New Beginnings

Adam Rictor

We are at a small, local Indy show in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex when "Bohemian" by Affiance begins to shoddily play over the weak PA System of the venue. Some fans are booing, others, cheering. As the intro of the song begins to lead into the main riff, experienced wrestler Adam Rictor appears from behind the torn curtain that is the entrance. He makes his way down to the ring, giving some fans five, and ignoring others. He walks around the ring and grabs the microphone from the ring announcer and then proceeds into the ring.

Adam Rictor: Well, well, well...I know you guys weren't expecting to see me this early in the show. However, I have something that needs to get off my chest. You see, this place has always been a place I could come back to when I wasn't on the road touring with other promotions and whatnot. You guys have seen some of my best matches, and some of my worst. Unfortunately, and this is where it hurts, you will not be seeing anymore of my matches in this venue. I was recently contacted by the guys at OCW as they have been on a recruitment spree, and what they offered was something I could not pass up. However, there was a clause that I be 100% committed to them.

Some of the crowd boos to this news.

Adam Rictor: I know, I know, it sucks. But, I must continue the next chapter in my career. It's time to continue to be Mr. Old School with these guys at OCW. You see, with the recent influx of hirings, there have been quite a few guys I will be competing with that all think they are number 1, or the best there is, when both me and all of you know, they aren't. And you all know me, I've never tooted my own horn and claimed to be the best, but you all know that I have put a lot of people in their place, whether I won the match, or even if I lost it. And that's what a lot of these guys don't understand. I've always been seen as the pushover, the one that could never make it, yada yada ya. I wear the love of wrestling on my sleeve, and this is who I am. Who knows, I might steamroll through the competition, or hell, I may lose every match I have left in me. It's all proving myself to ME, and hope that I will gain the credibility at OCW that I have gained everywhere else. With that said, I'm getting the cutoff signal from the promoter, who seems a little pissed that I've run my course here. So much for respect, huh?

Adam Rictor drops the mic in the middle of the ring and poses. The crowd starts chanting, "Thank You, Rictor." He makes his way out of the ring, and up the aisle that he won't walk down again for a long, long time. He makes sure to slap every fans hand, even those that have booed him since day one. Once he makes it back to the torn curtain, he turns around, looks at the crowd, and raises his arms, taking steps backwards as he disappears.

I remember a guy doing a similar rp, where he left his indy promotion to join OCW.

that guy was the International Hardcore Champion Paul Pugh, hopefully in a years time you'll be doing as well as he is.

Keep up the excellent work!
