Nathan Carter Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 The camera pans across the OCW Arena, traffic bustles in the distance as a single car pulls up towards the back. Most certainly nothing fancy, it stops as the driver pays the meter man and drives into the lot. His foot crushes a freshly fallen leave, as he exits the car. With a sigh of doubt, and yet, a determined look on his face, he marches forward. A sudden cut of the camera puts us inside the back halls of the arena, as the new guest is searching for something on each door. His name, he was looking for his name. After a few moments of corridors and sharp turns, he arrived... "Nathan Carter", the sticker displayed. Nathan Carter: "Spared no expense." He smirks as he slowly opens the door. A folding chair, a single locker, and a case of bottled water was all that occupied the room. He sat his bag down next to the water when there was a knock at the door. Outside Voice: "Mr. Carter, we are here to give you the tour." With absolutely no urgency, he opens himself up a bottle of water, and proceeds to take a very long drink. Another knock echoes through the room... Nathan: "Coming." He walks up to the door and opens it, slowly, cautiously, knowing damn well how these situations play out for newcomers. In the doorway he spots the commentators of the OCW shows, Charles Scaggs, and 'Big' Al Poling. He stands inside the doorway in awkward silence. Scaggs: "We are here to show you around." Poling: "Yeah, that's how we get to know new talent." Scaggs: "So we can talk better about you on the TV!" Nathan scratches his head, and smiles as he gets an idea. Nathan: "Well, a quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so, I'll have Pecan Apple salad with chicken." After moments of standing in silence they go off, ordering stagehands to get the salad. Nathan closes the door, opens his bag and pulls out a camera. While it's nothing fancy, Nathan does his best to find the perfect place to set it. After pulling out a small towel and placing it over his head, he turns the lights off, leaving only the light of the camera. He stands before it, takes a deep breath, and hits RECORD. Nathan: "The time has come... I have searched high and low for a place to call home. Not one of the many I have come across have been worthy, can this be the one? I see emptiness, I see doubt, I see fear. I see multiple champions sitting comfortably at the top of the mountain, the belts tied securely around their waists with the assistants of others. Times are changing. " He adjusts the towel as it slides, and continues on... Nathan: "This place, this business, this...state of being, it needs to be revived. It needs to be reignited, and that is why I am here. I'm not one to be swept up under the rug, I'm the one who has been watching. Waiting. Anticipating. For the moment of a lifetime, to change the face of this business, and to turn heads here in OCW!" Nathan: "Changes are coming, and a new era of entertainment will sweep the wrestling nation. And the one leading the charge? You're looking at him. Nathan Carter. A second generation superstar, a champion across many federations. And I have finally set my sights here. I hope you're ready." He hits the record button again, pulls the tape out and walks to the door, almost expecting the knock that followed. He opens the door and the two commentators from before, stand there again, this time with food and drink. Nathan: "Take this tape, give it to your production team." Scaggs: "Ummm... okay, anything else?" Nathan: "Yes... the salad." He takes the salad and closes the door... 7
