Quartz Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Last week, on what turned out to be a very entertaining Halloween-themed episode of OCW Turmoil, the show ended with one of OCW's brightest stars sadly announcing his retirement from professional wrestling. Though Rust Cohle did not use that specific word, he gave an emotional speech at the end of the night, thanking all of his friends and enemies alike. The Halloween Edition of Turmoil concluded with Rust's victory lap being interrupted by a man he named in his list of greatest rivals, Harvey Hamilton Ocean, who caught the French Phenom with a Riptide Superkick to the dismay of the Brooklyn crowd. H2O has not commented on the situation, but there are plenty of reasons why he would still be harboring resentment. It was Summercide 2020 that saw Harvey's then-longest OCW Championship reign come to an end at the hands of Rust Cohle. Cohle was also responsible for ending H2O's latest championship reign at the 18th Anniversary show earlier this year. Many online believe this "speech" was a setup for something to come down the road, but at least at this point, it is not clear if H2O's attack was a "sendoff" for the Frenchblade, or whether he knew it was coming at all. Cohle has not commented on the situation as of publish date. Over the last 6 years, Rust Cohle has long been a thorn in H2O's side, so his motivation to ruin his touching retirement is not without reason. However, H2O made waves breaking away from Kasstianity earlier this year and forming "The Perfect Storm" with his brother - and Rust Cohle's former tag team partner - Ijitu Quartz. Quartz and Harvey Ocean have been near inseparable since Wrestlution 17 and have made their intentions to become tag team champions very public, a fact that caused many OCW fans in attendance to notice Quartz was nowhere to be found at Turmoil following the loss to the Believers at OCW Hard Target. While talent does occasionally take time off after major shows, seeing H2O end the show the way he did without his brother has raised additional questions, questions we may have received more answers to after the cameras turned off. In a clip that has since widely circulated social media, a small group of fans awaiting their favorite OCW wrestlers noticed a loud spat from the usual exit area of Barclay's Arena. In the recording of the incident, the shouting eventually spills out of the exit as H2O and Ijitu Quartz were seen verbally sparring one another regarding H2O's involvement in the Rust Cohle Segment. More than one source close to WhereCulture inside OCW have said they believe that the Perfect Storm had other plans on this edition of Turmoil, but that Harvey "called an audible", at the last minute, opting to instead cut the planned Perfect Storm promo segment. Quartz was clearly unhappy with this situation and decided to stay in the back. Whether the former member of CQC refused to attack Rust Cohle because of the two's past relationship or because he was simply frustrated at his brother going into business for himself, Quartz' frustration with his brother is very clear in the viral clip. The clip does stop before the incident concluded, but witnesses say Quartz continued to shout "This shit is bigger than you, you don't make the rules." before storming away, presumably to leave the arena without his brother, who re-entered the arena shortly after the disagreement, still in his wrestling gear. ---------------------------------------------------------- Both men are advertised together on the upcoming RIOT show on November 3rd on Twitch.tv/OCWFed, which will also include a North American Championship rematch between Viktor Karmine and Paul Boulet, as well as a blockbuster main event between B17 and Aries. It remains to be seen whether we will get any answers from H2O or Ijitu Quartz regarding the incident, or if it will simply be swept under the rug.
