Messy desks flank either side of the room as volunteers furiously make phone calls trying to drum up support. The din of dialing phones and sales pitches is suddenly pierced by a shrill scream. ????: A FUCKING WRESTLER?! The camera pans through the desks and into the main office of the headquarters. A middle aged woman is sitting at a desk surrounded by various staffers. ????: EVERYONE OUT! As everyone turns to leave she points out three staffers and motions for them to stay. Once the other staffers have left and closed the door behind them they fearfully oblige as they wait for her to begin. She lets the moment hang for an uncomfortably long time, clearly a master at the art of manipulation. ????: You said you had this all figured out, the path to the first Democratic Governor in South Carolina for the better part of a century. ????: Just pay to get info from the most influential madame on the east coast, pay off some hooker to sneak a camera into a “private meeting”. ????: Blackmail the former governor into suspending his campaign for re-election, then leak the video the media anyways just to make sure we broke the Republicans in this state… ????: And now you tell me that not only is a FUCKING WRESTLER running against me, but that he’s somehow winning in gallup polls. Please explain how this is happening. A nasally college aged man in pastel shorts, a button down and a bowtie speaks up. Staffer: Ummm, well this Ryu guy is pretty popular… he was a pro-wrestler, and unfortunately for us is something of an “honorary” member of the Pepperton family. ????: You make it sound like I should know who these inbred degenerates are, so explain to me why this man is getting national coverage, and why I’ve been forgotten about as a candidate. Staffer: Well, not only is Ryu an internationally acclaimed talent, but the Peppertons are South Carolina royalty. I mean there are people here who will vote for him based solely on that fact without having to hear anything else. ????: Find me any and all dirt on this Matsumoto, I want him FUCKING buried under whatever skeletons you can find on him. ????: I WILL be South Carolina Governor, SANDRA COLINSWORTH has never lost, and I’m not about to start against some Trash Wrestler.
