execute a finisher when your opponent has ONE Red Body Part and 1 YELLOW Body Part.
-
NO INTERFERENCE FROM THE ILLEGAL PERSON in a NON TITLE TAG MATCH. This means leaving your corner to interfere/breaking up pins or submissions/etc. That is not allowed whatsoever in normal tag team matches.
-
You have a 5 count to leave the ring after you’ve tagged out, like real life, this means you can continue attacking your legal opponent or execute further tag team moves with your partner inside the ring within that 5 count. Normal Knockdown and ground attack rules still apply, so be smart.
-
DURING TAG CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES: Each team is allowed ONLY 1 Interference. After that, your partner is on their own. This gives each Tag Team one attempt to break up a Pin/Finisher/spot. After you have used your 1 interference, you can enter the ring, and move toward the pin to improve the match visually, but you cannot interrupt the pin attempt if you have already done so.
- This does not apply to tornado tag team matches, where you can break up as many pins as you want in title and non-title tag matches.
-
LADDER MATCH
You MUST hit ONE finisher BEFORE you attempt to win the match by pulling down the title/briefcase. You may attempt to go for it to make the match look better, but you cannot pull it down until you’ve actually hit a finisher on your opponent
-- Tag & Multiman Variant/Future Investment --
As in all multimans, you can hit a finisher on an opponent that has one RED body part and one YELLOW body part.
You MUST hit ONE finisher on any opponent before a victory can be attempted. You may attempt to go for it to make the match look better, but you cannot pull it down until you have hit a finisher on any opponent. Once a finisher has been executed on any opponent, that person may win the match by pulling down the title/briefcase.
Once EVERY member of the match has at least TWO red body parts, everyone is free to attempt to win the match, even if they have not hit a finisher.
-
TABLE MATCH
You MUST hit a finisher BEFORE you attempt to win the match by putting your opponent through a table with a non-finisher move. You may win the match with a finisher through the table, provided your actual finishing move is the one that puts them through the table (this includes “table finishers”). If you’re trying to put them through the table with a non-finisher move, you have to have already hit a finisher before that.
-- Tag & Multiman Variant/Splinter Fest --
As in all multimans, you can hit a finisher on an opponent that has one RED body part and one YELLOW body part.
You MUST hit ONE finisher on any opponent before a victory can be attempted. Once a finisher has been executed on any opponent, that person may attempt to win the match by putting an opponent through a table with any move.
Once EVERY member of the match has at least TWO red body parts, everyone is free to attempt to win the match, even if they have not hit a finisher.
-
STEEL CAGE MATCH
You MUST hit a finisher BEFORE you attempt to win the match by escaping the cage. Standard Sudden Death rules apply if you’re attempting to win via pinfall or submission.
-- Tag & Multiman Variant --
As in all multimans, you can hit a finisher on an opponent that has one RED body part and one YELLOW body part.
You MUST hit ONE finisher on any opponent before a victory can be attempted. Once a finisher has been executed on any opponent, that person may attempt to win the match by escaping the cage.
Once EVERY member of the match has at least TWO red body parts, everyone is free to attempt to win the match, even if they have not hit a finisher.
-
LAST MAN STANDING MATCH
Standard rules apply, if your opponent cannot answer a 10 count at any point, that’s on them. No finishers must be hit.
-
IRONMAN MATCH
Standard FPR rules apply. Damage resets -1 color each time a fall is scored, so keep that in mind when attempting a finisher, as the color rules are still in effect. If someone goes back to orange/yellow after you pin them, you MUST get them back to red/orange before attempting another finisher, per the rules.
-
BERMUDA TRIANGLE TAG TEAM MATCH
Luchador rules - 1 person from each team is legal at a time. No tags need to be made, when one person leaves the ring (willingly or unwillingly), his/her partner will become the new legal participant.
Standard Tag Match FPR applies.
-
BRITISH RULES MATCH
Use an ironman or 2/3 falls match in-game to do this. Standard singles FPR applies.
There are FIVE three minute rounds. Communicate with your opponent, preferably in voice chat, while you record the match to stay on the same page. Once a round ends, retreat to a corner and take a brief 5-10 second break before resuming the action.
A fall (pin or submission) ends a round immediately. 2 falls earns an immediate victory. If both participants have the same number of falls at the end of round 5 (either 0 or 1), it goes to judges decision. Use your discretion to decide a winner. Contact JCS or Jake if you cannot agree.
EDITORS NOTE: You MUST include a timer as well as a round indicator when putting the match together. We must be able to see the timer and round at all times.
-
GAUNTLET MATCHES/PERFECT CIRCLE/MULTIPLE MATCHES IN ONE SHOW
Record each match SEPARATELY.
You start later matches -1 color to whatever you ended the previous match. Example:
If you finish match 1 red/orange, you would start the next match orange/yellow.
-
We are working with the tools the game gives us. If you are hit with 3 finishers in a single match, let it go, put the controller down. The game gives you a variety of defensive tools and no reversal limits. We are here to put on fun, entertaining matches, not watch egos get in the way of OCW shows. Submitting matches that break this rule will result in action being taken.
-
Example: Bob and Bill have a match, Bob is awful at the game, Bill is really good.
-
You may not use homophobic, racial or ethnic slurs of any kind.
-
Profanity is not explicitly outlawed, but be reasonable. No excessive or pointless profanity. Don’t include 40 expletives in your segments just for the sake of profanity, it makes you look like a child.
-
You may NOT “kill” another wrestler, person, or animal in your segments
-
You may NOT use any other OCW Wrestler/manager/character without his or her permission. Work with your fellow players on roleplays and segments they’re involved in.
-
Check with the person you’re working with to ensure they’re okay with anything you’ve created that includes their character. Work together on everything! Cooperation is your best friend.
-
Remember, keep your RPs focused and ALWAYS maintain a goal when writing.
Etiquette. Etiquette.
-
Be respectful: You are new here, be proactive, learn the lay of the land. No one cares where you came from they care about what you can do here, and what you can add to the locker room and the product.
-
Take a joke!: Chances are as a newbie someone is going to rustle your jimmies, it’s a part of life. Just remember you can always kick that person in the mouth during a match or drop them on their heads. Most of us are here to banter and have fun.
-
Respect Time: The fastest way to earn a bad reputation is to be late! Be it with content, with matches and with other players. Don't waste our time, and we won't waste yours.
-
Communicate: You have the forum, the OCW DISCORD, Private Messages, Xbox Live, PSN There is zero excuse for not being able to communicate, so please do not use that as an excuse.
-
Accept Criticism: Nobody’s perfect, most of all you!, so if someone pulls you aside or calls you out on something, if they are on the ball, you need to grin and bear it… ESPECIALLY if that person is a veteran/staff member. If you get called out and believe that criticism is wrong, contact a member of staff to double check.
-
Have Fun: OCWFED is what you make it, if you sit on your laurels and expect to be pushed, and booked constantly you are going to have a bad time. This is a community founded 16 years ago. This is a community that has produced over 1500 (check the archives) events. We have history and we want you to be a part of it. So enjoy yourself!
-
Dual Fedding: Is incredibly frowned upon simply due to the fact the requirements of OCWFED are enough on their own. We cannot tell you what to do in this regard and it is not our place to tell you where you can and cannot compete, however if you attempt to without contacting staff your account is liable to be deactivated or at minimum your card priority will be placed at 0. If you need be exemptions can be made contact the owner.
- Don't be a dick: We have enough of those!
-
------ THE MORRISON METHOD ------
Designed, perfected and named after OCW Legend Mad Michael Morrison, the Morrison Method is a formatting guide for Roleplays and other segments that keeps the overall style of each show consistent and easy to read. All written content needs to follow the Morrison Method.
The Morrison Method works as follows:
- Actions, and Names are in Bold:
- Actions Example: Mr.Sensation throws a cup against the wall.
- Name Example: Mr.Sensation: Well well well, if it isn't Paul Pugh, and the sissy express.
(Quotation marks are NOT NECESSARY when a character is speaking, it’s assumed when you use the Morrison Method correctly)
Full Role Play Example:
As the last match ends, the camera pans to the back. We find the CEO of OCW Mr. Sensation at his desk yelling into a phone. Just then Bobby Minio walks in.
Bobby Minio: Bossman!!!
Mr.Sensation: Not now Bob, can't you see I'm yelling!
Bobby Minio: Well you stink!
Bobby Minio quickly exits as he slams the door, Mr.Sensation is enraged!
Mr.Sensation: CHINLESS JERK WEASEL!
Mr.Sensation throws his phone at the door shattering it!
The Camera Fades to the next segment!
(If you need any help working with the Morrison please contact
Tiberius Dupree, Nate Ortiz, Mr.Sensation or if needed Quartz.)
------ GETTING BOOKED IN OCW ------
A common question in OCW for Rookies is "How do I get Booked?!". The process of booking is quite simple. In order to get noticed and teach us a little bit about your character, please post an introductory ROLEPLAY using THE MORRISON METHOD!!! in the PROMO ROOM SECTION. or Even PLAYER NEWS for updates on your character. This gives us an idea of your character and what you can bring to the table, this also opens you up for critique and guidance in how to begin your journey.
Being proactive assures us you are ready to be booked IE posting content in the Promo Room, interacting in the Discord, getting cleared for DCAWS and overall showing us that you are active. In this way you are the master of your own destiny in OCW it is all up to you!.
If writing isn't your forte or you aren't comfortable writing, you can always submit video content IE a hype video for your impending debut. Once again taking initiative is the only way to succeed in OCW. Nothing will be done for you. You have to put your best foot forward and initiate your own journey!
Lastly, if you require help with character development you can ask around on the Forum, the Discord or even by private messaging staff if necessary. Be respectful however, you are more likely to get help if you are polite than if you are entitled, or a raging dickbag. You can also get quicker help by contacting TIBERIUS DUPREE or if needed Mr. Sensation.
Show Cards are posted approximately 10 days before the show airs, and will be posted in the MATCH CARDS section of the website, the #ANNOUNCEMENTS section of the Discord and on the TWITTER FEED for OCW, as well as always being posted on the CALENDAR, found here: http://www.ocwfed.com/forum/calendar.php
There is no excuse for not knowing what show is upcoming.
------ SUBMITTING ROLE-PLAYS, SEGMENTS, VIDEOS & MATCHES ------
(Late Submissions will not be used) (deadlines for shows are posted on the calendar section of the site at the bottom of the forum, on the sidebar of the forum and in the front page of the website ocwfed.com.).
Event Roleplays, video submissions/segments, and Matches should be submitted in the Submissions section of the site using the proper subsection, (Riot, Turmoil or PPV) in a timely fashion. That is to say BEFORE the deadline, this year we will be much stricter on enforcing deadlines. If written content is not in on time it WILL NOT be used, if a match is not in on time it WILL NOT be used. When you submit a match or Roleplay you should use the Morrison Method(see Below) in addition the name of the thread should be as such;
[Name of Show], [Date], [What this is]
Your Submitted Thread should look like the below.
Riot 401, Week of 12/12, Mr OOC Promo <-- Typical RP Submission Example
Turmoil 203, Week of 5/12, Big Willy Hype Video <-- Typical Video Submission Example
Wrestlution, Week of 02/23, Mr OOC vs Parker MATCH <---- Typical Match Submission Example
For promos it would be appreciated if you posted where you would like the promo to appear on the card, REMEMBER, not everyone can open and close the show.
The Deadline for TV shows (Riot and Turmoil) and PPV's will be posted on the card each week, so make sure to check it in case it has changed for any reason!
If you need to record a match, but do not have a capture card, there are plenty of ways in modern gaming to record footage without one. If you’re on Xbox, you can utilize Twitch.tv or use a USB 3.0.
The streaming method is the most common and it’s extremely easy.
Create an account on TWITCH.TV and afterwards, make sure your account is set to automatically record all live streams as VODs (Videos on-demand)
You simply need to begin streaming before your match, play the match, and go to your account on Twitch.tv and download the recording of that live-stream. We recommend deleting the recording from your account after you download it to your computer to ensure nobody can view your match before the show airs.
------ GENERAL EXPECTATIONS ------
PLEASE NOTE: That failure to show up for matches or overall inactivity while in "Rookie Rank" will result in your Discord Account being moved to "Friends/Fans". It's nothing personal but we can't afford to waste time with those who are not able to be active. Also note that you can contact the Discord Admin Mr.Sensation and he can Reinstate your account to Rookie status when your schedule allows.
First and foremost, you have to understand that you HAVE TO PUT IN WHAT YOU HOPE TO GET OUT of this community. When you contribute, this community, and this hobby, really does give back. You'll make friends and gaming buddies, and you'll get to have a place to be creative, have fun, and kick a few asses.
Everyone has to contribute! If you're not writing, if you're not making an effort to be a part of the shows, you will not get booked on the show. Getting booked in matches is reserved for people who are making an effort to be on it.
If you are Main Eventing a Riot or a PPV, you are expected to contribute Main Event content, in effort, quality and quantity. If you are wrestling on a show, you should have segments on that show. Build up to your match, make people want to see it, and have some consequences or aftermath if you can. A match is an opportunity for a story, no matter how big or small, do not pass on that opportunity. We are all here to contribute to a super fun show and no matter how small you think your part is right now, every bit helps towards that goal!
If you have skills that could help in other aspects of the OCW, tell somebody, offer those skills up, contribute. A lot of people do. Some people are handling the social networking fronts, others design graphics and attires, others edit videos... If you have some cool skill, chances are the fed could use it.
Make sure you are getting in touch with your opponents within a reasonable amount of time. Everyone here has jobs, lives, significant others, children etc, RESPECT EACH OTHER'S TIME. If you see you are booked against someone, reach out immediately and start scheduling a time for the match that works for both of you. We have players from a number of different countries, so time frames, especially during the week, do not always match up. Leave no room for last minute error.
If you have recorded a match, get that match edited and uploaded through something like Dropbox or Google Drive and submit the link inside the submissions thread.
Downloading and uploading a match takes the staff time. Putting a show together takes a lot of time. RESPECT THE STAFF'S TIME. Getting these things done within a reasonable time frame will allow us to correct any errors or mistakes that might come up.
We watch the shows every week together as a community in the Discord Viewing Party if you want to join and experience it live. You’re also free to enjoy the content on your own time!
Be cool. Have fun. Wrestle your asses off. Write your fingers off. Get over.
