20 Year Recap Video:

 

Fire video. Loved how it gave you reminder of everything from Anni including everyone who appeared on the show. I'd love to see this sort of thing get picked up (doesn't have to be just from the creator who ever that is, wonderful work) and continued with we all love hype packages and after such a successful PPV and that nice holiday cool zone, ah excellent way to start the show. Only thing is the song while I like it, that cover was not it for me but didn't matter as I still jammed anyways.

 

We got flying fucking chairs:

 

You truly see it all in OCW. We got a flying chair taking Jim Black out smooth as shit, then the bitch decides to go backstage and either runaway or target someone else, excellent.

 

Clark Effect w/ Mad Dawg + Marisa:

 

Im fucking crying right now. This was Stacy being instigator 9000 while having OCWs version of Jersey Shore fuckery happening. The pettiness and dynamic between Marisa and Mad Dawg is a blast and this made we giggle quite a bit, I can't wait to see what happens with the two as the year rolls on.

 

Rookie Battle:

 

Fucking christ man this match takes you on a rollercoaster of a ride. At first I'm thinking it's gonna be a Belakor just mauling Mantis but the green guy actually starts to mount a comeback! The back and forth between this two and the never say die attitude was pretty nuts lmao, Mantis scratching and clawing his way to try and win was really impressive and massive kudos to Belakor for not shitting the bed on that type of early dominance. Couple aesthetics things like default trons, not having a cover over the GTs on the victory, and not so many flavor pins from Belakor but this was not a bad match at all. The finish was DISGUSTING and I didn't know we allowed straight murder happen on TV.

 

Damian Bourne doesn't Believe:

 

Old school fashion approach with the writing here by Damian but it was very good to read and kept it simple & to the point. I didn't think a single promo could ever make my heart wanna start Believing again in Joe Deaver but BY GOD I HATE CANADIANS AND IT'S USA! USA! USA! Somehow though, I am sure Deaver will disappoint me and this sick fucking Canadian is gonna piss all over my TV when I see him again. 

 

A Golden Message from Jynx feat Tre Golden:

 

Spooky clown man doesn't forget Tre! He's putting you on notice brother! Don't get held down by voodoo magic as well! Solid start to a promising story between Jynx and Tre. 

 

 

Will pick up after some more on Tuesday, or not. Who knows.

Devon Flash Backstage:

 

Idk if my audio was scuffed or what but I didn’t hear anything coming from this video. But that’s besides the point, I love Devon. I’m ready for him to take the bull by the horns and start this singles run, he obviously hasn’t had the easiest start since like he said people are thinking he’s a snitch. That + he’s gotta face a huge challenge in Claudio? This could be very good or very bad for him depending how it shakes out. 
 

Bourne v. Deaver:

 

Damians presentation is really solid, the hyper Canadian loyalty in me wanted him to come out in Canadian colors but that’s okay. In another world a different man used that theme but god that theme fucking rocks so hard. Deavers gotta clean his look up a bit it’s just all over the place and relatively not pleasing. Yet another match where I thought it was gonna just be the one sided beatdown but it turned into yet another scratch and claw situation. Deaver did the best he could but Damian was just on point in this one. Relatively smooth match not really much to complain about really, OCW’s midcard is seriously stacked with just how many promising contenders there are. If Damian continues this success and manages to win a championship in the future I need him to turn it into the Canadian championship. 
 

Cody & Marisa Backstage:

 

Sometimes the dialogue for Cody comes off extremely robotic. Like it’s not a human saying these things but a computer trying to come off as a human. How are we gonna go from first saying Marisa should focus on the womens title but then go to talking about Mad Dawg and how he + DNS want him and Marisa happy? Something doesn’t really click here and the dawg is very obviously noticing that as we’re starting to see some cracks in DNS. I wouldn’t have expected him to lay his hands on Cody but things are heating up. 

 

DNS Potentially Implodes:

 

Firstly, I was not a fan of the segment name. While I understand sometimes jay takes creative Liberty over naming peoples segments if they don’t themselves I just wasn’t fond of seeing that as the name right away. I also don’t feel like this segment really gave DNS potentially imploding vibes, if anything this gave vibes of JynX realizing maybe DNS isn’t what he needs. I’m also not in love with Jordan Trance fucking over BASH after he helped BASH? So that’s just another weird thing unfolding as well. OMEN catching chair shots to the face was cool though as that big fuck needs it. Overall it appears as DNS is the most successful it’s ever been but suffering the most at the same time. It’s a great dynamic that I hope continues into them either ushering in a new leader or DNS ending via civil war. 
 

Perl v. Belle:

 

Another very solid match in the list of matches we’ve had tonight. Another back and forth as well where we are seeing two of the brightest in OCW’s women’s division really trying to make a mark for themselves in the pecking order. This win for Perl was definitely a huge load off her shoulders I imagine after that crushing defeat from Valk. Belle proving time and time again that she can’t have a bad match with anybody and still garnering the natural babyface sympathy and aura from everyone involved especially when Ashley appears and starts acting like a piece of garbage. I can’t wait for that match to inevitably happen and hopefully Belle is able to pull off the win against Ashley but tonight Perl got the job done and it was a real good womens match.

The song choice wasn't it for me. The song has already been used pretty iconic way for WWE. Put that to one side because it is its own thing. It's been used before in OCW for a pretty notable feud. Many songs could be used to recap a previous event, so this one didn't need to be used, whether it was a cover or not.  Other people may disagree but I think if a song has been used, don't use it again unless you're referencing something from the past. Like I did when I used a song in the presentation from Summercide between Nate and Aries. There are plenty of songs worldwide that can be used to avoid this.

This came out of nowhere for me and I wasn't a fan. 

Cody is a big dude. He wears monstrous face paint. He tags with another big dude.  

He simped over a horrible woman while his career floundered. He couldn't beat DNS so he joined them.

He has other things going on right now and, instead of worrying about his own career, he's focusing on Marisa's.

It just seems really out of place and not in a good way. 

Cody needs segments to build him up, not build up other people. 

If this would lead to a match between Cody and Mad Dawg you could argue it's building him up but he's supposed to be in Temple of Omen. 

It shows a lack of cohesive planning and implementation of Cody's story. Unless Cody's story is that he's going to find the most reprehensible women in the women's division and act like they're misunderstood, underappreciated people who need his words of encouragement.
