I’m HIM (Introduction to Henry Danielson)

This interview was conducted a day after Henry’s Debut

 

The camera slowly pans down onto a run-down, old, weathered home with the garage door opened and three men inside. Two are in the background joking around, watching the third man lift heavy weight on the bench press. Around the corner comes two camera men, and an OCW affiliate interviewer. The two men standing in the background cautiously reach into their pants, but the man on the bench motions for them to relax. The interviewer slowly approaches to conduct an interview.

Her: H..-Henry Danielson?

 

Henry sits all the way up on the bench and looks at her

 

Henry: What’s good with it? How did you find me?

 

The interviewer looking stunned by the living conditions she sees, unable to answer his question.

 

Henry: Not what you imagined is it? This is where I come from, this is what I called home. A one-bedroom home with three people living inside, struggling to make it. My mom, rest her soul, working three jobs to keep the lights on in this mess. Working her ass off to me a chance to become something great, sacrifice after sacrifice, constantly asking for help and being rejected from people in suits who could give a damn about us. You may ask youself, why not leave HD?

 

Henry looks back at his guys

 

Henry: This is where I feel the most comfortable, I love being in the trenches, these trenches taught me lessons, these trenches made me great, these trenches taught me how to be man when my absent father couldn’t…

 

The interviewer starts to look uncomfortable

 

Her: Henry, I’m so sor-

 

Henry angrily cuts her off

 

Henry: I don’t need your sorry! I don’t need your condolences! Where were you when we were sitting in this piece of shit house in the dark, because the heartless bastards came to the house and turned our power off!? Knowing there was a small child who needed to keep warm inside, where were the kindness then? This is exactly what I’m talking about, nobody gives a damn about our community, people only come through here when a life is taken, or they need someone to make a fool of themselves on camera for a laugh. When I finally got my chance to leave, I couldn’t take it! Mama was sick and could barely move around. What do I do? Stick her in a home? The very woman who sacrificed for me? Hell nah, I had to watch my full ride scholarship for University go up in smoke. Once mama passed, I knew it was all on me. Any kind of hand out wasn’t coming to me, I wasn’t good enough, people in big businesses in important positions don’t come here. F**cking cowards, they make me sick, heartless scum. While everyone else was living a joyous, happy life, I was stuck here working. While they were enjoying their sleep at 3am, I was working. They were having a great Christmas morning with family, opening presents, and I was in the gym working. Thanksgiving, they’re sitting around the table, with a face full of greed, loving faces all around them…and I’m in the trenches, with my mom in the dirt…working…working my ass off for this chance in OCW. As I entered the ring last night, the crowd was echoing, “You deserve it!” “You deserve it!”, I don’t need your validation! I know I’m great! Of course I belong here, this wasn’t given to me. I never received my father’s validation, why would yours mean anything to me? You don’t know me. I’m HIM.

 

The interviewer looking unsure of herself

 

Her: Henry…why are you here…in OCW?

Henry: I’m here to show everyone The Clearer Picture…

Her: And what exactly is the clearer picture Henry?

 

HD lays back on the bench, un-racks the weight, and gets back to working out, leaving the interviewer standing there. The two men behind him approaches them and ushers them out of the garage, away from the home, as the camera pans away to a struggling community in need.

 

(For reference Henry Danielson, or HD is a play on words. HD usually means High Definition. Which is why his sig is called “The Clearer Picture”, his other sig is named “1080ppp”, being that his sig contains the 3 german suplexes. Then his finishing move is called “Caught in 4K”. So, just tryna help everyone make sense of that.)
