Ryu crosses his arms in the middle of the now bustling second floor of the Pepperton Dungeon.

 

While normally this space would serve as a meeting room for the patriarchs of the Pepperton family to discuss their students and how best to proceed with their training; today it serves as the headquarters of the Matsumoto Campaign.

 

Ryu looks out at the wrestling trainees turned campaign volunteers making phone calls, a smile cracks on his face at the sight.

 

RYU:

Don’t think your volunteering is gunna make me go easy on you during training tonight.

 

RYU:

So help me God, if I catch any of you slacking I’m gunna let Wes stretch you.

 

The trainees laugh along with Ryu at the joke. However as he turns around he hears a strange commotion coming up the steps.

 

Before he can process what’s going on he is met by the ever offensive Rufus Rukusingston the THOID.

 

RUFUS:

There he is! Trash Matsumoto if I’ve ever seen him!

 

Ryu raises an eyebrow and greats Rufus with a handshake, then pulls him in for a hug.

 

RYU:

What the hell are you doing here?

 

RUFUS:

Well, you done asked OUR HERO Mugen for a suggestion on a Campaign manager, and he asked the Hoots, and Master Tiberius Octavius Dupree sent me.

 

RYU:

That son of a bitch, of course he did. Well I suppose it could be worse. They could have sent Ron Portman.

 

RUFUS:

Damn skippy! I’ve already scheduled some fundraisers and appearances for the campaign.

 

RYU:

Nice! Just send all the info to my phone, and then I can forward the info to the boys making the phone calls.

 

RUFUS:

There's just one thing we need before you start making appearances.

 

RYU:

What’s that?

 

RUFUS:

Your family should be there, you know, your wife and kids.

 

RYU:

… oh dear… you do know she doesn’t publicly associate with me right? Our marriage is more of a private thing.

 

RUFUS:

That was wrestling, this is politics and for politics people need to see your happy family!

 

RYU:

Oh god… I’ll talk to her, but I have a bad feeling about this.
