Stacy Clark Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 DAMIAN ALEXANDER: Sorry for the wait, but I was having issues with Firefox. For some reason, the RIOT show pages kept freezing up on me so I had to watch it in IE, which was annoying, but fairly painless. RIOT 1/17/2008 http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6540/lotrriot11708nq9.png HIGH SCORE LORD: Parker Stevens (412) - As I mentioned before, Parker Stevens is a consistently high scorer. The gets 400+ points per match and at this rate, could easily become this month's Lord of the Ring, also etching his name in the history books as the first Lord of Lords... which isn't nearly as catchy as King of Kings, but you get the picture. His only threats at this point are RD Money, Nate Ortiz, AJ Phoenix and Nathan Gaines. These superstars have only had one match so far, compared to Stevens' 4, so it's hard to say how things will turn out. Perhaps week 3 will give us the answers we are looking for. Closest Match: Anthony Martin vs. Blade - Although most of the matches on this episode of RIOT were fairly close (with most matches staying within a 30 point difference before pinfall) this particular match was a dead heat. A true roller coaster ride of ridiculous rebounds and turnarounds. Biggest Gap: Parker Stevens vs. Robert Fearo - This match was actually fairly close at many points, but once Parker went under the ring for weapons of mass destruction (no, not Smythe), the tides would turn in his favor. You could call Stevens the Sensei of Steel... the Barbarian of Barbwire... the Sultan of the Sledge. Some may say that I'm putting Parker over and playing favorites, but I'm just going by what I see each week. Stevens is simply one of the top guys to beat at this point. Sure, it garners good attention, but it also brings attention that he might not want from the industries top dogs. Of course, it could also have the opposite effect. No matter what belt it is, if the man holding said belt has a reputation for being unbeatable, some might avoid such a confrontation in order to save face. It's easier to say you can beat someone, than actually step up and try. Which one will you choose? *Whispers* Go for the glory. Honorable Mention: CJ Hoppus - "The Underdog" stays true to his name with an impressive battle against Guy Fausto, who many will agree is a difficult dork to defeat. Hell, Guy was able to step back to 2007 against Poison and managed to stand toe-to-toe with him throughout the match. None the less, Hoppus went from scoring 122 points against Sean Strider last week, to just barely losing to Guy Fausto at 254 points. That's an impressive improvement. The one thing I've noticed about CJ, is that he injures easily. I tried to check his stats, but they appear to be off, as he has two stats at 8 and two at 6.5. I'm not sure if that due to some kind of Cruiserweight stip or if he just hasn't updated his stats. It also says he's a Light-Heavy, so it's hard to explain why he appears to change colors so easily. What ever the reason may be, it may hurt him in the long run. If his matches don't last as long as the average wrestler, then he will have trouble breaking the 300 marker. Will the Underdog continue to find a way to raise his ranking, or will he remain in the bottom 200 range?
Parker Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Not to point it out but Smythe is the only winner on there who actually had less points than his opponent,so there's your first record right there :) The Sensei of Steel...i like that..lol...this is great, i'm actually wrestling better than i thought i would. i'm quite surprised that i'm consistently breaking the 400 mark. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5774/sig2uq.jpg 2 x Hardcore Champion (Longest defending OCW champ,19 defences) 1 x NA Champion 1 x Pride Champion 1 x TV Champion 2 x OCW World Heavyweight Champion F.I Winner 2012 MOTN vs Leonheart @ Wrestlution 7 'Don't worry about no one else, hows my hair look' - Tiberius Dupree 'Wipe you ass and go to bed' - Sensation to B17
CJ Hoppus Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 There should be two eight's in my stats but if my CAW had two 6.5's I probably sent out my tag champ stats CAW by mistake. As for Parker Stevens, I know he is nowhere near becoming longest reigning champ but he surely must be close to getting the highest number of successive title defenses in a single title run? http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k105/wizkid_1989/TeamUnderdogBanner1.jpg v3 record: Singles: 4/10/0 Tag: 6/3/0
Parker Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hmm..i'm not sure cj, as of today (21/1/08) i have held the title for 52 days (including the x-mas break) and defended it 7 times. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5774/sig2uq.jpg 2 x Hardcore Champion (Longest defending OCW champ,19 defences) 1 x NA Champion 1 x Pride Champion 1 x TV Champion 2 x OCW World Heavyweight Champion F.I Winner 2012 MOTN vs Leonheart @ Wrestlution 7 'Don't worry about no one else, hows my hair look' - Tiberius Dupree 'Wipe you ass and go to bed' - Sensation to B17
DJ Chino Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well, its an improvement over last week.. Im REALLY trying to stop rolling but I end up looking like Im standing there taking a punch...repeatedly
Smythe D. Wonder Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I noticed that this system isn`t for me at all... I strike more than I grapple and attack more than I reverse... not to mention I fought 2 light heavies that damage easily... Stevens clearly won LOTR this month and should be a huge favourite for WOTM... with an impressive pile of wins... even if his highest calibur oppoment was fearo.... Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
CJ Hoppus Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well, its an improvement over last week.. Im REALLY trying to stop rolling but I end up looking like Im standing there taking a punch...repeatedly There's no point trying to stop rolling. I never try to roll, yet it just does it as I'm used to moving while pressing the reversal button. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k105/wizkid_1989/TeamUnderdogBanner1.jpg v3 record: Singles: 4/10/0 Tag: 6/3/0
Parker Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I actually agree with smythe..after fighting CJ i noticed its very hard to land anything on light heavies when they are rolling about,i bet my score is quite low this week..so in hindsight he did better than i thought against chino. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5774/sig2uq.jpg 2 x Hardcore Champion (Longest defending OCW champ,19 defences) 1 x NA Champion 1 x Pride Champion 1 x TV Champion 2 x OCW World Heavyweight Champion F.I Winner 2012 MOTN vs Leonheart @ Wrestlution 7 'Don't worry about no one else, hows my hair look' - Tiberius Dupree 'Wipe you ass and go to bed' - Sensation to B17
