Ba da Bing, Ba da Boom, you know how we do. Alliteration is mostly gone. 3, 2, 1, Go! Family Forensics This series of promos from Colby and Jordan were welcome throughout the show and didn’t overstay their welcome while developing the multiple stories the characters are involved in and their own relationship in a wacky environment. I really enjoyed the subtle development of Colby learning how to deal with Jordan’s ramblings. At first, Colby tries to intimidate Jordan to stfu which...doesn’t work. Throughout the next two promos, he just ignores/distracts him which proves to be highly effective. Tre’s State of the Union Address This was definitely my promo of the night. I feel it did so much in so little. The Nate Mac-isms. The President, Tre Golden, really reached into his leadership bag for this one addressing the Wolves and preparing them for the war ahead. It was mainly good for his use of optics. He was able to frame the Wolves and their code of ethics into something very noble and set the Wolves to be the clear faces against DDE, all without changing or compromising his character. However, I do think that “Treasurer” is a horrible title for Marisa. It just doesn’t sound threatening to me in the slightest and doesn’t fit her character other than “Xpensive(Treasurer deals with money)”. Elliot Ends Garcia’s GameS. This should be good. Both character’s first singles feud in their respective factions. Elliot quickly assumed a heel and Garcia the contrary. Would I have liked to see it flipped the other way around? Don’t think it would have made too much of a difference. Since Christian is face, I think this feud is his for the taking. I believe he has the more interesting story to tell as part of this and we saw bits of it here. Garcia has been around for a small while now and is no longer the new kid on the block but this is his chance to prove it to Elliot and the audience, and to himself perhaps. La Mujera’s Championship Challenge Mujera seeks to revel in her Championship win AND defense but is interrupted by two women capitalizing off of their wins at Ladies’ Night. Not sure what this means or what it will lead up to. Given Blackheart’s win later in the night, not sure if they plan to do a triple threat still or if Flojo will demand a No1 Contender rematch given her great showing. Both scenarios seem interesting and this should be a great second defense for Mujera that may crown a new champ. In terms of the video, I am glad to see more people trying some multiman video work. It wasn’t as polished as Jake’s multiman vids but it got the message across and got the job done. I loved Mujera getting her last word at the bottom of the ramp. Ideally, these sort of promos would be easier to do, in the next game however far away that is. Harris Turner’s Cabin Chat This was a very good, quintessential newcomer promo. It established some motives and backstory for the character as Turner risked his established career for something he’s passionate about, wrestling. It also solidified his alignment as a face. In the end, it even set us up nicely for his debut next week against Alex Asher, beautiful stuff. On the format side of things, satellite interviews are sort of a staple in wrestling television and this was a nice implementation of it. I really enjoyed how dynamic it was. We would go from a shot of Jim Black, to a shot of both of them to just Turner. It operated like a real interview would. I also think the decision to not go full screen for most of the promo was a nice aesthetic decision. It had a nice “Riot-y” background and more importantly, made the text boxes feel very natural. They did not interrupt or obstruct anything. Solid all around. Champion Triple Threat Kent went crazy booking 3 Champions in one main event forcing Jake to book a superior star-studded main event for Turmoil. Baker running away from Tony when he was out of reversals is something nobody wants to see whether it’s from the viewer’s perspective or from a competitive standpoint. However, I’m not gonna act like it’s something that hasn’t been done before. Karma might’ve bit him in the back and despite Quartz’ efforts, Tony hit him with the knee for the 1, 2, 3. The match was good though and Everrett looked like he had it for most of the match. He was able to walk away with his hands clean while Quartz was able to continue his feud with H20 as he shockingly came to save Baker, the man who took his dreads and his belt. Takeaways This show definitely had a different ambiance to it than Turmoil. We had a little bit of everything: tag teams, ladies, BEEF, and even a creep. I didn’t catch the entire Twitch stream/VP but from what I did catch the stream experience seemed much improved and every video got its own spotlight all the way through. Definitely not the most packed show we’ve had but far from the worst. Overall, a slight improvement from last week. We’re in the last stretch of the season so let’s keep up the great work everybody.

Turmoil 270: Wrestling Is Fun Again!
Maxx Edwards replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in The Daily Suplex
Really exciting show after being on break for so long so the 3-2-1 is out the window. Before I start, take what I say as more important than the title of the section, alliteration is hard. Matches, Videos, Roleplays, Go. Deaver Debut Demolition Came off too strong. From the entrance, to the in-ring, everything was very intense from Deaver. There were hints here and there to an overarching character but overall just needed some cohesion. When in doubt, keep it simple. I assume the FPR will be cleaned up by the next match at least a little so I am not too worried about that. Faction Fallout I’ll likely group all of the DDE promos into this one section as they were very much sequential and cohesive. Now obviously, DDE swung for the fences and struck out at Cide. Parca is emotionally in pieces as he looks back and tries to study the greatness that seems out of reach for the masked man. Ross telling Parca to stop being sad after losing is ironic to say the least. “Diamond Hand” Dillinger is trying to salvage and rebuild his team for another successful run. The most interesting thing about these promos is how Garcia is so seemingly unaffected by what happened. One would think he would lose trust or perhaps show some different reaction but much of what we got was I feel like the same old Garcia in the extended Parca-Garcia promos. Obviously, I don’t expect a complete 180 in terms of character but it feels like he didn’t really respond to what happened at least to the level of everyone else around him. We sorta got that in the Derek beatdown promo, but I feel like that was more elicited by Parca’s potential mistrust rather than Garcia’s own doubts. On that promo, I do like the way the action was written as it was kept short and blunt, like jumping someone would be. Vanguard’s Vain Vixen “Are you here to perform?” Popped me. Marisa joining the wolves is great. Makes sense, adds something different to the wolves but still fits the theme. I feel like her addition was very sudden, Tre was just like “we should add her”, with seemingly no conversation with her prior. However, that seemed to be the point and added a lot of comedic effect. The video I’m going to guess was made by Nate. Crude style but didn’t hate it. Only thing is just to add a background. It is more of a process, but finding a random bunker-hideout-clubhouse type stock image shouldn’t be too hard. The phone text message was simple and a nice touch. Harvey Hiccup? This promo was really hard to read for me. I think it was the use of bold to signify thoughts just did not click for me and I had to reread it. I think this might be alluding to a Quartz-H20 storyline but it’s hard to gather much. Tremblay’s Tirade Outside of the awkward start, I really liked this promo. The middle was strongly face but the beginning and end were slightly heelish but more so cocky. I’m okay with this only because it’s a really nice way to differentiate yourself from other foreign rookie “Wrestling Purest” characters we have, namely OWEN. The video was simple and got the job done. Text was readable, the timing was good for most of it. I liked the pause in the middle for crowd reaction. The only thing I would’ve done differently, is just have your own theme music play you in and out of the ring, but other than that solid work. Etiquette’s Elegant Entrance Not much to say on this debut that hasn’t already been said. I will say that the video was 7 minutes but it felt like a very FULL 7 minutes which was nice. From an OOC perspective, it will be interesting to see Colin write heel. I do hope that Etiquette stays heel and doesn’t stray to cocky face realm due to positive fan reception, at least not for a while. Mantis’ Monologue (That one was easy) Overall, I do like this. Hyper Mantis Red, especially due to the recent beadowns of Mantis, could never really pull off SCARY as well as he could pull off CREEPY, and I’m glad he went with the latter. I like the voice inflection, kinda matches how I would assume Green Mantis would talk with vernacular and tone but has a slightly darker twist to it. The flashback was also simple and well done. The main downside of the video was length, but that is definitely to be expected when trying out a new format, and I do expect it to get better if Mantis continues with this. It seemed he hit his points, and then did it again, and then did a summary. Again, this isn’t something I expect to be a recurring problem Also feel like the theme is pretty generic villain theme. Could be more different. Mac’s Masked Mauling While I do agree that Asher could have played the sympathetic baby face card and this sort of takes it away from him, I ain’t mad at him for standing up to having his girl robbed. I don’t think this automatically makes him an all out heel. At the same time, fighting over a girl is quite quintessential middle school beef. Perfect for the “Loverboy” Asher and the deranged and immature Nate Mac so I ain’t mad at it. What is interesting is how they revealed to us, the audience, that Asher is the attacker but the character’s are still unaware. DRAMATIC IRONY. Let’s see how it pans out and how they use it to their advantage. Friends Face Family Colby and Judge get into a little disagreement over who’s the better big brother to Jordan Trance. Perfect feud for both characters and it can only be settled on one show...Maury. Cort’s Courageous Confrontation I just really loved this promo. Probably my promo of the night. Gets me amped for the main event. Trance’s Tragic Trust Test Another well written installment in the Colby-Jordan storyline. This kinda reminds me of an old Rey Mysterio RTWM storyline from an SVR game(I think 11) which was my favorite story of that game. Jamie consistently selling getting the mess beaten out of him, things you love to see. Conclusion I guess I’ll start on the Main Event which was good, much like the other matches, but very predictable. This is not an attack on Cort but more on a lot of the segments on the rest of the show. From the video, to a lot of the rps, it seemed like Quartz-H20 started their feud before the match happened. Quartz quite literally said he doesn’t care about H20 and he just wants Cort Marshall. It’s possible that Quartz was gonna try to work a feud with H20 regardless and H20 winning just proved himself as a worthy challenger after technically coming off of a loss but with the help of hindsight, it just doesn’t seem that way. In terms of roster presence, I agree it was lacking. Most of the action was from a web of Marisa-WOV-Puro Country-DDE that Jae must have had a field day trying to organize. I also don’t think that I would’ve noticed the “missing” people that didn’t submit for the show if we didn’t see many of the same characters appear multiple times throughout the show. That previously mentioned web dominated the show, and I think made certain people not being on the show more apparent. I’d also like to mention that I think Jake is getting closer to perfecting the multiman talking segment that he’s done across many characters. I think the Baker promo was the best integration of it and it seemed the most seamless with all characters only briefly being seen and the camera solely focusing on Quartz when he’s in the ring. One bad thing I noticed with a lot of the video work being done throughout the show, matches and rp included, is a lack of clear beginning, middle and end with a lot of the video. Every segment, video or text, for the most part should have a clear beginning, middle, and end. A lot of videos feel like they ended abruptly or just jumped into it too quickly. If you have a match it should end with some sort of victory scene. Celebrate your win, blast your music and take in your moment before fading out to a nice OCW screen. I’ll also comment on the Twitch side of things since that is also a major change and relates to the last comment as I don’t think it helped as the videos were quite literally going one into another. From a user, the hands-off experience was a nice benefit as I could’ve watched the show in my living room if I really wanted to by just loading up the stream. However, I think the live chat was the best part, aside from Jay commentary. It was a nice part where those watching but not talking could interact which was better than the discord chat we had previously. Also, new viewers are able to pop in and talk, watch a bit and leave which I would assume would be a better experience. The only thing that was off was how fast certain videos went into each other that could have used an ad but realistically that was more on the fault of the creators for not giving it a proper ending. All in all, I really did enjoy the show. I am not sure how much of it was it being a good show and how much of it was us not getting a full canonical show in so long that featured all of that sweet sweet SummerCide fallout but also made it all the more disappointing when certain stories left uncontinued.- 22 replies

Turmoil 269: Building New Stars.....AGAIN!
Maxx Edwards replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in The Daily Suplex
3-2-1 GO The People’s Champ turns to The People’s Chump In the two latest installments of the Flojo saga, we find her getting ignored at a convention. A setting that I absolutely love for Flojo to be at as it makes sense specifically with her character and with the wrestling world in general. Great backstory filling in here of the downhill trajectory that Flojo has been on with the use of the attendees and how she was treated. We then get a nice backstage segment with Flojo and Terra where Flojo tries to act tough despite being quite obviously “down bad” and Terra sees right through that. Nice stuff and I like both of the promos. Tony’s Turmoil Tirade(TTT) While Cow Gang may have fallen short to TTT, Tony stood tall here and laid out a challenge to Parca only to be interrupted by Christian Garcia. Speaking of Christian, I feel like he needs some more “Chico”isms. Right now, he has a good solid young-old relationship with Parca but the issue with that is that he(to me) screams Young Parca, without any major discernible differences. While Parca is teaching him some things, I’d like to see Garcia develop a flaw that could potentially eventually lead to the DDE blowup feud. It could be something as small as Garcia being too scummy or too empathetic or too chauvinistic. Regardless, I loved this promo from both parties and Garcia trying to go toe-to-toe with Tony before Tony dominates him and lays out the scene for next week. Boob Hunt A series of RPs from an assortment of characters peppered all throughout the show that do a lot of things right in many ways. Bobby Minio talks to a lot of familiar faces and is able to do what he does best. Minio is also able to beat up Spider and overall, build himself up while outsmarting Quartz at every corner. While it may seem simple(that’s part of the beauty), if executed poorly this could have given off some awkward unintended effects. The clever trick here is being able to run away constantly without ever appearing scared(And in-turn Heelish), and that is done through smart and tactical writing. On the other side is Quartz, who is able to be bested at every corner and still not lose any bit of his threatening aura. This series of promos served as a nice and gradual build-up to the match as the tensions between the two increased ever so slightly while also serving as expediting Minio’s “Welcome Back Party” and roping it into the storyline. Also good to see Dupree writing multiple times per show and overall, seemingly enjoying himself as he is writing more frequently outside of his usual announcements. Nate’s swim with the fishes I can’t help but say that Nate's green screen promos have definitely grown on me. The music combined with Nate’s demeanor always makes them seem like such a big occasion. The only thing I would add is just some sounds to rest of the fight. Fighting without any sounds always just takes the edge off of the impact outside of video packages. The ending bit with commentary added a lot and just getting some punching sounds from the #assets channel(Thanks Valk) will go a long way imo. That being said, this promo was a pretty simple(and also pretty silly) idea, done right and getting the job done. Nate vs Rust definitely is one of the hottest feuds heading into Cide and is a match I can’t wait to see. A New Tag Team? This Quan and Claudio promo was very weird for a few reasons. Firstly, I’m unironically asking “Is this sped up?” It’s clear the music is but even several parts of the video seem cut off or not given enough time. Pieces of text and the actual clips of the tag team. In fact, viewing it at .75x playback speed on YT made the video be paced a lot better where I could easily see what’s happening in most of the clips and read most of the text and I would recommend others to do the same when watching. Lastly, I’m going to have to agree with Jay in asking “Who made this?” Mostly because a lot of Marisa’s videos are up and down in terms of resolution(I assume it’s because of a base PS4) while this one was able to stay pretty consistent at what looks like 1080 or atleast a good full 720. That being said, a lot of Marisa’s videos are cropped in so that might lose resolution while this video seemed to utilize mostly fullscreen clips from in-game so it’s not out of the question. Regardless, this video did a good job at hyping up the arrival of the new team so props to whoever made it as we still don’t know who the second man is(No thanks to Jake). Quartz’s Cousin vs. Trance’s Son This was a really good rookie debut from Tremblay but unfortunately experience came out on top. The action was a lot more back and forth than the damage was showing and Tremblay only got hit with a finisher when he didn’t have reversals. Can’t ask for much more from a show opener. Conclusion T’was a good show, Not as good as Riot, but a good show nonetheless. Also, crazy how Cide is ‘bout two weeks away. Still remember Chill Faktor and The Clash from earlier this year and it’s also crazy to acknowledge has the OCW landscape has changed since then. Next week is the Go Home and then it’s Cide. We got bangers lined up and I’m all here for it.- 9 replies

Great show like this does need more discussion. Still working on formatting. Harvey-Baker Promo This was such a surprisingly good promo. The crazy part is it did absolutely nothing fancy. It stayed simple and played upon pre-existing dynamics. I’m not gonna pretend and act like I know a whole lot about Baker but he came back and is pretty obviously different. He had this weird “reformed” vibe where he isn’t really himself. On the other hand, Harvey has been around the whole time and has been on this upward trajectory of trying to prove himself. Even in this promo, we can very clearly see how imperfect Harvey is which contrasts the “put-together” persona Baker put on. This makes the surprise 10x better. There were just as many red flags and there were signs so while we should’ve seen it coming, we didn’t. Baker came back in a suit but it was never business, ALL PERSONAL. This was my Promo of the night until literally the next one. Jordan-Colby Promo Now this promo is what I call being on top of the pen game. It did so much in nice smooth natural fashion. Off the bat, it was a bit long. Do I care? Put the Dicaprio gif in here. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Such a nuanced program and promo as even though we’ve seen their disagreements before, this is the catalyst of the feud. I specifically didn’t say this is where the feud starts because the unique thing is it’s clear that this isn’t a typical feud as this has been an ongoing thing outside of the characters’ OCW work relation. This promo is where the characters and the audience get to see the real crux of their long-standing quarrels. This promo also did a very good job at establishing the two characters. Especially Colby, who recently returned and went through some creative changes. We saw both character’s imperfections and flaws but they still established a clear heel and face and their conflict seems natural. A very underrated and (I think) hard to pull off thing that is done well here is how amazingly the two convey events that happen that we as the audience don’t know about. It really helps convey the passage of time and build the world around them. These characters’ lives don’t stop when the “camera” is off them and for these two to incorporate it in such a natural way just really elevates the writing in terms of authenticity and believability. I will also note that I use the word feud but I also realize that the two might not immediately go after each other or even in the near future but the foundation is there and there is conflict between them regardless if they’re building for a payoff match at X PPV. This promo had tension, pettiness, and comedy. It was just fantastic. Promo of the night for me. Just Derek Promo This was a promo that I thoroughly enjoyed. It did so much right and was very fundamentally sound in terms of promos. It followed a nice flow and had a nice progression. Speaking of, it pushed the story forward and had a reason for existing. It came with a nice introduction that played off of Derek’s previously established video message promo, and had a good ending that made me want to see where this goes, which was the point. The one thing I will say is that it was pretty wordy and redundant. It could have been shrunken down a bit but I’m not too worried as I suspect Derek will get better at it as he becomes more comfortable writing and with his character. An example of that would be this: I am a weapon. I was a weapon constructed by Thomas Archer. A weapon that walked away from the big money picture and ran by myself until I was fed to the Wolves, but now I run with the Wolves. When he could have said: I am a weapon. One created and funded by Thomas Archer before I was fed to the Wolves I now run with. Again, not too concerned especially because even with the repetitive nature, the promo didn’t run long at all. Definitely my favorite piece from the whole triangle storyline Derek is involved in. All 3 of these promos made page 3 a WILD page. Seriously, go back and read it, I tried not to spoil or speak directly on what happened cause it really was crazy. MinaV-Heather Video Black Borders! I’m going to cheat here and also talk about the accompanying RP because it very much relates to how I interpret the video. The video was good. In the few words we got from Mina we got to establish a clear face-heel dynamic. After watching the show however, I do think this video was very similar in format to the Valk-Marisa video. One person comes out and talks, then is promptly interrupted by the person they’re feuding with. In that regard, the Valk-Marisa video was better. Another problem is one I suspected, with the short form video content and with Mina V jumping right into a feud, we know nothing about her. I thought this was going to happen given her Lution debut especially with how out-there of a character she is, but then I was happily surprised when she had an rp on the show. Rp was short but we still got to learn a little bit about here and by proxy, where(and when?) she comes from. Good stuff all around. Everett-Parca Video I think the verdict is clear on this one. Long and wordy. The powerpoint images style used definitely work against it BECAUSE of its length. Some people like it, others not so much. In this instance, due to the fact it was 6 minutes and had a whole lot of words, I was not a fan of it. Jake said that this could have been an rp. Maybe I have been fooled by the font size, but I still think it would have been a lot. I think in terms of, “Come out to the ring and talk to the audience promos”, I really liked Rust’s this week. It had video with less text. Obviously because of the game’s limitations, that’s not nearly as easy with a tag team on the ramp, so I understand. Telos vs Thomas Archer Bunch of good matches all around. Didn’t really matter which one I picked. This was such a fun meaty men match-up but as we all know, Archer ain’t in the meat-slapping business. Good win for Archer but it’s obviously part of a bigger story. More on that in the conclusion. Conclusion This was an amazing show all around. Matches all came and delivered. On top of that, 99% of them had a story integrated with them, either before, during or after the match. Top to bottom can’t ask for more from a RIOT card. The written content then took all that and kept it going. Everything served its purpose and did it well. Beautiful, no complaints. Video Promos were probably the weakest part of the show only because they were relatively simple and the matches and promos were just a step above. One thing this show made apparent to me was the web of stories being told. It seems like we are about to have 10 people doing duty at Cide and obviously, that’s not gonna happen. So many characters are involved in multiple storylines. Can’t wait to see how they all end whether it’s before, after or at SummerCide. It gets dangerous in the Summer. Tensions are high and the stakes are higher. Great stuff from everybody.

Non-finish was used to describe other matches in the category when that match was more a shenanigan. I was just describing the group of matches that were atypical. I think if you omitted the huds from the beginning the transition to the actual match would have been more apparent which would have been a good thing.

Due to a Jay's request and just cause, I decided to add a little more formatting to the review espeically since this one is longer. This is written after the fact and this style, not the best. Will probably play around with it more and tweak it here and there in the future. Edit: Site does not support my horizontal lines breaking stuff up even though It shows up in the text editor :( Even through some technical difficulties that changed aspects of this match, the result was excellent. An absolutely beautiful way to open up the show. One gripe I had was AC Cobra having the arena movie during his entrance. Thankfully, it was MITB so it didn’t stick out too much from the PPV aesthetic(thanks Kent[?])but it really makes his entrance look SOO generic. In the match however, Cobra played his role perfectly as the white meat cruiser babyface, keeping the energy high and he had a little hot streak of offense in the middle. Cobra being resilient throughout the match also played perfectly into his previously established character and you really can’t ask for much more in a match. Kass came into the match as the favorite due to his general and specifically multiman experience but came up short, while still handing out some Cessations. Unfortunately, he got caught on the second one in a really cool moment, even though it looked weird because of the game. Kass came out to play but the cards did not fall in his favor. John takes the win in dominant 2-0-0 fashion overcoming the dreaded first defense and looking strong as he sets his sights on capturing NA Gold. John opting out of ending a submission was probably the wrong decision but understandable. After Cobra eating 40 finishers and not staying down and due to the nature of it being a Triple Threat match where subs can be broken up, a submission was more than acceptable but avoiding that perception is a fine choice. RP Break Harvey apologizing for sending out Wagner on a rookie was a nice gesture and one that I liked to see. We learn about characters through what they say, what others say about them and what they do, and Harvey looks to show how much he’s changed. One thing I didn’t like from this is Harvey perfectly reciting the historical reference to Dupree’s wrestling career. The way it was written seemed less like something Harvey would say and something he would read off a teleprompter while advertising the OCW Network. I think Dupree showed the right way to do it. Upon the reference, Dupree expanded upon the reference, from his perspective as a character, and integrated it nicely into the discussion making the connection to the present match. A more natural implementation would have been as follows: Harvey: It’s actually an homage to you. It’s colorway is inspired by what you wore at Wreslution 7 when you faced Dimsmore. This brings it up in a more casual way and allows Dupree to expand on it and talk about how it was Champion v Champion. This is far from a Harvey-problem or an isolated incident but sort of just a theme I’ve seen where characters have perfect and complete recollection when referencing OCW History and it doesn’t always make sense. I think the criticisms of the Telos-Colby vid have been said. Length aside, I really do like the matchup and like this as a returning feud for both parties. The DDE promo was really weird for a variety of reasons. Overall, it just really didn’t fit on the show in my opinion and seemed like something planned for the go-home. I think the majority of my issue lies with them being in the ring. Even though there is a difference from vid/text, the idea of people coming out to the ring then going back backstage, then having ⅘ of them come back out to the ring throughout the show, with Parca’s match being the next match, is just weird to me. Reese’s backstage segment was more fitting for this reason. There is also the part where Dillinger basically says that Dane-Cort will go on before Parca-Reese which turned out to be wrong and is exactly why predicting match order should just be avoided at all costs. This promo would work on a two night PPV to set up the other night but here it feels weird. A wild Anthony Baker and a Chris Greene Solo RP appears! Lucha Country Explodes I’ll start by saying props to both men for showing how to put together really special feeling entrances WITHOUT using any pyro. I mean Parca had the stage literally come to life in sync with the music and it looked sick. Not much to say besides the finish but I am glad the Mark Reese was able to hit both the Uppercut and the “Cornfield to Cornfield” properly referencing a legend as had seemed to be the theme of the night with H20’s homage already being discussed. As for the finish, I think it was a victim more of poor timing than anything else. It would have been way better had it been any earlier or any later. Unfortunately, it happened right in the middle of the match. Too early for it to feel like a proper finish but too late that we were already invested. Then the aftermath didn’t make it any better. After the passion story of two brothers turned on each other by a man in a suit, after El Parca proclaiming ownership of both titles for the whole month, Parca took his ball and went to go attack other people. It just seems very unsatisfactory. RP Break Following a great P3 segment, we had the Evelyn-HOF segment. One MAJOR thing is that due to the text boxes and the gamertag in the corner, it is obvious that Louis put together this video as well as the Telos and Colby video. Obviously, when you want to have a major return like we have here, it really dampens the impact of it. Then there is the whole, Evelyn taking a step back to go to the combat center. I’ll say this and it applies to all of the retirements we’ll see on this show and it’s what Jake. It’s not the fact that you did it, it’s the fact that you watched other people do it AND STILL did it. Evelyn was the most egregious offender of this only because she is someone that hasn’t gotten much regular television and just recently got promoted whereas the other people at least did it after a high-profile match. The Justice Inc LLC segment was very interesting for a number of reasons. Jordan Trance’s potential underage drinking was one. We had the music produced by Colin that was just chef’s kiss. I definitely heard Judge’s theme in there and would like to say I heard Trance’s in there as well and I’m sure Colin’s was in there but my ear couldn’t pick it out. Also props to the logo although I think it may have been revised from the described logo in the grad. party. The choice of using the New Day motion is one that I didn’t like but I could understand it. For me, that motion still fits P3’s EMP celebration but I realize that being on the game for 3 years there isn’t a ton of new stuff you could do. Heck, even having Terra back on what looked like the Callum Compound was something I didn’t like to see. With that, comes my problem with Justice Inc. LLC. which is a very tricky one to say the least. Originally, when we first saw the team they were very much a rag-tag team of misfits, and for their first couple RPs they sort of stayed the same. Now I’m not gonna deny the fact that they have done lots of RP and in-character have bonded a lot since then but I still feel like they’ve lost the plot. In this, it is quite clear they’ve been pulled into Colin’s world of wackiness and Judge and Jordan have lost themselves, Judge moreso. I feel like a main reason why Judge and Jordan have been pulled into Colin’s world is that they haven’t gotten into any real action since forming. They kinda have become a supporting cast behind Colin’s quest to reclaim Int Gold. Last time we saw Judge in a storyline, he was this mean bully going up against...Jordan Trance. I also feel like if they wanted to do this idea, this was the perfect time to show how people react to alcohol differently. Have one be the DD that doesn’t drink or atleast has moderation(even though Colin sort of acted like that in text). Have the one friend that is absolutely smashed and its obvious. Then they could have had one be the one in denial that’s “Not even THAT drunk” or have one be aggressive/sad. I understand how the game limitations could have prevented this, but while I have NO idea how the 3 man motions look like, I’m sure that there was one that could have been used somehow. SOLOMON CAINE vs. H20 This match is very...meh. Not bad but just not much to talk about. Caine struggles to regain his competitive form after his matches with Doc as H20 looks to pick up steam heading into the summer. Then there was the aftermath, Caine says his goodbye before getting attacked by El Parca. Already, having two “retirements” suck but to have them both end up in the person getting attacked to set up a feud sucks even more. Danny Watts vs Nate Ortiz Good showing from Danny here being able to go toe-to-toe with Nate for a lot of the match. I was wondering if this was gonna be the end of the Dominion Implosion storyline and it’s clear it is not. I guess since Dominion is nearing it’s end, we can ask if it was successful...yes, yes it was. RP Break Flojo shooting. Real talk, it would have made a lot more sense for her to feud w/ HOF than Evelyn but that’s neither here nor their. Then we got Mina Vadenhoff’s debut which was as crazy as the mystery hype videos leading up to it were. Alt Timeline stuff! Nice to see her come in and jump right into a feud with Heather but I do hope we can find some stuff out about her during that fued. Valkyrie is CLEARED! Phase 3(?) of the Marisa-Valk feud is about to get crazy. We also get one of the sickest video packages yet for the OCW Championship match. Speaking of… K’Dangelo vs Quartz Another non-finish shenanigan match. All of these would be fine on they’re own or even on a bigger PPV but having them all together really has the overall show have a surprising lack of wrestling on it. If I wanted to be nitpicky, I’ll say he should’ve removed the HUD when the match “officially” started. Minio coming back has me on cloud nine. Certain guys have that look and that it factor about them and Minio is that guy. If he gets his crowning moment at SummerCide, I think the whole fed would erupt. Dane Xavier vs Cort Marshall MOTN. Pretty simple. Outstanding character work. From their movesets to the finish. Such a feel-good win for AMERICA. Dillinger and Jasmine getting thrown out was beautiful. Can’t wait to see where Dane goes after this assuming he’s not running it back with HUSA and fighting Jehst. Elliot Parker vs Antonio Everrett Starting with the entrances, again, Elliott missed the mark and as such I gave him an extra t. We have seen some fake outs recently, Marisa’s comes to mind. Even in a story perspective, if Elliot isn’t one to play mind games and they don’t have a deep-seeded rivalry, then why do it. Much rather keep it simple (sissay). Speaking of keeping it simple, Everett comes out in a Saka jersey. A small topical reference that makes sense for the character. He also came out with Rust which was quite clearly drawing a line in the sand given the Nate promo that aired before the match. John comes out fashionably late, but somehow still missing his title AND with MITB showing behind him. Having John and Rust at ringside was nice, bringing the two’s respective factions into the matchup and it is interesting how the more tightly knit faction is the one that came out separate. Parker got killed. An outcome that was more likely than it was expected and for that I’ll give props to Parker for giving himself some real credibility before this match and having people think of this match as more of a toss-up than it ended up being. Where Parker goes after this, and how his role in the WC is expanded is all up in the air, but I look forward to it. Parca going after Everrett was very much expected. Ever since turning on Reese, the world champ just seemed like the natural next step for Parca so I think a lot of people saw this coming. That being said, Parca now has 2 maybe 3 storylines heading into Cide so how that pans out will be interesting. #FreeArcher I know I talked about that OCW Champ hype package but the Women’s Champ package was on another level. You could really tell Emp and Jake’s two styles here. The OCW Champion one was more emotional and thematic focusing on KD’s story and what might be his final opportunity at world champion gold. Emp’s was just pure violence. The edits had a great sense of professionalism about them and the package more perfectly encaptured the feud and the competitors going into the match. All without losing any intensity that the feud had. Both were amazing and did two different jobs. Jake’s package suckered the fans into feeling for KD before he would get tossed to the wayside by Quartz. Emp got us hyped for the main event and got us to believe that it would be different from the rest of the show. It also fit better given how people didn’t hate Terra coming into the match so it placed the two on even pedestals. Main Event Unpopular Opinion, Ashley Moore tried something different and it was largely a success. It’s clear that she was trying to step outside the non-involved manager role(like Rust and John) and try to take a more realistic manager role without affecting the competitive side of the match, and she did that pretty well. The only bad that she did was due to her alignment. Getting on the apron during a pinfall is a classic heel maneuver and didn’t add to the match in any way. Similarly, when she got in the ring and taunted on a downed Terra, that was just outright disrespectful. Everything else she did was pretty good. I think most people agree that the ladder spot was good, but even getting beat up and getting misted. If you wanna make the argument that she wasted Terra’s red payback it could be easily argued against as she gave Terra momentum. Ashley PRIMARILY only got involved when Emp was recovering. Speaking of the freshly-buzzed Emp, time after time, she has proved she is no slouch on the sticks. Taking it to Terra and having the confidence to go for the Sig-Fin with only one knockdown remaining and Terra majored. Moore still having some mist in the post-match cutscene was beautiful attention to detail. I think Moore vs Terra is a next step for both characters that makes sense. Ditto what I’ve said about retiring. Retiring into “One-Last-Match” fakeout. It would have probably made more sense for Emp to lose to pull this angle but such is comp. Conclusion On the “Arena Movie”, I don’t see why this still happens. If you are recording an entrance and see it, take it off. If you are putting together a match/ recording someone’s entrance for them and see it, (ask them to) take it off. Somehow this show had less pyro than the go-home, go figure. This show was very story-focused. I feel like that is the very obvious takeaway but that’s what I think as well. A lot of matches were either impacted visually by pre-existing storyline or used to further a storyline.Definitely prefer that to a bunch of bleh matches that don’t mean nothing or do nothing. That being said, the next 3 weeks of shows are about to be hectic. Summercide looks to be STACKED and very well could overtake last year’s if people don’t be dolts.

What an interesting show. Still very unsure how I feel about it but maybe by the end of writing this I will have formed an opinion. -3- Is Derek a linguist? Is Derek racist? He opened up his promo tonight with some Spanish...to address OWEN...for seemingly no reason. I wouldn't even have taken note of it if it were not for him speaking French(?) to earlier. I assume we MIGHT see some reasoning behind this later or for this to become a recurring joke for the character. Nonetheless, this triangle story line between Frasier-Owen-Derek is convoluted to say the least. I kinda like it as its different from the regular and it is probably more realistic both in pacing and it is more aligned with how these characters might interact with in real life in a non wrestler setting. That being said, it's not exactly easy to follow along or get attached as I have no idea what's gonna happen next. The Clark Effect on this story-line later in the show made a lot more sense and gave some context to this feud. This pool promo was good on universe building alone. We had 3 storylines being at least somewhat progressed here through great writing. I'm now gonna contradict that and bring up one of my writing gripes between two of the characters. The Jordan-Colby relationship is something that is very cool and something that couldn't be replicated in many other feds to the effect here due to the prestige of their two fathers and the real life time put into developing their story of their families. The one thing that always strikes me as odd, and may be influenced by my personal background being different from the handlers and characters here, is the overbearing frequency of the two referring to each other as "cousin". Now I personally don't think that I refer to any of my brothers or cousins by our familial relation but even beyond that, even if it was they were calling each other their names why would you constantly address the person you are directly speaking to. I also do recognize that Colby does it intentionally in a condescending way towards Jordan cause he sees him as some goofy energetic kid, but that is no reason why Jordan has to call him cousin(as opposed to a nickname or just "Colby") AND for it to be present in every line of narration. I feel like if you want to mention it, you should either do it in narration ONCE, or have someone, probably Colby, use the word during their greeting, and not all of the above. It pulls me out of the rp immersion-wise cause the characters sound inauthentic like Soap Opera or anime characters, which is especially disappointing given how these two characters should be some of the most authentic characters we have and this interaction should be something I look forward to. Now, rant on a single word aside, the Telos-Colby feud is interesting and I like how Telos had to take a second to think of his comeback. And the MMM-Archer side of this rp was fundamental storytelling. Set up something(a pool party) for the face(MMM) and the fans to enjoy, and then have the Heel(Archer) take it away from them or at least revel in it being taken away. Great RP if not evident by all the discussion around it. Now Valk Deepfake aside, which was a great and creative use of the software, the subsequent RP was great. Provided some great explanation of the video. With me being banned, the movie industry swings for a fences and swoops up another OCW Star for a sequel to try and recover as she does too. The rest of the rp was textbook "How to be Egotistical in Wrestling". Valk was able to big up herself AND her past opponents while making everything all about her. Valk then ends the promo by talking about how serious she is taking the match which(in my opinion) is her obviously playing up to the cameras and saying the right things for PR and marketing as her in-character actions say otherwise. This feud is another example(after Terra) of the right way to do Face* vs Heel and even though Valk is largely portraying the same Face that could be seen as a heel, what's different about this feud and her feud with Terra is this is way more of a mirror match up in terms of character. Valk v Terra, was very much a case of "Do Terra's ends justify her means?" as I feel like she was correct in her reasoning for a majority of the feud. On the other hand, this feud is more of a "Wolf vs A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing"(I think there is a better and more accurate saying for that) where Marissa and Valk both share a lot of their negative traits but Marisa is upfront and owns it. -2- The Video FKA "Dejour Yourself!" was a video that was excellently put together. Despite Jasmine's colorful vocabulary, her attempt to entice Justin Jehst worked to a tee and played off of Justin Jehst's tragic flaws. The rest of the action that pursued was also great. Now with Dennis Dillinger, putting his hands on OCW talent, one could argue that it opens up the door for OCW talent to put his hands on him especially given his 0-1 court record but I would never wish anything on a poor innocent man like Dillinger. Dane Xavier's choice to attack Cort Marshall's arm was a very interesting choice but I'm sure will come into play later. That being said, I do hope the Cort Marshall comes back Full Bucky with a metal arm with a giant star on it. Marisa really is improving week after week with the video production. This week's video was something that was very simple but also pretty unique idea that could only realistically apply to feuding with Valkyrie. Again the video was MAD concise. Marisa talked shit, socked a simp, and got out of there in under a minute-fifteen and NO effect was lost in the process. -1- This Derek-Mantis match/segment ughh. Mantis entrance coming in at 2:30, WHY? Even if you were intentionally trying to stretch out the video length, which I don't think was the reason, by the time people get to the match they'll realize that the entrances took almost half the video. Then Derek comes out in a mask...WHY? Is JD some tough no-nonsense wolf recruit that wants to beat people up, or is he some chickenshit heel that likes to play mind games with opponents on a throwaway match with someone that he is very loosely associated with, even though there is some story behind this match, these two characters do not have significant history with each other like...idk Horsey and Caine. Then, what annoyed me more the match's finish is Derek equipping the Horse Stomp. EVEN IF, he got permission(which I don't think he did)there is absolutely no reason for it. It's not like Derek and Horsey have any history. Hell, it's not even like a Derek and Horsey match is on the horizon. When people say "DM Fuckery" this is what they mean. "Kass gets to use someone else's finisher so why can't I?"(not a quote BTW) I just don't understand the reasoning behind it and maybe that's because I don't fully understand Derek's character yet but that's why you should always start off very simple and straightforward. If you want Derek to have some sort of cheek to him or be someone who tries to get into his opponent's head is has to be overdone at the beginning because we don't know Derek. Someone like OWEN, his "Respect" mantra is very over exaggerated right now but that's cause we're still getting to know him and I'm sure eventually he'll add some nuance to his character. And this is all under the assumption that he got permission from Horsey. I also am gonna echo Nate's thought on the finish on how even though Sudden Death rules are always in effect, not letting someone out can strongly decrease the match's quality, but hey if you're gonna steal someone's finish and use it 4 minutes into the match might as well make it the end of the match. Now there's the whole aftermath which is more speculation than fact, and since I'm not gonna be some discord detective over a Turmoil match I'll just give my thoughts from what I've gathered. I'll give props to Mantis, because even though he didn't kick out for whatever reason and he was against letting the fair competitive match air, he atleast stuck around and tried to incorporate some story after the match and wasn't just gonna post the match bare like Derek may or may not have planning to. It seems like Mantis was the one bouncing from person to person trying to salvage this and I'm not gonna hate on him for that. -Intermission- A small question I had regarding the show was on one of the big and important rps on the night. Though I could go and ask the person directly or just go based on my assumptions, I'll publicly post this for anybody that may have had the same question I had on this specific RP line: Our Hero: So instead we gonna go with an elimination match! Whoever gets 2 eliminations wins! Unless I'm not reading it correctly, how in the hell does this work? I assume it's not exactly as it reads as an Elimination Triple Threat but needs Two Eliminations to win as there are a plethora of scenarios where that is literally impossible so something probably isn't right. Is it a regular Elimination Triple Threat, Is it a "First to Score Two Falls" Triple Threat, or is it what I think it actually is and its a SplinterFest style match where you have to pin BOTH of your opponents but there is no elimination involved. Again, I hedge my bets on the last one given the context of the rest of the RP. -Closing Thoughts- This was a very weird show but I don't think it's at the fault of anyone. I think it's only weird because its the Consequence Go-Home which happens to be between two two-night PPVS. I think that a lot of people didn't make Consequence and/or are trying to build for Cide/Supershow and as such the show didn't have the nice wrapping feeling of being a go-home because a lot of feuds aren't ready to wrap up yet. That being said, I think the weird thing I noticed was the obscene amount of pyro on this show. We had this probably show after Lution but then I thought we all calmed down but I guess not. I'm not sure if people were under the impression that the Go-Home show was "big enough" of an occasion but I could have done without it. It's especially weird as it's clear that that sentiment was not universal as the biggest match on the show and the match that featured a returning superstar DID NOT feature any pyro, rightfully so. All that being said, I am still excited for Consequence despite last year's not living up to the hype if I'm remembering right. This is not a bad show by any means on the video or the written part and let's hope we can carry that Lution momentum into the Summer and have a great send-off for Season 16 and WWE 2k19.

Firstly, Caine redid the link cause people were not aware it was Select All That Apply so you probably have to find that on Discord. Second, whenever I make videos, I always try to do something that wouldn't have the same impact in text. With video, I always try to fill the scene with small details that would be lost in text and most importantly, I try not to neglect audio. I do see your point on the powerpoint style vid segments, and I think if you are to do that, you do have to go above and beyond to make the vid atypical. A good example of that is the Cort in Court vid as it had a lot of characters and played around really well with the environment while also paying attention to sound.

H20’s Ted Talk is replayed ICYMI, this time, not in all bold. Not much to say but I mention it only to talk about Harvey and how he’s inconsistently displayed through text and video. To me, it seems that Harvey’s text and video appearances tell different stories. In text, we’ve seen a more relaxed comical Harvey that is trying to get back to his glory days. This seems to be in his own universe and we see some nice interactions with employees, Emp, and Blaine. Perfectly fine. On the other hand, through the video tidbits we’ve seen with Caine and his pre-match package with Garcia, we see a very serious Harvey. One that’s not as clear a character and one that seems more impulsive. At times, he’s this big babyface almost underdog-esque character and at other times, he’s this cocky powerful Heel character that doesn’t have time to face rookies and instead has to go slap the mess out of a drunken Caine. One of these Harvey’s is on top of his game(or atleast thinks he is) and the other is trying to get back to the top. Two conflicting stories. Then, there is the H2OCW Revenge Harvey that is obsessed with Nate Ortiz and he stands somewhere in the middle between these two other characters, both in personality and alignment. The individual appearances are nice but they don’t seem to be cohesive so it’s hard to follow along with Harvey as a viewer. Rust seems to be starting a feud with Iceman, which strikes me as odd considering Nate Mac already has two other animals to worry about. This just seems so weird to me and the only explanation I can think of is Rust(handler) trying to bide his time and do some smaller feuds before Cide after incorrectly assuming he was going to fight John at Consequence. Given La Mujera getting into a feud on this same show before her announced title match at Cide I’d like to think this was true. We also see Aisu for the first time since Lution and reflect on recent events and look forward. Is there any problem with doing smaller feuds? Absolutely not. Would I rather him do this than just sit around and wait until Cide? Absolutely. Speaking of Ze French, Tibi Dupree, does double duty tonight. You know when Dupree is showing up, it’s not to say hi to old friends-something’s going down. And we saw him welcome back Reese AND add some stipulations to the Women’s TItle Match at Consequence in what intentionally seemed like what was going to be a random promo before he was like “You know what? Screw that Thot Terra” Which I can only commend as I too have those thoughts randomly. Marissa’s Valk Segment was a segment that I think went far under the radar despite it being SO good. Classic heel fake out but that’s not what elevated this. This promo had so many banger lines that are so simple yet effective: “I actually fill out this attire”, “Little girl in a woman’s world”. On top of that, despite the 3:00 mark on the video this was a very concise promo. Marisa didn’t say much and she didn’t have to. The second promo raises some questions though. Marisa comes out in a different attire than earlier to fight Quan? This promo is continuing the Asher-Marisa-Mystery storyline, unfortunately due to small things like the attire change, these two seem like they’re happening in different universes or by different characters. Another problem with this storyline as a whole as it being video-oriented is that it's missing a whole lot of context/backstory. Marisa, Asher, and QC begin to seem like TV show characters where things sort of just happen to them. We rarely see them react to events or ever hear what any of them are thinking. Instead, we only get to hear the words they say which is very different. You could place all these Characters in a Soap-Opera, feed them lines, and have them perform on sets and it wouldn’t be any different. They just don’t seem like real people. For example, instead of the Marisa’s response to Valk last week, if we had Marisa do an “off-camera” reaction to Valk’s message where she’s really angry or sad and then had Quan try to comfort her only for Asher to swoop in and take Marisa away because Asher suspects Quan was the masked man that would have done wonders for connecting the two storylines and making all characters involved seem more real. This Main Event was VERY interesting. This may be very influenced by hindsight but it looked like the writing was on the wall. The entrance really gives it all away. In their first two bouts, John came out like the cocky upstart we know him to be, but in the main event we had a John that was serious, yes, but more importantly, he looked more aware of the task in front of him. This was a RESPECTFUL John Carter. One that took Antonio Everrett seriously after learning from his first two losses. Even though I’d say he was equally confident in his abilities, this John Carter was able to recognize Everrett’s nature. Everett followed the exact opposite path. His first two appearances we saw a HUNGRY Everrett as he was at first trying to prove Dominion’s validity as they had just formed about a month prior and in their second match, Everrett was hungry to prove himself after returning from vacation. However, the Everrett we saw on Riot was anything but hungry. This Everrett was satiated with his title win and still riding the high. This Everrett took his foot off the gas(or I guess the “accelerator” for those in the UK) and paid the price. This was evident in the match. While John had shown some improvement and got more offense in, Everett still had a clear advantage all throughout. However, it is through that small window of opportunity that Everrett’s relaxed demeanor had created that John, as we had always known him to do, took full advantage of that and was able to squeak by a win by the hairs on his shitty beard. Also I’m not sure if this was discussed in an RP or if this was randomly thrown in there, but at (you can click that) we can see the back of John’s jacket and see an Elliot Parker decal with some sort of hidden operation that would foreshadow the match’s ending. I thought this was really cool and not sure if it was picked up by anyone else and I’m just being dumb. I would add points for this but I had to deduct points for Elliott Parker coming out in a totally different attire with no given reason. He’s been here long enough but seems to have picked up TWC’s bad habit. I tried the 3-2-1 from Jay but as you all could tell, I had a very loose interpretation of it. Overall the video portion of this show was WAYY better than Turmoil, however I felt like a lot of the writing was worse. Not much on the writing side stood out compared to the last show. I don’t care too much considering we had some amazing video segments coupled with a card that never missed a beat and matches that ALL delivered.

Jake making a WSHH refrence? I think the site going down messed up the timeline.

Note: If I don't mention your promo/segment/match, it doesn't mean I didn't like it or I don't care, I just didn't have anything I found interesting to say about it. Absolutely loved the Flojo-Val promo. Played well with both characters and got me into the match. We got a mystery “Bionic Beauty Queen” who is an “imminent arrival”. Very weird but interesting video and now I really want to see who this is. Props to Flojo and Val on the win. I feel like Marissa’s arrogance of refusing to tag out was played very well as I like to see heels that don’t work together by default like you sometimes see. Really liked the Garcia promo, just ran a little long. He should’ve walked out, said “F You fans. F TWC. F The Whole Reese Family. DDE Forever. Imma go beat up Maxx Edwards, I’m out.” Mantis gets beat up again, by an even more random person. Just Derek. Who jumped him because he faked HMR? And now Mantis is French? I can kinda see the story trying to be told under all of this but I feel like it could be more effectively and more cohesively communicated than just having Mantis getting beaten up every week. But there are definitely people that love this so maybe I’m in the minority. Asher wrote for the show! And it’s a mystery which means (in theory) we’ll get more! I’m sure for some people the ship has sailed long ago but those people can just read the previous statements as sarcasm. He gets promoted and starts writing. I’m sure some people might see that as a negative but if he didn’t write I’d see that as worse so I’m not gonna rag on him. Maybe we’ll see more or maybe this is part of a bigger storyline and I’m greatly overprojecting Asher’s involvement. I’m also glad to see a continuation of the Iceman mystery apartment angle. I was worried it was lost in the shuffle and dropped but it’s not. It was also continued correctly. This week we got to see and hear a little more than the last time. Wrestling Club also beatdown numerous people during this show. For me, this has become very boring/predictable and makes beatdowns a lot less special to me. It’s especially frustrating because we’ve seen SO MUCH characterization among the group in their presentation alone and the little words we’ve seen from them but instead of getting more of that we get to seem them jump anyone who is remotely associated to the group at the time with little to no explanation. Also having that many moving parts makes management a little more difficult which we saw throughout the night with the different attires we saw from Wrestling Club members. I also loved the Dane-Dillinger promo. Really liked Dane’s list of grievances except for this weird logic break where Dane complains about quality of towels in OCW locker rooms but then Dennis later implies that Dane and all of DDE has their own private DDE locker rooms. Justice INC, LLC is a team of 3 writers that are not only great but versatile. We saw it last week with the basketball promo and we see it this week with the graduation party. Quartz-Ryu’s reunion promo was just gold. Spider doing what he does best and twisting history to make his major lapses seem like a stroke of genius. I wish we got a little more explanation on Spider’s interaction with Rust other than just TTT*awkward Spider Smile* but these last 3 written promos were just banger after banger. Jay said that Dane v Elijah was like“2 old people who haven’t touched the sticks in a long time playing” and he’s absolutely right. Match was not bad but ran a little long due to “payback neglect” but it was a good win for Dane at the end of the night. Archer reportedly starting a feud with Jeff Bezos after being blacklisted from using Amazon products and services. Cort-Dennis promo was also money referencing both character’s personal and shared history and seeing how that history shapes the characters we see today. Kota Rain video promo would honestly be really good if we had a different font and more importantly, some more prefacing. This is our second time hearing from Kota and it comes off too strong. To make an analogy, we’ve been hit with heavy showers without any overcast or drizzle beforehand. I really wasn’t a fan of this Colin-Tre(WOV) promo. It didn’t make me wanna see them square off as they really just collectively said “F Danny Watts” here. I also was rubbed the wrong way by the line “maybe if people weren’t trying to do the ooh will Dominion clean sweep the belts story, we would’ve got it” referencing the Lution triple threat as I can’t help but to think that the line WASN”T directed at staff. But I have absolutely no insight on the situation so I firmly accept the fact that I very well might be talking out my behind. This Tony-TWC promo is exactly why I wanna see more from TWC. It was such a good promo. I also noticed this Elliott we’re seeing now is a lot more similar to his discord persona, as opposed to the verbose introspective Elliott we’ve seen before. I think this Elliott is a way better fit for TWC and can be better used to carry his momentum after defeating Kass but only time will tell. That Emp-Moore-Daturas vid segment was amazing. We see some major(and romantic?) development between Emp and Moore referencing their history and all before we’re ripped away from that interaction by the heel Daturas who burned the Sugar Shack. I also wasn’t too much of a fan of this DDE-Jon promo. I liked Dillinger’s and Jon’s involvement but this Parca-Garcia dynamic feels very off to me. Especially this: Garcia: Look at this man. He doesn’t recognize. Parca drops his head into his hand as he let’s out a deep sigh. Parca: Christian, PLEASE tell this rookie he better recognize. I don’t like when people don’t recognize their El Primero. This seems very unnatural to me like some Discord back and forth mixed with some Tribal Chief shenanigans. If Christian is this scrappy Ambitious youngster, I fail to see the reason why he chooses to be Parca’s over-zealous hypeman. I feel like there are a million other ways to go about that dynamic. I feel like Christian could have been a scared Parca’s meat shield always willing to do his dirtywork as I thought he was. Or “CG2” could have literally been “El Segundo” and been the basis for DDE’s future and him and Parca could’ve had a Big Brother-Little Brother dynamic or a “You help me get mine and I’ll help you get your’s when it’s your time” Mentor-Trainee relationship. I saw the CG I want to see earlier in the show with his segment and the beginning of this promo but I just don’t see what Parca has done for CG to warrant all of this. The only person CG should be vehemently defending is Dennis since it seem like he’s the one who took the chance on him and signs dem checks. Maybe I missed a promo Idk. One thing I noticed throughout the show was there was a lot of tiny errors here and there. From a promo being submitted fully in bold to JOHN CENA making an appearance and a lot of other small things here and there. I HOPE this is just me being really nit-picky and isn’t a sign of people trying to do too much too fast. Overall, this show was really a meh show to me. And don’t get me wrong it was still a good show but the OCW scale is pretty skewed. There wasn’t really many bad segments and there definitely were standouts but I feel like last Riot was WAY better. IDK, has OCW spoiled my taste? Possible. Maybe I’ll watch next week’s Raw to bring my expectations back down.

ULTRA Riot 572: Consequences of Wrestlution
Maxx Edwards replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in The Daily Suplex
The difference between a long good show and a long shit show is that a long good show feels filling, because it has some meat to it. This show is an example of a good long show. Great Opening Segment to open up the show with Quartz delivering his Post-Lution address and setting up the OCW World Title Picture with some people that got some good momentum to them and the returning Sissay destroyer. Cobra is an example of how confidence and comfort can really elevate someone’s skill. Even though there were some FPR issues during the match, It’s good to see Cobra hang around some more and catch his stride a little bit. Owen still has a lot to learn but I have no doubt that he’ll get better as he has shown to have the drive and interest to do so. Harvey got dreads because...astrology? H2OCW Revenge ain’t over I guess. And he dropped a freestyle to a Youtube Type Beat!?!?!? You really need to go read this for yourselves, this place is wild mann. You either love Harvey or you don’t and this personifies that. Dane Ramsey giving us a preview. I like it…a lot. This Iceman-TLB&Mantis feud has me thoroughly confused. We just came off a Lution where Mantis and Blacksmith set up a literal ambush on Iceman but now we see Mantis gets beat up and based on the post-segment promo we’re supposed to feel sorry for him? This ain’t doing it for me. Elliott’s(character) wife is getting into Wrestling/OCW. I would be more supportive of this but I can’t help but think this would mean we see less character development for Elliott himself, something he desperately needs. Justice INC LLC. vs WOV in basketball!?!? Who the F- Plays to 21 by 1’s and 2’s!? This promo reminds me of the weird Street Profits vs Viking Raiders segments we had. Chris Baxter and his editing woes. I’m sure you’re being talked too about it and if not you can DM me and we can sort it out. Not even mad though. In fact, this shows how spoiled we have all been with video content from everyone and anyone. It’s not that long ago Jamie had his editing woes or when B17 showed up to the wrong Turmoil arena. Re: El Parca: In the words of Kanye West, “My Presence is a present, kiss my a$$” Terra vs Our Women’s Champion “No Talk Just Hands” Empress. I’m all for it. Aye Dupree! Where’s Kass’s special briefcase? #Justice4KassidyHayes H20 all over the show. He beautifully connects a lot of puzzle pieces in his second promo. Parca tried to do what H20 did right after him. Didn’t come off as well. Sorry bubba, no redos. Spider ain’t gone. Still in his vermin ways. IDK what happened with Anderson but props to Telos for overcoming that. New character is teased but I think we already know who it is?? That Harvey-Emp-Blaine promo was G O L D E N. Promo of the night for me Cobra proved this and got me thinking but Elliott solidified it. Confidence and comfort goes a long way in the ring. I’ll be honest, when I made the ad for Maxxed Out, I had no idea what I was gonna do. But I knew I wanted to do Maxxed Out as they’re always a lot of fun and they’re formatically easy(just pictures and text)but they leave a lot of room to play with as you’re not really using much from the game. Overall, I was able to improve and have fun with the edits and create a relatively succinct promo and be able to hit my points. I was personally very happy with this promo and was glad it was received well. Also this show has a lot of "upsets" or times where if it was scripted the other man would have won. A lot of people's "momentum" got "crushed" but we all know it doesn't work that way round here. Now, in terms of OCW, I feel like this show reveals how “healthy” it is. I say healthy because there is so much movement going on but it’s not too fast. I mean just this show, take two previously weak divisions, the women’s and tag team’s. The Women’s saw a lot of their members transition smoothly into new feuds, and we see some new and some returning faces. The Tag Team’s saw a lot of teams/stables either form or get a new member in recent weeks, and overall had a lot of development even after we just had a 3 way Tag Match where two of the teams disbanded afterwards. Finally, I’d like to say Jake said this, that this show wasn’t crowded and that people are taking their time. At first, I disagreed due to the sheer length of this show but in retrospect, he’s absolutely right. Not everyone “got their shxt in” and it’s okay. Certain things from Lution weren’t touched upon and other segments(video and written) left me with more questions than answers but that’s okay. This is a weekly show. Not everything has to be some neatly-tied self-sufficient package. That’s what the go-home and PPV is for. This show was really good at BEGINNING to lay some of the pieces of the Post-Lution OCW landscape, and there is not much more you can ask for from a show coming off of a huge show. Bat some crazy empty Turmoil(which I think we would still be okay given the other show we had before Lution that was empty) I think OCW is in a good place.- 19 replies

Turmoil 266: PLUS ULTRA - The Go Home Show!
Maxx Edwards replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in The Daily Suplex
Y'know, I said last show that it felt like a go-home but it's clear I was VERY VERY wrong. This show had everything you could ever want AND more and Lution can't come any sooner. Jay made a last call for RPs and either he was overreacting or IT WORKED(in reality, it was probably a mix of both), cause this show had the WORDS. We got a Contract Signing for Caine & TLB which might have went under the radar for most. We get a solo promo from TY and we get one from Derek. We also got a Derek & Christian Garcia(Not to be confused with a myriad of other Dark Haired Fair Skinned Rookies)promo. Then there's the EMP segment. It takes a certain level of Creativity and Insanity to even attempt that. Then it takes an insane amount of skill(that we all know EMP has) to pull it off. Just outstanding and week after week, I'm proud of all of us for continually trying to push our own boundaries whether that's on the sticks, on the mic, or in the editing booth. Outstanding Work from Emp. It takes a lot to make the same two people fight for a championship for the third time but I'm sure we all wanna see the conclusion as Emp has continually increased the stake time after time. Also shoutout to Nate/Jay(I think primarily Jay)for putting over the segment(as if it needed to) and having continuous updates on the arena and not having any matches or in-ring segments playing for quite a while. It's one of those things that he didn't need to do but it shows how his passion for this is still in it as he still tries to make it an even more immersive experience. I'd also like to talk about one of the most slept on matches on the show which was AC Cobra vs Chris Baxter. I think the props go to Jay for booking this one? Nonetheless, these are two of our most experienced handlers that might not get the same love as others and it was nice to see them square off and absolutely overdeliver on expectations. Loved everything about the match(and the Baxter promo afterwards[PS you don't need the "*" to show action. Just make sure its bolded]). Watch The Peg Leg! And the announcement at the end, shout out to Jake(who I presume made the vid segment)and Jay for getting in their live action Roleplay bag and getting their acting chops out. On a more serious note, this is amazano as its so nice to have a story that builds so naturally for so long and doesn't feel forced and then to have the surprise involvement of Jay followed by the surprise announcement its so nice as it was truly a surprise as everyone involved kept their mouth shut so no one knew the match was happening and certainly the stakes were out of nowhere. We finally get to see this long standing feud get its resolution at Wrestlution and it's great as it really feels conclusive. After the match, if Jay wins, he doesn't get to hear any more people trying to give Spider the credit he doesn't deserve and Spider has to accept the fact he's trash, and if Spider wins, Jay is forced to finally recognize him as a HOFer. Overall, I'm sure this sentiment will/has been repeated so much but this show was just Incredible! Regardless of how Lution turns out and how it compares to last year, I have no doubt in my mind that the builds for this Lution blow it out the water. I have never been more hyped for any PPV and that includes real PPVs from my childhood(I was kinda broke so I couldn't ever really afford to watch them and didn't get that hyped but that's not the point). Even the matches that seem like they've been thrown together, take the FIs, for example have had so much build since their announcement from multiple members of each respective match. Then you have all the tag matches and grudge matches. Jay has always talked about how this isn't a "Participation Era" and he's right except for the fact that everyone on that card has worked for it. After last Lution and for much of last season, we rode on a high of doing great work and having great content and doubts were raised if this season could live up to that. We're over the mid way point and we have not lost a step. Even with a 3 year old game we have been able to use it in new ways and still create fresh content to go along with fresh matches thanks to the rule changes/stat class rework. It's truly been an "All hands on deck" experience so it's fair to say we've all worked for the great shows we're getting. Last week was phenomenal and this week set the bar higher. Thank you to Staff and everybody else that was involved in making this the weird place we all love. (I"M LITERALLY TEARING UP WTF IS THIS) -
Oh Boy, I know the reaction to the videos was stellar but the writing content was superb and a lot of the promos had some WEIGHT. Dillinger appeared multiple times throughout the show talking to Rust and Parca. We also seem to have a date on a payoff for Dillinger’s newest client at Lution(?). Parca also potentially contacting Dillinger behind Reese’s back? Who knows? Val capitalizes off of her win with a promo and builds some tension heading into FI. Very nice. We had the Dominion Summit Town Hall Meeting Press Conference of sorts. The group tries to publicly bury the hatchet heading into the most important weekend in the group’s life. Christian with a double appearance, establishing a relationship with Wrex and his overall persona as a “Real” total package wrestler. Good stuff, I really like it and can’t wait to hear more. SCREW JAKE, and he knows exactly why. He just had to drop a banger video and it’s gonna inspire me to drop a banger and we’re going to have to go back and forth. 60 Minutes with Our Hero and Spider was a culmination of weeks of suspension and back and forth that was preceded by YEARS of tension between the two. A Kassidy Gaming segment returns and builds FI Key story development in the Judge-Trance saga. Parker capitalizes off his win and we get some Parker Math and he mentions (In AJ Styles’ voice)”The GAMING community” Valk big times the mess outta Terra cause she don’t care about Terra’s problems. HILARIOUS! A Int Title Faceoff also features right before the main event. All the matches and video content was good. Sudden Death was in full effect tonight. Overall, this RIOT had the BIGGEST go-home show energy. Every projected Lution match had some build. Emp - Holly had 2 Promos. Pride Match. Both FIs. Wrestling Club and Lucha Country ran while in video and text format respectively. Every Title and Grudge Match had a mention and development and it led to a very consolidated and well put together show up from last week. Hope we can carry this momentum into a great Go-Home show and have a banger Lution.

I ain't gone touch on the video cause I think we all generally got the same gist from all of them, so I'll touch on some of the writing stuff at first glance. Spoilers...duh Colin Locke had a nice introductory champion promo that took shots laid out names and was pretty concise. This show also seemed to be very reactionary to Dupree's announcement, not a bad thing, just a lot of talk about Future Investment while the other lution matches got some ACTION. Anarchist MD wrote for the show and Dynamite Darryl Webster. Dillinger tries to contact another OCW tag team star while avoiding Parca, interesting. Wrestling Club ALL Challenging for Titles. Let's see if the Lution Tag can recapture the spark the original Lucha Triangle match had. Sad to see a lot of this show fall out behind the scenes but it does say something the fact that it happened...BEHIND the scenes. Other than the show running very short it still had good matches and was quite entertaining. Ain't no slowing down on the Road to WRESTLUTION!

I wanted to reference Ijitu Quartz because I wanted the crowd to think it was your video package and that you were coming out. Inside Quartz head, but also inside audience head and having that extra spice.
-
I am a madman and in the words of Smash Mouth, "And they don't stop coming. Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running."So Here Are The Words!! Spoilers...Duhh! I originally planned to review everything but many of the promos were short promos that set up a match or another promo and hence may be excluded from this review. If your promo is not in this review here is a mid 2000s emoticon thumbs up to make yourself feel good about yourself, !3. Pugh Calls out Tiberius Dupree Here we have Pugh continuing his quest to vs Nate. This time he focuses his attention at Dupree who has denied him the match previously. I liked this promo especially how he turned to the fans at the end to let their voices be heard. It is a bit weird as he is trying to pull off the cocky babyface and bigs himself up but...gotta sell the match right? Overall, good promo. Ashley makes Emp drop her hot dogs You read that title correctly. These two came into an altercation of sorts, and after Ashley ruined her after dinner snack of two NY hot dogs, Emp wants that belt. I’m down for this feud. Chubby Emp making a world title grab after dealing with Heather. Feels like a rightful challenge and I can’t wait to see more of the creativity from these two. Locke & Key A “Pure” Locke & Key segment where Collin finds out he is fighting Quartz!?! Not exactly but Quartz and Spider do make an appearance. They inform him of his real opponent next week, AC Cobra. This also sets up the video segment that would happen later in the show. Good Promo that provided a lot of context and progressed the story while also plugging in some comedy. Parca at the Hospital Parca puts over the Young Old Talent, you love to see it. In other news, LC reunite! Also foreshadows LC potentially having to be forced to vacate due to Parca being out of action for an extended period of time. I guess we’ll have to tune in to see what happens. Decent promo, but gets lost in this long show especially with it being a hospital promo. At Least it didn’t overstay its welcome. Nate Gathers an Army Nate putting over the Young Old Talent you love to see it! Nate also has the crowd support him on his mission against Dupree to face Quartz and Pugh. I’m not sure why but this was such a fun promo to read even though it was so short. We later realize that Nate is Trump. That’s it. That’s all you get outta me, I ain’t gonna talk about any of the future accompanying promos because they’re self explanatory greatness. Read the show and see what I mean. Kass meets Revolution Incorporated Useless snake Kassidy Hayes goes to congratulate Quartz on his championship because he’s a face...Then he tells TY to back off which was hilarious as everyone gets an apology except TY who was very much in Kasstianity. The apology tour continues and Kass makes it clear here that he is not after World Championship gold. I wonder what he is after….hmmmm? Heather confronts Moore Everybody wants the belt. Book Em All. We got Emp, Heather and Zoe all looking at the belt and we’re only half way through the show. Makes the belt feel valued and sought after and shows the strength of the women’s division. Holly confronts Moore MOOOOOORE WOMEEEEN! Ditto the last post. Terra calls out Valkyrie Loove this feud. Is Terra in the right? Absolutely. Is Valkyrie a heel? Technically not. She still has the fan support and Terra is the more violent one so Terra is still the heel while Valkyrie is the face. But Valkyrie is acting overly cocky, but she is admitting her wrongs and doesn’t want to hurt Terra, but Terra still has a point though...this is playing out like a Marvel movie and I’m all here for it! Choose your side, place your bets, and enjoy the drama! Judge-Trance fallout Again, Looove this brand new feud more specifically, looove Jordan Trance here. He is such a nicely put together character that real life wrestlers, *cough* Ricochet *cough*, should probably take inspiration from. Not only is he edgy (What’s edgier than Pop Punk?), not only is he rebellious(He is LITERALLY fighting the LAW), but he stands for what's right and supports the literal and figurative little man. He IS THAT teenage baby face. It doesn’t come off as corny, he doesn’t have some ultra smooth faced hunk and he isn’t some perfect do-it-all athlete but he fights for what’s right. WOOOO. Beat that crooked Judge! Was not expecting this tonight. What a bounce back from almost being HMR. Damn! I need more of this, my wallet is out, where can I see this scrap? Blacksmith responds to B17 The exact same crowd that chanted “Horsey ain’t shit” is now cheering Horse!?!? Fickle fans never like any of them. Anyways, I guess this is Face vs Face? Even though I thought it clearly shouldn’t be. But I think these two are flipping the script around and B17 is slowly heading towards a heel turn after a rewatch of his promo. Regardless, if we’re judging the two promos on what’s a better face promo? I think Horsey mopped the floor. He played the sympathy card extremely well here. I commend him for that as it’s a risky card to play. One misstep and you bury yourself. Horsey played the card like it was he was about to lose in Yu-Gi-Oh and he believed in the heart of the cards. Outstanding promo that makes me want to see the match way more now. Good on both men for not taking the easy way out with how we all thought this feud was going to head towards. Cort Marshall’s Calls out KD Continuing this run of interesting character work, especially on the face side that we’ve seen tonight, we got Cort Marshall! Cort is ready for war and his patriotism is on full display tonight in the very best of ways. Great video integration into the RP and I guess we have another match at the Clash. Now I am under the assumption, that some combination of Nate Ortiz, Pugh, and Quartz are gonna main event the Clash because...you just heard me say those names. But I am so excited for all of these feuds that I guess would be under them, I’m actually very much pumped. March 13th, Save the date. twitch.tv/ocwfed. Be There! P3 Bonanza Some people don’t like these segments because they break from the established realm of OCW but that’s exactly why I like them. They offer a nice break from the seriousness and all the wrestletalk that surrounds OCW this is a nice break that always makes me feel like I’m reading a comic book, and I’m too young to really have had comic books. Love these segments. Moore enters the House of Faith Moore got big timed by Flojo! That’s hilarious. And oh lord. Well there are now some stakes for Flojo if she loses...any match? Lotus joining the House of Faith has breathed some new life into her and I love it. Seems fresh outside and inside the ring. Blaine’s Promos I wasn’t gonna forget about Blaine. PICTURES! Is what stands out to me from this set of promos. Here we have Blaine checking herself into a motel room in a series of promos that seem meaningless and then BAM. She meets a grim ending (shoutout Nate Mac). This was very unexpected as it appears MMM slid into her room on some ninja ish, slumped her, took her kidney?!? And is now trying to blackmail her into giving him the bar. That might not be exactly true but there is something with the logo and a movie reference that I am not quite understanding as my OCW AND movie history is not up to par. Unless I am supposed to be missing something? Either way, I’m very interested in this arc and want to see where it goes. Although I didn’t enjoy the consistent mention of this one irrelevant hairless OCW wrestler that was in some bum movie. Regardless, interesting stuff, nice payoff! That about wraps the show for me. Really Great stuff from all parties involved, especially the faces that seem to be on display tonight in the written promos. Really solid show that puts us on the fast track to the Clash. Quality stuff everyone, hope we can keep the momentum.

More words to accompany all of the words. Haven’t read the whole show yet, only bits and bobs, but will probably review all of the words later, didn’t want to run into the character limit lol. The NEW OCW International Champ Danny Watts, CELEBRATES! Getting started with what probably is my least favorite video segment on the show, not to say that it was a bad segment. We get to see the new champion who is sporting an entirely new look. He stakes his claim as the leader of the division and that is kind of it. Would’ve loved to see some update on what this is gonna bring to the future of Dominion or the Int Division in specifics. Felt like a promo made out of obligation for winning a new belt, but it was nicely made and he got his point across in a relatively concise manner. QC Connect Cuts A Promo A video segment from Marissa Welch that doesn’t star Marissa Welch, or so we thought. Nice to see some development from QC Connect and them calling out Evelyn made sense for the Marissa sneak attack because female v female and it made Marissa look strong instead of just having multiple muscular non-wrestler men beat up a muscular woman. Overall, good video from Marissa. HERE COMES THE JUDGE BABY! Shorter than the last Judge segment but we get the gist. That is until Judge refuses to let go showing some progression in the story and in the character until Jordan Trance comes to make the save. Good video, nice to see Trance getting right into another feud after his last one and we’ll see how the small vs big guy dynamic plays out. Judge-ing from the video, these two men are gonna play it good to the level we expect from them. Evelyn Parker vs. 'Purple' Lotus Flojo First match of the night. Good choice showing two relatively fresh or unseen characters to open things up. Flojo started the match off destroying Parker as expected. Continuing the theme, Lotus allows Parker to get back into it(good from Parker on the comeback). HOWEVER, where we might expect Lotus to throw the match away when they were both in the danger show she was able to keep her composure and put away Parker after some intense back and forth. Good match and it showed some real character development from Flojo perhaps already seeing the perks of joining the House of Faith. Alex Asher vs. Colin Locke World’s busiest show host Colin Locke pulled out all the stops tonight appearing in multiple written segments, a match and a video rp. Both men haven’t been in action since making an attempt at the International Champion with Locke last appearing in the #1 contender multiman and Asher last appeared way back when at End Games. Fun match that had its kinks. Always nice to see Move Thief being used on TV with Asher showing some dominance but both men really leaving it all out there. Deadly Golf with Kassidy Hayes & A.C. Cobra! Interesting use of the word “Deadly”. Nonetheless, another installment in the Kass V Cobra video game feud with a special run in from yours truly. This one definitely had some funny moments but felt a bit weird in context of the whole show with the more serious Kass we would see later in the night. Good promo, as usual, Kass delivers. B17 has a message for The Last Blacksmith! B17 tries to avenge his mishap and goes for the video rp. Comes out eloquently groomed and tries to add some legitimacy to their feud by bringing some history into it. Solid promo. Reinforced the dynamics of the feud but nothing groundbreaking. "BIG BEEF BATTLE" Tre Golden vs Mark Reese Your A-Typical Beef Battle. Loved seeing Reese still being relevant while his partner is in the hospital. Loved the LC vs WOV dynamic. Loved the match. Reese won the match only for him to be outnumbered in the post match beatdown. Liked seeing Nate Mac attempt some video work. Beatdown was a bit long and in a way teased a run-in save from someone but it never happened. I guess Reese is out of action now? We’ll have to wait and see. The Wrestling Club vs. DOC & H2O Welcome to OCW! For your second match, you wanna vs Rookie World Champ, King of OCW, Doc Green and Longest Reigning World Champ H20.? No, well we were never really asking you. DOC & H20 got to get all of their rehearsed spots and TWC couldn’t do much about it. That’s not to say that they were getting beat silly out there. TWC still showed some match and ring awareness and were able to prolong the inevitable pretty well. Call ‘Ravishing’ Rick cause these rookies just got a ‘Rude Awakening’. Nonetheless, I fully expect TWC to go forward with this as they have in the past and am on the lookout for a vid promo on Turmoil. "Kid Ego" Paul Pugh: Greatest of All Time? This promo on its own seems out of the blue but going together with the written rp at the beginning of the night Pugh seeks to make his case as the GOAT in order to convince Dupree and get his match with the GTGOAT. Nicely put together and comes in at just over a minute to not overstay its welcome. Good video package. Marisa's 2nd Strike! The part two to the action witnessed earlier in the night as Marissa targets Evelyn’s assistant. One would think that she would be by Evelyn’s side consoling her after her loss but here we are. Marissa continues producing good video content, this one with a questionable ending but I guess it had to go along with the music. Kassidy Hayes Has Something To Get Off His Chest! Kassidy Hayes continues his tour by apologizing for...not winning the LHW Champ? Sort of a weird premise but Kass calls out the King who answers the call. Makes sense for both competitors as they try to work towards a match at the Clash. Colin Locke and The Storage Wars! Whaa?!? Who greenlit this?!? Why was this what we didn’t know we needed?!?! They had a budget, picked a theme and stuck to it. Colin Locke continues to branch out and show his expertise!?!? Man just go watch it SURPRISE SISSAY! It's BIG KD! KD comes back in his signature video promo style to answer all of the questions. He addresses everything in the only way he knows how with this one probably being my favorite KD promo to date. Great stuff. Maxx Edwards vs Quartz Tried to throw the audience for the loopty with the video package in the beginning and it kinda worked!?!? Came out in a Kass Clash colorway afterwards and of course Quartz changes his theme. Think I did pretty good up until the end where I couldn’t reverse. Quartz got this one but I almost had him. Valkyrie vs. La Mujera Obscura Main Event. Ooh boy this was a wild one. La Mujera showing no sympathy in the beginning for the returning Valk. Seems all done and dusted but Valk not going down without a fight. Unfortunately, La Mujera was ready and did not let Valk come away with the win. Great match to end the night. Terra coming out afterwards and does not run with the usual beatdown. Instead, she decides to play mind games which I absolutely love to see. Loved the videowork with the Dutch angle or Tilt on after Terra places the chair on Valk’s injured leg to promote uneasiness and that psychological warfare. Good job to all 3 women. Overall loved the show thought it came together nicely. Good job to everyone but I will repeat Jay's point, Where is this energy on the PPV?

We see a TV Screen switch channels, stopping occasionally, before fixating on the last few minutes of the The Late Night Show w/ Johnny Kibble on the MBC network. Kibble: Ladies and Gentlemen, please help me in introducing our last guest of the night. Appearing in the new hit movie, Montana James and The Cave of Terror, put your hands together for Maxx Edwards! A Band plays the moviestar in as the in-studio audience starts cheering. Kibble: Welcome Maxx! How are ya doin’? Maxx: I’m doing great, thanks for having me! Kibble: Amazing, now w- The TV shuts off. We see a man in the reflection sitting opposite the television. Not much can be made out other than the plate of steak and potatoes from which he is eating. He bangs the plate on the table and we see some gravy go flying as he sets it down. ???: Maxx Edwards.. son of a bitch is tormenting me!! He kisses his teeth before getting up and walking off.

FINALLY, The Riot has come back...it's about damn time. Anyways, here is my review. P.S. Parca I stole your headers...FIGHT ME. H2O Celebration Video This was overall a cool vid. The montage in the beginning of H20's career was nice and he did World Champ things still showing the cool battle scars but still calling out Rust Cohle. Rust came out and made himself credible, real credible. I think the real star of this promo was Harvey's haricut. WHAT THE FOOK IS ON THE TOP OF YUR HEAD? Are hairlines supposed to be that crooked? Moving on, good shit to everybody involved. Solomon Caine Promo Caine went off on this promo and the following calling upon his inner Jim Cornette, trying to get Tucker over. Absolutely love it! Combine that with his meta "Mark" reference and Tucker saying "Let's Go" in an assumed calmer and more serious tone you can't go wrong. Aisu's Lock Horn Challenge A nice surprise in 1. Seeing these Lock Horn challenges amount to something and 2. A surprise title match on an already stacked card to open up the show. Sadly, we missed out on an "Akita, Throw it up!" but we got one later in the show. A couple of misplays on Shepards part in the latter stages of the match definitely cost him the title but hey, it happens to the best of us. Really excited to see what Aisu does with a title. #Lee & Wrex Promo In the words and voice of Jay, we have Wrex being "a scummy motherfucker" and yelling at the "Doc" who at first glance I thought was Doc Green to clear him. Really, liked how *pound sign*Lee came across in this promo and here's to hoping Wrex can climb his way back to the top without help even though here he is clearly getting help but that's besides the point. Maxx Edwards & Joshua Tucker Promo You guys saw what happened. The "focking" nerve of "Tucka" to deny my gifts. Should've no-showed smh... Tibdup Special Announcement.. AGAIN! I found this odd. Correct me if I'm wrong and call me a fortune teller but I could've sworn Archer vs. Leo was always a #1 Contendership Match for the Pride Title. Anyways, always love to see Tib being phreaking Tib. Archer & Elijah Sanders Promo This Arch-Sanders, teacher-student, storyline continues with Archer testing Sanders on his pre-match strategy. Can't hate it. Sanders not better than me though, so it's whatever. Sorry...not sorry? Chaos Counts Anywhere Tornado Tag Match Bit of a shame we couldn't use that stipulation to its fullest. Match kinda seemed like two concurrent 1-on-1 matches but it is what is. I think Asher got messed up with the Targeting at the end but I'm not one to complain. Then me and Tuck had a little post-match interaction building on our previous promo. GGs to everyone involved. Ashley Moore & Debbie D Promo Debbie is a treat, but also in a slightly different way, She "copied my whole fucking flow, word-for-word, bar-for-bar!" Love Ashley in this promo and I'm glad she got the last laugh although I wonder if this was written before or after the match was recorded. Thomas Archer vs Leo Grimm I'm not even gonna mention it even though y'all want me too, but how do still mess up the music behind that so its not sync-I said I won't. For some strange reason, Leo's simple theme always get stuck in my head everytime I hear it and has me going "I AM THE GOD OF!" for the rest of the day. To echo Parca's statements the way reversals were treated throughout this match made it look very good...in the beginning. Then, Archer kinda ran away with it and we see him pick up the victory on his first match since Lution. GG to both of these dudes and I am interested into seeing where this match takes both of them moving forward. P3 Promo(Duh!) This promo was a blast as we get our regular serving of P3 this time taking place at E3, (really taking advantage of that alternate universe, going to a gaming convention huh?). Basically we have a high stakes race and it was all good fun but I will let y'all read this one for yourselves. Doc & Antonio Promo Depressed ass Ev gets scolded by and talked down to by Doc Green. Ev gets blamed for everything wrong that's happened before DG states "we are no different to each other", in the most hypocritical way. I'm not sure if this was intended but maybe Ev is not "ze bad guy" and I came out of this promo feeling very sorry for him. Wrex & Hollywood, USA Promo Another Doc promo back-to-back? Nope, just another Wrex promo, and joining us this time around is Jehst and Marshall. Wrex does his usual scum shit before peacing the scene after seeing Marshall's "rash". But alas, another letter from Jehst's secret admirer. Always good stuff from Hollywood USA but we stay on the hunt as they mystery continues. Women's #1 Contender Fatal Four Way Lot of Big-Boy alts in this one, seemingly stacking the cards up against Flojo. Here, we see Debbie D continue her rise in OCW as she might find herself Champion of her division before she hits 4 wins in OCW. #FluffLee and LC Promo In this promo we have Parca correcting the very big blunders of two very big men. We also have Lee eyeing down the Parca's singles title potentially aiming to take it off of him. Nice stuff and an interesting potential storyline. What was astonishing, was the apparent lack of Trust we saw from Reese in this as he questions Parca before Parca appeases him with food, surprising. Ashley Moore Post Fatal Four Way Promo Short and sweet Ashley promo pulling the classic Connor Mcgregor "Who the fook is that guy?" on her next challenger. Excited to see the match. Tre Golden & Danny Watts Promo Tre Golden tries to silence his critics and show why he's THE MAN(no pun intended) with his weirdly non-descript accomplishments. All of a sudden, at the mention of his father's name Danny Watts appears out of thin air and has a Macho-Off with Tre to which he loses. Tre then issues a SummerCide challenge to which Watts accepts as Tre desperately tries to get back into the title picture ASAP and even lets Watts pick the stipulation. Loved this promo. Antonio Everrett vs Elliot Parker Another title match another missed "Akita, Throw It Up!" :'( Antonio's new demeanor is evident in his entrance here. This match was pretty short and sadly, pretty one sided. Hopefully Parker can pick himself up, and not lose too much of a step. Then, we have a surprise as Terra comes out, and instead of being a beacon of shining light for Everrett she joins Everrett in his adventures through darkness and gives Parker a punt to the babymaker because "Why not?". Tucker, Asher, and Mantis Promo In Tucker's 4th appearance of the night we have him sort of have him asking a meta question we've all been asking of "Hey man, could you like do something so I could like you more?". Then Tucker tags Mantis in to rag on Asher as Mantis questions the hostile Loverboy about the ending to our match tonight. Throughout this, Asher remains a tweener and instead of choosing a partner he is says "Fuck you" to both guys before they leave him with some thoughts to ponder on. Good stuff from the three of you lot. Wrex vs Justin Jehst The "Charisma Cannon" Justin Jehst faces off against a banged up Wrex in his 3rd appearance of the night (pandemic got OCW short-staffed lol) in what seemed to have been a very one sided match at first. Jehst did manage to make somewhat of a comeback towards the end before Wrex said "I'm done here". So close yet so far, Jehst loses this one as Wrex picks up a W. GG to both competitors. Flojo Post Match Promo Jim working overtime tonight getting his mic ripped yet again as Flojo drops a banger promo that has somehow got a parody of a song older than me stuck in my head. Here we have, Flojo trying to pick herself up and dust herself off after her loss tonight. Enjoyed the promo a lot and poor Jim. B17 & Jacob Trance Promo Despite the weird Morrison Method break midway through the promo, we have a B17 promo where he questions Trance's involvement in the attack on Nate which obviously summons Trance immediately. This promo got heated and personal quick as Trance continuously cries that B fucked his wife "Long Dick Style" and that he is a backstabber. This then breaks out into a fight and let me just say, Jamie has been doing numerous fight scene or wrestling in his written promo and I'm all here for it, I love it! Anyways, Trance takes quite the back bump catching B with the Fatbreaker out of mid-air and sets up B17 vs. Trance. I'm sure the two of you don't need me to tell you how nicely this was done. El Parca vs TY Sparks Jr Finally we have our Yake in the booth for a title fight. In the main event, Parca comes out in a Yankee attire because "The Double Champ does what the FOOK he wants!"(Sorry, I've been playing a lot of UFC) and sets to defend his title against Sparks. Insert a Dolph Ziggler "It should've been me" joke here and we're good to go. These two put a real barn burner in this one. In this great back and forth match, we have Parca desperately trying to hit a TIT(Yes that's the acronym for Trouble in Tijuana, I see what you did there Parca) and Sparks desperately avoiding it. Ultimately, The Yankees win yet again as Parca hits the sig-fin combo to put away Sparks. Good Game to both of these guys and what a Main event. Nate Ortiz & Aries Promo To end the night we have Nate come out to a roaring written crowd. Lot of meta things tonight even discussed on commentary in the ME but now we have Nate calling Aries a "flake" for coming and leaving. Nonetheless, Aries arrives to the audience's displease and says "Guys, I know I lossed in the past! But gimme another shot!" too which Nate gladly tried to take him up on the offer before Aries responded "Not here, you dumb nut at a PPV" setting up another match between these two legends. I look forward to it and I assume everyone reading this is also so I don't think there is much to say on this nicely put together promo. Overview I really liked this show top-to-bottom. A lot of great matches and really great writing on this show. Props to everyone who contributed even though we saw a lot of the same faces. It's too god damn for all of this, I planned to go to sleep around two hours ago but this took a lot more time to write. In the words of a masked Babe Ruth, "Adios".
