Spent pretty much all of yesterday "Saturday" working on a rankings system. Some of the OCW dudes saw it. Ran into a problem, cried for a few hours, punched some walls, cried a little bit more, watched some "Life" on Hulu with that smoking hot Sarah Shahai. Felt better fixed the problem in the code. Now working on chopping it down to bits, seems to be going ok. Now whether or not I will be able to encapsulate (put it inside the OCW HEADER) Remains to be seen. I still need to butcher it and remove all the unwanted stuff (Its source code ironically from an updated version of V2's old League mod that some guys took over) All in all its sort of pretty, well not really its not the Rankings fault its more the fact its just numbers and well numbers arent all that pretty. Even still after I butcher the code I still have to edit some CSS (Which I suck at) Overall we have found a winner. This sucker uses an ELO system modified to our needs. Its pretty comprehensive, and I even managed to add an FPR Ranking system in it to. So when you guys call jacob trance a cunt you can add that and it will reflect on the FPR Ranking. I am pretty excited thou to say the least. The software is not without problems thou. This time around im going to let you dudes report matches and the like. Its fairly simple and its all there in black and white in the ranking FAQ. But when everything is said and done I am please to say we will have another dynamic in the spirit of competition. Oh yea and while I have you people. For 2009 UPDATE YOUR WRESTLER PROFILES I am tired of looking through wrestlers and seeing blank spaces. Take some pride in what you do people. Once we start im going to start calling out folks who dont update. And you know how I get. Martin what you just said is the exact reason why we have had a slumpy season right there. The new kids just dont see it. Did you know upon winning a title at a ppv 2 nights later Nate was put into a 2 on 1 match for his title and won. Did you know that during spoons incredibly long and annoying title run he defended that title each week if not every other week including pay per views. Did you know during Parkers initial and subsequent second Hardcore title run, he defended his title a total of 31 times. Thats the problem you kids have gone soft, I just won the title why do I have to defend it? Why because you are a champion and being a champion means you are the baddest motherfucker on 2 feet. And guess what if you drop the strap that quickly then you really arent a champion you are a place holder for when the big motorscooter comes to town. This is 2009, the meek will not inherit the earth, This is O C fucking W you want it you take it, you take it you earn it, you earn it you fucking DESERVE IT. Wake up people. Welp the new year is almost here, its been pretty quiet. The funny thing is its been quiet but not dead. This proves OCW has the longevity it needs to keep going. Anyway with the new year upon us there will be some changes I really hope I dont have to repeat myself but when the time is right I will just to be safe. We already know about The MORRISON METHOD, title entrances, the PPV List etc. Whats coming thou is a call to arms so to speak. It is time for people to step up to the place. As much as I like to police you folks its going to come a time when you have to police yourself, not because its the popular thing but because it is the right thing to do. Case and point the new theme for the 2009 season is "EARN". I want to repeat that "EARN". We are making headway with the new store, achievement, and ranking system. Its not about the quick fix its about EARNING what you want. I know thats going to put a damper on the ADD KIDS. But thats ok those are not the kind of people I want in my community. I want people to look back and feel a sense of accomplishment for what they earned. And so it shall be done, so take notice, start planning, when the store is done start thinking, start betting. Its time to build your wrestler from the ground up and to forge his legacy. So that when your time in OCW is done when you look back you have that unrivaled sense of achievement a sense that you earned what you where given. Pride in your OCW character and a sense that it was a great journey. 2009, OCW, we are coming back motherfuckers, back with the fury of 1000 suns.

I really need to go back into the habit of hitting the news page 1st. instead of just assuming everything is in the D.C. I guess I got used to folks being apathetic. I went and added some more achievements, the rest should be done by the new year. Also in the coming weeks there will be new store icons. And current store items will be updated. We are adding a branching system to make the storefront much more attractive in addition to adding branching ways via REWARDS, Achievements etc. In which wrestlers can earn goodies.

Why do you say I'm dead? Because silent Seth Irving put you in a box and took your finisher. Am I still the bastard child of OCW? I wasn't under the impression that you where. on this crap perk situation. I wound up getting some perks that it almost seems inevitable to get. Don't follow. How is this going to be handled after the stat patch comes out. Are we not going to use perks at all? The idea on the patch is that we will be able to tailor our CAWS to our needs stat wise. It remains to be seen if we can edit the actual abilities. In the event that we cannot thats ok because EVERYONE should have a rank 34 Copy of there CAW waiting to be edited, you can then take that CAW and shoot for the perks you need. It wouldnt be a bad thing seeing how some people over use the springboard perk. I dont see healing being a issue because your only one strike away from red. This is not a question but rather an opinion. Would you consider putting regulations on how many times someone can execute their perks? If the need arises to put some of the perks under scrutiny so be it. We are here to have fun and be fair. If some douchenozzle wants to lol spam Springboards or Fan Favorite it will be dealt with. Although I remember a few weeks ago you said OCW was putting the noose on to tight.....irony! How much pull will the ladder system have via win loss, or will it strictly be used for booking? If used for booking wouldn't you think that using a Round Robin type chart would be best on picking opponents? The effects of the ladder have yet to be seen, while OCWFED wants competition we dont want shady ethics and FPR and edit happy players to overtake the overall spirit of OCW in an effort to pad there win column. In addition it may be used to make some better matches or perhaps put people who otherwise would slip through the cracks to be put in contention. We wont know till we get the ladder running 100% if at all.

The way damage scales so far I don't think DR/DR is that far of a stretch. We all like to showcase our matches online for our community but what we don't take into account is match length. So while you might have a 30min match you are so proud of, it might translate to a 30min snoozefest for everyone else. You add that and the fact that some of the sillier members like to DRAG OUT matches for whatever ungodly reason and you have a recipe for boredom. We will monitor this closely in the weeks to come.

Thats good to know. As for sig moves its a toss up with FPR. I will wait for them to give a concrete answer. But I think Orange/Yellow is a good time to hit a sig move. As for ending matches with a sig. It was discussed that those with Resiliency could be pinned off of a sig once a finisher was attempted and failed.

Would depend on the move, im not big on people modding there caws for certain matches all the time. Its sort of similar to a guy who isnt Hardcore switching to Hardcore or in this case hardcoreish moves or object mastery to suit the match. As of right now I am going to play it safe and say wait and see.

As of this moment and its not final, the consensus is to use it when the guy in the ring is Finishable. My idea is for it to be used as a finisher or as a momentum shifter. When FPR gets done with it I will tell you for certain. As of this moment it is however when the guy in the ring is Finishable. If Patrick wants to do weekly betting nothing is stopping him although wouldnt be as high as 10k a week maybe. 2k or 5k, and with the ever shifting way people show up, all bets would still be final. So spend at your own risk.
