Jett vs Malu

Is this the Jett split match? The only split here was Jett's Thumb and the R2 button. Jesus wept, throw your damn hands up once in a while, you're facing Nate. Malu comes out of this looking beastly. Jett looks like he has promise, but more than the promise he looks like a large Dennis. If he's gone, then its a shame - but there's categorically no split in this match - after he starts exhibiting the behaviour of someone who's split (walking into the apron etc) you kinda think maybe... until he kicks out. When a match splits, the split guy won't ever kick out. Nice try b. Nate gracious enough to give him a stunt double at the end to sell the beating. Green as goose shit hoot! Rating: *1/4

 

Solid RP, more build up but well written. I hope we get some sort of pay off here!

 

Scrolling text at the bottom was nice for a dialogue video, inventive. Not a fucking clue who was talking to who, but cool.

 

Just as a side note before I go further - Turmoil isn't in Terminal 5 any more surely? Talk about Bush League. I picked Terminal 5 way back when as a tiny Riot arena when OCW were kayfabe out of cash - Turmoil is now an established show, it should be in the same arena's as Riot is...

Devin vs Jackie

Devin you're the Devil - your music doesn't work for you. Your lighting doesn't work for your gimmick. I think your entrance needs more menace, that being said, I like how furious your CAW looks. Intense. Looking at this Manitoba jerk makes me miss CM Puma - he was a way better looking version of JMo under a hood. Lots of kicking on Turmoil in general - someone throw some fuckin hands! I feel like Devin should be more imposing - some of his moves are flippy shit, some are sorta big guy ones, there's a weird disparity i can't get my head around. Just to focus on Devin here, cos i'm not sure what Jackie is - the gimmick needs to be solidified. Mugen taunts all day. WHAT ARE YOU DEVIN! Pretty fuckin even throughout until Jackie hits the afterburners. Decent showing, nothing ground breaking Rating: **1/2

 

OCW has a problem with actual real life crimes here. Shit is like the hood. Murders, petty theft, breaking and entering and now we've got a couple of low card yahoos beating up paying customers. Send for the Big Boss Man. This graphic would be cool if it wasn't so snarky, but it can't be helped.

 

Hey Dennis, good news - Matsuda was never a main champion so you've already surpassed him, which is why this match should open Lution. Rey Mysterio with his bent up knees coming back to fight Finn Balor. Suda broke a thousand weapons, but never drew a dime. I like this little descent into madness. Strange choice for him to fight Malu given that a) Malu has already fought and B) This has happened 188888888 times, but it'll be a good one so whatever.

 

 

Cactus vs Tully

9 minute match! Shit here we go... Cactus' smile creeps me the fuck out. Shit Tully looks like a certified Nelson. This is a good ass look. I'm not privy to who handles him but good work. Nice back and forth so far, quickly descends into Cactus taking the initiative and then the win. All she wrote - nothing spectacular but nice enough. Was a little one sided. Rating: **1/2

 

Confusing propaganda video in which Greek special forces strap go pros to their weapons and flex. This is like an early 2000s rap video but with military personnel.

 

Does everyone in OCW need a female fucking counterpart? First RP of the night where I've not enjoyed the writing. People don't talk like this! Such a strange convo. Serves a purpose. Onward.

 

See... this is how to talk in chracter. Polar opposite of the last one - both sets of dialogue completely different - good RP. Keeps things ticking.

 

I don't know what ACE is but I'm not a big fan of the face mask gimmick. Done to death - BE UNIQUE THANKS. Oh good, red head that can't wrestle - an Eva Marie clone. My favourite part of OCW is when someone directly lifts an idea from WWE. Good job fuck stick. Bush League. Weird "match". Didn't much care for it, but i guess its leading to a throwaway match?

 

 

Tag Match

Pet Peeve is the WWE logo being in entrances. These two chuckle fucks are already on my tits. Nice to see Trance is back on the magic beans. He's grown about 9 feet since the last time I watched him. He's being flung around by this tiny man too, I'd say it was smart to keep Parker on the apron, but there's not really much choice here. I think the targeting nonsense needs to be addressed. Too many times you see someone get a cheap shot in before while the game makes the other dude stare at the dude on the apron. Such a strange tag match. Barely any teamwork happening, they're just tagging in and out without any sort of strategy. Tags aren't about damage folks, they're about managing your reversals as a team. R2 button to reverse folks! That 5 hit combo from the apron was sorta shitty, but reversable so whatever. Somebody put someone away for fuck sake. This match has gone on about 12 minutes too long! Rating: **

 

So instantly we're back in the locker room with some alts. This is what I call "KD Fever". KD fever is where all of your alts exist to work with each other, rather than separately. *sigh*

NEVER SAY DIE CHAOS! Still hate Bill Ding, but he's a hell of a fuckin fighter. TJB makes me feel a bit sad... look how much bigger he is than his Pa. Anyway, I wanna say back and forth but I'd be lying to you. Fighting round the world was fun, but it goes on a little too long for my tastes. Some cool spots, but nothing stupendous. Good solid win, had to be by sub. Rating: ***

 

Cactus getting the URL wrong. This is why Turmoil sucks - can't toe the company line. A new group - lovely... and Oh another dark character. See, this is definitely a case of knowing your environment. This flippy Wyatt shit has been going concurrently for about 3 years in OCW - just with different people doing it - and sometimes even overlapping. Its insanity. Nice use of the Holy Shit chant, but ahhh, its a let down.

Ahh Jimmy. The real underdog... is that the logo I made? Shit you can probably buy that shirt at HAUSOFHOOT.com. Good entrance for Austin. The matches goes about as well as you'd expect. Jimmy does a bit of brawling but gets taken out. Plays the underdog super well - watch it Dennis. Rating: **3/4

 

End scene is amazingly confusing. So so confusing. So B17 is evil but then Wrex is here, and he's got a stick, but then Austin is challenging B17 to come to the ring but then Parker Stevens arrives to save Jimmy, and then these guys all slap hands and then Sid Harrison(?) powerbombs B17? Cool. If you can follow all the chaos there you're a better man than me. The overarching theme looked like it was gonna set something big up until... Oh yeah. Anyway

Dennis, your intro video is nonsense and a huge self suck off moment - BE BETTER YOU'RE NOT LEON. Rest of the entrance is cool. Malu is kinda boring to me, not sure why, but he is. Its the same thing as the previously mentioned "dark" character. We've always got the same Samoan in residence in OCW. This is the match you kinda wanna see. Malu racing into an early lead and dennis having to dive deep to get himself back into shit. Its a good match, AND HOLY SHIT DENNIS HIT THE MOONSAULT REVERSE DDT. Never seen that in all the times i've faced him. This match has a certain sense of "you jump first" to it. Dennis finally hitting a finisher makes me feel like he's got this shit in the bag for some reason. Couple of mis cues and now they've both got no reversals. Couple of botches again, letting each other into the match with mistakes. Dennis handling Malu's reversals by using his easy to reverse moves as almost jabs. Solid work. Very good match. The only thing that I didn't enjoy (and it happens a lot) is that the match goes way too long because people wanna win off a finisher... you don't have to win off a finisher. In fact, the match comes out better if you don't keep letting your opponent up. Anyway. Rating: ****

The Pugh comment about sisters was spot on and hilarious. I thought this was a really really good show with lots of good matches. That tag match and HC match were really great. I left my comments on the show, but the Dennis/Malu match was a classic, just on the wrong show. I think this is a show to be proud of. Really great job.
