so you think we should ban chain attacks??? gee what would Nate, RD, Spoon, Majin, Fausto, Pee Stee, Mayhem, Seth, and myself do??? we must all be cheesers as we chain attacks all the time

We have to limit ourselves when using chains. Too many chains is pure cheese. It's ethics not FPR rules.

It's an ethics thing trips is talkign about.

For instance everyone does chain moves. There's no escaping that. Some use a lot of chains some a few. Although I can see the point trips is making about chain moves if its build up like this strike, quick grapple (stun move) strike, strike strong grapple. Then I don't see a problem if it is however the following:

Strike quick grapple (stun move) strike strike quick grapple(stun move) strike, whip, quick grapple (stun move), strike, strike, whip in the corner, turnbuckle move.

Then I do have a problem with it. Cause imo the rush rule applies then and youll have easily made your opponent yellow in one go which on a game that easily damages you anyway is bad. We don't want too see matches end in less then 5 minutes.

So if you do the number two then improve your ethics. You may win, but half of the roster hates too play you then.

Back too the show: Those video's of Spoon and Versus were sweat! And the new theme song of MMM is beginning too stick too my mind. I dig it! And there was too much Nathan Gaines on this episode! :p

you have to learn to counter... that`s how chains are stopped...

walking up to a guy and strong grappling... is a rare occurance... and should be countered 90% of the time... only time it isn`t countered is when it isn`t expected... when two guys are facing each other... strikes and quick grapples are the norm... that`s why everyone has 2+ stun grapples in their moveset... grapple strike combos drive matches... and the reversals from offense to defence and vise versa are what make matches watchable...

someone using quick knockdown grapples, Strong grapples, knockdown strikes and ground grapples only would make for a boring wrestler... and crappy matches... I`ve seen some matches from back in 06... and it`s all chain attacks much more so than this game...

I'd totally disagree. I think watching quick knockdowns and strong grapples makes for a clean crisp match. When I watch a chain fest I usually skip to the result.

1. Alright then, toe kick toekick, backhand block, big grapple,go behind, turn around toe kick arm drag, tech down under Finishers here we come!

2. Yeah thats why people have 3+ stun grapples. God forbit we take move that actually fit,pff stupid people. I think i should just stop going for bigger grapples and do my signature move and just do "chain" moves all the time. Since most my moves are equal or less damage to quick grapples, but again, pff why take move because they fit your charachter.

As far as chaines for me go i try to keep it to 1-3 strikes and a graple or 1 stun and grapple. Doing that IMO is fine cause it gives you a chance to throw off your opponents timing. But if its consistantly strike strike, quick grab, strike quick grab grapple, there is a problem ethically. Had this problem when people were chaining the quick grabs to hell in 07.

Even if things are reversable ethics can still come into play. Ground grapples are reversable but if someone is going for them after every single move there is a problem with their ethics.

Didn't really see a issue with the chaining in this one, although it seems that Versus got front loaded with body moves. But i'll assume that was not on purpose. I don't think it was.

I`d rather watch a reversal fest than repeated missed grapples... I guess it`s preference...

Quick Grapple (Stun), strike, strike, rope down grapple, pick up, grapple, go behind, finisher.

That's a bit of a chain in my eyes.

You gotta learn too time your long grapples! Only Nate Ortiz could counter 90% of my long grapples, I think I land at least 50% of them in a match. If anyone needs more then 2 stun moves then your obviously misusing the game mechanics imo. Which means your actually trying too win based upon a moveset that may not suit you but is the best for winning matches. Which equals cheese imo!

I disagree that that is a boring match. In an actual WWE match I don't see so much chain wrestling as I see in some matches in OCW. It's unrealistic, but fastpaced which you obviously prefer. Also back in the day something you can't look upon is that it was brought into discussions back then and was disliked upon. If someone had too much stun moves or did some ridiculous combo's something was said about it. So are we doing now!
