It turns out that I didn't clear the in-marker on my video before exporting, so you all missed some context for the Skadi video. Here it is.

Anthony Baker Tribute:

 

Really opening up in the feels here. I dug it a lot, the edit was nice and getting to see Bakers history & past for those who maybe weren’t here for it was also a very nice touch. The weight of this loss still setting in weeks after the fact is a long term storytelling thing EVERYONE should aspire for their feuds / stories. 

 

The Lobby x EMP x Cold Front:

 

That clip where Jim I assume hands The Lobby mics is a very small thing that I love. The way the clips were used for The Lobby promo was also a nice switch up from the ways we typically do / see standard promos. The one thing that I caught from this video (videos?) is Mac / Pugh both sound PHENOMENAL, that obviously is because it’s their own voices. Now I don’t know if Samsin was voicing himself there but if so, my man, put some emotion into it and get into that bitch. I do not like Rusts voice at all, it doesn’t sound like a real human voice. Now I don’t know if he does the voice changer or just text to speak but I’d personally tinker with the voice but if he’s happy with it then oh well I’ll deal with it. The tag division is heating up and I got a nice laugh out of “Fuck the Sensations.”

 

Antonio Everrett Written RP:

 

Solid read, easy read like always when Tony is dropping WERDZ on us. It’s great to see him back and dipping his toes in the water where he’s comfortable. Curious to see where what path Tony Two Time takes into Lution. 

 

Ashley v. Kaiya:

 

I’m not trying to be like obnoxious or rude, but when you’ve been here for YEARS, you can at least not have the default generic trons. I understand year to year we change the arenas and we always gotta deal with stuff but cmon. Do custom trons or SOMETHING. That red / blue is just as bad imo as a 2k logo being on the tron. Ashley reminds us constantly why she’s one of the best women in the entire roster of OCW, Kaiya’s new look also steps away from the Skadi almost like copy. I’d like to see more from Ashley in a way she goes out of her comfort zone that shows more growth and experimenting with the character. Solid match nonetheless.

 

Perl’s Bargaining Chip:

 

I love when people name their segments. It’s always very small things that add to videos and production stuff. Perl has been on a rather abnormal climb to the top of the womens division and I think that’s a true testament to what OCW is and can be. Perl constantly sticking her head in everyone’s business and just being a ruthless savage is something I like a lot. However, she’s fucking with Deborah which I do. It like. BOOOOOO. 

 

Bolek x Bash Promo:

 

Bolek has been turning a leaf and finding himself in this new babyface like alignment. I was not someone who bought into it through the various fucked things Bolek did in his past but now? I am starting to buy into it. I love how BASH & Bolek are sort of whether intentional or not, are positioning themselves to be each others career long rival. Bolek facing hardship after hardship and BASH almost being there for all of them is another added layer that makes me more intrigued for these two. You can tell that this feud / story will continue on as both guys fade in and out of each others timelines. The Frontline losing added another layer to up BASH being this massive heel while also helping cement Boleks climb to being a proper babyface. 

 

Christine’s New Business Partner:

 

I am not like overly huge on Christine. I think her look is good but she seems kinda “there.” Which isn’t inherently a bad thing but for ME, I wish she was there more. I’d like for her to at some point step out of Draganas shadow and become more of a solo thing where she can show Dragana + OCW she’s capable for it. I do have a feeling that maybe this business partner thing could lead to some tension between the two since that business partner was a bitch. But for now I’m gonna hold on and see where it takes us. 

 

Scotty X v. BV3:

 

Scotty is an interesting case in OCW, he’s someone who I won’t lie, I’ve never been a fan of his look ever. But mans has stuck to his guns and is making his own waves. I really do wish Scotty would pop up more and try to elevate himself but maybe he’s cool with the positions he’s in, if so then hey no harm no foul. Moving onto BV3, I usually don’t like “meme” caw names, but boy… this fucking guy is a STUD. The attire could use some work and I almost wanted to see him have an EC3 esque Tron which I think would be FIRE if able to be executed. The match itself was a solid fucking match. I really like BV3’s moveset and honestly I can’t wait to see him more alongside his growth. Scotty never fails to remind people that dude can fucking bang as well. 

 

Sheldon has a proposition for RyVaughn:

 

The visuals and delivery from this promo + Sheldon were PHENOMENAL. I really have loved seeing Sheldon dive into this madness ever since the Parca loss. Him trying to get RyVaughn into his group was definitely a tall task that he probably should’ve expected wasn’t gonna work. I’d love to see these two continue on this and possibly even fight down the line, but one thing is for sure… FUCK DANNY DRESDEN. The thumbnail for the vid btw is absolute S tier. 

 

Cheryl & Marisa heat things up:

 

The way Cheryl & Marisa have been going at it for all this time you’d expect that they’d be on there 2nd or 3rd match. To think that Cheryl STILL hasn’t faced Marisa for the championship in SOME manner is absolutely crazy to me. I will admit though I feel like the length of videos / how their promos go it is in a territory for me where it’s a bit tiresome. I feel like since it’s been talk talk talk and like a brawl or altercation here and there it keeps leading me on to something I at this point don’t know if I’ll get. Both women obviously have an insane presence in the roster + to each other so I am hoping at Lution we can get the long awaited match. 

 

Skadis Vow:

 

Skadi is easily one of my three favorite women’s characters in OCW right now. Her promos, how she delivers them and her presentation is such a refreshing thing we don’t often see in OCW with a babyface. Most the time they won’t look their defeats in the eye and embrace them but Skadi does, I love how she just operates in general. I feel her path to Lution is gonna be an interesting one and I am curious to see where she ends up in the whole grand scheme of the women’s division. 

 

Flojo has an idea:

 

The pairing of Flojo and Beatrixx is such an odd one but cool one as well. Beatrixx is also in the same kind of boat like Skadi where they both carry themselves like these figures who have been in the division for many years. But when you think that they both are under a year in the company give or take a little it really goes to show how great they are. And when you have someone great by your side you get this added benefit with Flojo where she’s just shining. I feel like a lot of people’s (but I’ll speak on my own mainly) main gripe with Flojo is her stop and start. We can see in this video + others with Beatrixx that she is so fucking funny and can be an amazing babyface. I REALLY REALLY hope that Flojo will continue to carry this energy / momentum forward without Beatrixx when the time comes. But for now, I will love to keep seeing this ragtag duo being hilarious on my screen. 

 

Bolek v. Gonzalo:

 

An international championship throwback but with so many things very different. We all know both of these guys can go and that they are beyond talented. Was a really good fucking match and it literally only took one which was also a surprise + insane rare thing to witness. 

 

B17 Written Promo:

 

Playing into who / how he got back into OCW that sneaky dog. Some of the wording that he was going with didn’t give me overly babyface but then again B17 hasn’t ever been your standard black and white babyface. Good to see the dumb old bitch back. Even though he was the reason a lot of this shit happened in the first place!

 

Junkos World Tour next stop:

 

Junko is also someone who came blazing into OCW and hasn’t stopped ever since that. Something about her that I always appreciate is the delivery of the promo and the voice itself. While I assume it’s not “real” how it comes off sounds far better than a bunch of other ai voices we see / have heard. The positioning of Junko as well is also something to not laugh at, two Pride title matches against Dragana, and two matches against Deborah? Talk about going to the gods and swinging as hard as you can. Junko keeps improving with how they do their segments while still keeping them entertaining is always a great thing to see. However, is she available to step on a brother?

 

Sarah & Marisa Backstage:

 

Maybe I’m just tired and not remembering but has Sarah always sounded like that? Idk anyways, Marisa just going and talking shit is just typical her fashion. But the thing that stuck out for me with this segment is the small ad libs Marisa would add when Sarah was talking and then the coughing + theatrics of when Sarah was grabbing her. I really liked that and think it could be something that universally moving forward anytime it’s relevant to be done it should be. 

 

Deborah responds to Perls threats:

 

Brian Williams stays being a victim all because my man loves big women. I cannot fault him whatsoever. When “Deborah” first came out I was like HUH but then of course the other shoe dropped and BAM BITCH, the GWOAT actually showed up and saved Brian! I think she’s starting to warm up to the guy but hey ask her yourself. There are SOOOO many moving things and pieces going on in the women’s division. Something I’ve been really noticing is Deborah has NOT let go on she wants the women’s world championship back, both her and Perl have history with Marisa so, if I were her I’d watch my back. 

 

SDC v. CF:

 

Now I won’t lie, I thought with how long the video was that maybe it was gonna be a segment and not an actual match. But then I saw it was a match and I was like “well how did we get here?” And well… yea sudden death is how we got here. Which shit man, I normally would not be overly fond of a sudden death win especially that early but, you hit a tag move and pin off it that’s like as basic as it gets. Mans can’t fault that, just wow type of moment since the match ended so quickly. Crazy win for SDC and a rough couple weeks for Cold Front. 

 

A Cease & Desist: 

 

This was honestly pretty fucking funny. But k do got some overarching bones to pick with this trio more specifically Tre, I like Jubei, I think he has a good look and good voice. However, I am not fond of Tre being involved with Jubei, why you might ask? I feel like Tre doesn’t need to be entangled with someone when he’s a veteran, he should know who he is and what he wants. But after the Paul Harris feud he seems farther from that than before. I love seeing him on the show and being present but I would’ve liked if he was still stepping out on his own and doing his own thing. The group isn’t a bad thing whatsoever but for my own personal tastes I’d have liked to see someone different with Jubei that isn’t Tre. Maybe like.. idk Deaver ;D

 

Clark Effect ft Luis:

 

This was quick and straight to the point. I’ve always liked Luis and I think he’s not had the run / attention he could have. He has the look, aura and all that jazz but now it’s about putting the pieces together. With his sights aimed on Bash I will be curious to see how the North American champ handles that moving forward. 

 

Evaluating the mind of Quartz:

 

Man… yet another interesting development with Quartz. Probably the most layered character in OCW and the dude just keeps staying interesting. The inner turmoil between all three minds that occupy the vessel just never ceases to amaze. With Quartz now not being able to fight for the CCW championship and dealing with the fallout of WarGames it makes you wonder can Inness hold onto control? Or is that big blue fuck creeping his way back into control. God I love him so much. 

 

Devon v. C-Note:

 

Man talk about a DAWG fight. You just know whenever you’re getting either Devon or C-Note in a match that these dudes are gonna go fucking crazy. Which of course is something all of us can appreciate and respect. Devon turning this new leaf and going against C-Note had me keep my eyes on the match heavy because this is a huge match for both dudes. C-Note got the win but man they fought their asses off and the after match things were dope as well. 

 

Lets be civil:

 

Another pretty straight to the point video. Sets us up for next week where we’ll see if B17 will give Emp what she wants. I’m most excited to see who helped get B17 back into OCW since obviously I’d expect Mr. Sensation didn’t do that. 

 

Deborah Silenced:

 

Oh hey it’s Deborah and Brian! Oh hey Deborah mentioned the women’s world championship again- holy fucking shit Tammy might’ve killed her. Well damn, I guess Marisa isn’t taking it lightly that people wanna sit here and talk about her championship like that. But I do feel like that might’ve been a grave miscalculation because now you DEFINITELY got Debbie on your ass which means that little witch Perl is only a step away. 

 

AC Cobra learns a valuable lesson:

 

Damn man. Who would’ve thought in the year 2025, that AC Cobra would not just be in OCW but be one of the hottest heels in one of the hottest feuds? It’s actually fucking incredible. When you think the place can’t surprise you it just still does. I think Cobra should work on his delivery a bit, there were some moments where I felt it could’ve used a bit more UMPH. I’d also either add a black outline on the subtitles or like a background so the viewers could read the subtitles a little easier as well. While I also know it’s annoying / can be tedious, experiment with crowd noises! It never hurts to try and emulate a real wrestling crowd who would very much so hate Cobra. But man, can we talk about Gabriel!? THAT’S MY FUCKING BOY. I knew he had the potential and I fucking love him + what this story is doing. That Lution match is gonna be a BANGER. 

 

JynX v. Marcus:

 

Remember I was talking about DAWGS? Yea man these two are also fucking DAWGS. An absolute WAR between JynX and Marcus and man… this match? Was definitely going CCCCRRRAAAAZZZZYYYY. But I will admit, I was not a fan of the finish. This is twice now where we’ve seen JynX in a title match and the match has not shown the comp finish. Coming from a man who has also indulged in this more than a handful of times, I typically don’t mind this, I wasn’t overly in love when the Nate finish didn’t air but this one? Man. I imagine it ended via the two brawling on the outside and it was either a Draw or JynX via countout. Now I can appreciate JynX (I assume) extending the olive branch to allow Marcus & John build their story, however HOW it was executed was something I wasn’t in love with either. From the examples and talking points John was doing Marcus would’ve long been counted out (since he left the ring) and therefore the fighting wouldn’t have been resulted as a DQ or the match being thrown out. Then we can throw in the very abrupt cut to JynX in the ring cutting a promo to where then Nate pops up. Now once again, I’m all for intertwining stories and making the most of a match, but I would’ve ONLY focused on JynX when he was cutting the promo and maybe gave it a smidge more time to playoff that Marcus and John had brawled to the back instead of it just being like 1-2 heres Nate. Not the end of the world nor should it be taken as some attack to the heart because that’s the last thing I’m trying to do. JynX is TRYING to be a fighting champion but one thing or another keeps this dude from having that DEFINITIVE moment where it feels like his title reign has started. I don’t even want him to try and defend the title again until Lution because if he can repeat the result he had with Nate and beat him? At Lution? That’s the biggest bang and definitive start to a reign you could possibly want. With John & Marcus, this was a bit unique? I understand where John is coming from but I don’t think it was the appropriate time. Maybe if he would’ve had Marcus get counted out THEN add insult to injury it could’ve fit / worked better (to me.) it just sorta felt clunky and took me out a bit from an absolutely fantastic match that both dudes should be proud of nonetheless. 

Some things from someone who's old and irrelevant.

 

- I quite enjoyed the Parca/C-Note exchange. My only complaint is I think C-Note's dialogue needed to be turned up just a tad, was a little too quiet for my liking. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Benjamin "C-Note" Bill Goldberg "Don't Call Me Toronto" Franklin for OCW Champ please.

 

- Temple of Boom is a much better name than Concrete Lotus. I really like the dynamic of Tre/Jubei and I'd imagine they'll get their turn at the tag titles at some point, especially after their match on Riot. Maybe I oughta show them around the Dojo....

 

- Speaking of, damn that was a short tag match. The tag champs do not have a whole lot of momentum going into Lution, will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks with them.

 

- Marisa interacting with a lot of the women's roster has me thinking that whatever the world women's title match at Lution will be, will be something epic. A chamber perhaps? Gauntlet eliminator? Only time will tell.

 

Good job to everyone for a good shoe. Let's keep the Lution train going.
