The Incomplete History of Tiberius Dupree

The Early Years

Born Tiberius Octavian Dupree on February 14th, 1983 to Claudius and Octavia Dupree at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His parents were middle class hardworking Canadians. His father a mail carrier, and his mother a high school teacher. They lived on Alberta's west side in a two story Victorian home. Tiberius was a energetic and fun loving child, who was a huge hip hop, football and wrestling fan.

Not many children his age were into the Hip Hop and American culture, this gave Tiberius a charm and demeanor that made him very unique. Inspired by DJ Babu and DJ Premiere at the age of 17 he taught himself the art of Turntablism, perfecting the Flare Scratch Technique. He attended Altadore Elementary School, Nickel Junior High School, followed by Western Canada Senior High School in 1999. Where he played 2nd string running back, and wrestled 1st team for the RedMen. In his junior year he met Dierdre Summers, a young aspiring model and actress, they soon fell in love and both graduated with honors in 2001.

College and Young Adulthood

 

Tiberius earned a academic scholarship to Mount Royal University to major in Psychology. During his third semester he met Neoplolean Pierre, younger brother of retired Canadian wrestling legend Simon Pierre. Tiberius and Neopolean soon became best friends, and Neopolean was also attending his brother's wrestling school called the HTK Stronghold. After watching Neopolean train for a few months, Tiberius decided that's what he wanted to do also, so despite his parent's wishes he dropped out of college in after his 5th semester to attend the Stronghold.

In order to pay for training at the Stronghold he took a DJing gig at a local club owned by producer and rapper Mustafa Slim. Dupree had a unorthodox sound, mixing club music, with soulful sampling and Flare/Euro Scratching. Slim soon gave him the moniker of DJ Dragon a.k.a. "Your Girl's Favorite DJ" for all the women he attracted to the shows and events. While a student at the Stronghold, he learned the definition of pain, how to deliver it, how to endure it, and how to master it. Pierre was very impressed by his pupil and even taught him a variation of his move the Simon Tamer. After two years of DJing at The Kingdom Klub he had paid his way through all his training at the Stronghold and graduated in 2006 top of his class along with 'Golden Boy' Owen Micheal's and 'No Fear' Nasir Malik.

Wrestling Career

 

After a brief stint in various small Canadian promotions, Dupree got his big break when he was offered a 2 year contract with Superestrello Lucha Federación (Superstar Wrestling Federation). A pretty large wrestling promotion based on the outskirts of Rosarito, Mexico. He dawned a mask, and wrestled under the name "Canadiense Dragón". He brought a agile, technical-submission style to the high flying and daredevil Lucha Libre style, which made him very popular. As he rose through the ranks, and his young career looked promising, he asked his High School sweetheart to marry him, and of course she agreed. With a big match for the SLF Internacional Title, and his wedding on the horizon, Dupree was living his dream.

 

His match was scheduled against Cortez Monstruo, a seven foot behemoth and current reigning champion. It was pegged as a Mexican David vs. Goliath contest, and was highly anticipated event. Dupree's parents, best friend, fiance' and mentor chartered a flight to Mexico for the match. But tradegy struck when their plane crashed over Arizona due to engine failure. Dupree took the loss of his family and friends very hard. But as a competitor and professional, he still wrestled Monstruo for the title. He wrestled some say his greatest match ever, defeating Monstruo in a 45 minute showdown, dubbed the Batalla de Batalla (Battle of Battles).

The Present

 

After his contract expired from SLF, he took a year hiatus back to the Calgary, where he was approached by a representative from OCW. Dupree knew he had to wrestle again, that he couldn't soak in the loss of his family. That an opportunity like none before was placed in his hands. He took it as a blessing and didn't hesitate to sign a tentative rookie contract in a chance to become an OCW superstar.

 

Many fans and critics of Tiberius Dupree, believe his tragedy fuels the fire that makes him the "Canadian Dragon". Others believe he still wears a mask, using charismatic cander, fast women, partying and smiles to hide his true sorrow. In conclusion this is the Incomplete History of Tiberius Dupree, for many new chapters will be made here in Online Championship Wrestling.
