SENSATIONAL TALKING POINT : LEON's TURN and LOTUSESES

 

 

26% of the way there, Good job so far. Rather than do a review (not my style never my style) I am going to post every so often a talking point. These talking points will be in the form sadly of a Smart mark :( so bare with me.

 

 

As often when putting together a PPV, I get the same feeling of disdain, at how its going to be a car wreck. And every time I post the overall product turns out much better than I had anticipated. I like to find the story in everything I do regarding OCW. In turn I like to peel back the layers and find out the reasoning behind actions. Although more often than not I have a boat load of reasoning but the reality of the thing is (LAWLS I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS COOL LOOKING) But hey shit happens.

 

This event is no different as it by far and away exceeded my expectations. This 1st post will start with The Leon heel turn situation. I was disheartened to say Greatness sullied on Wrestlution, Peronsally if I knew ahead of time I would have said HELL NAWWW. It does have the side effect of

A) A HOF giving a major rub to a bunch of semi un proven (Sorry guys I like you but you only been here a few months) guys.

B) Major heat on a new faction.

 

Any heel faction wants to be a heat magnet, you need it. Most times factions will be booked to look extremely dominant only to be destroyed by the company or 1 uber face or my personal favorite inner deconstruction.

 

By Greatness giving the green light it shows trust that LOTUS has some idea of what they are doing, and in these wacky times I can appreciate that. Now the reason I mention LOTUS more than Leon at the moment is simple. If you look back at the start of Ambition Patolomai and Matsuda fueded. A modern day Tiny Evil Foreigner David vs Samoan very angry Goliath. As the dust settled the two joined forces, the point was Matsuda and Patolomai tried to kill each other before joining forces. The coined phrase now being "EVOLVE or DIE".

 

With the exception of Illuminati whom as a written character I really enjoy his nuances.

- The mask on at all times (the way the mask looks is just fitting and mark worthy)

- The caw look

- The Fez off camera at all times (A man with a fez should not be trifled with)

- He is not that big, in fact its probably the Matsuda Caw a tiny bit bigger with a really sweet attire)

- The secondary brain of LOTUS, he doesn't speak often but when he does its proven he is cunning.

- He instigated the attack on Greatness proving while he is a thinking man he will fall on the sword for LOTUS

 

And now Poe, who will be in another talking point.

 

Leon however went to hell and back with Patolomai. You could say there was respect earned. But the fact that Leon had to kick Pato's head off more than once proved the mean streak. Consider Patolomai as a Predator (not the damn movie predator, although it was a sweet movie). If you kill whats trying to kill you, you just kill it. You don't gain the respect of other predators, because all a predator wants to do is kill you, and eat you to survive.

Leon Evovled and went back to that place that put him at the forefront in 2009, or maybe devolved....

 

The point is Leonheart had one of the best years in 2009, he cemented his Hall of Fame status that year, and pretty much did everything he needed to do. He ended Chris Mania's streak of 187 Days as Champion, and from then he snowballed himself into an amazing career. Then in 2010 it was the polar opposite more or less, Leon had some good strides but could never duplicate the success of 2009. Now myself and plenty of other people threw this in his face (in character of course) well not me im an asshole so I made fun of him on skype as well.

 

Point being we let him know of his failures.

 

And now back to his heel turn. Leon has found that spark again, and in the LOTUS frame of mind to them he has Evolved, he has proven he is a predator, the LOTUS frame of mind is kill or be killed. The law of the jungle. The weak will not inherit shit. I think you will be surprised where LOTUS is going as a faction. I really don't see them jumping everything and everyone with the whole (ITS OUR SHOW NOW) Granted they make take slight turns there with Guchi at the helm. But the CORRRRRRRRRREEEEEE in the NEXUS of LOTUS!!!. Is quite simple Kill, survive, destroy, Darwinism the weak, the frauds, the casuals will be removed. The plague of superior beings will inherit OCW.

In regards to the backstage which people LOVE talking about. I can appreciate that Leon could have given himself and his time to someone else. As it seems LOTUS has a pretty good set of heads on there shoulders. But you also have to remember its 4 rookies, ok 3 rookies and a robot, and an established Poe. So in essence Leon will be guiding 4 people instead of just one. So person per person he is going for bulk.

 

I had more but truth is I just woke up and speaking is easier for me than writing.

 

This is just my first talking point trust me when I say I got plenty more, and a whole week to type!

Just wanted to drop a few thoughts on what I've seen so far of Wrestlution.

 

•First things is the visual appeal of the layout of each page. Classy.

 

•The show opener set the mood. Miami FL. One of the meccas of entertainment was the perfect selection for the epitomy of entertainment that awaited us. The pyro and Scaggs and Poiling really added and nice touch and helped build the electric atmosphere of the night.

 

•Jookie Marley- is really stepping out of the shadow of his past with the darkside and establishing his own fan base and character depth. Like the new look as well jookie. I'm sure Jookie picked up a few fans with his smoke show with Jim Black. You could tell there was alot of thought put into this rp and you can always count on some comic relief from Jookie. Keep the goodness coming.

 

•The Ambition Rookie Rush- I actually enjoyed this match. Sure it was hectic and there was lag ect...but that's the platform we have so be it. I enjoyed watching the young new faces on such a large stage. I feel the match type added to the intrigue aswell. This was the first over the top battle royal that i've seen in OCW and you never knew who was going to go and when. Was not expecting it to come down to Arnaud and Kain and it could have gone either way. Congrats on Arnaud on his #1 contendership for The Ambition. Let's make this title mean something.

 

•DJax's RP- Good quality piece from the pirate. Was nice to get the personal perspective on the the emotional rollercoaster he has been on. I like the fact that the real life matters were entwined in the aspects of this RP. Looks like Jax is poised to right the ship with this piece and recapture what he never truely shouldve lost.

 

•KD RP- I believe were witnessing a evolution of KD's character. This might be my favorite KD RP to date. What I got out of his content that he is trying to get over as a face which is refreshing. The beef with his running mates is still very much alive and seems he sill has his eyes on Smythe once he disposes of Jook.

 

•New Ex-Division champ Judas Hallows. The new champ surprised me in a good way. I think were in for some new fresh things with the ex strap and hopefully the prestige the title deserves is returned. Congrats Judas.

 

•Lucas Dimsmore RP- Lucas is insane manic depressive and probably bi-polar and I love it. The TigerMan gimmick/ angle whatever it is, is classic. Love your work Lucas, always adding another wrinkle to your character.

 

•Tiberius Dupree RP- OCW's "face" of the present and future and fellow rookie slayed another great RP. This piece acomplished everything that is important in final thoughts culminating a nearly 2month boiling fued. The picture is painted of the the odds stacked against the shining light of OCW and now it's a HIAC match thanks to LOTUS's Illuminati.

 

•Dupree vs Matsuda Hell In A Cell-These two have great chemistry and treated us all to a spot fest. Dupree was able to be the first to strike a major blow to LOTUS sending the Guchi man for a flight off the cell, Not to be out done by our Matsuda moment with his trademark kamikaze esque aerials from the cell. Great match from start to finish.

 

That's all I got for now haven't had the chance to finish the card yet, but everyone really stepped up in the clutch and made the 2 week wait more then worth it.

actually after i clocked him with the ring bell he didnt have a signature.

 

Its ok your a MAYHEM HATER along with a few cronies around here.

 

Last year i ended in crushing fashion and this year i only got hit by one finisher at the very end and destroyed the majority of the time.

 

I can defend my title in Multiple situations and singles comp.

 

Smythe you cant even win a match even when its storyline based.

I'm not doing this to be a hater, but I recall a rule going around about PPV Main Event TItle Matches ending off of finishers, and only finishers. It's probably been thrown out though, right?

Rule is valid up until 64min mark. After that its anything goes!!. And yes unfortunately that was a sarcastic reply on my part.

I edited what I could of that match, there was just too much good stuff when it came down to the final two that I couldn't cut anything out.

 

Nonetheless, Mayhem lasted 60 minutes in a hell of a match. Quite an accomplishment if I do say so myself.
