It can be spaced out as needed, the fact is everyone skips. I remember talking to Trevor about it years ago. He would ignore most of the shit and go straight to Main Event.

 

While I'm sure that's certainly still the case for a lot of people. Years ago it was the case that the main event was exciting. You cared about it. You were invested in those characters and really wanted to see what happened. Nate v Guy was important and the outcome really mattered. That would probably be a PPV ME but even the RIOT main events would build those kind of feuds.

 

Now that's not really the case. I generally don't care. It's a number of things that breed this. The quality of story for one thing, in the upper card it's just not there like it used to be. That can be to do with competition. You'd watch Nate v Guy and believe the whole story because you never knew who was going to win but now, generally speaking, you know exactly whois going to win. Despite what people say about the games being easier and making everyone good, we've just stripped a champion because nobody can bloody beat him.

 

Back in the day skipping was due to excitement and people, at least sepaking for myself, would go back and watch the rest later. Now skipping is done in apathy, don't care won't watch.

Regardless of the reason, the fact remains post match promos need to follow a certain format on the weekly shows.

So we're in Canada, tell me why I forgot? Smart eh, the only time we visit Canada and TD forgets. Damn Tibby. Anyway, we open with $, this was a pretty lengthy rp. I liked the catch phrase banter, but i felt it went on a tab bit too long. After a few references you should have moved on. I'm definitely flattered, you infringed me twice. Overall very enjoyable reads.

 

Wha Gwan vs. Seriously

 

Jook your theme music doesn't fit your entrance whatsoever. I thought u were gonna use Nah Mean or maybe Strong Will Continue, like the attire, minus the rainbow wristbands. LSD you need to put EA sports on standby and pick up the sticks. Not like it matters, i lost to someone who hasn't played in 20 days lol. Anyway back to the match. You tried that damn running elbow twice, and botched it both times...thats definitely unlike you. Jook I hate your Santino headbutt, although it does fit you.

 

Huge leg drop spot from Jook, he's putting the boots to you something horrible Luke. You tried to muster up something but Jook was on fire. (THE FIRE!) Jook has been stepping his game up lately, he hits the JKO for the win. One sided, yet i still enjoyed the match. good stuff.

 

Next is me and Chucky exchanging some words. Glad I got my uncoordinated camera man back. He recorded some classic DupreeTV rps on Ambition, that of course none of you probably read. Damn schmeckles!

 

Jim Black pulls a smart move and flees at the site of KD. Nice short but sweet rp. Your bible quotes always hit the spot. It adds a much need boost to your character

 

The ABM vs. The FI

 

KD for some reason your entrance theme disturbs me....in a good way tho. And Cody has possibly the best theme, i swear whenever u come out i get extra hyped. Honestly there wasn't much to this match. I mean i didn't see too many AMAZING spots from either KD or Cody. But KD still kept the pressure on, Cody kept holding on barely. He got some decent reversals in, but having your back against the wall its hard to mount any type of offense. Don't know why you clotheslined Kumar, matter fact i do know why, because hes a shiterus. Love the headbutt and kick in the corner. Black Bomb, Black Rack. They now stand at 1-1.

 

I mentally placed Cody's rp after the match for full effect. And i gotta say i liked the way it came together. His current partner in crime comes out to add drama to an already bleak situation. This is where the match was given to me because i read on my phone. I didn't expect it, especially since it was on the 4th page lol. If this was real tv, it would have fit perfectly, and i guess thats what you were trying to do. very enjoyable, and a devolved Cody Storm?

 

Brandon in front of the new Ex Div title on display, that was about the only thing new about this rp. we already know you took out 3 heavyweights, and your putting the ex div back on top. but then you picked up the intensity describing the different ways your gonna hurt Matsuda. Not too bad, but i hope to see more creativity in the future.

 

Aunt Marie getting some air time of her own, making fun of Jim Black. She obviously forgot she was in Canada as well. Damn Tibby.

 

Fire vs. Elite

Don't really like to talk about my matches, the proof is in the pudding. but all i got to say is i hope my tour of Europe is over soon lol.

 

EHYO it's Guchi Man and Hanna whose chopping bricks. I hope that tramp suffers for putting my DupreeTV in limbo. I guess Guchi is trying to transform her into that asian school girl from Kill Bill. that would be awesome, then Aunt Marie can smash her just like Uma did. Excellent scenery, i felt like i was in fuedal Japan. I kinda feel sorry for Hanna though she doesn't know how lethal Guchi is. nice rp.

 

Sean Sheldrake rp, i believe i told you i don't like him. don't even like his name. and this guy needs to check out a TNA anti bully commercial. Or maybe he still thinks it's Lotus Law. Nonetheless vintage SS, reminding us all that OCW is not PG. Nice descriptive read.

TWACK vs. The 1-2-3 Kick

For Ex-Division Gold

 

I dig Hostile's entrance, especially your theme. Matsuda emerges with another new style, Love the entrance, even tho I thought your other 3 were more spectacular. Oh and i've figured out Suda is also shcitzophrantic. Anyway onto the duel for the prize. Right off the bat you guys take it outside the ring, and what do you know Hostile kicks him six times in 2 seconds. The ladder quickly enters the match. Suda's first move is of course attached to it. Your look may change, even your entrance, but your thirst for foreign objects will never die. you guys muddle back and forth, doing absolutely nothing with the ladder.

 

Hostile tries to decapitate Suda with the chair stomp, but reversing from you both were on point all match. Both of you kicking the shit out of each other is great. The backflip and then the everyday Kick was nice. When you guys do attempt to use the ladder its botch city. you deserved to fall on your face Hostile. Heart Punch.TWACK!

 

Didn't really like the close irish whip to the corner, especially while he had a sig. Suicide dive and your face smashes the ladder, thats what you get Lotus lips. With a few swift kicks Hostile takes control again, branishing a sig he tosses Suda in. And for some reason you instantly got a finisher. A knee and a final kick to the cranium and we have a new Ex-Div Champion in Brandon Hostile. Very good match gentleman, would have liked to see somebody land on the ladder or go thru a table. but it was the best match of the night.

 

You didn't waste any time dropping content as a champion. I understand the purpose of the rp, but you could have saved it for your grand entrance as champ next week on Riot. I appreciate the freebie, I hope you bring glory back to the Ex-Div as you've been claiming for weeks. Congrats Hostile!

 

Final Thoughts

 

This took entirely too long to type up, i think imma come up with a simplier way to do reviews. The music was awesome this week. I want that Nas song Jook played in the start of his match. Cody has good taste as well. the Anime intro music during the Ex match, gave it a nice frantic feel. This was by far the most realistic Riot i've seen yet. All the matches were under 15 min, one finisher to each match. Some solid writing throughout.

 

I would have liked to see an rp from Jook or LSD, their both are gold when the put the effort in. Also what's up with the participants for the tourney, thought there was gonna be something about that. There may not be many stories going on right now, and everything is up in the air. But i'm very impressed with the people who still put the time in to do matches and rps. And ofcourse Jay for putting it all together. Good Job everyone.

I finally figured out why I used to skip matches, music totally takes me out of what ever match I'm trying to watch whether it's an awesome song or a shit song, generally shit songs when viewing OCW matches... Anyway yeah, just something about music that kills the atmosphere... I wanna hear the crowd, hear the hits, hear the slams... it just feels more real. Anyone else have this sorta problem? Oh and muting the video completely kills my interest, even when I can't find an English stream of the Footy I'll happily listen to Spanish commentators cause least you can still hear the crowd.

Me and some of the guys were talking about this a few days ago. It'd be cool to see people do unbias commentary on matches, can be different commentary on every match to make it easier on people doing the commentary, or maybe just have a couple of people volunteer to commentate on the shows and have new people volunteer every week unless there's someone that really wants to do it. Would be interesting, and probably would make people have more of a desire to watch it more.
