It has been a while since I have done a long form show review. Excited to post this to the forum. Everyone has done some exceptional work on this show, and I want to go segment by segment and give you, my thoughts.

El Parca comes out and call out Maxx Edwards after the surprising return of the former tag team champion. I really enjoyed the back and forth, and them pointing out the fact they really haven’t crossed paths over the last 5 years. Maxx is a fresh face in the World Title scene which is always welcome in my mind. Parca hinted at his history with Colin Locke impacting the decision for Maxx to go after him as well. Parca big timed and I want to see how Maxx reacts to that.

The Rumble Bellas have a press conference, they discuss their upcoming match on Ambition and the S-Cup tournament. I wasn’t a huge fan of Belle putting Ashely so far over and diminishing herself in comparison with her comments. It is obvious that these two are great baby faces and have a lot of respect not only for one another but the tournament as well. Enjoyed the segment overall.

KCB tried to steal it early, but Luis Bishop takes the control with a barrage of offense. Luis really showcased his move set and ring awareness well in a couple of spots. KCB needs a drug test because Luis was yellow after very minimal damage. It really was a clinic and Bishop was in control the entirety of the match. Seems as if his association with Dennis and El Parca has made him step his game up to another level. I personally enjoyed the match, what a great way to open up the show match wise.

Sue and Hifumi doing some bonding before their Ambition match against the Rumble Bellas was a fine segment. I have really enjoyed Hifumi since Chey brought her in and the different interactions she has been able to garner. Sue, playing the country I don’t understand you and it is insulting me was funny. Sue alluded to the S-Cup and what she wanted to do to Hifumi. Great work to all involved, really enjoyed this written segment.

C-Note taking aim at Mark Reese was a natural segway to his failed cash in at the 19th Anniversary show. C-Note blames Mark Reese, which immediately summons Big Country to defend his reputation. The Mummy returns burn made me pop. He turns it back around on C-Note and says he cost him. This could be the type of feud C-Note needs to be in that top spot. C-Note playing the clear Heel here leaves the ring and says they will do it on his time. Overall, I think C-Note needs to put his money where his mouth is and take down Mark Reese. Because I feel Mark Reese should get another shot at El Parca, one on one this time.

Next up was Heather and Cody Hagen visiting the Cesar Dojo. The Threat Hunter feels like a dude that is stuck in the friend zone. Even being called “brother” by Heather in the during the exchange she has with AJM. Glad to see AJM still being semi active despite Doc being busy. I like the idea that Heather is trying to gain allies. The Terra stuff was a nice touch too, quite the fan of going back and highlighting past lore. Good segment and I want to see how Dragana, AJM, Harper or anyone else at the dojo will factor into this equation.

Anniversary 19 recap was a fun segment. Won’t go over that a lot since I already shared my thoughts on that during the post show podcast. EMP is amazing though, can’t state that enough.

The Believers were next, and it seems that Chris wants to end the partnership with Joe. Seeing as all the work they have needed to do has been done. The romcom references were funny, and the thing was awkward but fit the two very well. Deaver challenging Chris to find out who the better wrestler is makes sense in a baby faces parting ways kind of setup. I am interested in seeing this match and what these two get themselves into from here.

An absolute shocker, Anthony Martin pulls out the upset victory over Joe Deaver. Deaver fell behind quite early and never seemed to catch up. Maybe this whole crazy persona for A-Mart is doing him some wonders. Could he have possibly absorbed some of Aries talent in the process of him leaving? I have no idea, but I am happy for A-Mart. Him leaning into the “unaware” gimmick but not making it stupid… was quite genius from the Professor. Personally, I hope A-Mart cools off when he faces Mad Dawg on Ambition 86. Deaver, I want to see what he cooks up next. He has been here a while and never seems to break through despite the opportunities being there. Maybe a win over Chris helps with that?

I have no idea what the fuck is going on here. I do not recognize any of these characters. Donnie, Mr. Bonucci, or Head Man is. But they clearly know who Mr. Sensation is. Bring me clarity at some point please.

Cody Hagen comes out and cuts a promo on EMP. I am not sure what he stands to gain by saying he is taking the lasts pieces of the church or constantly calling out EMP. He kind of seems like Heather’s manager for lack of a better way of describing it. Hoping to see more focus on something that gets the Threat Hunter into the ring and following FPR to the letter of the law.

Paul Boulet and Luis Bishop meet up with Boulet trying to get Bishop to sign a petition. Spider invented petitions so he obviously was going to sign it twice. The other name is some dude Boulet knocked out and made him sign. Boulet bragging about his victory and talking about the dents Bolek left in the ring after his ass kicking at Anniversary was fun. Bishop singing the petition was unexpected. I want to see Boulet politic his way into that main event. Fun segment and a really good read.

Blaine and EMP walk in, quick recap on TSO. Good stuff not much to be said here.

Enjoyed the written promo from B17. Found it interesting he picked members of DNS to encourage after they whooped his ass 2 in the ring 2 months ago. But he is old and near retirement age so that could have something to do with his short-term memory loss. On a serious note great segment, and the move over new stars popped me huge. Considering I knew Bolek had on a move over old stars shirt later in the show. This is a match I really want to see and they are going about it in an interesting way with them both seemingly choosing respect.

Flojo seems to be having a total change in attitude. The Woman who speared Claude Hall’s mother doesn’t seem to be around anymore. Instead, this Flojo seems to respect Dragana and wants her teachings. Enjoyed the segment and give me more please.

I can’t be the only person that thinks there is something between Deborah and Brian at this point right? Deborah seems like that they that would dress up in latex and… never mind I will keep that to myself. But these two have be in one of those weird power dynamic relationships even if it isn’t a romantic relationship in nature. She took him on vacation, I don’t know anyone who takes the help on vacation. I will be sad if Deborah is on vacation for the next couple of months, but hey you always leave the audience wanting more.

BAE has an interview with “Stacky” Clark not sure how that one happened. The ‘E’ and ‘K’ keys aren’t even close to each other. BAE is a dirty white boy heel and I like the idea. He is eccentric that the vast majority of the OCW roster is not. If he works really hard maybe one day he can be as eccentric as Spider. But I have a feeling he might get a call from Drago over his comment towards a female OCW staff member. I am ready to see someone kick his ass, so who is it going to be?

The Lobby against the Cockbyrnes pitted some long time veterans against one another.  It really was a fun match to watch. I thought for a moment there that Suart and Lonnie might pull this thing out. Pugh performed very well in extended periods of time in the ring. Clear he is shaking off whatever ring rust he had, and Kid Ego is rounding back into form. Rust looks as good as ever and these two will continue to form a formidable team.

Enjoyable segment from TOG explaining why Shianne was not a part of the Super S-Cup tournament. The Dupree insults get more and more creative as time goes on. What does Shianne do from here. I feel like the character is starting to shine quite a bit, and how does that coexist with EMP’s plans for dominance of the Women’s division and OCW as a whole? Find out next week on Dragon Ball Z.

Viktor Karmine talks about how he survived Mad Dawg and Aisu to retain his title. Cuts a promo on BASH and then interrupted by this mysterious clock ticking. An ominous message in red comes across the screen. Telling him he is focused on the wrong target, which makes sense considering BASH is otherwise engaged. I have no idea who this person is, but I hope the surprise is as good as this segment was.

I really loved this impassioned Chance Promo. Brian again on multiple occasions, with different characters has shown the ability to write an amazing segment. Chance and Derek are the closet and tightest knit duo in OCW and it shows here again. Add Bobbi into the mix and you really have yourself a great group. I hope they eventually reach their goal of becoming tag team champions.

Heather and Cody visit the Kasstian Church for a celebration that is being held due to Kass being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Their back and forth is fun and ties up a lot of loose ends for Heather. EMP showing up wasn’t fully expected by me like it likely could have been by others. Kass essentially telling Heather she went rouge and caused this seemed to be the final straw for her. They immediately high tail it out and leave. Some really great quips in this segment and overall a lovely read.

Mass Effect comes out and cuts a promo on Grit and Glory. That causes the guys from G&G to come out to defend their good names. Mass Effect goes straight to calling out the tag team champs the Future Idiots. In true babyface fashion, Chance and Derek admit they let that one get away. But that they will be back and want one more shot at those straps as they called them. Things eventually breakdown and we are left with Mass Effect standing tall. You have to figure these guys will be the next challengers for the OCW Tag Team titles. Enjoyed the segment and shoutout to Devon Flash another rookie putting in great work.

Blaine comes out to the ring, cuts a promo talking about money. All of the different instances in which money reigned supreme in her career. She says EMP will main event Lution and it will bring her a pay day. I am not sure exactly how this benefits Blaine yet unless she is the opponent. But I want to find out more about her plans in the coming weeks.

A nice little package about the growth of Deborah over time. It is revealed that Joanna is the one behind the old TV package. Her lady gave her the mission and apparently that involves dethroning Deobrah for the OCW Women’s world championship. Now here I was all worried about Deborah being off for months. This clash is something I have wanted to see since Joanna arrived back on the scene. Great work in the video presentation.

Brian Williams is interviewing a hurt John Carter who is one half of the tag team champs. John takes a cheap shot verbally at Brian before continuing. John sells the injury hard during the interview and says he will have the answers on Turmoil next week. Obviously, he and Jordan are not giving up those belts without a fight. I don’t think John’s shoulder will be anywhere close to healed next week. Lots of drama left to unfold here.

Lotus Flojo and Hifumi Mayoshi were up next with their match. Flojo took control of the match early and had Hifumi back pedaling. The sunset flip to the outside from the ring apron was a really cool spot in the match. From there Hifumi managed to battle back and make it an interesting contest. It looked for a moment there that Hifumi had the match locked up and under control, but her showboating nearly cost her. I enjoyed the pace of this match and Hifumi as a character. I will be very interested to see where the arc goes. Clearly a great win for her heading into the Super S-Cup. I really enjoyed this match.

Dragana is very deserving of her Hall of Fame induction. I enjoyed the celebration that her students, AJM, Harper, and another new Hall of Famer Bertha put on. The letter from Terra was very nice touch. Bubba the lion and her brother Drago Cesar join in as well. Good light feeling segment with some of the hard-hitting stuff we had going. Nice little contrast.

The burn book was a great piece of content. Whoever made this, I want you to know I personally enjoyed it. It came out of left field for me and felt almost like something Deborah would do. However, it is clear Deborah isn’t burning herself and the identity of who did this is still in question. Please give me more whenever you can, highly enjoyed this.

We are joined by our management team and they are discussing the S Cup tournament. The clear tension between the camps is evident. Drago and Dupree both offput by EMP’s goals and aspirations of winning the S Cup, becoming Pride Champion and then eventually taking the OCW Women’s World Championship from Deborah. I laughed at the Spider being the greatest women’s wrestler of all time schtick. EMP telling Spider to embrace her pride was funny. Always enjoy written segments from these four. Keep them coming.

Paul Boulet enter Mr. Sensation’s office. JCS big times him and doesn’t know who he is. Boulet makes his case to be in the main event. JCS makes me pop huge with Canadian large breasts joke. I need to see Heavy Duty as a tag team. Jay going off about the Riptide was so funny. Him invalidating the petition because Spider signed it was gold too. Angus knows how to write and I always enjoy the work he puts in with Mr. Boulet.

Really enjoyed the main event, it was short as I expected. These guys are some heavy hitters, Wrex and Quartz are going to potentially go another round in their storied rivalry. Mark Reese continues to be unable to win a triple threat match. The action after the match with Reese arguing with the Ref then Wrex flattening Quartz was stuff I didn’t know I needed until it actually happened. Give me more of this next week please.

The EMP vs Nate/JCS confrontation was Page 2 finally is being explained. Emp wants to main event Lution at all cost. When JCS and Nate finally get to the ring EMP calling Nate his pet GOAT made me pop. Ortiz caught a smack for his Lution comments and the whole thing devolved from there. I thought Nate was going to end her until Perfect Storm and Spider showed up. The group tears down Nate before EMP drops the bombshell of the night. She is married to JCS… Holy shit guys. This was an incredible segment and I will have to see how JCS legally rectifies this. The twists and turns that this thing has had is pro wrestling at its finest.

We follow up with the final segment of the night. Spider, Perfect Storm and EMP laud their accomplishments for the night. Quartz hurts a member of the production team and then jokes about getting fined by big bad Drago. EMP does a faux investigation and clears Quartz of any wrong doing. H20 and Quartz set their eyes on the Future Idiots. I love EMP offering drinks to the group on Jay. Another great example of a fantastically written segment to end the show.

Great work to everyone involved here. It is all of you that make this thing go around. All the hard work that gest put into every show, every week. I personally can’ t thank everyone enough for the joy and entertainment that it brings me every week. I look forward to Friday and Saturday afternoons when we have a PLE. Can’t wait to see what everyone brings for Turmoil next week!
