Justin Jehst Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 FYI guys, the Capo beat-down was supposed to be after my arena RP, just for context. My image don't load no mo so fuck it.
Valkyrie Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 English is my second language, I apologize for the grammar mistakes I will inevitably make. Also, I won't review the matches since I'm not competent enough in that aspect. Tayy and Benji open the show. Short and sweet, straight to the point. Not much to say about this promo, they were trying to sell us the match and they did. I like both attires, especially Benji's which is the perfect example of less is Moore ( Moore = more get it? aahahaha) Empress Belle RP: Starts off with a spilled coffee, it may escalate to a knife fight on top of the Empire State Building, you never know in OCW. Jokes aside, it's awesome to see new faces joining the fed and immediately picking things up as if they have been here for a while. Then again, Empress is Mugen and Belle is Quartz's alt so this doesn't suprise me. JK, looking forward to the Empress in ring debut though, for now her RP content was honestly awesome and intriguing. And I don't agree with the comments regarding the similarities with Asuka, I feel like taking inspiration from other character can help you with your content if done properly. Belle's FPR is freaking perfect for a rookie, big thanks to Ashley for the countless dms they had. I'm biased about Ashley since we've been doing things together for a while now. All I can say is that she's a great handler to work with (for now. Don't make me regret saying this). Pro tip: It's Stacy Clark, not Clarkson. No big deal though. Elsa interacting with some Hippy blabbing about Hippy things. I swear this Herbalist Valkyrie is trying to act adorable but she looks like a pig... ugh who cares anyways? Just wait until they book us against each other so I can bury you next to your beloved seeds (Sorry, this part of the review was written by Alyssa Winters) Props to Sparks for roleplaying even though he lost the match he was booked to compete in. Not many people do that, let alone a rookie. Now please be consistent. The caw looks very good. A question though: where was Hendrix? Bournistico roleplaying consistently is a good thing, definitely an improvement from last season. I feel the next step should be giving each character some sort of gimmick, which is something Mistico was doing great last season with those promo cut in Mexican. I get it that the line between handlers and CAWs is often blurred in OCW, but it takes very little effort to do that extra step especially considering all the Ws you are racking up on the sticks. Mistico could go back to that RP format while Bourne could find some sort of catchphrase to go along with it. Bray! Mentor vs student. A dms we have seen many times but now it's as real as it gets. The RP was funny because of the backstory between the handlers, they are actually sort of mentor and student (B17 is the mentor of half of Turmoil to be fair). The match was very good too, unexpected ending! Now be consistent with your RPs and make Turmoil Anime again Corn Ricketts: if we can expect the same quality you are putting in Code, then only good things can come from this alt, I'm sure. I can't really tell the alignment from this segment, he can easily work as a comedy heel or a sympathetic face. Looking forward to seeing him in action. Book our alts too! Flojo and Kassidy in the same room? Is this a cross over fanfic? Oh wait it's the other Cassidy! Counter Culture Cassidy! Happy to see Flojo roleplaying every week and I'm excited to see what she has planned for this season. Having something planned helps you both content wise and motivation wise, it makes everything easier and I'm glad you have a direction you are comfortable with. Pughfan95 is probably Quartz, am I right Cort? Damn you sure enjoy writing. Your RPs feel like wrestling 101, very accurate and "realistic" if that makes any sense. As if it's something I'm expecting to see in a standard Raw or Smackdown episode. The interaction with the fans was neat, we kinda used the same idea but that happened last week too when everybody did post match attacks. I know who to cheer for at Clash, so if that was your goal you nailed it perfectly I guess. Just try not to burn out! 2+ rps per show (and very long as well) twice a week take their toll! RP wise, I like how you seamlessly switch between serious stuff (Your story with Shepard is basically a blood feud at this point) to comedy stuff which still fits Cort Marshall in more than one way. Dragana's RP went a bit unnoticed, personally I think it was the best on the show as it tried to show a different aspect of her (and her past?). The whole "freak of nature" theme going with Blaine is simple but it has a lot of potential if done properly as you two as showing us. RP of the night if you ask me Can't say much about Jehst and Capo, quality content as usual. But! and it's a BIG but! I want to see Hollywood Money back. Please consider it once this angle is done. C Community video: Damn the voice acting was on point! Very well edited too, despite the game not giving us the tools to make proper cutscenes out of it. Invictus is for life, even tough Austin kinda killed me 6 months ago. But it was all in good fun! That's what blood brothers do... they put each other in permanent coma. RIGHT? Alyssa Winters is an experiment. I'm not sure if it's going to be long term or not. I wanted to try the dark side of roleplaying without turning Valkyrie heel (NEVER EVER). I'm enjoying it for now, mostly because she gave me the chance to work with Quartz which is something we planned to do long ago but our schedule got mixed up a little. We'll see where this goes. It's funny how the Lightheavyweight storyline is done via individual RPs rather than collabs. I bet it's fun from a handler prespective not knowing what the other is going to say and having to wait until the next show to find out. I laughed at Drago making fun of TLBS's English, since Drago's is very good but he makes mistakes on purpose because it fits his gimmick, whereas TLBS sometimes messes up without noticing (as I do) Not really a roleplay per se, but the whole world title feud is now being told via cutscenes which is fresh and definitely takes some extra effort from the handlers. Wrex is the right person to carry the torch in my opinion. Pretty sure I've covered everything, if I forgot something let me know 11 .
B-17 Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Dragana's RP went a bit unnoticed, personally I think it was the best on the show as it tried to show a different aspect of her (and her past?). The whole "freak of nature" theme going with Blaine is simple but it has a lot of potential if done properly as you two as showing us. RP of the night if you ask me You're right it does seem unnoticed and I just want to point out that we are seeing character development from someone who in the past 4 months had very little besides a backstory that we thought was already established. I was very excited to see an emotional response (while confusing) from a character who doesn't easily show emotions. 3 "Amatuer cheat hunter, Resident OCWFED historian, Lover of spreadsheets, data and HOI, MASTER OF THE GOKART" *I DONT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE MY PROFILE!*

I'd also like to see a story with the belt. However I understand why we don't have that. But one day the right challenge will come along and hopefully then we will see fireworks. 1 "Amatuer cheat hunter, Resident OCWFED historian, Lover of spreadsheets, data and HOI, MASTER OF THE GOKART" *I DONT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE MY PROFILE!*
B-17 Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Wrex is indeed ready. Move out the way Fat Owl God. Also, thanks about the Voice rp. I actually quite enjoy them and I think they sound solid (I need Dawn to leave the house 9ne day so i can ham it up once) but as for the whole Lee and Bingo being allies thing. I agree, but things did not unfold the way he or I planned. If it had this is where we would have been eventually always. That story needed some sort of resolution and due to where things unfolded, we didn't get it. That's why I did voice here, so everyone can hear that Lee and Bingo are back on the same page. 1 "Amatuer cheat hunter, Resident OCWFED historian, Lover of spreadsheets, data and HOI, MASTER OF THE GOKART" *I DONT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE MY PROFILE!*
Justin Jehst Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 RUDO's TOP TEN TURMOIL TAKEAWAY's 1) Opening RP was “we’re fighting, let’s write” 101 Face/Heel interaction. You’re fighting someone on a card who’s not involved in your feud? Do this. Find one thing one character does/is/has/ that pisses the other one off, have a confrontation, fight. This was a good little character development segment too and I’m glad I’m seeing Benji’s character on a more regular basis. An their match showed the world that Benji is not to be taken lightly on the sticks either. 2) Again we have rookies RPing and getting involved in feuds with each other, and they feel fresh and interesting so far. Belle vs. Empress is looking to heat up in the coming weeks. I honestly think “SO SORRY” could go on Empress’ first merch run of t-shirts. 3) It’s good to see the Women’s division diversity on Turmoil and having all comers take on Dragana in non-title matches has been fun even just to gauge the overall skill-pool on Turmoil. And while Ashley only got her to single red it’s a good start. Anyone who has played against the champ knows how much of a boss-battle it is. And with the Terra/Alyssa heating up as well the division as a whole looks extremely healthy. 4) Even though Ashley/Valk have a match at The Clash I can’t see that being the end of their feud. I feel like it will either end there or escalate into something much more intense but nothing in between those two extremes. I can’t say I wouldn’t watch another month of this feud turn into something truly nasty and gripping from a watchers point of view. 5) Corn Ricketts seems to be filling a gap left by JackMo in the hillbilly category and I hope Kramer keeps developing this character as I’ve seen the CAW on the CC and he looks hilarious but also like he would squish you with a Vader Bomb. Nice little introductory RP in any case, displaying his personality in no uncertain terms. 6) Code’s feud with B-17 has done nothing but good things for him, and backing up that rub with good stick-work and major skill upgrade in this season has me seeing Code elevate himself into the ME scene on Turmoil, at least I feel he’s on the cusp. New look, his own stable, what else can he bring to the table? 7) More classic wrestling story-telling from the Cort/Shepard feud. Reminds me of late 90’s/early 2000’s WWE angles that guys like Stone Cold etc would pull on Vince, etc, with all the car trashing, etc. The letter reading RP was funny as fuck and I lol’d a couple times. I hope he gets either a rematch against Shep for the title at the next PPV or if Shep loses to Bobby, give em another grudge match together. 8) Bournistico fixated on titles; welcome to Thirstmoil everyone! I still need more personality other than “yeah, we’re gonna win cos we’re the best!”, unless that’s their gimmick? Cocky youngin’s? Anyway, Aries dropping to Mistico gives me even more reason to tune into the match at Clash so I can see them and Code get their comeuppance at the hands of AAB-17. 9) Bray vs. B-17 was a great match with a great story behind it in the B-Community angle. The action looked like some of it was pre-arranged but if that is not the case then perhaps the numerous DM’s these guys have had has just made their chemistry in the ring amazingly fluid. Bray coming out on top also propels him into the ME picture, which is only a good thing for Turmoil as the top of the card is relatively thin. The ending sequence of this match must’ve taken a lot of work to put together with all the cut scenes etc. Well done for putting this all together all of you involved, it’s one of my favourite combo angles going into the PPV. 10) Main Event was a swerve I wasn’t prepared for and with Jay Fury taking out the champ with the help of Scumciety it leaves that Clash title match all up in the air as to who will come out on top. Either way, as said earlier, the ME scene is beginning to pick up and either of these guys could have a good program with the others. This is actually one of the matches I’m most looking forward to as it has the potential to shift the entire landscape of the blue brand. Special Mention: Drago’s RP was fuckin hilarious with the horses. 10 My image don't load no mo so fuck it.
