The Dust Settles on the Battlefield

Featured Replies

Dragana Cesar meditates on the rooftop of the Cesar Dojo. She tunes out the sounds of traffic and angry New Yorkers yelling at each other; instead focusing on her Battlefield match with her best friend, or perhaps former best friend, Terra Daturas. She thinks to herself,

“This was not the real Terra.”

“Was this championship worth sacrificing our friendship over?”

The Pride Champion feels a gentle breeze of cold air brush up against her face. She turns to notice her Troupe mate Elsa Holmberg taking a seat next to her on her yoga mat. The two embrace for a minute.

Elsa: I wanted to congratulate you, but…

Dragana pulls out her phone.

Speaker: I do not feel like a winner.

Elsa: You did what you had to do.

Elsa: ...After what she did to us, do you….hate her?

Dragana looks down and shakes her head.

Elsa puts a hand on her shoulder, a slight smile on her face.

Elsa: You were always so quick to blame yourself. None of this is your fault. Our sister needs time to find herself again. We all go through our dark times.

Speaker: She says that this is not over. I am not sure I will have the strength to confront her again.

Elsa: I know you will. Your strength is what has kept us all together.

The Silent Queen pulls her friend in for a tight hug.

Speaker: How is your eye? Are you still in pain?

Elsa laughs it off, pointing to her eyepatch.

Elsa: You should see what I have to go through in Hollywood. This is nothing!

The two laugh and look off into the distance.
