One of the 1st things THQ does when they announce the new game is hype if they've re-vamped gameplay mechanics. This hasn't been done for 09 & wasn't even mentioned in the interview (aside from tag matches of course). This makes it pretty damn likely that 09 will pretty much play almost exactly as 08.

 

Thus, switching back to 07 will likely be 2 steps back instead of just 1.

 

95% of the people here are great w/08 fpr. Ethics needs work but we learn as we go right? If we work now to perfect 08's ethic work then we will already have a HUGE leap forward in breaking in 09!

 

That's looking at it from a logical standpoint whether you like the game or not. This is what's best for OCW's future rather than the present.

 

 

**As an absolute last resort we could possibly change Turmoil to 07 and keep Riot 08 or vice versa till the new game comes out.

 

And one last thing, people should probably quit looking to the TNA game as a savior. Even if gameplay gets worked out right there's no way on their 1st time around their creation modes can be as down pat as SVR's & that's what OCW thrives on.

Gameplay > CAW and other things

 

A decent CAW mode is nothing but a plus to a game, not what it should be based on. The creative side is done primarily in RPs.

Well Steve that may be the case but we still don't even know if the gameplay is workable.

 

And like I said 08 is most likely going to have near identical mechanics to 09 minus tag matches. So getting 08 down pat now is going to give us a head start on 09.

It seems alot of the problems with this game is two things.

 

ethics & FPR

 

The guys in controll of these things do need to start laying down the heat. I have not seen one suspinsion in so long for ethic and FPR breaking yet we have seen a good handfull of matches this year where people have broke them blaintantly, they may have not been paying attention to what they where doing but that neglagence shouldnt be spared and punishment actions should be takin.

 

It has been lacking this season, badly.

 

The only person I see online a majority of the time is Seth, Nick, and Spoon.

 

I think people who are not active should be takin off the FPR commity like WIlson, we all like the guy but right now he isn't active so he really doesn't know what changes in ethics and FPR are taking place.

I do have to say regardless of how shitty people think the game is your not going to be your best like you should unless you play it often. People can see where people lack clearly but there is another view to this.

 

If the vets here don't play often or people on FPR police, then we are unable to criticize what most of these new guys and others are doing wrong. Thats where only playing certant people does not pay off. The more you play the community and get around you can tell people are doing wrong and what is unethical.

 

08-09 will not be that much different besides the obvious modes.

 

So I kind of have to agree with a comment earlier made.

 

If we do start playing the Community and help point out these things in DMs it should help during offical matches. If we see FPR and ethic breaking in offical matches. Punish the fucker, stop letting people get away with these things, it has gone on long enough to where some people think they are doing nothing wrong at all which is garbage.

 

So crack fucking down NOW so we dont have to deal with this crap later in 09

It's your amazing ability to receive critisism and ability to solve problems by blocking,not playing people and stuff like that that i like about you the most. If more people would solve there problems like this we might have OCW with good ethics but im guessing we would have a rather small community...like 6 people.

 

Seriously,the people who are in question with the so called "bad ethics" are already part of the community. Its not a new guy or something that doesnt get it. There is just a few minor things that still need to be fixed. We can do the black and white method like you suggest and we will lose allot of members that way. Or we take a little effort,like the meeting after Wrestlution and fix what needs to be fixed and continue from there on.

In the event that one of us FPR police sees a breakage in rules or bad ethics we should be allowed to start a thread naming and shaming the culprit and suggest a suitable ban (proper bans like 1 month or more). if another FPR police member seconds it the person should be instantly banned for that time period.

3 strike rule: strike 1 = warning. strike 2 = suspension. strike 3 = gone

a new rule on quick grapples (we are working on this now)

an ethical rule on irish whips (as in do not abuse like running attacks and rolling)

 

 

some of us have tried some thigns and have seen better results allready. But this is guys who nomrally dont have bad ethics doing the testing so it works.

Answer me this...why would I want to associate with cheeseballs, much less fight against them? I was just giving my opinion on the gameplay v. the other options included with the game. Without good gameplay, the rest of the game is worthless.

Damn, can't believe I missed this thread. Again I'd like to tell Smythe it isn't about the M.E guys playing the game. It's about this shitty game being complete, absolute garbage that many said it would be to begin with. Have people made progression between now and the season of SVR '07? Sure. But what's going on today is just ridiculous. As I've stated before, you cannot make a person pay for his/her mistakes.

 

You could have done the dumbest thing in a match and still win. Case in point with Double A thoroughly whooping your ass. I hate 2008 with a passion because of this casual ass play. I don't care what any of you believe as this game takes NO SKILL at all! Since moving to this game I've lost once and I play this game as much as Sensation. So that practice makes perfect line is complete bullshit. It's been many times that I should have lost(In my opinion others seem to differ) and I won.

 

There isn't anything that can be done I don't believe because we are already too deep into this season. I don't think we should return to '07 as again, we are too far gone into this garbage. We should only pray that TNA can be half decent. The gameplay just needs to be there untill we move to 2009. And if TNA bombs, we'll just have to sit and play through this 'game' (2008) until we get our "Most wanted feature" Create-A-Finisher.

 

Only thing I can hope THQ does this:

 

• Fix fucking manual targeting
  
• Fic the reversal rate (ala 2006/7)
