I USED DEEEKTATION so if its a little off apologies I can't really type like this anymore Hey hey, everybody. It is Our Hero, and something significant happened in October that I'm not sure if many people were aware of. On October 5, 2004 OCWFED was born. Now using simple website based maps, it has come to my attention that OCWFED is actually 22 years old technically. Now if you want to be hyperbolic, you can think of what OCW, being a little bit older, doing some math (which I am god awful at) originally, what happened was in 1999? Sometime in August or maybe June it's all a bit of a blue. I was a young lad with the good hair and for some reason after playing No Mercy and enjoying it tremendously and then 64 wrestling games shout out VPW OG, I had an idea. Around this time there were lots of multiplayer games usually local MP or Lan Parties if you nasty. But mainly on PC with things like TCP IP based online games like you know, team fortress, Counterstrike and a year or so later Halo on Xbox with PC via Gamespy (what a time predating Xbox Live and pretty much reason why we got Xbox Live). With the advent of online I always wanted a competitive kind of thing like you would have with quake or doom, etc so there was an emulator that I got ahold of and you may know this, if you're an emulator guy, ZSNES. Anyway, long story short, it had online capability via TCP-IP. Essentially, you were just connect to your friend's IP address and it would use the game locally. So in this case, we would do Super Fire Pro Wrestling X. Premium which was pretty much the Greatest Wrestling game on the Super Nintendo (TRUST ME). So it was kind of funny because we made our own little creative fire pro created guys and it was called Online Championship Wrestling (Andranic says it was his idea..IT WASN'T). We were able to fight using SFPWXP and it was silly fun we had mini bs angles although it was not a lot of us like, maybe 3 to 4 of my friends. Fun fact 2 of the people who helped built V1 actually competed minimally in SFPWXP lmao it wasn't a major thing. But there was something there that scratched an itch. It was like kind of a little subgenre hobby we did on and off. So then you fast forward to 2004 or actually just take it back to 2003. And I learned that there was an online Japanese game forgot the name of it, but it was essentially using the what's now the smack down engine back in the day. And again, long story short, I saw this. I'm like, oh, so we can do this online. But I was still hesitant because I didn't think I was smart of savvy enough for something of this magnitude. I wanted a website and complex systems like Payout's for competing and unlockables using your earnings. That being said my friend's said "At least get a domain name" the idea being that no one would take the name if it had a domain name at least. And so we get Smackdown vs. Raw and it has , raw has online capability, and I essentially said I might want to do something with this. Because again, competitive stuff and wrestling, I used to be at a die hard wrestling when I was Jake before Jake was alive. Or actually, he was alive, but he was a polyp. Which is to say that I was deep deep, deep fan of professional wrestling. Whether it be ECW WWF WCW Japan. I didn't have much access to it, but I did have Lucha Libre on Galavision and Telmundo. But still no faith in oneself! So I decided to go into the wild and ran into a very red website named CWPO or something. I was excited because I figured since I'm not good enough to do something like this I can at least be apart of something great. The TLDR was I crafted a char and was super excited to compete I asked about the rules as there was nothing on the site that explained protocol. When I tried to get a legit answer from the owner I was met the polite term is indifference but the actual term is assholery. Undeterred I had my first match I spoke to the dude ahead of time and was like do you know the rules? and he goes"Nah". We had our match and when I say "Quick Play Bullshit" boy howdy. I vaguely remember 2 or 3 glitched moves and for certain one was (Andre Headbutt IFYKYK). Very cheesy match I got tapped out and was disappointed I told the Owner not so much complaining but again asking for some clear rules because the match was pretty much dog shit and wasn't fun. Again he wasn't very kind so I'm like ok let me fight him again. I speak with opponent again and I'm like "Let's try this again and put on a good match I don't care if I win but lets do something cool" he's like "nah" ok bet. Next match I hit him with somewhere between 4 to 7 F5's and sub him. A day later I get chewed out for "Being Cheesy". I will spare the details of my response but what I can recall was "WE NEED RULES" and I'm 85% sure "SMDFTB MF" I said I'm gonna do my own thing and dude was like "And you're going to fail at it". If you are still with me thanks! Let's continue! With a hell of a lot of doubt I started bothering my friends both who knew how to code and one who had Graphic a graphic design major and asked for help. Fast forward the site is up I am recruiting and being clowned on left right and center. Eventually the tide turned but the haters remained now upset that we not only succeeded but thrived (thats a story for another day). I was always enamored with the online aspect of competitive wrestling, and then using that to take your stories to our next level. Because as you know, I'm an MMO. Nerd, at heart, so my dream was always to make like an online MMO kind of thing, and I think we succeeded in that point. But the fact of the matter is between a bunch of real life circumstances. And everything I didn't have a time to stop and smell the roses, if you will. Within this past couple weeks, you know, I won't go into the specifics. But you guys may have known that I went to the ER once or twice, and there's some other stuff that some people know about that happened. Nothing, you know you need to know about. But the long and short of it is, is that in that time. If you go by 1999 OCWFED is about 27 years old. If you go by the domain name we are 22 years old, it can drive, it can go to the war. It can travel the world, it can vote. So we've been here that long! I just wanted to say that at least I think I did one thing, kind of right. I guess providing a place for people to be creative and it's been here for that long. I've done a lot of dumb things and a lot of good things but this one kind of stands the test of time. Maybe from stubbornness, spitefulness or just habit I have no idea to be honest. So I just wanted to express that as it happened again this year. But 22 years is f****** bananas, and I like, how dictations recording me and it put stars f****** fantastic. So. Yeah, that's pretty much it. 22 years to quote the season 16 video by Jake. Allen, the recap, I'm so tired. Anyway we will see you at battlefield, 2026 and 22 years of OCW on October 5th of 2026. We just passed, so I guess in December to 22 year anniversary Jesus.
