OCW 24: "Yuki no Bourei" An Aisu's Saga. (IV)

PART IV – THE ASCENT TO THE SUMMIT (2007–2008)

By 2007, Aisu was no longer chasing recognition. Recognition was chasing him.

His war against Kuro Oni and the Black Dragon Army had made him the heart of SPW. Yet one obstacle remained: the World Heavyweight Championship.

That championship belonged to Takeshi Ryoma.

The two men had entered the dojo together in 1995. Now they stood on opposite sides of destiny.

Ryoma represented the soul of SPW.

Aisu represented its future.

Their championship match took place in 2008 and lasted forty-two minutes.

It was a masterpiece of endurance, psychology, and technical wrestling. Aisu spent the entire match targeting Ryoma's right arm, slowly removing every weapon from the champion's arsenal.

But the power of Ryoma seemed too much for Aisu.

After hooking both his arms, he delivered the "Dragon Impact", Ryoma's ultimate Piledriver.

Aisu kicked out at the last second.

In the final moments, Ryoma had nowhere left to run.

Aisu locked in the "Frozen Cross" for the third time.

Ryoma tried to reach the ropes a final time.

Then he tapped.

For the first time in his career, Aisu became SPW World Heavyweight Champion.

The Warrior of Frost had reached the summit.
