The House That God Built, Part II
Christian Garcia replied to Christian Garcia's topic in Promo Room!
The tape skips again, this time dated '9/23/2022'. The camera is once again held to face Blake, who has a beard flecked with gray and longer hair now. He's dressed sharply, and appears to be in some kind of office. Blake: My name is Blake Cooper Hathaway. I'm a retired independent professional wrestler and sports journalist from Aurora, Colorado. I've been doing a little research into the career of mixed-martial-artist turned professional wrestler Charlotte Jasmin Kaffee. She's a close personal friend of mine, as was her former mixed-martial arts coach. Blake: I have evidence that I want to share with you, the OCW Universe. You're not being told the whole truth. And even if I've left my wrestling days behind, you deserve to know what you're dealing with. Blake: And I think my friend deserves people in her corner who care about her health. But to do that, there's some other stuff I gotta do first. A woman's voice can be heard off to the side. Woman: Mister Dupree will see you now, sir! The tape skips forward again. Blake has a thin-lipped, sardonic smile, and lifts a small card, holding it close to the camera. "Managerial license. B.C. Hathaway. Signed, Tiberius Dupree." Blake: I have to speak to you guys as loudly as I can. That means I gotta get this message out on TV. You'll see me after Red Sun Rising. -
The House That God Built, Part II
Christian Garcia replied to Christian Garcia's topic in Promo Room!
There's the sound of a tape ejecting, and another being entered. This tape is dated the same day, but is much later at night. It's the interior of a relatively small townhome. A window reveals the Denver skyline. Muffled by walls, a woman can be heard vomiting. It sounds painful. Blake: Whoever's watching this? I'm done with this shit. I can't watch this anymore. Blake stomps his way towards the sound, and to a closed door. Blake knocks on it fiercely, only his hand visible in the video frame. When he speaks again, there's a barely-concealed hint of anger in his gentle tone. Blake: You decent, darlin'? Can I come in? Jasmin's voice comes through raspy and weak, like every syllable weights a ton. Jasmin: I'm okaaaay. Jus' gimme a minu- He doesn't give her a minute, opening the door and making sure to catch the poor girl in frame. She's laying on the floor, and she's noticeably very thin. She looks far more muscular than she ever has in her OCW career, but also thinner. Her shins are also noticeably bruised. Blake: Mary, mother of God, Charlie Kaffee, what in the fuck are you thinking? Jasmin: Happens everrry time... Blake: And that's supposed to make me feel better!? What is this!? Jasmin props herself up against the edge of the bathtub, looking at Blake with half-lidded eyes and giving him a shaky thumbs up. Jasmin: Jus' cuttin' weight... gotta make... championship weight... Blake: Woman, I don't give a fuck if you've gotta make weight, you need a doctor. Did Felix tell you to do this? Jasmin's look suddenly takes a turn for the concerned. Jasmin: N-no, this is normal, everybody does it. Blake: I do not. Care. If everyone does it. Did Felix tell you to cut weight? How much have you cut? Jasmin: I dunnoooo... There's a long, unnerving pause. The tape is ejected, and then another tape replaces it. This one is marked a week later, around the same time. Blake has a front seat to a fight between Jasmin Kaffee and a woman notably shorter and smaller than her. They're about the same size weight-wise, however, but Jasmin looks like a ghost compared to the fit, healthy-looking opponent. It's the end of a round, and Jasmin sits in her corner, being coached by Christian Garcia. Her shins are swollen, and starting to turn purple. CG: Check those FUCKING leg kicks, Jasmin! You are letting her eat you alive! Jasmin: Coach- CG: Check the leg kick, take her down, and put the elbows on her, you are bigger than her, USE IT! Jasmin: Coach- CG: We are down a round for the first time in your career, we CANNOT let this continue, do you understand? Jasmin: Coach, I can't- CG: Yes, you can! Blake's breathing is unsteady. Angry. The camera trembles slightly. The referee comes, takes a look, and motions for Jasmin to come on. She does, noticeably staggering with her first couple of steps. The tape then fast-forwards. Jasmin's standing with her opponent at the center of the cage, the announcer and referee between them. The referee holds a shiny silver belt. Announcer: And NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW! COMBAT SPORTS INTERNATIONAL! BANTAMWEIGHT! CHAMPION! OF THE WOOOOOOORLD! Jasmin "Rou Garou" Kaffee! The belt is handed over to an elated, grimacing Jasmin, and the tape is ejected. A new tape, from after midnight the next morning, shows a piece of paper with some numbers written on it. Blake: Her weight at her last physical, after her last fight, was 180. To make championship weight she had to drop to 135. Fourty-five pounds. Blake: What in the sam hill are they doing? -
The video we're shown now has some visual tearing and color aberration that marks it as an older wrestling tape. The date is marked 9/23/2016. It's a small indy show in a baseball park. The song 'Who Shot Ya?' by Notorious BIG can be heard as two men make their way to the ring. One of them is a shorter Caucasian, with noticeable knee braces over his white-on-black tights. The other is a younger, un-tattooed, thinner Christian Garcia, his hair tied in a high bun rather than the usual dyed comb-over he has now. The tape is skipped forward, and the camera is revealed to be a handheld camera. It's currently being held in 'Selfie' mode by the caucasian man. Blake Cooper: Ay yo, it's me, it's me, it is YOUR BOY B.C., and I'm here live with the biggest fan of the Last Chancers in the world... Atlas! Spencer! Kaffee! The man is clearly faking a smile as he shifts the camera a little bit to reveal a younger, shorter-haired, less-tattooed Jasmin Kaffee holding a two-or-three year old child. She looks miserable, thin, pale, and sickly, but she's smiling too, and the kid seems pleased. Blake: Say hey for the camera, little buddy! How'd you like your first wrestlin' show with Uncle B and Tio G? Atlas: Yay! Jasmin weakly joins in. Jasmin: Yaaaay! He throws his hands up with excitement, and Blake throws up one of his too. Another man shows up, looking oddly like an older version of current OCW Superstar Jared McGregor, Junior, and also gives a smile to the camera. Jared Sr.: Oiiiii! There's the little man of the hour! See, I'm not so scary! Atlas still views Jared with suspicion, but Jasmin gives him a playful tickle and gets the little guy to laugh! Soon, Jared joins in, and the little fella's having too much fun to even think of being scared of the Irishman. Blake, however, isn't faking his smile as much, especially when a familiar voice joins in. CG: Jasmin, we got places to be, let's go! Vamanos! All smiles fade, except for Jasmin's. Jared looks concernedly at the camera, before turning to the approaching CG. Jared: Oi, Felix, gimme a minute here, she wanted an autograph- CG: She can get one later, she's got a fight next week. Jared: Felix, you can wait five bloody seconds. CG walks into view, giving Jared a puzzled look, and the elder McGregor stands his ground. He's shorter than CG, about five foot ten, but he doesn't look intimidated. CG: Something wrong, Jared? Jared: It's a fucking picture, Felix. Give me a second. CG: One. Jared huffs, and turns around, giving Jasmin an apologetic look. Jared: My son's got his first game of the season, and I promised him I wouldn't miss it this time, otherwise I'd go to your fight, love. Next time, for sure. Jasmin: No, no, it's okay. it's okay, it's okay. Life happens. Jared: Good luck. He gives the camera a glance, then looks back at Jasmin, patting her on the shoulder before walking off, intentionally bumping into CG on the way over. The other man shoots him an ugly look, then looks over at Blake with mild annoyance. CG: See you next week, B.

I don't believe you would demand a shot over someone else. Another reason I'm not too fussed with it, along with you two having some unfinished business. I know whatever y'all do I'm almost certainly gonna enjoy it anyway :))

Part THE SECOND! Doc doesn't take this disrespect lying down, GAHDDAMN! My man came out here and called Owen bitch-made with his whole chest! I'm pretty sure Doc's supposed to be the heel now, which was what confused me about their feud at first, but now that I kinda see where the lines are, I enjoy this feud even more than I already did! Parca and Dillinger. Good promo, don't have much else to say about it. Dennis continuing to be a dark enabler for the worst parts of Gran Primero, and it's a great dynamic. Always has been, always will be. Tony said mans could run the fade! TONY TOP GUY! Harvey really needs to either grow something on his face or shave that fucking pube beard, though. Man's gotta be 32 but he looks 16. Get outta here, bum, before someone comes and elbows you again. My most anticipated promo of the night, the new Roy Brown! I love this gimmick change, I love this new style, I love everything about it. Man's a whole menace now, I love it, and I love the way he portrays this serious, no-bullshit character even with a sort of hokey mask, and actually works that into the character! I'm sold. Strap a rocket to his ass. I forgot to mention KC Barrett vs. Deaver and I just noticed the position of KC's promo, so- nice to see Deaver get a singles W. Been a while since I've seen him on his own, and good to see he's mostly copasetic on the sticks. GJ buddy! Anyway, back in order, AT3 promo! I don't have strong feelings about this team yet, since they were just 'the dedicated babyface tag team' when the GOAT Academy started, and they're still just kind of a classic white-meat babyface tag team, but I don't hate them. I think they work really well as a couple of studs who happen to team together occasionally, but mainly focus on singles goals. It's a unique fit, and it works for them, as opposed to TWC who, up to recently, chase tag team gold to the detriment of their other endeavors. Nirvana reject... mysterious... but tbh, he came out to Tool, so I'm automatically a mark. Way to take a loss and reframe it to feel like it's insignificant! I'm looking forward to seeing Chance vs. KC soon! Man, I know Gonzalo's kind of a dick, Hanzo, but the knucks? Really? That man was gonna throw hands respectfully with you and you pulled out the knucks cause he gave you the ol' San Juan Llameda Slap. Fuck outta here! TERRAAAAAAAAAA (x2) ;-; PLEASE, SWEETIE, DON'T GO INTO THE NOT-SO-GOOD LIGHT! I think I know where this is going, and I know nothing I say is going to change it, but that doesn't make it hurt any less! I AM IN AGONY. I am once again asking Debbie D. to step on me like she stepped on La Mujera. Please. Great match, surprisingly close, but Debbie mounted a solid comeback and put a W in the W column! I dunno what this mystery shit is, but I have a strong suspicion as to who is involved with it. I love the writing regardless, it's very well done, and it's clear someone is very amused by OCW: Civil War. Damn, what a heartbreaker, but what a CLUTCH UP from the Wolves! Biggest upset of the night, by far, and props to Nate for taking a sort of dud feud (at least at the end of it) and bouncing back STRONG! We have a new, convincing tag team challenger right up and ready to go again! Oh, no, where da Bestie at? Maybe you should have actually talked to her when you had time? Ah well, it's okay. Maybe next week! Ooo! Beeg tag team match tings! Can't wait to see how Spider finds a way to ruin it and drag the rest of TWC into ruining it with him. However, I really hope Aries is wrong about Spider being willing to enter Kahoots with the Kasstians, cause... Imma keep it a buck fiddy, dog, I've only been here about a month, and I put up with a lot, I put up with JOHN, but I'm a good Christian girl, I love Jesus, beer, and my son, and I ain't about this cult lifestyle. Main event was good! Much closer than I thought it would be (x2) and Harris looked nice and strong for when he eventually gets another swing at a belt, be it the tag team titles or another singles title! Love it, love it, love it! I already made my opinions known on Nate vs. Quartz. Still gonna watch it, still gonna mark out. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting Emp to turn heel, but I don't hate it! It feels in-character considering what all Valk has been through that her LAST LAST LAST OCW match be her getting fucked on by her friends one last time. Can relate, girlfrand. Overall! Awesome show! Everyone did awesome, except me breaking FPR. It be what it be, what it be. See you next week, guys!

Alrighty, let me start my review like this b/c I'm not waiting for Page 2. I do not like Nate Ortiz being the CCW title challenger. I understand it, but I don't like it. I would have rathered Colin. At like, Lution or Cide, our BIG ppvs? Sure, fine, I'd have been okay with it. I can't say Nate doesn't deserve a shot, he's been in the game for long enough that just showing up warrants a shot, but again, I'd much rather see new faces at the top than a revolving door of the same few people. It's Jake, and it's Nate, so I know it'll be good regardless, and that's the main reason why I'm going to accept it and move on. The other being that it's Jake's decision who he defends against, and it's not my business to tell him otherwise. Anyways, onto the show itself! NOTE ON MY STUFF: Sorry for the text speed on the Jasmin / Marcus promo. It rendered slower in my video editor. By the time I got word back, I'd already sent it in :/ I have yet to understand anything P3 does and I'm perfectly fine with that. Aries vs. John. I tacitly approve all pronoun-related jokes / memes from Aries. Match was WAY more one-sided than I expected it to be, but I've always known Louis was good at the game, so no surprise that he did well. Just... damn! To paraphrase the Boondocks, 'What did John do to get mans THAT MAD?' Terra. Baby. Are you okay? Do you need a hug? Sue can take a night off, or you can come in and collect a Jasmin hug, or you can go get an ice cream or something, BABY IT'S OKAY PLEASE DON'T BE SAD! :((( VALKYRIE. I KNOW YOU'RE GONNA READ THIS FORUM POST, YOU BITCH. YOU BROUGHT ME INTO THIS COMPANY AND I ONLY EVER WANTED ONE THING FROM YOU. GIVE. ME. THE SHOES. I AM NO LONGER ASKING. Jokes aside, I'm glad Emp's getting the match she wants, as if there was ever any doubt, and since they both don't really 'play' this game there's not really a ton of pressure or expectations, so good for them! Match is gonna be fantastic! I don't feel sorry for Samsin because he brought this ass-whuppin on himself. You made Wrex mad! Why would you make Wrex mad? I know what he does when he gets mad, bro, you got off EASY! Lucky bitch. All that said and done, I'm enjoying the Marcus / Samsin saga (although I am biased as to who I want to finally put it to bed.) "Age of X" is taking OCW to new heights. Get the punctuation down and keep working on your character, buddy, your matches and FPR are solid, so you're already doing better than a lot of rookies... and non-rookies...and perennial rookies... just don't burn yourself out, bud :)) Jasmin Kaffee does not endorse the views of Trash Spider or Trash Spider associates. Verde getting a holler from Papa Kass! Not the person I expected, for sure, but not a terrible pick. I wasn't here when Johnny and Kareem and Jerome were active, but I love their characters. I love their look and their attitude. I love Johnny's massive meat mountain... PAUSE! I really want to see the twins go IN on these characters. I'm excited! THE BEEF! A mirror of how Derek got the title, but this time it's Claudio on top! Bodes well for the next pay-per-view, I hope! :D I'm EXCITED!!!! Love the Magic Empire call-out in the SANCTUM bet promo. It's little things like that that I love to see in OCW, and the fact that we got to see Owen Akeem, The African Dream, in OCW, is the TIGHTEST shit I've ever seen. Surprised to see Horse back, but not unhappy! This feud is good for Horse if he decides to stick around full time, and it also elevates Hito by name value association. Good choice by Horse and Hito to go this route, and I don't forsee this going badly. I look forward to seeing where Drip Eater and Horse Boi go from here! IDK what Reese is doing here, but I don't hate it! Any Colin promo is guaranteed to be a little silly, a little funny, a little ha-ha funny man! This went over well and gave a much needed giggle on a show with plenty of gaffes AND serious spots to choose from. Speaking of gaffes... Holy fucking hell, Owen gained a power level putting on that Akeem outfit. Heartbreaking L, but he looked fucking amazing even if he didn't land that many chops. Mission failed! We'll get 'em next time! Speaking of more gaffes... Holy SHIT I hate Harri Etiquette, and I mean that in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY! She's such an insufferable cunt and I'm here for every second of it! I like how it's also got Quartz there to establish that there are no faces and heels in the War Against Kass- you're either on the OCW side, or you're on the Kass side. Time to pick a side, mofos, but be forewarned, I hear Kasstianity has GREAT healthcare benefits, including dental and vision! More to come in the next post! 1/2

At the end of the day, some of us are getting a little overzealous about the word 'retire'. I have my opinions on the matter, moreso that they align with John (they have since Ric Flair 'retired'), but that's my opinion. You're not stupid or crazy or anything if you disagree. I don't think it really takes away from EMP being back- we're so used to this wrestling trope that I think the complaints are less about the act itself and more a performative condemnation. IDK, just my eyeballs. TLDR I agree with the person who said Rust did it right. Emp coming back was still a nice surprise and I hope she gets something good out of her return.

and all it took was me telling Ancient Kent to move over, old star

At least for the CG / Wrex promo, I did all the editing on that, so any sound design issues or anything like that is on me. Wrex is just generally easy to work with and always puts up good work.
-
I will just say a good portion of the reason the CG / Parca feud / build might not have worked as well is that I've been working double shifts. I had NO TIME to make video RPs and barely any time to submit text or do my matches / editing. Brian carried the entire feud on his back, mostly just based on my input and what I typed out on a google doc. Frankly, I gave him garbage and he made something decent out of it, so hats off to him. I should have been shouldering more work, and it's on me for not having a really good work/life balance or a solid sleep schedule lmao Other than that, I'm not really surprised that some ppl don't really see the reason for the build or whatever. Not everyone pays attention to my content, which is something I've struggled with accepting in terms of OCW stuff (Jake probably still hasn't gotten the hairs he's ripped out from between his fingers), but we live and we learn. It was an attempt at a good story, and I accomplished what I set out to do. El Parca is a bitch coward and I'll see him in hell.

Any talk about the match, the decision to do the in-match interruption was on me. I just didn't do the editing so we might have mis-timed the interruption in terms of the match. It's a learning experience.

After some speculation, the reason for the unplanned absence of Jasmin Kaffee from her scheduled Future Investment match has been resolved! The OCW rookie was found in the backstage parking lot during the match, severely injured and unconscious! The former MMA women's champion is confirmed to have suffered a detached retina in her left eye, as well as cuts and lacerations to the area around said eye. There is no timetable for her to be cleared for competition, nor confirmation as to who or what attacked her backstage, though OCW officials have assured the fans that they will find the culprit as soon as possible. So far, no member of the OCW Women's Division has claimed responsibility for this heinous attack.

This is Jake. Jake expresses his opinion on your opinion in a respectful manner and doesn't insult your intelligence. He explains himself calmly and without invalidating your personal feelings. Be like Jake.
-
Written RPs TerraMiSue/Nerd Bash and TerraMiSue / the Bigot. Terra and Sue have a great dynamic, and Jake and Jamie bounce off of each other as well in writing as they do in gameplay. Their arc is a lot more wholesome, at least thus far, than most 'wrestling marriage' angles. No one is trying to break up their marriage, there's no hints of some grand betrayal, it's just two women loving women and all that entails. Oh, and they're wrestlers! That isn't lost in the shuffle either, which I can appreciate. Also OCW said women's rights, FUCK YOU. Hito-Gui I'll be honest, I don't particularly care for Hito-Gui, as I'm not as deep into the Lotus Lore™ as some of the older heads in this fed, but I gotta give the writer props for doing an excellent job establishing his character and hitting the ground running with him. Even with a loss (that I'm pretty sure booking didn't think he was gonna have) to Chris Verde, Hito-Gui still feels like a very present and real threat. That takes some serious writing chops to do while also not glossing over or ignoring recent events. Excellent job to the writer on this one. IS THIS DARK REESE? The Clark Effect with Reese is pretty fun, as it seems like Mark might be leaning a bit into his meaner side for this feud. I'm not sure if I buy a full heel turn from him right now, but if he's working heel in Wembley, hoot, I won't complain! Segments Kass vs. Horse While I don't think personally I'd have had this segment go on last, I don't particularly hate it! Kass vs. Horse is a perfect 'special attraction' / one-time hype match like a Brock vs. Goldberg II or something like that. Horse coming out to his old theme and with an older look popped me, as well, though I would have rathered him keep that half-paint look he was rocking at the start of this game. Also RIP Horse Pyro. Maxx vs. Archer Maxx name-dropping THREE ROOKIES who have been involved with Archer, Feinstein, or Dillinger on this promo is some fucking CONTINUITY. It really crystallizes Maxx's motivation as a babyface- he's tired of rich old fucks holding down the new stars, and he's gonna do something about it. The 'If Archer Wins, I Own Edwards' thing is also cool! There's so many things you can do with that, even to the extent of, if Jamie and Maxx decided not to go full-time 'Nexus Cena' with it, have Maxx wrestle under a mask or something. The possibilities are endless for two creative minds like Maxx and Jamie. Matches Damn we really said FPR was a suggestion, this show, huh? Also, it's apparently bad form to nominate your own matches, but I don't care. TerraMiSue vs. Nerd Bash This match was fun to play, fun to watch back, and generally just a good time all around. You can tell from watching everyone involved is comfortable with everyone else, and nobody looked out of place or like they couldn't keep up. Everyone got their chance to shine and do some good work, there was some tag team maneuvers, and the match itself told a story. Can't get any better than that. Fuck you, I'm giving Jake and Jamie all the flowers tonight.
-
I'll be sure to do two matches, three video promos, one being post-match video during a 6 day work week where I only have 6 hours of free time a day, which has to be divided between onboarding and driving two and from a work station two towns over, and sleeping, in the future. There's nothing wrong with it being on the web show. People need content, and I feel like it adds a layer that wasn't there previously. Your take is valid, but I don't see how i did anything incorrect. Just didn't have the time to make it a video, and felt like I had enough 'screen time' as it is. Didn't want to take away from anyone else.
-
RPs Feinstein / Derek / Stephen: I get the feeling something nefarious is going down with Feinstein and Derek, and I really like it. The GOAT Academy is a big group, and I think that it should have multiple important storylines, like John's 'reboot', CG vs. Cort, and Feinstein's 'financial aid' can all happen at the same time without crowding each other. That's the beauty of the Academy being more a training class than an actual aligned stable. Harri and Stacy: Harri is fucking wild, and I have no idea what else to say. She's just an insane, buckwild character, and every segment with her brings a chaotic energy that no one else in OCW really has at the moment. I don't always 100 percent adore everything she does, but it's always uniquely her. The Clark Effect with C-Note: C-Note has defied my expectations and come out the gate swinging with good video work, solid matches, and good character work. I like that little possible dig at Garcia. Be careful who you disrespect, young man. CG might be a kinder man, now, but I'd like to think he's proven he's not afraid to settle a dispute in the ring... VIDEOS Drunk Primero: Drunk Primero is the Solomon Caine storyline I wanted but never got. Mans has lost his shit. He's clearly not the same hungry, ambitious little mongrel who won the belt. Something's changed, and I look forward to seeing what exactly that is. You already know what got first place Battle In The Center of The Mind: I initially groaned in frustration when I saw the blue-ish static. Fucking Ijitu. I like face Quartz, Red Quartz, Big Dog Quartz, whatever you want to call him. He's fresh and new. But the idea, the mere INKLING that we could get a story with Quartz actively acknowledging and confronting his inner self(selves?) brings me immensely. If he wasn't already booked up for Lution, that's a segment I could see going on right before the main event of Night One or Two. MATCH Jordan Trance vs. Chance Williams was just real, fucking, good. Lots of twists and turns, no one really pulling ahead for an absurd amount of time, and an ending sequence that had you on the edge of your seat, as it's already been established that Chance's Flying Knee can come when you least expect it, but despite failing twice, Jordan was able to hit the Dragon Shout and put the match away. Just good organic storytelling from two great handlers. You love to see it!

Since we're all having a lovely conversation I will add my two cents! Spoiler alert here: I like doing longform reviews, in theory, but I feel like I'll offend someone if I tell them their stuff doesn't interest me or I don't like it, so I think I'll just stick to a few things that stuck out to me, be they good or bad. Cutlass seems like the natural challenge to Sanctum, since they were in that sick 2v1 that also managed to not make them look weak. I originally was of the opinion that James soloing the final three was weird, but in hindsight, it was more a credit to both teams than a simple burial of Cutlass. I think a single team tag match between the two will be much more straightforward and equally competitive, and I can't call who'd win that match, especially with Bax being VERY good at this game from what I've seen. I really like this face Quartz. That's it. That's the tweet. Combined with the run he had as Ijitu, he gives me "Big Dog" Roman Reigns vibes, where he's a friendly enough dude with a moral compass that isn't afraid to beat the BITCH out of people when they step to him incorrect. Looking forward to seeing the man come back around. I understand Tony has a story to build with three different challengers, but it feels like he's spread out a LOT on the show. I can mostly forgive it since he's a world champion, and in a weird way, it works with his character (at least the way I see it OOC) as the ship that passes by in the night, the champion that everyone looks past when they talk about the scene while he quietly puts away banger after banger. I feel like he's got underdog energy going into this defense, even though in all honesty, the whole field is pretty even save for, in my opinion, one person. Speaking of that one person, I really don't like the new Rust. I don't know if he's going for a MITB '11 CM Punk gimmick, or what his plan is, but it's not landing for me. I can't be a hypocrite and say he doesn't deserve to be in the title picture, b/c he absolutely has the tenure and story required to be in that echelon, but this character just falls a little flat for me. I hope that, if Rust really is taking a break after Lution, Pierre comes back reinvigorated and with something new and exciting for the character. I always expect the best from Pierre, and I know he can deliver. DDE is just becoming Mexican Bullet Club at this point isn't it? I don't mind though! I like that they have a cohesive theme now, even if it doesn't exactly ring with their gimmick. The 'Los Intocables' subname is a diamond tbh and I feel like they should continue to use that as well.

WRESTLER NAME: Jasmin Kaffee HOMETOWN: Walker, Louisiana HEIGHT: 6' 0' WEIGHT: billed at 180 pounds THEME SONG: ??? SIGNATURE MOVE(S) Walk Through Fire (Uranage Slam) Test of Faith (Twister choke) FINISHER(S) Dreamcatcher (Backflip into deadlift Bridging German Suplex) Notable Feuds: Ambition- Jasmin Kaffee v. Evelyn Parker ACCOLADES: 1x Combat Sport International Womens Featherweight Champion BIOGRAPHY Little is known about Jasmin Kaffee's early life. What is known is that she was born Jasmin Delache, had no father figure in her life, and was raised by a single mother who was in and out of the prison system, along with her grandmother, until the age of 17. During this time she was a cheerleader for the Walker Wildcats high school JV/Varsity cheer squad, and scored a 4.0 GPA. Jasmin would find herself a mother of one shortly after graduating, living with the father, who remains unidentified to the general public per her request, and entering the workforce as an assistant cheer coach for her alma mater, while also waiting tables at night and tending bar on the weekends. A natural athlete, she would take up kickboxing as a hobby to fill her time. A sudden shift that included her partner's sudden disappearance would lead to Jasmin quitting all but her waitressing job in order to take care of her child. However, it wasnt enough to make ends meet. Jasmin would find herself in and out of group housing. It was during one of these off periods where fitness and wrestling coach Felix Garcia would meet her, cornering one of his trainees for a fight in New Orleans and training at the gym Jasmin frequented. The two formed an immediate and ironclad friendship, to the point that Garcia would be named her son's godfather within two years time. Her athletic talent apparent, Garcia allowed Kaffee to move in to his gym in Angel Fire, New Mexico and train full time, which led to her pursuing a career in MMA. She would go undefeated in the regional circuit before being offered a contract by Combat Sport International's Dimitri Czarny after a scouting session. She would rack up 7 wins before competing for the title, taking the nickname 'Rougarou' after the werewolves of Cajun-Creole folklore. Kaffee would to on to dominate CSI's 145-er division due to her abnormally large size, stellar striking, and a rapidly-evolving freestyle wrestling game. She would end up setting a promotional record for both control time and takedowns completed in her championship fight against Ladislava Shostakova, a fight which could be best described as Kaffee repeatedly throwing Shostakova to the floor, weathering hail mary submissions, and maintaining a slow, methodical pace while grinding her opponent down to a lopsided unanimous decision. Jasmin would defend her title five times before showing a sudden interest in professional wrestling. Courting offers from multiple promotions, Jasmin showed a particular interest in OCW- where her former coach, now known as Christian Garcia, resided. Moving to Black Brook, New York, she would fight her last bout with only a three week camp nor serious training, utterly demolishing her opponent, Natalia Vera. Plans were made for a superfight between her and the bantamweight contender and fellow superstar Randi Rose, though events would conspire to cancel that bout. Said event was Jasmin participating in a wrestling match on OCW Ambition against Sue Plex in a losing effort. The event sent shockwaves through the MMA world, and CSI head Czarny launched a blistering tirade against the champion before stripping her of her belt and terminating her contract. It was later revealed that Jasmin had not intentionally signed off on a wrestling match, and as such, OCW offered her a developmental deal. She would continue to appearon Ambition in the coming months and on non-televised shows, amassing a televised 1-3 record and facing the likes of Lotus Flojo, Harri Etiquette, Evelyn Parker, and La Mujera Obscura in short, non-televised 'trial runs'. She would make her official debut on the June 3rd edition of RIOT with a one-sided loss to Debbie D.

The scene comes in on a general hospital in northern New York, a ways away from the bright lights of OCW TV. Christian Garcia sits up in a hospital bed, stitches prominent on both his left brow and the right side of his nose, along with severe bruising around his eyes and the right side of his face. Beside him is Jasmin Kaffee, whose hair is tied up in a messy, uneven ponytail. She looks out of sorts, though not nearly as bad as her longtime coach. Jasmin: You're... you're not medically cleared. CG: I have paperwork that says otherwise. Jasmin: Christian- She stumbles over the name, like it's a foreign word. Jasmin: How are you not concussed? You got hit in the head with a shovel, with a bat, with a stop sign, with STEEL STEPS! You required 40 stitches and 20 more surgical staples. Your face was so swollen the day after Turmoil that you couldn't hardly open your mouth! If you so much as twitch funny, you're gonna start bleeding again. Jasmin: This isn't worth it. I know this is all we have now, but it's not worth you ruining your life. I can do it. I'll shoulder the weight for both of us. But you can't put yourself through this again. CG: I won't have to. Ross and I have settled it. We're square with the house. I still haven't really processed... the rest of it. CG appears deep in thought. Jasmin: He's still your friend to you? CG: No, no... after everything you've been through, even before what happened to me. We're not friends anymore. But we WERE. And I'm telling you, this isn't him. Jasmin: These people put you through hell, Ch-Chris. You gave them everything you had, and they spit in your face. They took your money. They took your car. They took the futures you were fighting to build for Maria and Marci. They took away my career. They took your home. And now, one of them tried to take your livelihood away from you. Jasmin: And all you can think to do is march back in there after bribing a medical professional to pretend you're not hurt. CG: I didn't bribe anyone- Jasmin: I can't keep letting you lie to me. I can't. CG looks pensively at the wall. CG:: I'm not going back on TV until Turmoil. Probably won't even be wrestling. Jasmin: And if you are, what then? CG: I'll go do my job. Jasmin doesn't say a word. They look at each other for a long, silent moment, before Jasmin stands up and begins to walk to the door. She pauses, however, to look back at him. Jasmin: You gonna be there Friday? CG: I am. Jasmin: Good...yeah...good. Jasmin leaves the room, slamming it shut with surprising force and causing CG to wince as he looks after his protege, a distant, thoughtful look in his features as he shifts in his bed to look at a mirror, seeing again how bad the damage is. The man in the mirror isn't visible to the camera. CG: I'm not that man anymore. That's not me. He sits back in the bed, looking towards the door and speaking to someone who clearly isn't there. CG: That's not me.
