Bloom Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Holy shit that Dillinger Segment, was bonkers. Probably one of the best produced segments I have seen in a hot minute! 3 Welcome to OCW, keep tough skin, speak your mind, and most of all have fun.-Betterness "I'm going to be brutally honest here guys... all we really need for a good Riot is a few RP's from Our Hero himself... he's an awesome writer!!!" - Smythe CCWJustinTime: just funny how the shit i do goes un appreciative [10-01, 00:19] Jookie Marley: fuck u nigga [09-01, 23:50] Mr.Bentley: uploadafraud.com [09-01, 23:45] Jookie Marley: what website do we use 2 upload now? "Summercide was 2 white girls away from being a cook out" - Cyberbully 2099 " makes me laugh how its gone from all ambition era holding the titles, to 3 guys from 07 holding the main titles..haha welcome to the 'Pensioner Era' - Parker "This is all part of my plan to equalize the playing field until we have a roster of people I can actually BEAT" - Bobby Digital
Quartz Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Hey, hey, hey. It's RIOT 514. - Valk cutting another face promo after her win over Dawson last week. Gets me excited for the ME and because I already know how the show ends, it makes this promo even more worthwhile. - Glad there are still some rookies RPing here. This big brooding fucker uses a cell phone? Who does he text? I have many questions. Someone offering him some kind of proposition? Good cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing what Telos is putting together. Match: Telos vs Braddock Okay, first and foremost, I am VERY disappointed that we're going yet another show without a Braddock RP. Just participating in matches does nothing to help me get to know the character more. So far I just know he's a Foley-esque big guy with Spider's moves. I like the entrance though. The match itself had a lot of eh moments too. Braddock doesn't know how to bump and seems uncomfortable with it, so the match drug on way too long. A hover or 2 from Telos as well, but these are two things that can be fixed with time. FPR is mostly good outside of the running away from Telos. It's not moonwalking - he's literally turning and running away. Only happened 1 or 2 times but it's his 2nd match so it is what it is. Hopefully he (and other rookies) are watching shoes/reading reviews so they can get better at stuff like that. Big win for Telos in a comp sense, even against a rookie, Telos needed a big win to get him some tough-guy heat. Dropping this one would have been a disaster. - Uncrowned also getting in there with rookie writing. Wasn't expecting it to be this barren in terms of rookie content, so it's awesome to see people participating. I don't know if the italics were meant to cover the whole RP, but it just seemed a bit out of place. Other than that, the content was good and I enjoy face RPs with a little banter because of all the heels we have. - TTT4Lyfe - Even though it's short, the KD RP still adds life to the match so it doesn't feel like Doc Green is facing a personality-less CAW. Match: Doc Green vs Coolidge First of all, I love Uncrowned's theme. It's so damn catchy... Now the match... Holy running moves, batman. On first watch, I swore like 75% of every reset, a running move was attempted. I went back and counted and TWENTY running moves were attempted by both superstars combined. If you take out corner and ground spots, it's still 17, most of which were done by Doc Green. It was a little exhausting to watch, even though it was short, just a lot of rushing. On a positive note, it WAS a nice succinct match that neither guy let drag on too long. Good FPR and not a BAD match to watch, just something I noticed. Coolidge's moveset it cool too. I like all the wear down submissions. Wish I got to see some of his signature/finishers, but I pop at a Doc fin, so I dig it. - Like I said last week, I'm all here for this potential AWOL angle. Shep as a singular voice and not just a part of AWOL is the most intriguing part to me. - TTT4Lyfe Match: Hijo de Mistico vs Ricky Ragnarath Some pretty good spots in the match, very solid. I don't remember any moments that I said "ew" at. Competitive, even though Mistico had the lead the whole time. My favorite spot was the back-to-back Liontamer from each guy. Told a good story. Fuck Mistico, though. I wanted Ricky to pull that one out. - This was by far the funniest P3 segment so far and this is the point in the show where the RPs really start to pick up. The one on Anny was okay, the one last week was pretty funny, but I actually laughed out loud several times during this one. Maybe the building imagery of the last 3 helped, but I'm going to be looking forward to them each week now... and only the RPs. You guys should stick to writing and fighting people that aren't me. Leave me alone. - Was waiting to see who'd make the first TV show move between Moon Man and Kass and it looks like Kass is throwing down the gauntlet. Interested to see how Nomad responds and he has so much opportunity before or after his match with TTT member Rust Cohle next week. Is he going to be the one to finally drop Kassidy as champ? - #NoLazy2K19, Cobra RPing back to back weeks, but this one was way higher quality than his one last week to me. Building the 'gamer' character while being very funny at the same time. Also, Poling's "Cobra should be a 54" killed me. - TTT4Lyfe Match: Kassidy Hayes vs Shep I guess Nate is fired up at the start of the season and is ready to... Wait, does that say 26 fucking minutes?! Even at 2x speed this one felt like a main event Ironman match! No gimmicky let ups or weird stuff either. It was competitive the entire time, and after Shep kicks out of like 4 big time moves + the jumping Turn, I knew it was anyones game. I actually thought Kass was about to lose in this one. That 3 minute stretch of both guys kicking the ever living shit out of each other on the outside of the ring was moment of the match for me. Match of the night, hands down. It came down to a final reset showdown in the ring and either guy could have won it. Worth the watch (but maybe put it on 2x speed anyways.) Win or lose, this positions Shep as a real competitor and will go a long way in the AWOL storyline. - I can't really do justice to a Bobby Minio segment. This is the 2nd week in a row I'm just in awe. The way Minio combines pure entertaining writing with visualization and putting you in the RP with him is unmatched. This is also the first time (that I can remember) that someone has done such a great job giving Stacy Clark a personality instead of portraying her as a zombie NPC reporter. Read the damn show, my review sucks. - TTT4LYFE. Big win for Rust Cohle here against Poogen. Should help him build momentum going into his match with Moon Man. - Working with Cort is always a pleasure and painless as can be, but I didn't really get the full effect of how well we did with this until I watched it in full motion. I did all the camera/video work, but Cort's mic skills were the inspiration behind it. My hats off to him. Cort has transitioned (in my head) from this midling shit talking to one of my favorite characters. He is my 2nd favorite face on the roster currently. (nobody fuckin' with Valk.) I think this will go a long way in both hating Dillinger (if you don't already) as well as being on Cort's side. - Brilliant RP from H2O. That comparison segment on the tron was perfectly rendered in my mind, had no trouble at all being in the crowd as he cut TTT down (or tried... let's not get out of hand here.). It's a great move after being squashed by Quartz last week to get back on the map! No, but seriously, super fun RP in a long line of them to end the show. Match: Valk vs Bertha vs Heather In terms of telling a story with your in-ring action, these 3 did a phenomenal job. Valk as a calculating strategist, Bertha as a scary fucking brute, and Heather as a no-fucks-given possessed Kastian. All done well. Heather especially, going right after Bertha and showing she will not back down to even the scariest of opponents. There was about a 2 minute stretch where Heather turned all her attention to Bertha in order to cut her down, no hesitation, which fits the Kass-poisoned character. Best spot hands down was already clipped by Jay, Valk moonsaulting OVER a ducking Bertha onto Heather, then popping up and taking down Bertha. Close 2nd was that crazy pin breakup by frantic Heather. I popped out of my chair when Angel's Serenity hit and I thought that was is. Bummer that Valk lost, but great match! - Cort and Shep making up is nice, but I still have my eyes on this angle. Whether they remain together as a team or not, Shep's newfound individuality and Cort's new less fan-friendly persona change the dynamic overall. Still could go in a lot of directions! - THIS is how you end a show! I hope I was not alone when I found myself chanting along with the crowd at the end. You can just picture it in your mind how that whole final sequence goes down. The crowd brawl, maybe a little tougher, but the OCW universe in the ring with Valk and all of them throwing their hands up "Valk! Valk! Valk!" Just a great moment to end a great show, especially the 2nd half. 10 President and leading member of the Paul Pugh Fan Club. We love KidEgo "Choose Tmust" - Maxx Edwards
Kassidy Hayes Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Show started hot with the women and ended hot with the women, holy fuck telos vs brad, starts out with big man moves boot to the face. All is goin well till telos hovers him with that dr teeth, man just got up right and control and here i come ducking in. Nice exchange getting out of the corner and big man throw. both men give up follow up damage on a first kd to taunt, Brad been down revs and damage this whole match; clear to orange. Oof immovable on the telos on the big boot but just gets Khallased (should really move this to the sig and drop spider or at least get rid of this as its the same move as ur sig and you are doing it as a reg move, like i told you after our match). Another 1 kd moment and taunt reset by brad, missing a opp to do damage. OOF, hits the mid move pins and resets, big miss opp for damage, dem early unsure of fpr moments, itll come with time big man. Brads been forgetting the most important part of bump resets, the bump to wake them up haha. Telos most used of his moveset more matching of a little guy, dr teeth, kick knee ddt, running shin kick. Not a bad match just a bit long for the reasons pointed out. pick up no bump, taunting and giving up damage on single knockdowns and off the major. Brad came back and made telos work for sure. why is this promo all in Italic Jesus, chill with the rushing start doc lol, pays for it with a top rope maneuver. even star with nice back and forth and doc misses a run into a uppercut and cool might be getting that range down. Watch the Dropkick! Doc intelligently took a few moves not to waste that stock that was almost ready. Sig to Sig spot was nice and I wasn't sure if the reset would come clean but it does so nice job doc and comes in with the hurri and now has the damage advantage. few times i seen a roll out and doc was like nah b, not so fast, leading to a fun exchange outside which if doc coulda just got the lat reversal he'd been in control but he doesn't attempt and is now up 2 revs to none but cool can buy his time if he wants. reved to close to the ropes and did a roll out or you rolled out either way, cool doesn't give you a chance to get in and take advantage of your rev, tricky spot. Cool now up 2 revs to none, keeps targeting the arms and it isn't doing much, just 3 way splitting your damage. Instead of having doc darker shades you just have him yellow everywhere, some fine tuning on the moveset is needed for cool. Finally got doc orange but doc again takes the move, pops rev+ and lets the second one finish building. Cool is red and doc just goes for it, fuck you having 2 revs and connects. gg 9
Justin Jehst Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 RUDO’s Top Ten RIOT Reactions: 1) Telos over here lookin’ like Shazam an’ shit; I dig the attire. Braddock put up a fight but still has the Khallas in the moveset which needs to go; need to hespect de Spider. The win for Telos gets his momentum spinning back the right way. 2) Antonio; there is no such thing as ‘posh slides’. Even if they have a Gucci logo on them, they still look like prison shower shoes. Get this man some wrasslin’ boots! I like how you guys played off them in the RP it was quite funny. 3) Holy shit, new Ryu gimmick? A REAL OSAKA GANGSTER! Fuckin’ gold. 4) As B Comm was on Turmoil last week, TTT have shown up in full force on this show with multiple RP’s and angles with everyone involved. That Rust match was hilarious and I like the initiative of getting something like a squash match in to get yourself over in a cowardly heelish way. 5) Ricky vs. Mistico was super competitive, was fun to watch and was a pretty short match. Told a good story of two of Turmoil’s high flyers trying to one up each other with their acrobatic skills, I enjoyed it. Props to booking on that one too. 6) P3 back at it with some WEIRD FUCKEN BIZARRE shit and I’m sittin’ here like “these dudes are crazy; nobody wants to fight crazy”. P3 vs. CQC anyone? 7) Kass vs. Shep was epic. It was a great match to aid in the AWOL story too as it showed what Shep was capable of on his own now that Cort has the Pride Championship. Shep was damn close to winning too, that’s what you want in a match, great job guys. 8) What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Minio’s writing; it’s fuckin brilliant. It always draws you in and his character work is amazing. Always have time for Bobby’s wall of texts, no complaints here. WORDS ARE NOT HARD PPL! 9) AC’s promo was funny, I enjoyed that. Always good to see people not being too serious with themselves and able to take the piss outta their character every now and then. 10) I thought it was great that Valk and Heather used their Main Event spot for the night to push a push a big angle to close the show. It just felt like it fit as a show closing scene, it was epic and definitely got the heat on Heather as well as imagery of a sea of fans behind Valk. Great stuff. RPOTN: I think it has to be Bobby’s, just too well written not to be. MOTN: Shep vs. Kass for sure. Even with the match length it was, as Our Hero put it, a PPV worthy match. Great pacing, good use of the ring area, and just a fierce competitive brawl. 9 My image don't load no mo so fuck it.
Tiberius Dupree Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Man can you guys write, the amount of solid rp work on every page makes my Betterness tingle. AC and Kass, two guys that aren't known for their strong writing have come a VERY long way and its awesome to see. Even simple nuggets like the Telos rp, still nothing from Braddock, sed. Solid haus match tho. Not only is he Nonads, hes also no show. Even more sed. Hoots always keep perfect count of days, hours, minutes and seconds with astounding accuracy, 25/8/366 FACS! Shep v Kass was too long, but it was good to see the champ have to remain on his toes to secure a win, no cake walk here. The way Val, Bertha & Heather built the ME and then delivered is exactly why they deserved the spot and didn't disappoint. The Heather, Val feud is one of the hottest going right now. TTT all over the shoe like a solid faction should be. The Purple People Eater strikes again, this time against 'Murika, this should be considered an act of terrorism. Double D is the man with the scam, I mean plan! If the H20 experiment is over, then why is he still here delivering as he always delivered? It's never been a sprint, always a marathon, and week in and week out he proves it. For once I can honestly say the heel/face ratio is pretty even on RIOT, makes for an overall more balanced shoe. Speaking of shoes, 1/2 UNCLEANED, I bet the sole of Ez E's feet are blacker than the neck of Coolidge. FACS! Tag Team & Women's divisions are the hottest right now IMO. But everyone and I mean everyone is doing their thing, no wonder Jay has been going non-stop lately to keep you guys happy. Amazano. 10 "You either die a hero or live long enough to become Nate Ortiz" - Drago Cesar "Let me make myself clear: you work for me. If I tell you to fight Blaine, you fight Blaine. Hell, if I tell you to fight a lion, you WILL fight a lion and still thank me afterwards for giving you a job." - Mr. Sensation
Cort Marshall Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Call me Canada post cause I'm late and my package is vaguely damp! - Start with a Valk/Heather/Bertha segment, which is pretty good but a bit confusing. 1, Heather’s voice is said to be on the intercom but then they’re face to face, and the match apparently starts as the first RP but then it’s the main event? Do they stand there the whole 2 hrs? - Telos does not like to get Billy Idol Crank Called. But who’s calling him? They mentioned something about religion… is the absolute rookie unit gonna get drafted into sackianity? - Tony Atlas’s favorite segment as Uncrowned discuss whether Everett’s decision to go shoeless is a good plan or a bad plan. It’s certainly unique and helps him stand out, at least. Very good white meat babyface stuff here, as they wish they could have saved their opponent from his beatdown by EL SHADOWMAN. Dunno why it’s in italics but it’s good regardless. - Foreign words in scrabble is cheating, you fucking pourquoi. - Good bantz between TTT members - Did P3 just kill someone on TV? Is that a limo I hear exploding? - Kass giving Nomad a good verbal drubbing, but he better be careful. If movies and tv have taught me anything, bikers are either kindly gay men or hyper violent and insane. Or, they’re Nick Cage. You don’t wanna get your ass beat by Nick Cage, do you? - Self deprecation by Cobra, quite funny. Turns out he wasn’t BSing about no flake 2019! Also been doing good in matches, so we’ll see how it goes for him. - Minio does such a great job toeing the line between lovable shit-talking face and annoying, sleazy bro twat. You end up liking him despite yourself. This is how you keep relevant regardless of W/L; act like you’re the center of the universe and prove it to an extent. - Great promo from Rust, selling how they beat… me… up. But also how I won a title, so eat it, fronchie! The fans love me! I like the usage of french in promos, everyone hates the french by default apparently, at least according to wrestling. They also beat up another impostor. God, I wonder what impostor Cort would look like. Love that they’re all over the show, very effective heels and making them look like a big deal. Shame the tag division was so barren when we were actually feuding. - Like Quartz said, he did all the video stuff, I just told him the idea and he did it in like a day. Good shit, glad everyone liked it. - H2O living out his dream as Bret El Hitmang Hart, placing his glasses on a child and cheating on his wife. I wonder when H2O will start calling all-time greats 4/10 on podcasts. - Iconic ending segment, timeline logic of the beginning excepted. The fans have had enough of this bullshit and go full WCW on ‘em! The people’s not quite champ! 6
