Hmm Interesting. I knew it was definitely your voice on it because of the acting but I thought there was something on top of it to make it sound a bit different. Cool nonetheless

More thoughts, this time with words but not every piece of content is talked about Valkyrie-Bash - Bash Voice Modulator feels a bit out of place at this point in the character's time but I also understand that that is easier to pull off than an AI Voice and it's all we've known Bash as up to this point - Valkyrie's Arena Effects on the voice are on point, not overdone like most attempts - Some of the "What"s seemed a bit out of place like either Valk didn't pause for long enough or didn't say something "What" worthy but I am a bit jealous as this is something I've wanted to do for a long time and I do still think it came across well here. Deaver - "Independently Wealthy" Victor Matt - Didn't think the match was as bad as other people thought - Matt betting against himself though, common sense ain't so common I guess. Bolek-Bobbi - This started last week and without getting into the specific's it's really just got me thinking "What is the end-game?" and is this the best way to get to that - If the endgame is a match with Chance, given the fact that match has already happened, this seems like not the best way to get back to that and that feud seems like a step back for Bolek at this point. CNote - Jynx - Vid felt like it was on 1.5x speed, every part of it - At first I thought they just wanted to make the entrance short but then the text also was swinging by way too fast - Assuming it's not an editing mistake, it is hard to not take too much time while also letting your stuff land and sometimes it just plays out a bit different on stream then when you're putting it together but I know both of them can put together text vid rps like the back of their hand so not gonna look too much into it. Underground Elite - Marisa - Love the Ambition from the rookies as I suspect this was a Gab Vincent production - Pretty Funny - Good Stuff all around Rory-Amart - Not bad good follow up for both men from their matches last week, MOTN Contender Claude Stardom - Fantastic Voice Acting - There were a multiple times where I thought "That's a good ending line" but then the promo didn't end there. - Here are the parts I think could've ended the promo "Unknown rookie who's about to be on his way out the door when I'm through with you" "Acknowledge Your Tribal Cheeks, that's all you gotta do sucka" "Bow to me or get your ass whooped by me, and I want an answer next week" - I don't know if that's just me getting pump faked or the video was too long but I think it did take away from the actual ending of the video and the vid as a whole. - The AI-ness of the voice stood out to me here, but I feel like it didn't when Claude Stardom was first around and I think it's the same voice so I think that just shows how far the tech has come. Junko-ClickBait - Junko - Ai Tron but I do like the background and think it fits and helps make it pop more than just a logo on black - ClickBait - Love the entrance, and the custom announcer - Lot of hiccups/awkward moments during the match - Attempted Crapple from Junko(?) - Awkward Bits aside, good match - Post Match promo was much better than promo from earlier in the show from Junko. Cold Front-DNS - Cold Front is a very nice name - A very acceptable AI(?) tron for DNS - New look Omen is a step in the right direction, hopefully he finds himself in it and continues on in that direction - That was a match, a long match but I don't think it was the worst match. - It really just had a lack of level-headed veteran leadership which I know is weird to say but it had like almost what you'd expect to see, breaking up a bunch of moves, not letting people capitalize on their reversals, a whole lotta lotta just spamming attack and running. - It was actually like 80% there though, just needed someone to be calm and be like "Let's get in the ring" a little earlier or be like "You go fight him and I'll do this" but I actually think it was mostly there. Tre At The Gym - Nice Character development for the Newly Focused Tre - Helps establish him as a babyface going up against Jordan Trance Jynx-Devon - My MOTN - Wish Jynx didn't let him out as many times as he seemingly did, especially after he hit the In-A-Flash on Devon - Still a Uber Competitive Match that brought it from Start to Finish Samsin/Iceman Energy - This shit made my hairline recede and gave me a mullet at the same time. - It also inflated my biceps by 4 inches and my wife is now scared of me. - Samsin as the non-talker very underrated with his taunts and his pose at the end - Iceman doing what he does best but it's way more refined and concise then some of his earlier stuff which just shows his journey - S+ Tier Parca/Sheldon Package - Love seeing some pre-taped segments over video - Nice little changeup from the usual in-ring or backstage - Lot of "Recaps" in this show in general which is a kind of crazy coincidence. Marisa/Dragana - Weirdly surprised by how even the match is. - I say weirdly not cause I think one is largely better than the other but I thought that whoever had the upper hand was gonna kill the other. - Like I ain't know who was gonna win but I was expecting it to be one-sided. - While I have no problems with the finish there were multiple (meaning more than one) people that expressed discontent with these types of finishes in the previous weeks and all I'mma say is I haven't seen that same energy here...so far. With that being said, decent show but it's weird cause I feel like this show excelled where the other show didn't. It's almost as if Turmoil and Riot were two diametrically opposed shows when their not but the vibe of each was way different. This one was def a bit more lighthearted and more of a building block for what's to come on the Go-Home and Hard Target

When I said "from a creative standpoint" I mean from the wrestling job role known as "Creative". As in "If I was Head of Creative, (the person in charge of storylines), I would have went a different direction with this storyline". Not like anything you've said.

What does that change? It's still a bottle of Muscle Juice with your guys' name on it with the flavor "Loser Lemonade" written on it.

Had a notepad open while watching the show, mostly short offhand thoughts with some things I went a bit deeper on. Emp-Deborah intro - Pretty long Vid - Why physical violence again? This feels like Deborah could've been replaced with a number of Emp's previous rivals and no one would've batted an eye which is a disappointing given how both of them have been such focal points for the Fed let alone the women's division. - Not only that but these women are so much more than the physical dominance, they both have an "aura" that precedes them. We could legit be having a proxy war between Jae(or Jae-I as he was in the vid) and Brian Williams or have both Emp and Deborah use their social pull/power to undermine each other and what they've achieved but instead we get two women trying to kill each other yet again. Jordan Trance - While I do think there is something there with the "Scapegoat" Jordan Trance, it's so hard to root for that when it feels he's been miscast or reskinned as he lost anything that previously made him unique. - In his segment it doesn't read like a Jordan Trance segment it reads like a Thomas Archer segment. - For lack of a better term, Jordan Trance lost all of his autism and is now this smarmy intelligent well spoken individual with careful consideration of how he comes across. - This double sucks cause I think if we got old Jordan Trance but as a heel where he goes off on random diatribes that are a bit more villainous as opposed to innocent as they were before, or he could happenstance and luck his way out a lotta times and kind of get one up without his own doing. I think this kind of character almost an oblivious heel would be a lot more interesting to watch and more unique than what we currently have. Rory vs Petie - Good booking - Good Match - Good post match that parlays into a feud that should hopefully welcome back Claudio Stardom into the mix even if his demeanor change and hatred for Rory does feel a bit out of nowhere (to me at least) John Carter segment - Little segment but no need to make this an in ring segment when you're gonna be coming out later for your match. This could've been backstage Christine vs Skadi - Chrstine - very nice attire, gimmick, face paint even, Face is so nothing it is annoying. I'm not going to say she should get a face scan but something to make the face pop a little bit and not look like some chick from an 80s horror movie. - Skadi - Was expecting to hate this more, Cool Entrance, Lots of Presence without overstaying welcome or doing too much, do hate the name though it's almost laugh in your face generic. - Match - Liked the match, interesting ending, will be quite the curveball for Skadi to work around Divorce - Good Editing - Good writing from characters - Lawyer Repeating himself saying things like "I assume you've read everything" was a bit odd even if it was done intentionally to plant a seed. I think the first time was enough Valkyire Perl - Good Voices - Good Mic Effects - Some missing sound fx with the fighting really throws off what could've been a perfect concise segment - Good job with the story really giving Perl a rocketship rise and quite clearly being in a better position than Bash at the moment. Amart vs Iceman - My MOTN - Amart music is bazillion Volume - Amart looks good as always - AI Trons 😕 - Good Match from start to finish and a really good showing for both guys - If this was a real life match, this would probably be how you'd want to book it or have it be done to my tastes atleast. - Crapple Attempt(?) towards the end but didn't impact anything. - Definitely the peak in-ring wise on the show for me, really enjoyed it. Kass vs B17 - Kass AI is def off but not terrible, it's like staticky almost instead of roboticy like most voices are but it is pretty decent. - Adam voice acting good for the beginning but didn't pick up as the promo went on. Really wish he full sent that last line a bit more to give the segment a better ending. Clickbae vs Underground Elite - AI Tron for UE looks so lonely, please give it some friends, so much empty space - Nice Tron for Clickbae - Iron Bae Mark V looks good, nice attire - Cooling Down from last couple of matches, not necessarily a bad thing and was a nice change-up from singles action on this show. - Bae definitely getting marked down as "Bad Move Set (Repeats the same move a lot)" for this match - Breaking the pinfall is def a teaching moment for the young rook but while it didn't hurt the match at the time of it happening and looked fairly normal it did noticeably make the match drag on as after it happened it was very much a "What are we doing here" for quite a while Mass Effect and SamsICE - Not necessary, especially with all of Iceman's other doings on this show - Why would the champs sell a drink called "Loser Lemonade"? - Iceman went over at 3 different times of the show, was creative control written into his contract? - Did not enjoy this one John Carter vs Bash - Don't think Hype was necessary but not gonna knock the effort. Works for getting more reps in for whoever did it. - Nice trunks for John - Interruption was way too long, do the powerbomb or the knee not both - Ending sequence was quite discombobulated in a non-intentional way - Felt like 2 (or more) segments going on instead of 1 chaotic segment - Did Valkyrie do anything other than maybe distract Bash? - Sudden ending did not feel climactic in any way Words on Words to come eventually, but don't count on it.

Brawlful Select John Moss Tapp | June 5, 2023 After Head Booker of Ambition and OCW Legend, Paul Pugh, returned on this week’s RIOT and promised the fans “A new era of Ambition”, pen has been put to paper and a new match has been slated for Ambition 78 this Wednesday. Insiders at Brawlful Select have learned that Scumchester Academy members, Luis Bishop and Christian Garcia, are set to go head to head in OCW’s first MMA Match! Due to the short notice of the match, it is set to be a Catchweight Bout set to contain 3, 5 minute rounds. Luis Bishop has been seen frantically running around trying to prepare for the match. He is expected to be training with Chance Williams, who he teamed up with on Riot 603, due to Chance’s history with multiple martial arts. Nothing has been heard about Christian Garcia’s preparation for the match. With this in mind, Ambition 78 is bound to be a major event in its return to Hell’s Kitchen this Wednesday, airing on the Rush TV network. If you would like to see more stories and inside scoops about everything Pro Wrestling, please consider subscribing to Brawlful Select

I think you're using the words META or OOC when what you mean is "People should take the content in a vaccum". Which I disagree, with but is fair. I don't have any OOC or META information, I have context. Sure, Aisu could have announced he was opening up a hot dog stand in the arena, but I would never think that's gonna be the next step based on what I know about Aisu and Aisu's speech before he got interrupted. It's not META, it's the audience expectation. If anyone comes out and starts talking about how great they're career was and starts thanking the people they've worked with, it hints towards them leaving and that goes for outside of OCW. That's not OOC information, that's what's being implied to the audience. Similarly, if I'm watching a wrestling show and two people have a tense confrontation, I expect to see them wrestle at some point. As for titles, that's what the sport is about. Could I see Aisu just wanting to fight OWEN for the sake of it and to "leave it all in the ring"? Maybe. But I could also see Aisu wanting to get the ultimate revenge on OWEN for interrupting him and taking his title since that title should be very important for OWEN.

I don't believe I did any sort of meta analysis. I just analyzed it as a regular viewer with no outside knowledge. I also never said the story was a wash off the jump. I just didn't like THIS specific segment because of what I feel it sets up.

We’re back. Lots of Words, Some Vids, and A Match Quick fire Nice to see Written Content from Harri, helps our champion feel fleshed out and less like an onscreen gag. Quartz-Deaver was nice to see from a world-building aspect and to show some of the ripple effects in a post "Team Kasstianity vs Team OCW" world. These same effects are beautifully mirrored later on in the show. Great Solo Writing from PAPA, wait that’s used, DADDY, wait that’s weird, FATHER Trance as he explains his actions. Mugen and Doc have a clever and petty battle of 1up-manship. Concussion Storylines Concussion angle is genius from a writer's perspective given the way in which OCW takes place and I'm upset I didn't think of it sooner. What better way to showcase it then this banger EMP-Terra promo that is probably my Promo of the Night Terra consistently tries to run from, and hide her past from Sue as it keeps catching up to her. At the same time, we have the increasingly overpowering heel undertones coming from our general manager, EMP. Before, we knew she wasn't a nice person but we just thought she was a little crazy and chaotic. By this point, it's pretty clear she's just a jerk, which sets up the sequence after our main event perfectly. Great work from all parties and I guess what they say is true, "Absolute power packed into a thicc 4"11 frame corrupts absolutely" Marcus-Jasmin Not a fan of this one because it felt like it very much took place in a vacuum. We start with a reference to one of Aisu's mask. With this, came no mention of his status with TWC, his attempted retirement, or his interaction with our NA Champion. To give the benefit of the doubt, the characters or the people writing them may have no idea of any of these events so I can excuse them for not digging deeper on Aisu. The next one I can't give the same benefit to. Throughout the whole promo, there is no mention of Marcus turning on John. Marcus is just a pure Babyface in this promo. We can't even use the whole "Well he likes her so he's nice to her'' reasoning because building off of Jasmin taking a firm anti-TWC stance last week, this would have been the perfect opportunity for Marcus to show how committed he is to her and talk to her with his light skin 360 waves in her ear like: "I choose you over everything bebegurl Forget Christian Garcia Forget John Carter It's just you and me, locked in til’ the end" Instead, we got the same Babyface Marcus that was too honorable to attack Christian Garcia earlier in the show, that exists in stark contrast with the Monster Heel Marcus that laid John Carter out for literally 6 whole minutes(I counted). This double-sucks because this could be remedied by having the feud be a Triple Threat. You have Snarky Garcia laughing cause he's turned them on each other and saying "Whatever happened to bros before-" you know the rest. On top of that, You have a Defensive and Angry Marcus holding his territory and defending his woman using them pythons. And you can have a Babyface John Carter who will feel wronged by both men and look to get revenge. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this is what's happening and I can only hope TWC literally dieing doesn't get glossed over in favor of other storylines both Marcus and John are in. Kasstianity Kasstianity is feeling the effects of this economic recession as they have to say goodbye to yet another member. Given all the actual FPR chicanery during the tag match, Chris, the character, saying "I let McMichaels get that victory, after all" was something that I did not enjoy reading. That being said, the end of this promo referencing Mujera and leading up to a faceoff between her and Kass was nicely done. +1 Point for Conciseness. +1 Point for World Building. And +1 Point for Giving me A Reason to watch (read) next week. Between the Cody Hagen storyline, Chris Greene's recent run of form and whatever will happen with La Mujera, Kasstianity has found a way to keep itself relevant and in multiple storylines without trying to TAKE OVER THE WORLD (dun dun dun). It's a shame Harvey is still crying over spilt blood. Interlude I just finished writing the whole RP Section and THERE'S NO P3 ON THE SHOW. I don't know when's the last time that's happened but that's crazy. Rebuilding Hito This rebuilding Hito package was sick and nicely picked up where the last one left off. While part of me is disappointed he got booked last week and we ended up having to see him too early, another part of me thinks it’s a nice way for Hito to get some feedback and do little course corrections to make his proper return even more of a spectacle than I think it will be. Thoroughly hyped. Aisu Retires Like a True Wrestler Not a big fan of this one large in part to the whole retiring cliche it relied upon. Not only is it overdone, but I don’t think it makes much logical sense. If Aisu wins, does he retire and vacate the championship? If he loses, are we gonna get another promo from him saying goodbye that can be potentially interrupted again. While you could say that these are reasons to keep watching and stay invested, none of those outcomes seem that fun. OWEN’s voice promos are still a WIP but we’re slowly but surely getting there. Way more character and presence than some of the earlier ones and now just gotta focus on pacing both on the mic and in the video but the man already knows this. The video in general also ran a bit long but there were quite a few vid promos that ran long on this show. Marisa Welch-Mac vs Harri Etiquette Amazing clash of styles between the Explosive style of Marisa (guess you could say she’s a bombshell), and the hyper-acrobatic style of Harri. Amazing Comeback Win for Marisa against the New Champ, Big Props for sticking in there and securing the W. However, this brings to mind some thoughts about the game and how it works in the competitive environment. 2k22 thus far has proven to be way more incredibly volatile than 2k19 ever was. Even at the end of the cycle for 2k19 where we were all closer together in skill, it was way easier to predict matches and there was more of a sense of rankings and more separation between the ranks. Why is that? Could be a couple reasons. Could be because the game was such a drastic shift that all of a sudden a lot of “legacy” skills were completely abolished and everyone was on a more even ground. Or it could be because in replace of reversal management strategy, there are now infinite reversals which take a lot of the decision-making out of the game as “Just Reverse” takes you a lot further than it used to. Now, whatever your thoughts on that may be aside, it makes these sort of Non-Title Matches way harder to gauge. On the one hand, it might make matches seem more like the roll of a dice and less interesting, on the other, you never know what can happen. For every Quartz-Mac match, we also get a Quartz-Wrex or a Harri-Marisa match and from a pure storytelling aspect it makes things way more interesting especially as “The Card” is way more open than it ever has been as you can have someone like Hanzo come out of nowhere and go on a little streak against established people. New Opportunities and New Matches (in theory) exist now more than ever. Final Thoughts Really liked BOTH shows of 2022. I feel like we’ve come at the new year with some new energy which is exactly what you want to see after taking a break. Now this could also be because I’ve gotten some rejuvenated energy but either way, I’m enjoying it and can’t wait till next week. See y’all then.
