All ribbing aside, objectively speaking an era is defined by a multitude of factors and variables, including: Tenure, Character Value, and most important cumulative achievement. Examples include in Modern times, the reintroduction of Ambition which saw the birth of the Ambition 4. This didn't become the Ambition Era overnight in fact the phrase wasn't even coined well after "The Graduation" and into 2012 as each of the 4 and Spider rose to prominence. This includes the longstanding angle with Dupree and Dimsmore, which saw them go from friend to bitter foe, which saw both evolve greatly as the months turned to years. Which includes Dimsmore wearing his his sisters shirts and THE TASSLES, to what we have now who is in most people's words a ME waiting to explode. And lets not forget the jerk who makes up his own rules nani cakes who has gone through at least a dozen make over since his debut. Caveats include the Rise and subsequent fall of LOTUS, and feuds with Dupree, Dimsmore, Patolomai. The body of work speaks for itself but it is lengthy. The turning point would be with the crowning achievement for the union as a whole of Dupree becoming World Champion. Examples in the past include the Golden Era, much to the dismay of the current roster which took place I would say from 2006 aka 2k6 era to 2009 aka The Golden Era as a whole. Which embodied at it's core the OCW that you see today. The legacy that guys like Nate Ortiz, Majin, Nick Kage, Versus, Chris Mania, RD Money, Guy Fausto, THE STEVE, etc continue even today as most if not all are held in high regard. The point I am making is wether its 2006 or 2012, era is not to be coined lightly. That is no slight on Mikey, Eric, and Co. but to put it in hood terms. Ya'll need to put in MAD work before you can get to go on about an ERA and even then it will be coined by others and not yourself. Cuz shit I mean, who remembers the APEX era? anyone? anyone? serious anyone?

Welcome to episode #2 of Wrestling Ichiban Weekly with yours truly, The Original Wrestling Journalist, Gabe Seltzer. This week I will be covering both of OCW's weekly shows, Ambition & Riot. With Riot #50 around the corner, almost all the matches are now set in stone. Match Reviews Ambition 49 Evan Knox and Dorien Arnaud. These two are just two youngsters trying to make a name for themselves in OCW. When the match spilled to the outside near my seat I saw one of the best moonsaults in a while 3 1/2* TJ Stevens and Chris Moore was a highly entertaining match. I'm a fan of kicks and plenty were thrown around in this match. Both guys tried to pick apart each others body but only one could win. 3 3/4* BOMBSHELLS! Thank you booker man! As mentioned last week, I have been looking forward to more bombshell matches since we have so much female talent. This match between Alice Malice & Bu'Tay is just the beginning for bombshells. 3 3/4* Tobin Frost and Lucas Crowe had a fantastic hard hitting match that any fan of strong style can definitely appreciate. I definitely marked out for Tobin's back suplex on the outside of the ring, PAINFUL. Crowe picks up the win here but Frost will definitely get some added attention on him after that fantastic match. 4* The main event mixed tag team match was surprisingly very entertaining. Going into the match I was thinking "Aw man, those two chicks are gonna be so lost in the ring" but boy was I wrong. They genuinely surprised me. They even got HARDCORE when they went through the barricades. When Scofield and Hollywood were in the ring, there was so much tension that you could.......you could.....cut it with a knife I guess, but yea you get my point. Can't wait to see when these two guys get their hands on each other for the title on Ambition 50. 4 1/4* Quick Ambition 49 Notes Pugh gets my cheap pop of the night. I must have jumped 15 feet out of my seat when I heard that theme song go off How does TJ Stevens bandanna stay on for the whole match like that? Mind Blown Michael Hollywood, you are making a strong case for my favorite gaijin wrestler of the year so far. Keep it going With all the crazies on the OCW roster, Keith Douglas may be on the top of that list. I really hope I don't run into him backstage, EVER. So. Much. Booty. Bu'Tay with that 6 star booty. Alice Malice makes a great point for a Bombshell title. Could easily elevate the division. This Hollywood VS Scofield feud is so heated and I love it. I got my popcorn ready for Ambition 50. Kindred still scares me. McGee can get hardcore, I still remember that match from months back. Watch out for him. Please tell me Scofield is one of the mystery last second guys in the King of OCW. As I said earlier, can not wait for Ambition 50. Pugh putting his hardcore title on the line. A #1 contenders match for that title featuring some heavy hitters. And how can you forget, Scofield VS Hollywood, let's see if they can put on a 6 star match for moi. COMMERCIAL BREAK Riot 331 King of OCW has kicked off and the first match of the tournament was a match between one of my good friends Spider and one of my favorite newcomers Tobin Frost. As expected, this match was very reminiscent of something you would see from the Sumo Hall, strong kicks, strong punches, suplexes, the works. Tobin is just a machine delivering suplex after suplex, my favorite had to be the german suplex off the top turnbuckle. Tobin wins in an impressive fashion against a veteran. 4 1/2* The second match of the night featured some black on black crime between Sean McGee & K.Dangelo. I can say that right? Right? Okay. Please don't hurt me cause I'm white, KD & McGee. These two guys don't like each other, and thats what makes this match good. Both guys were looking to kill each other. Leonheart was definitely the difference in this match as he definitely softened up KD for his Cerberus teammate. 4 1/4* In what could have been a great match set up earlier in the night turned into a mauling of Dimsmore by the two members of Cerberus. No match here but that was definitely a 5* beat down. PUGH-SAN! In probably one of the quickest matches ever in OCW history, he taps out Roofus in a matter of mere seconds. 4* because minus half a star for not putting the title on the line. Just saying old friend. The last King of OCW Match of the Night featured Tiberius Dupree against non other than Aries who was Tiffany Sensation's mystery pick this whole time. Dupree was visibly pissed at who was picked and he looked to do some damage before moving on to the next round of the King of OCW. Unfortunately this won't happen as the expert submission artist actually tapped out! Technically sound, superb way to end the night. 4 3/4*, added a quarter of a star for the surprise! Quick Riot 331 Notes Still not sure what D.U.F stands for but what I do know is that Trance, Komodo & KD mean business. Trance referring to himself as the anti-christ is bordering on politically correct , but hey, this is OCW after all. Spider VS Matsuda may not happen as part of the King of OCW tournament but I still look forward to that feud there. Tiberius Dupree, "The Man of 1341 Holds" is an asshole and I love it. How could Tiffany Sensation even have thought about keeping him out of the King of OCW. My good friend and benevolent villain Matsuda can sure cut a promo, but, can he say that word? You know, that N word? Oh well, hes a true villain. 6 Star Roofus needs to get his act together. Looking forward to seeing if KD & Leon ever get that singles match because I know these two guys will go at it. Pugh-san! Love the mink on you, keep it going. Sorry Tibby, you are great in the ring, but you are no Solid Snake. Tobin definitely has a lot on his mind to soak in, but I believe the kids got what it takes. THE FLOOR IS LAVA That battle of better submission artists after Pugh's match is a literal tie for me. I had the stopwatch app on my phone going and it was a literal tie. Parker, hit me up on Xbox Live, we should play Call of Duty. Very much looking forward to the rest of the Round 1 Matches next week! COMMERCIAL BREAK OCW Gossip Rumor out of Mexico is that OCW Ex Division Wrestler Justice lost a mask vs mask match. Will he be returning to OCW without the mask? Will he show up at all? Roofus Ruckustington The Thoid of Tiberius Dupree's entourage has been seen training in a wrestling ring prior to shows. Is it possible hes getting himself ready for regular in ring action? Would he leave the side of Dupree in favor of a singles career? In unfortunate news, former trainer of Mugen and Matsumoto, Masato Morimoto, was arrested earlier this week after a bar incident where he attempted to attack every patron with a kendo stick. Extreme Strong Style Sources have told me that Parker Stevens has fielding some offers from Hollywood of all places. Is it possible that he would leave OCW after this title run is over in favor of making movies? I for one would love to see Parker in a romantic comedy. Although Paul Pugh is the current hardcore champion and seemingly one of the top guys in the company, it seems that OCW officials are still not confident in all of his abilities to draw. OCW has been offering talent various classes to take them to the next level. I have been told that lower tier talent have been flocking to a "Get Over in 10 Easy Steps" class coached by Our Hero himself. With multiple rookies having made their promotion to the main roster, are more on the way as well? What other surprises are we in store for in the King of OCW tournament? I have been hearing rumors about the possibility of a 17th Entrant into the tournament this year. Who could that possibly be? A former OCW World Heavyweight Champion that we haven't seen in a while? Speaking of mystery opponents, who is Paul Pugh facing at Ambition 50 for his Hardcore Title? Will this be an Extreme Surprise? Tune in to find out. It is funny you should mention that Jacob. I remember that thing vividly. The angle was mildly over and since it wasn't a comp angle in the slightest I had the idea that he should squash the refs as he intended only for the final ref to be "Sideshow The Klown" which would then HoF decimate him in quick grand fashion, everyone goes home happy. Following Riot Ryder could then start a gimmick about Legends which would lead to a rematch or at least maybe a fight with Recon who returns at PPV or any Legend and we get legit comp. What we get instead is a bunch of long squashes, that take to long followed by a fucking 30 to 40 (im guessing its been awhile, still to long) fight with Sideshow, who didn't even really look like a ref. The lesson? there isn't a lesson Fuck Chris Ryder! No that's rude. The actual lesson? K.I.S.S Keep it simple stupid. and SCENE!

Welcome to episode #1 of Wrestling Ichiban Weekly with yours truly, The Original Wrestling Journalist, Gabe Seltzer. Online Championship Wrestling has graciously allowed me to attend all of their events and watch fantastic wrestling matches in exchange for weekly insider reviews & comments on everything OCW. Also, can't forget, I will be from time to time covering the fantastic world of wrestling elsewhere, especially in the great land of the Rising Sun, Japan. Match Reviews (Note that I will review all matches on a scale of 1 to 5 stars BUT the matches that are exceptionally amazing will receive 6 stars. Very few matches have received this honor.) Well where do I start, this week featured some of the greatest wrestlers to ever have been in a Japanese ring. The night started off in a fantastic bout between Bedlam and Spider, who I have had the pleasure watching wrestle numerous times in the Sumo Hall. This fantastic, hard hitting matchup ends just the way I would have liked it. 4* K.D, who I shall not compare to Bill Pine tonight.....oops. Well he was put in a heated match against Leonheart. This little feud has been brewing for a while and I think it just may reach its boiling point soon. I was hoping to see more but obviously Leon was not looking to win by fair means and hired some help. A lot more potential for this match when this match happens again with hopefully no interference. 3 1/2* One of my good friends, Mugen, faced off against the recently returning Jookie Marley. While you may expect that a match with Jookie would bring the star rating of this match down 2 stars instantly, this match was quite a thrilling competition between the two. It finished with one of the wildest sequences of attempts at finishing moves that I have seen in a while. 4 1/4* Gaijin of the year runner up (Editors note: Gaijin means foreigner in Japanese) Pugh is making it hard for me to continue voting against him. This hard fought match with Komodo was a great way to warm up for his upcoming title defense. 4* Another one of my favorite gaijin wrestlers, Dimsmore continues to show me why I am such a fan of his work. This match also had a crazy sequence to finish the match. Fortunately the loss to Jacob Trance does not make me think of Dimsmore any less. Trance does move up a bit more in my books and deserves that future title shot. Easily my match of the night 4 3/4* In the main event, one of the greatest products of Japanese Puroresu and 6 Star Match Award Winner, Spider Matsuda was placed into quite possibly his toughest match in recent memory against the team of Cody Storm & Sean McGee. It seemed at times that Matsuda was able to regain control in a tough situation but the numbers game just caught up to him. 4 1/2* Quick Riot Notes Bedlam scares the hell out of me So do Crowe and friends KD still hates Euros, and I love it. Are Sean's arms getting bigger? Is that even possible? Do we need to test him for HGH? Matsuda needs to hook his friend Gabe up with Minami's friends. Just saying Trance looks to have packed on some more weight, in all the wrong places. Cerberus are looking to be a very formidable force and are here to stay in the main event scene. I have seen Matsuda VS Spider many times before, and I know for a fact that the next chapter in this feud is still going to be amazing COMMERCIAL TIME OCW Gossip Cerberus are clearly looking to add another member. Could it be Dimsmore? Mez Murdock? Some other big name? Either way, members of Cerberus, Sean McGee and Cody Storm were spotted earlier last week at a Toys R' Us looking to purchase yet another kid's replica of the OCW International Championship belt. Rumor is that a certain frugal member of the group would not spend more on a third belt so they had to rely on other means of getting a third belt. From my sources, Jookie Marley tested positive for marijuana for the 19th time. Fortunately for him, OCW does not take action until after the 101st offense. When we asked him for a comment on the rumor, all he said was "Guyyyyyyyyyyyyy". Stay tuned for more details OCW Hardcore Champion was spotted earlier this week back home in the UK shopping at numerous arts & crafts stores. Is more glitter on the trunks on the agenda? The Bombshell Division may get featured more in following weeks. With the wealth of female talent on the roster, I don't see why they don't get more of a chance to shine. King of OCW looks like it will be spectacular. I'm particularly looking to see if the rookies like Michael Hollywood & Tobin Frost can use this stage as a platform to another level. There are some notable snubs from the tournament but I will leave that up for debate. With two mystery spots, is there a possibility for a return from an OCW Legend? Or a Dark Horse?
