Sammuel Omen

One of the few moments I've had to sit down and give a thorough review of this card. It was tremendous. AC Cobra is paid for his spot in the tournament So, with AC Cobra winning the title right before the Next Cup, Cobra would have to be replaced. And the story of paying off for the spot is great. I do think if the eventual winner of the tournament is from that spot, I think they'd have to respectfully not take a shot at them while champion, right? Seems a double win for Cobra. Armado jinx counter: Hada vs Bishop - I I I Jackson vs Beatrix - Didn't hear any. Omen vs Lovelace - I I I Junko vs Tre - I I Kamedo Hada vs ???? A Key note on this match, watching the on air chemistry of Jay and Armado start to form was hilarious. This was a very solid match. It was 2 very similar in ring competitors, height, weight, etc. So, this match was going to be a good solid technical match up and it was. Both showcased a lot in the match, which I loved. Bishop stepping over Hada multiple times, Hada with the mist and the fake dive attempt. Good opener. Mad Dawg and Marissa Soft Core Pt 1 In a theme that keep growing, the 1st part of the soft core advertisements. There was some nice attention to detail in the videos. But, this promo, I feel awkward watching it twice. I feel it puts me on some sort of registry. Jackson vs ??? I thought I was crazy when I heard the smoke alarm went off, but it going off twice, gotta be intentional, right? Perl vs Jackson would've been amazing start. But, we instead get Beatrix. The back and forth between Armado and Jay steals the match. This match gave me a feel of desperation from Jackson. Greg showing that he doesn't care about Rope Breaks with this match. Question of the night: "Jay does it hurt more if the guy giving you the headbutt is bald?" SOOO Great. Good win. Love the respect shown from the two at the end. OCW Action Figures GREAT use of AI. This got me excited. Great job on this one. I loved it, so much. Lovelace vs Omen This was my favorite of the opening matches, not because I won, but because I genuinely thinks this match up was the perfect example of what the intergender match ups should've been. Omen threw her around from the start, displaying the bigger person. Shianne plays smaller faster wrestler perfectly. The moveset Shianne came out with the counter the size of Omen was great, despite her getting reverse. I think the best part of the night, but specifically this match, came from when Shianne jumped on Omens back and started scratching his face. It was perfect. Would 100 % work with Shianne again. Great chemistry. Mad Dawg and Marissa Soft Core Pt 2 My only gripe with this segment was it was like 4-5 segments in one. Other than that, it was good. Junko vs Tre I was looking forward to this match up almost as much as I was looking forward to Jackson vs Perl. With the users having a lot of connection between them, I expected really even match up. Training Day Jay mid match gets me going. Too bad this was the last time these two worked together of the night. Armado FINALLY showing life during this match. Just took some Spanish enthusiasm. Greg apparently will look at the rope if a male is getting pinned by a woman. Quartz and Sheldon w/ Cort Marshall I will admit, I don't have any context of Cort Marshall, but this was a good promo. With Sheldon hitting Hot Topic in 2005 and stealing Omen's hair dye, this looks like a cry for help for those times. That being said, I'm wondering what's next. Golden vs Omen I won't touch much on this match. I liked this match, but I think it was the 3rd best match of mine for the night. It was a good solid matchup and Tre and Omen do produce good matches together. Bishop vs Jackson What got me out of this match immediately, was this might be the 1st match I've ever seen with Jackson not doing a pre match shit talk. That kinda gave me a feeling that 'this won't turn out well.' I'm not gonna harp on the needing your opponent stunned to hit a sig. You do you. Kicking out of a pin and losing still, it def set up the finals. I can't complain. Soto v Dragana With Perl gone, there really is only 2 big options for Soto at the moment. And I can't wait to see this turns out. Omen vs Bishop The finals of the first cup. If you were going to find a match that the essence of describes wrestling, it would be this match. You got a smaller baby face, whos defeating the odds and making it to the end. You got the big nasty heel that is just menacing. As a fan of wrestling, it doesn't get any better than that idea. That being said, the match was very close to not delivering. But, it flipped and it flipped quickly. This was an amazing match and Bishop was the right winner. Behind the scenes thoughts I will say, having all the intergender matches in the 1st round, I hate that idea from the beginning. I was worried that all men or all woman were gonna win 1 round and the excitement of the possible matches would fizzle. If you guys did this again, I would def look at a 1 male 1 female and 2 intergender matches in the first round, to guarantee we'd get at least 1 more intergender match in the tournament. Jay going training day on Armado in the opening round, debating Omen's origins, if he shares some stuff with Jackson before the match, asking how to say shit in spanish, for all the hiccups that happened early on in the tournament, the stride was hitting at the end, I hope they do get more chances. Jim and I had predictions on who the last people were, and being that my side of the bracket had no mysteries, The anticipation was great. We both generally agree Bishop was the guy for the men. So, good choice for Cobra's replacement. I will say this, for me, 2k25 has been generally pretty successful. I went into the tournament with 2 mindsets, I either a, NEEDED to win, or b, make it finals and make the eventual winner look great. I think a lost vs Shianne would've been great though. But, when I woke up to a DM from Bishop, the one guy who had pinned me one on one this season, I definitely got goose bumps. I cannot stress enough how much I thought for sure, if it's Bishop in the mystery spot, it would only makes sense. I think the Next Cup was one of the best ideas I've seen. I wouldn't normally get a chance to talk to or even work with a Shianne, or Junko, or Cobra (at this moment, at least) and seeing these matches that aren't JUST matches, made this a lot of fun to participate in. I'm hoping Omen gets invited back in, but it was a great mix of people that cared. I'm sure there is a lot I missed.

EMP Celebrates her Wrestlelution win A good segment to start off with. I like the idea of someone actually being scared of 2 people trying to jump them. Flash running off was great. Age of Anarchy Obliterated by Belakor Okay, Belakor absolutely destroys the tag team. The casual murder attempt of wrestler in the name of BASH. LOL. My issues with this segment are going to be noted in the actual match. Approached By A Professional Ft JynX Nice teaser segment between these two. We didn't get a clean definite finish a few weeks back and I think Marcus deserves a chance to at least definitively lose to JynX. Belakor vs Jacob Hawk Okay, so let's get the elephant out of the way. The video quality was horrendous. I know I have issues with my videos doing a crack or something when I record, so I'm not perfect. But, this was very notable hard to even see the names. The people involved should've watched the video back before sending it. Then, there is the issues that a lot of people harp over, please take 2 seconds to fix the break out huds. I've sent it like that before, and didn't have time to reshoot it. But, the fixes are there, reach out to someone and ask them what they would do. I'm not the best at video production, but sheesh. Okay, let's talk about the actual match. Belakor comes out to what should've been a 10 count no contest as he sent Rayzah to the hospital and tried to murder Hawke. But, not only did Hawke make the match, he came out like nothing happened. IRL, when Matt Hardy was getting jumped and Jeff Hardy came out and danced a bit before making the save, it looked REALLY dumb. Hawke, you were just attempted to be murder, you made a small edit to your caw, great. But, you looked like, in your entrance, NOTHING happened. You just were happy to see the fans. THIS MAN TRIED TO MURDER YOU. That irked me. Just this one time, you needed to come out like you needed to beat this man back. The match itself was okay. It was a match. Hawke's moveset is interesting. Belakor has that choke into... a body splash? I have no clue what that move was, I think it would've looked better if he had more room to rebound, but I'm not hating on it. Hawke's moveset was interesting, and like I said, looks like he plays a defensive style of offense. His moves looked like he was trying to reverse every attack. It was fun to watch though. Nit picking here, but hitting a fin then TURNING around and hitting a dive move that isn't a sig or a fin after, is a real head scratcher. Was really hoping for Belakor to come back and win, but I digress. That's enough on this match. Dare To Dream Ft Skadi Loved the music, but as someone who is partly deaf, I legit was worried my hearing was going by that LONG pause before the text sound on the video. HA. I don't know who this Charles guy is, maybe I missed it. But, this slow play out, I wanted to see more to see what is the long term plan with this. Marisa's Doll House Preview Always great videos from Marissa. The segments are always interesting. Short and sweet and tease for a later segment. Minus One Southern Dirty Cash, Clash SDC takes out 1/2 of the Temple of Boom. Ohh no. WHAT IS TRE GOING TO DO!?!?!! RyVaughn Wants GOLD in OCW! LOVED THE HALLOWEEN OUTFIT. Great Look. Promo started out great, I am here for gold. Everyone, take notice. But, Sheldon has to say something about that. Distracting him enough for QUARTZ!!?!?! Quartz, gets Baker fired and then joins the Crashouts???? THE FUCK!!! Was it all for nothing? COWARD! Zara Dimora Introduction Promo This was a great intro promo. It made me want to cheer you on in your first match. Don't hurt yourself by jumping onto no one in your warm ups. I can't wait for what's to come for your character. Serena La Diosa vs. Zara Dimora I'm gonna focus more on the rookie than Serena for this one. First, the entrance, phenomenal. I'm not creative at all, and seeing the effort in that entrance, I just am in awe. Again, you're winning me over. Love it. I like Serena starting the match out with some chain wrestling. Even if Zara is on the losing end of it, it was a good way to start her career. If you're gonna pop up, POP UP! You live and learn. First half the match was just playing with the rookie, but the 2nd half, Zara started coming alive. Side note: I hate that corner finisher. lol. That being said, Serena does a good 1 - 2 punch with the signature and finisher. Good debut match despite a tough opponent. Flash and Tre backstage A good written RP to explain why Flash is in the match instead of Jubei. The End Is Coming I have no clue what is going on here. I'm interested in seeing who this is. It is a bit creepy. H20 Addresses The World Ft BASH That entrance going to be longer than that title reign, if you keep mentioning OMEN. Wearing a Baker shirt tonight was regrettable. 😉 Congrats on beating BASH, I didn't think anyone was gonna take that title, but I think it's bold to put more targets on your back. Bash and Omen? Not a good choice. Dragana Receives A Mysterious Message Dragana segments are always fun. I don't much about Spider myself, call me ignorant. But, I'd like to see where this is going. Sheldon Tremblay vs. Paul Harris As a personal preference, the Sheldon Ryvaughn segment should've been after this match. The match itself, was a match. 2 vets and heels doing a match you'd expect. But, Ry gets attacked, not taken away in a stretcher, just attacked, and Sheldon is safe. I think having Quartz come out with your OR having the match before the segment would've made more sense. But, good match. Stacy Clark Interviews Skadi Ft Ashely Moore Skadi gets an interview. As someone who is partially deaf, I appreciate anytime subtitles are in the video. That being said, both people had the same text colors. Please, help me out. I don't think I got them confused, but something to consider going forward. Another good teaser of what's to come. The backwards walk made me chuckle. lol. Mugen backstage with Franklin Fucking Rookys. Especially Vegan ones. Mugen rolls a Nat 1 for perception check. How'd you not notice Kareen behind you! lol. Another good segment. The NEW OCW Tag Champs The Lobby Promo A good promo from the tag champs. Seeing Black Magic come out caught my attention. Clickbae vs Black Magic now has more weight on it. Looking forward to seeing where this leads. John Carter's Post Wrestlution Address Another prematch promo to entice the main event. Always enjoy these types of segments. Southern Dirty Cash vs. Tre Golden & Devon Flash Okay, a good tag match between an up and coming team and a team that needed a replacement last minute. So, I had no clue how this was gonna look. It starts off really solid. There was a point in the match Cade Irish Whips Tre into the corner, and as Tre is falling from the turnbuckle, Cade is ALREADY in motion for the leg drop. That's an incredible 1-2 punch. I loved it. Another good spot, Flash getting in running STRAIGHT for Wade and gets caught. The finish was what it should've been. The real tag team getting a W over the make-shift. Thank you to Flash for stepping up. A Halloween Horror Show Ft - Marisa, Junko & Cheryl Another good segment. Felt like Marissa took the backseat on this one, which was weird. You don't normally see this. But, this is a clash of styles promo. Nice jabs at Junko by Cheryl. Broseph Vanderbilt The 3rd Meets IKE!!! BV3! I'm glad we are getting more from BV3 after his match with Scotty a bit ago. I am intrigued by Ike. This will be an interesting matchup. I love the smug character of BV3. Tony Everrett vs. Shepard This was the best match of the night for me so far. It was a back and forth match with both guys controlling big portions of the match. I really had no clue who was going to win. Nice reversal by Sheppard at the end to set up the finisher. Great job guys. Tammy On The Hunt For Junko The fuck was this???? lolol. That was great. Christine's Promo Interupted! New Rookie? I wasn't expecting the British voice, but it works. Good entrance. Deborah's Humble Reset Debbie wants that title back, but it looks like Perl isn't ready to let things go. These two mix pretty well in the ring. When will Perl strike next? Maxx Edward's Halloween Introduction Maxx shows off his new gold. But, interrupted by AC Cobra. Is Cobra trying to call his shots? Nice short and sweet. Clark Effect with Devon Flash Flash talks about redemption so to speak. Says he's not gonna turn on the fans again. He's a changed man. But, then EMP and co come out and beat on Flash. The numbers are too much for Flash. Is he going to be able to over come the numbers or is going to try and find help. John Carter vs. A.C. Cobra Main event starts off with some good chain grappling with Cobra getting the upper hand. Carter continues the chain wrestling moves on Cobra. Carter beats the crap out of Cobra for a while but Cobra comes back. But, after being in control for most of the match Carter can't hit anything and Cobra picks up the win. Carter tries to move on to something new, but Elliot Parker attacks Carter from behind. The show overall was pretty good, but def got better as it continued. See everyone on Riot.
