This is whats called a Shout-Out while not mandatory this is an opportunity to get the ball rolling with something as a basic idea is presented to you. Part of discussion is not knowing what happens then reacting to them as such. If you lay out every minute detail to someone who has ZERO bearing on your project you effectively removed 1 person from discussion.
