Debate with the Devil: PPV Edition Well, I'm waiting for the next chapter of this epic PPV we all call "The Clap", so I figure, why not get started on a mainstay in OCW big events, another episode of Debate with the Devil. Considering that discussion is at an all time high, and this is a VERY beeg event, I figure I might as well put my all into getting the talking a-flowin'. So lets get this bad boy, underway--but forgive me if things are a bit out of order--as I'm writing this as I watch for the first time, which is a unique situation, as I usually write it after watching the show a few times. Spider on Commentary: I thought this was a cool idea. If you aren't involved, get involved. Really the perfect example for unbooked guys to follow. Question: [softball Tier] Is there a job Spider hasn't had in OCW? Since he debuted on Ambition, he's been a competitor, Ambition GM, Riot GM, Colored Comentary… I'm sure he's probably been on the Creative team and a janitor before as well. My Thoughts: N/A Cerberus Promo: Cerberus arrives in style and cuts a promo a little bit later on. Question: [Mid Tier] Cerberus is proving week in and week out that they are a force to be reckoned with--easily dominating the shows with content and matches. In what very well may be the "Year of the Faction", does Cerberus lead the way? My thoughts: I for one, think that Cerberus is the best thing going in OCW right now. The angle is awesome, and rooted in real life peeved-ness. The set up is perfect, under the leadership of Leon these two have found themselves in main event matches. And they've pretty much got their schtick locked down. I'm enjoying what they're doing and looking forward to the continuation of their angle. More on Cerberus when I get to their match. Paul Pugh Hangs out in Bathrooms and Abducts Children: I don't know why we fear DJACK and BAXTER so much when we have a certified creeper holding on to the Hardcore Championship. I'm sure this promo will lead to something, so I'll save the question for later. Rookie Rush: A generally solid match between Chris Moore and Baby Parker. Question: [Easy Tier] Ambition hit a slump a few weeks ago that continued for about three weeks… but under the leadership of their GM, Dick Blood, the rooks are REALLY taking ownership of their brand. Do you believe that with this renewed vigor, Ambition will soon be rivaling Riot? My Thoughts: The current batch of rookies are just what we needed--when the Ambition 2 experiment first began I said "If we get one more Sean Mcgee, it will have been worth the effort." I definitely think we got that and then some, and its only going to get better. Dimsmore Promo: Dimsmore is mad, bro. Question: [Hard Tier] Dimsmore may very well be one of the best guys on the roster (I only pick the baddest asses to leech off of--see Pato). This is a guy who could probably beat Parker for the title if he got a title shot on next week's show. So why then, oh why, is Dimsmore the one in the Low card facing the rookies? My Thoughts: Don't get me wrong, I really like Tobin Frost (who I will speak more on later), but a PPV rookie warm up is really a spot for lower lever guys on the roster. Not going to name names, but Dims ain't one of them. Granted, its also his responsibility to find an angle to get into. Shameless Feud Thread plug! Tobin Frost Promo and Match vs. The Dimsmore: Dimsmore defeats Tobin Frost in a much closer match than expected. Question: [Mid Tier] Tobin Frost has really impressed me in the last few weeks of Ambition. Is he in the upper tiers of Ambition guys at this point? And what is he missing? My thoughts: I think Frost is a star in the rough. He has an interesting character thats a breath of fresh air amongst scumbag faces. He reminds me of Captain America (I'm a comic book mark), he seems like a hard working guy who deeply believes in his morals. It doesn't feel forced like a John Cena, he just seems genuine. Gameplay wise, he took Dimsmore to his limit, which I'm sure no one expected, so I think he might be in the Top 3 over all rooks. That said, there is definitely room for improvement in the look department. Its not bad, but it's just a bit plain to me. It might be time to open up Suda's Workshop for these dedicated guys who are missing a little somethin' somethin'. Rising Sons: Have a hilarious promo with Gabe Seltzer, wrestling match rater! Question: [softball Tier] We finally have a solid Tag Team base, is it time for more tag team action!? My THoughts: Obviously. We need some tag team matches, tag team feuds, and general tag teamery. We have enough now. Obviously there have been a few on Riot as of late, lets keep it up. Bonus Round: That may be Mugen's first 6 star match, but Matsuda has had three, at the Tokyo Dome, with Misawa's corpse in attendance! Parker Promo: SIX LONG YEARS! Question: [Easy Tier] Has parker been a good champion? My thoughts: Of course he has, he is a prime example of what a champion should be--one of the most active guys on the show, and one of the most feared guys on the sticks! Trance and Komodo Rape Baxter: No real question here, just another tag team doing their thing… though Komodo could possibly flake… Rising Sons vs. The Bloodline: Again no real question, just a flakey tag team. K.D. Kills Wesley: Question: [shit Tier] That was fast, huh? My Thoughts: But expected. Random Triple Threat: Question: [Easy Tier] Trance is on a roll! But in no direction. What's up with dat? My Thoughts: Gotta get some direction, m8. Seriously, this is going to be your year, but you gotta find someone good to work with. The Conclusion of Paul Pugh Kidnaps a Child: Paul Pugh's tour is interrupted by a Real Canadian Hero. Question: [Mid Tier] Pugh and Dupree have been butting heads quite a bit lately… In the bathroom, with children, even in the ring. Could this all be leading to something on the way to Wrestlution? My thoughts: FOR ALL THE TITLES! Matsuda vs. ????? Holy shit! Vega! I don't ask questions on my own match, but feel free to discuss. My Thoughts: Villain goes over. Hannibal D Returns: Business just picked up! But will O.G. come back as strong as he left? Will the strong man of the A TEAM lose a step?! My Thoughts: Doubtful. OG is one of those guys along with Dimsmore who are sort of just beasts at this game. He'll be twisting up people like OG Yoga in no time fast. Bombshells, Bombshells, Bombshells! Bombshells continue to push the limits of family television. Question: [Hard Tier] Anna Mosity and Eerie Sunshine are two of the more outspoken bombshells in the division, but business is picking up there too--more and more matches and more and more personalities. Should the Bombshells get their own title? My Thoughts: I always feel that where there is a lack of a goal, there is a lack of creativity. In this case, I feel as though a title will draw more people to the division… however it has to continue to be active first. I like the idea of the TV Title and Bombshell Title being Ambition mainstays. The Match We've All Been Waiting For! We have a new Television Champion! Question: [High Tier] What's his next move? My Thoughts: i remember when they debuted the first Ambition Title… the wrong guy won it and the title no longer exists. In this case, either person in this match would have been a good champion. The next move? Not for me to say… Justin Raze Crashes the Party: Question: [Easy Tier] Is Raze really the next in line? My Thoughts: Not yet. But I guess an angle is an angle. The Match I've been Waiting For! Why the hell aren't Cerberus coming out together?! You want to lose my fanship?! You dicks better win. Cody comes out on top of this cluster f%$&! Question: [softball Tier] Whats next for Cerberus? For Tyro? For Pugh? Why the hell didn't Cody and Sean pull a Hunger Games and beat each other at once?! My Thoughts: The skies the limit! And Cody is a schemer. It's in his nature. The Final Chapter: Question: Dupree comes up short in what will probably be his last shot at the title while Parker is champ. Whats next for the man who's been in the main event of every Pay-per-view for the past year? My Thoughts: I'll never tell! My Reaction to Hollywood losing, Dimsmore being red in his match, Tibby losing, and Spider's Comentary.

I would like to see Tobin in some captain America tights, actually.

Sons vs. Bloods has my sides in orbit. The Bloodline get a jobber entrance, and the Rising Sons come in like New Jack.

I think Frost is carving a place as one of Ambition's top guys. I'd like to see a little more out of his look, but he's doing the right things, for sure.

I like Tobin Frost a lot. I assume booking, does not, however. (Haven't seen the match)

Exactly, then you're basically exiling the Ex-Division on its own little island, which quite frankly would be okay if the Ex Division was thriving right now... which its not. Theres very few people who's MAINs are ex guys, which means the effort level is pretty low amongst them. If, hypothetically, you were to make the Ex its own separate brand, then you would have to make the Ex title of equal value to the World title, so that you can still have an Ex guy that can compete with heavies. (Not just saying that as the current Ex-Champ :P)

I didn't even think of that. If everybody is 85 that does cripple cruisers, because everyone will probably have max speed, but cruisers don't have the luxury of having max strength. Everybody might as well get on og yoga. That and Parker is already invincible, putting him at 90 is like giving him the title forever!
