Here's my notes for Riot 517: 1. Glad to see H2O back in the main event picture following a rocky start to this season. Him being added to the Devil's Night match is pretty much exactly what it needed to become interesting for me again, even if it does render the #1 Contender's Match at the Anniversary Show essentially pointless. Either way, I much prefer the triple threat to the originally planned Heel vs Heel match. That being said, Nomad was once again not on this show except for brief mentions made by H2O and CQC, make of that what you will, but I was disappointed. 2. Good to see Braddock RPing again, but I think the pig's head element worked better in the RP as having him come out with the animal head on felt like a copy of TLBS so if I were you I'd definitely ditch it. I think the crazy tin foil hat man gimmick works well for you so I'd stick with that, you don't need to copy Matteo lol. Your FPR is improving but there's still work to be done, but it was good to see you pick up a win here. 3. Another really decent Dillinger promo to cover for the unfortunate absence of Telos on this show. This is pretty much the standard we've come to expect from Jake which is by no means a bad thing, but I think the general consensus is that we don't want you killing yourself with all this work, man. 4. The follow up to the AWOL break up was great. Both of these RPs made perfect character sense with a drunk and broken Cort contrasted with the calculating and psychotic Shep. I'm very interested to see how Cort portrays this more vulnerable side of his character moving forward, considering how good of a writer he is and how different this is to his usual brash and outspoken self. This was really well done by both lads. 5. I like the Terra Daturas character, and I thought this was an impressive debut match for her against undoubtedly the most over babyface in OCW today in Valkyrie. However, what I would say is if you're going to go for the innocent, assumedly European, eco-friendly babyface female then it is very possible that you could end up being outshone by Valk. I just feel like she's missing something that sets her apart in a women's division very saturated with babyfaces as it is. Anyway, this match was enjoyable and I much preferred this angle in the Heather/Valk feud to the one on Turmoil and I think positioning Valk in this way rather than her being lairy and spitting bars is much better for presenting her as the lovable underdog. 6. I was genuinely really impressed by the Keith Hendrix hype package. I thought the elements from the Velveteen Dream video worked because you put your own audio and visual elements over it and really made it your own. Everyone's been crying out for the Turmoil rookies to get up and produce content, and I thought this was a great start for you. As long as you can keep up this quality consistently, and keep on adding little bits to your character, I think you'll be fine. 7. Booby once again with a stellar segment as he gets himself involved with the fight back against TTT, perhaps giving credence to what CQC came out on this show. The delivery on this promo was superb and I'm excited to see where this goes from here. 8. The main event was fantastic as you'd expect and it was a nice surprise to see Tobin back. Drago continues to be on top form and picks up the win here at the expense of Tobin and closes out the show in tremendous fashion. Overall, this show was fine but nothing to write home about, more of the usual essentially with a couple of nice character and story developments. The matches were fine but not loads noteworthy happened, however, a PPV worthy main event really rose the bar of this show at the end. My Grade: 7/10

LOL I'll definitely make sure we mix up our RP structure more from now on so we can do our bit to prevent a logjam at the front of the show.
-
Lol, that's a shame. Hopefully the match is good at least.

Following up from writing up my notes from Riot, thought I'd write up my Turmoil notes as well to keep myself up to date. 1. Glad to see Bourne opening the show. FINALLY, something to latch onto with his character. Bourne is quite clearly here being presented as a heel up until Mistico is mentioned, when he gets cheers for being his friend. This could be a really interesting dynamic between you two, I saw you using the Team Hell No and The Bar's old victory motion to put this idea across, but if I were you I'd start writing up RPs explicitly mentioning that this is how the fans view you both. It could lead to some interesting moments, off the top of my head I can think of a moment where Bourne wants to use a chair to attack someone while the ref is done or after a match and Mistico stops him, but I digress. Anyway, keep up the consistent RPs and this impending feud with TLBS could be a good start for you. 2. Just being honest here, I was kind of bummed to see that a diss track on Heather Angelo is where you wanted to go with this feud. The angle from last week was so killer and while this was genuinely well written and entertaining, I think there has to be a line where I'd want to keep it serious for this one. Think of it this way: Valk has been kidnapped, tortured and is constantly being hounded by Heather and just as the rivalry is reaching boiling point she writes a diss track with Eminem??? Idk, this was entertaining to read but I just feel a bit inappropriate for the story being told. I am still really looking forward to the match though and I'm sure Valk and Heather will knock it out of the park. 3. Great bit of character progression here for Shep. AWOL seem to have made up, but is that a bit of arrogance coming from Shep? That was something I picked up upon re-reading this bit, Cort and Shep are about to step into the ring with MURDERERS and he's calling them overrated? I really loved this bit on second reading, very nice and subtle character pieces. 4. Benji needs to do more. Like his look, but we need some character! The same could be said for a good few rookies on Turmoil. My advice, as useless as it sounds, is literally just write. Get into contact with each other and just get something down where you can all progress your characters a little bit. It lets everyone know you're still around and can help give you inspiration when you need to write again. 'Oh, I said this to this guy and he didn't like it? Next time we speak, we definitely won't get along!', little bits like that give your character progression and continuity and helps you build up your world around your character. That's my two cents. 5. I am most excited to see Jehst vs Archer 2. This segment was in equal parts creepy and hilarious and really built up the tension for these two to fight even past boiling point. I felt that this perfectly towed the line to where it was not too inappropriate and explicit considering the main topic of the segment, while also building up the audience's hatred towards Archer and eagerness to see him get smacked in the mouth, and in turn the love for Jehst and us wanting him to be the one who does it. I love the angle of them not being able to touch each other until Devil's Night where they will have a TLC match. Also, it made you feel REALLY bad for Elsa, and now I can't wait for her to return and sock someone in the jaw for being humiliated like that. This was absolutely brilliant and I feel it was worth making sure this doesn't go under the radar, well done to both of you and also Jae for making a hilarious cameo appearance. 6. AWOL are no more. I saw this coming as much as I was shocked to see this happen. I really hope we get to see a psychotic Shepherd with an undying will to blitz his opponents with knees and other brutal strikes until they pass out, and refusing to answer to Cort as to why he'd betray his best friend. On a real note, I'm sad to see them split because they were really enjoyable to face when we did, but on a happy note it gives myself and Ant more motivation to step up and try to fill that AWOL-sized gap while we gain experience as a team. Although, AWOL splitting does emphasise how small the Riot tag division is getting. We need more real teams dammit! Overall, this show was solid but nothing particularly crazy, except towards the end of the show where in my opinion things really picked up. Overall Grade: 7/10

I fully see where you're coming from with my matches, for me now it's a bit embarrassing looking back at my play style but as I said on discord it's great that you picked up on it because I did too. With the match against Telos, my focus was trying to optimise the chances I had rather than creating new ones cheaply. I like to think of Doc's speed now as a stylistic feature of his character, rather than something to be exploited. ANYWAY, that's enough about me so let's get on with the notes I made for this week's Riot: 1. Bourne vs Steel could've done with an RP or some kind of progression for either or both of their characters. I like Bourne's look, but it's changed so much already this season and it seems like he's put on 30 lbs since the start of the season. I'm cool with the changes, but it could really do with an explanation. 2. Arsehole Quartz is an arsehole, can't help but give love to Rust though. Really hope he doesn't fly under the radar with TTT with the dominant characters of the other three, love you Frenchy! 3. Bobby Minio will forever be the standard bearer of RP work in OCW. He just has that Italian American sleezeball appeal (so does Capo) that I absolutely love. I'm sure you don't need another rook licking your dick but it's really worth noting how good this man really is at writing. TAKE NOTES ROOKS, I know I have been. 4. H2O vs Cobra - Great to see H2O pick up a win to hopefully get him back on track for the future. Feel like the Anniversary Show kind of derailed a lot of his momentum coming into this season but love to see him back on top with a decisive victory. 5. P3 and TTT go head-to-head to see who can have the most fantastically bat-shit insane segment in the lead-up to their presumed match at Devil's Night. This really worked for the tag feud, but I was hoping to see a bit more from the World Title feud which I assume will be Nomad v Kass in the main event at Devil's Night, aside from the really cool promo Kass cut on this show they've really only been calling each other juvenile names and Rust was fed to the wolves against him on Turmoil. I enjoy the whole New Generation vs Old Generation thing going on, and hopefully something big is planned for the go-home show to really sell this match for me. Ironically, I have faith in the guys to pull it off! 6. A fantastic war of words between Booby and Cort. This again had the feel of a match we all had no idea we really wanted to see, and I sincerely hope this isn't the last time we see these absolute magicians on the mic go head to head. 7. Heather Angelo is LITERALLY Satan spawn. That's one way to get Valkyrie even more over than she is as a babyface. Thoroughly enjoying this feud, such perfect polar opposites a lot like Valk and Stixx were oh so long ago. 8. As I mentioned briefly before, this was a really good, short promo which whether purposefully or not lead on really well from the Valk/Heather bit. This had a really good religious sermon-esque feel to it which I can very much tell you have refined as you have been doing the Kasstianity schtick. Here, I found myself rooting for Kass since this really is Heel vs Heel as the message was short, sweet and powerful. Hoping for more of this on the go home show. 9. The main event lived up so much to the expectation I had from reading the pre match promo. Hats off, enough said. P.S I'm going to try and do these more often, I tend to make brief notes as I read the shows and I think I wrote them up one time before the end of last season. Thank you to Quartz for some really good feedback from my match on this show, and this was another decent one with some outstanding bits. Overall Grade(???): 7.5/10

Hi Mike, thanks for some really nice feedback and I'm happy you got the general impression you enjoyed our schtick. Speaking for myself, a few of my signature moves are named after generally British terms such as 'facer' (where I'm from a facer is essentially getting hit in the face hard by something like a football or basketball) so I appreciate that you may not get those kinds of words being from 'Merica and all. In terms of the attires, I really just felt like keeping it simple would be my best bet because as a rookie you don't want to be obnoxiously over-doing unless obviously that's the shoe that fits, but I think the cool intricate pattern on the tights is more than enough to make the attire pop a little bit. As for Ant, the white shoulder tape is of course to provide protection against aggressive dance related injures and not a naff looking tattoo, and obviously our characters are not set in stone at this point with Ant being brand new to OCW and me having a few months under my belt, mostly consisting of off-season and a few matches here or there. To be honest, I feel like with the royalty-centric move names particularly with Ant is somewhat of a placeholder while he gets a hold of things and can get a bit more creative with his naming of moves, at least I hope! Again, cheers for your time and feedback mate.

This is absolutely awesome, mate. Really well done Jehst!

The scene opens with Doc Green in basic training gear looking on disapprovingly at something offscreen. That would be his newly formed tag team partner, Antonio Everrett, who comes into shot puffing and panting with sweat dripping down onto his T-shirt as he holds his knees exhuastedly. Everrett: Listen,... Doc... You can't... keep putting me... in the ring... with psychopaths... man. Everrett had just got his ass beat in a sparring session with Inness Quartz. The rook desperately points at the emotionless individual who is methodically removing tape from his wrists in the ring. Everrett: Just look at him! Something's not right with him, and I just got killed out there! Way to throw me to the lions, man, and all he did was spout proverbs while he was destroying me. Quartz overhears this and slowly turns to stare daggers into his eyes. Quartz: Your attacks did nothing to deter me whatsoever. Perhaps you may try again when you come prepared. Everrett's bewildered face tells the whole story. The eye contact between the two is broken by Doc as he waves his hand over Antonio's face to get his attention back. Doc: Look, maybe letting you get in the ring with Quartz was a misjudgement on my part so soon, but we're in the same boat here, so quit your whining and let's face it, the only was is up from here. Doc hands him a towel and a bottle of water which Everrett hastily wipes his forehead with before taking multiple large gulps. Everrett: You can say that again. Doc: I can. We're the rooks, remember. If we keep grinding, we'll get there. Kev didn't phase into pixie dust for us not to. Everrett: He didn't die, Doc. You don't know if we won't see him again just yet. Doc leads Antonio to a balcony through some French doors and looks over the horizon thoughtfully. Doc: Maybe, Ev. Just maybe, he's out there somewhere. Everrett: Well damn. Still, he could be- Doc: Indeed. Doc turns to face Everrett. Doc: He obviously saw something in you, Antonio. Otherwise, he wouldn't have led you right to me before he left. This is no accident. Everrett: What isn't? He points at the space between himself and Everrett. Doc: This. Us, you know. Tell me about yourself, Ev. Who are you? Not, like, weirdly or anything, just, outside of my training partner, of course. Everrett: Well, that's not exactly easy to answer really. I mean, I'm a gym rat for sure, uhh, I'm always ready to learn and improve. I've got a lot of raw power and quickness, like a pitbull. Yeah, like a pitbull. As you saw, I've got a ways to go as a complete wrestler but I feel like we'll be ready to go in no time, and there's no one else I'd want to share this journey with, Doc. You said it yourself, we're rooks, but I want to prove myself, even if we don't get it right right away. Doc: Well said, brother. I like that analogy, like a pitbull. Let's keep the faith and we'll see what the future holds for us, Ev. Everrett: Damn straight, put it there. Doc and Antonio share a fist bump and move back inside together to finish their gym session.

The scene opens with Kevin nursing Doc's spine and abdomen following being thrown back-first into the unforgiving canvas with the force of two heavyweight wrestlers. However, both of their minds seem adrift due to such a hectic night of action. Doc: Kev... Kev? PLEASE tell me I was in there longer than fourteen seconds. Kevin's mind is focused elsewhere. He doesn't register the calls of his friend as he cautiously walks the rook into a locker room a short distance from the entrance curtain. Doc (Mumbles): God, that's not the first time I've had to say that. KEVIN! Kevin: Aah! Oh, yeah. What? Doc: Nevermind. Anyway, Kev, I was thinking about our futu- Kevin: I have, too. Doc: Huh? What's up? It's not me, is it? Kevin: (Laughs) No, it's not you. It's actually me, and my future in OCW. Doc: No, Kev. Your future is here, with me; and the crew. It was supposed to be just us, together. Forever. Kevin: What? Doc: What. Kevin: Listen, Doc, it's been really fun hanging out with you, like I feel I have a newfound sense of purpose in my life, and I realised something. I realised it was time for me to take control of my life again. No more toiling in the production truck- Doc: OUR production truck. Kevin: -yes, OUR truck. I realised that I couldn't spend my life in there anymore, it's not who I was meant to be. That's why tomorrow I've got a flight out to LA where I'll be starting my new life. A life where I can finally be free from the confides of this place, as nice as it's been to me over these few months. It's time I became who I was meant to be. Doc (desperately): No, Kevin. It doesn't have to be like this. Who else will I share a beer with? Share merchandise with? Share my life with, Kevin. You were that person, and you're just going to throw that all away, all we had, for what? Kevin: For the chance to be the best ballet dancer in the world Doc, yes. I have to do this, my flight leaves in 5 hours. Doc: No, Kevin. Kevin: Look, I got in touch with someone, don't ask how I found him, I just did. He shares your dreams, Doc. He shares your passions, and most importantly, he's coming to OCW. Doc (through tears): You found a replacement? Someone like you doesn't just get replaced, Kevin. You have taught me so much about myself, about what I'm capable of here, you can't just go now. Kevin gets up and paces to the doorway of the locker room slowly and dramatically, suitcase in hand. He turns one last time to utter his closing words to Doc. Kevin: I see no reason to believe that my work here is not done. Take good care of this individual, Doc, just as I did with you. Be free, brother. Your work will pay off. Prosper. Kevin walks into the distance as Doc helplessly watches on. Then, his view is disturbed by an unrecognised figure, a new face. ????: Hi, Doc, I assume you got the message. Hey, there there, get that look from off your face, I'm your new partner! He rushes over to Doc who is in a heap on the bench. Doc slowly removes his hands from under his chin and takes a good look at him. Nicely dressed, about six foot tall, a bit larger than him but not huge. Doc (sniffling): You must be the guy... Kev... told me about. What's your name,... kid? The kid stands up tall and beams at Doc. Kid: Antonio, Antonio Everrett, and I have a feeling that we're gonna be just fine! Doc: Antonio, huh? Let's get to work then, it's a long road ahead of us. Put it there, Ev. Doc timidly reaches out for a fist bump and Everrett returns it. Everrett: You bet, let's do it.

Really enjoyed this show, cracking first Pay Per View for me to watch live, Discord was the real MVP even though I had my mic muted the whole time; it was really entertaining the whole way through. Some thoughts: - Really enjoying the interactions between Valk and Jackman on their mission to find B-17, even if the timeline is all the way fucked up, great continuation of the B-17 arc to kick off the show. - NEW OCW Women's Champion! I wonder if Drago is going to force himself to admit that Dragana is the better hunter... - Jaime takes an L part 1/3 - Quartz once again edging towards insanity, poor Cohle! Really enjoyed this though, loved Cort sneaking in to CQC's locker solid snake style, keep it up boys. - Jaime takes an L part 2/3 - Another really entertaining tag team bout, if only French Rollins knew his cues, will be cool to see how the Cohle/Quartz dynamic works with Quartz going loony and all that. Go get em lads! - Jehst killing it again with the RPs, we all love you fam. - Cyborg and Telos kill each other for 25 minutes, absolute carnage. Brilliant. Wrex is gonna need his bat back though homie. - Little Bubba just can't edge out the win against ShowBlitz, Cheryl Stixx face turn ????? Okay, interested to see where this goes, the women's division is on fire at the moment, keep it up. - Mugen vs H2O absolute barn burner I have no words, absolutely insane finish, shades of Omega vs Jericho, 5 stars no doubt. - Jaime takes an L finale, how disappointing. In all seriousness really enjoyed this one, not a long match but it didn't need to be, and a really cool finish coming out of nowhere. - Kass vs Spider, interesting finish, great match up to that point, will be fun to see where this goes. In conclusion, really well done to everyone who took part, 9/10 for me no doubts, definitely looking forward to getting involved myself in the future people!

I had asked for Skepta - No Security ( ) as my debut theme, whether or not there was a copyright issue or whatever I don't really know, but not the best debut entrance when I'm trying to get myself over lol. Time to get back to the drawing board to find a new song or a remix I can snag under fair use.

What makes a champion - Doc Young Introductory Vignette
KANG DOC replied to KANG DOC's topic in Promo Room!
Theme song suggestion? I was going for more of a Fall Out Boy - Champion vibe, I suppose Nelly works as well. -
Establishing shot of the New Orleans skyline at midday, which pans and zooms into a shot of an underpass decorated in graffiti with a silhouette of a figure sat against a wall in the background Doc Young (Narrating): What makes a champion? Heart? Determination? The undying will to win, no matter the consequences? (The camera begins to zoom in on the figure slightly) A lifelong commitment to what you love the most, the culmination of a journey that takes you to all four corners of the world, and leads you right (pause) back (pause) here. (Doc Young is now in shot, in a hooded jacket and joggers) Doc Young: Home. (Doc Young gets up and starts walking forward and the camera follows him) Everybody's journey to become a champion has starts somewhere, and your roots are what keep you grounded and instills respect inside you, not only for those within this business, but every single person that plays a part in elevating you and taking you to the next level. (Camera zooms into a close-up shot of Young's face, his tone becoming increasingly fiery) The Young King has arrived in OCW, and I will not allow myself to be disrespected by egotistical maniacs who run rampant in this prestigious company and believe me when I say: I am not here to take part, ((pause), and then calmly) I am here to be crowned champion.
