Alright and we’re back to regularly scheduled programming. Let’s get right on shall we?

 

Looks like we’re gonna continue the Ashley vs Valk fued, I’m alright with that. Decent little RP with the bad guys… gals invading Valkyrie’s beloved Finland. Shock horror! We’ll see where this goes, could be some good shit.

 

Joopiter vs Odon Klein was pretty decent. Think this is my first look at Klein and I quite like the goth-Nazi look that’s going on, looks proper scary init. Like I said a decent start to the in-ring action on a show full of decent in-ring action.

 

My RP with Doc was supposed to go after my segment with Cobra, it makes a bit more sense when you read it in that order.

 

Good promo delivery from KD, considering the incredibly low standards set in relation to OCW acting. Could’ve possibly been a bit more adventurous in terms of the video content but you can’t complain when someone actually delivers a promo with relative confidence.

 

Aerith vs Terra coming soon? Aerith vs Dragana? Seems that way, I don’t mind it. We should be able to get a clear new number one contender for Valkyrie’s title out of it, so all in all you can’t complain.

 

Telos vs El Parca again was a decent little match. I dig the new Telos look with the suit and the new theme song, does remind me a bit of Baron Corbin though. I like El Parca, he’s got a good look and he’s an okay writer from what I’ve seen, just needs to improve on the sticks and then hopefully he can build some momentum. Telos got the much needed W, but Parca still looked good in defeat.

 

The B17, Doc Green, H20 promo was very very nice indeed. Babyface turn for H20, I don’t mind it. B17 made me laugh with the ‘Cry god damnit!’ line. Potentially could be seeing a stonking triple threat here, yes please!

 

H20 vs Tre Golden was actually a fun match for me. The new H20 look was a bit questionable, but it was supposed to be so it makes sense. Some nice near falls here, especially off the spear to Harvey. Tre seemed in control for most of the match but Harvey was able to pull it off in the end with the lovely RipTide. Again, H20 needed this W, and was able to get it, so good shit!

 

Oh boy, after the match that sneaky little scoundrel Cort Marshall with his sneaky little heel turn, loved it. Didn’t see it coming so soon but made a nice little surprise. Tre actually has a fued he can sink his teeth into now, so I’m looking forward to it! Interested to see where Cort goes with his character now, there are many different paths so it should be fun.

 

Oh dear, unfortunately the main event was plagued with some of the worst FPR I’ve seen for a while. There were countless attempted crapples from KD which really took me out of it, then there was two knockdowns into a submission that I remember too from KD. Unfortunately, a legend really should know better, especially in a god damn Riot Main Event. Fortunately, Doc is the fucking bomb so the match had a pretty nice story with Doc trying to reduce the big man down to size, and eventually being able to. Shame about the music too, but there is some new music for Doc on the way don’t worry! Overall though, this main event was one to forget.

 

On the whole however, Riot was a relatively good show. Very digestible, some good writing and mostly good TV matches. Got some new faces and a few new fueds to get excited for moving forward! Can’t really ask for more, other than a quality main event. Good shit!

 

MOTN: Tre vs H20

 

RPOTN: Stuck between the Cort heel turn and the B17 H20 Doc malarkey. I’ll go for Cort because it was a surprise.

Here's my 3 Cents.

 

Roleplay Wise, show was on point, a lot of good char development. Some hiccups with RP's but that just minor quibbles. Example Opening RP running down the various opponents, stating, Flojo could be a contender but is better served as back up sounded strange. Like oh your good enough to compete against me but I need you to be a bodyguard.....

 

Other quibble is El Parca's rps felt to dense, I know the idea is to get char over but as a rookie less is more. We get Parca is a man of honor and he wants to strive to be the best, etc. In my honest opinion it would be better served to possible just keep the RP's to Post match. This is where having someone "FEED" storylines would be nice. Because in El Parca's case he will take an L then another, and keep with the post match, honor and trying gimmick. But lets say he loses another match and the post match interview is him getting frustrated doubting himself, his abilities his purpose in OCW. You could have someone preferably a HEEL try to come in and mentor him in the ways. Which would lead to giving him advice about cutting corners, to survive in OCW etc, maybe he wins a match or 2 with a dirty pin (after a finisher of course) or hits a low blow etc. Then it would have a crisis of conscience! which could then lead to breaking free from said heels grip and BOOM FUED!

 

Spoke to Leo about Kass Entrance. I liked the music, motif etc, rp wise he is keeping it simple, I like the Look, Lose the mask in the ring it looks foolish. I'd probably opt from some paint on face if you want to keep face hidden, just try not to look like The Last Blacksmith who looks like a Juggalo! The whole bit about beating the shit outta a Kalix fan is kind of hilarious. Match felt a bit too long though.

 

3 way rp was long but decent, B17 writing bugs me, its not bad but it doesn't how you say it doesn't have a feel to it. I use dupree as an example, you know what you get in that RP, you feel the char, you know how he would react to certain situations. I don't get that with B17 in fact I don't get that with A LOT of people. It could just be me like for some reason even if b17 is cutting a semi serious promo in my head he sounds like a cheesy comic book villain! Which would be fine except he is supposed to be a lil more serious. It kind of reminds me of that horrible Seth Rollins heel run! HA HA HA JAWN HA HA HA..... I will say prior to week to Lution the Heel turn/attire/music is on point. Just text seems off.

 

I like Cort as a Writer, not a human being. Nice turn I kind of popped IRL, this is a ready made feud for PPV, so means less work for me! I just imagine Cort becoming a top tier champion and the absolute ballache he is going to be.

 

I like how Everett is pretty much a heel at this point because of cobra, street fight sounds fun, again less work! Done!

 

Closing Thoughts!

 

The difference between OCW and everyplace else is we always push for excellence, and by push I mean talk shit until you

A)Improve

B) Get Fed UP

C) Flake

D) I didnt think this far ahead

 

Bottom line we will always have people on your ass if you take shortcuts, so please watch the F.P.R sure they can be minor things, but Crapples shouldn't be a thing at all. AS IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME BECAUSE I HAVE DEMENTIA, if you get reversed and you moonwalk then hit strike your a dipshit, if you get reversed then you try to reverse, don't mash strike, don't moon walk, you try to reverse period.

Quick thoughts on Riot

 

- Joop should have put O'Dad.... I mean Odin away. But the crapple barrage was too much.

 

- The Kalix/Grimm match should have ended after the piledriver off the apron. RIPIP King of the Indies

 

- I wonder if KD intentionally put bad lightbulbs in his fan for that promo. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Always love his vid promos.

 

- Telos is always dressed like a crime boss from Black Dynamite. El Parca clearly hasn't figured out his range. A lot of misses.

 

- Did Elliot ever explain why he's dressed like an Interceptor Javelin from Anthem? Ending got sloppy but good win for Cobra.

 

- This version of Harvey makes me sad. Like the boxer look for Tre. I does remind me of...

.

 

- Storytelling wise, the main was great. That was a good use of the weight detection mechanics when KD wouldn't fall off of the clothesline among other spots. FPR wise, I'm the last one to comment of someone else's FPR (Cause it doesn't exist to me ;)). But yes, unfortunate that the main event was marred with breaks.
