It's a review, like it, don't, enjoy it, make use of it, get butt hurt over it.

 

 

We open with Bash and his minions coming out having done the old 90's fake face entrance swerve. Good, Bon Jovi is dog shit as an entrance theme. Bash is here to save us from the Matrix, or give us a new sickness.  Well, Bingo is here and he's driving like a mad man. Not going to lie, I really hate this "The Daddy" thing, why is he "The Daddy?" Is it because the handler is a dad? Cos there's not been any reasoning as to why Bingo is a Daddy, from what I can recall... Anyway, he smashes his way through DNS, then my ears bleed again because of that theme. I really liked the little look to the camera from B17 before he stripped the table down, if it was deliberate, awesome, if not... Happy accidents. Bash escapes ultimate retribution, fat dick. 

 

Next up we have a menagerie akin to what happens when you're force to do a group project at school and the teacher picks your team mates for you. I'm not sure who phoned them to say they're doing a good job, but they are, it's nice to see a new face in the tag division.  I don't think PWS being part of this makes much sense, but I guess it's something new to get his teeth into. Petie makes great use of Reesisms. Texas Tough Love usually means beating the shit out of someone though, don't think you want to do that to poor Gabriel. 8 bit montage got a pop from me. Again, maybe a happy accident but Gabriel basically levelled up via 

 

I hate entrances without or minimal crowd noise, I feel like Perl is played too similarly to Bash, it was a conversation I had with Rust long ago. Bog standard match, it felt at times that Kira didn't know how to defend herself in some situations.  Promo at the end with the voice over was a good touch.

 

A warning for Ashley Blaine, that included a spelling mistake. Then the cool slow motion snow walk ends before the text ends, which I think was a creative choice... And despite the prior tone, I liked it. 

 

BAE promo up next, he takes all his gear off to cut his promo for some reason, which on anyone else would look fucking stupid, but he's a dirty white boy so it fits his gimmick. 

 

Second match of the night, and it's my favourite Luchador vs. my favourite BEEFYBOY.  Eheheheh someone paused.  Come oooooon, let him break out of the sub... Oh, he pinned him. Well, I expected Eddie to die, and he didn't, finish was shit. Why would you pin someone after a submission?

 

I'm not really a fan of Holly Hunter, I don't get it, you can roll your eyes and skip past this part if that's how you feel.  Very anime ending episode like with the dialogue and the dramatic music.

Standard heel promo from Mad Dawg about the Ice Man. I still hate Ice Man looking so clean, but I get that's what happens when you're no longer dealing with a succubus, you get clean. Omen is back from getting his stupid face punched in!  Sounds effects were too slapstick, but it's better than none. Very bad night for Omen, that's twice he's had his ass kicked now.  The good guys stand tall though, which I always like.

 

I really like the Megan Suzuki CAW, not sure on the entrance theme / entrance combo mind you.  FloJo is FloJo. I really liked FloJo winding up the dive, I guess FloJo isn't always just FloJo.  More competitive than I thought it would be, and an actually palatable finish. Ashley talks like a robot, but hitting her with the FLORENCE was a subtle little heel move. 

I really enjoyed the ME heel promo, then the chalk and cheese combo of A-Mart and Harris, even the entrance is perfect. The Pivot *lifts sunglasses.*

 

So the next promo, it might feel like I'm being mean, and if you feel that way I am, and it's your fault. [Plagiarism]. I actually liked it, even if it was a bit of a grammatical nightmare at times. I enjoy seeing people that don't normally do work... Well... Do work.  Bit of a dark storyline here with Scotty X becoming addicted to painkillers, but y'know what, keep doing work Scotty. Keep. On. Working.

 

Big big win for Dark Reese... I mean PWS.  Unsure if Luis was able to defend himself after the initial kick out because his arms do a little spasm that looks sort of like the FISTUPFISTUPFISTUPFISTUASOPTUASOIFUASIOF stupid animation, but inconclusive. 

 

C-Note now, the voice is great. Canada's second favourite son.  I'm not sure if I'm meant to cheer him or not... Plus he's saying shit, then suddenly won't say fuck...  So I guess he's the good guy?

 

Time for the contract signing between Blacksmith and... Oops. Dad died. 

 

DNS fought Puro Country, Puro Country won. Bad night for the male members of DNS so far huh?

 

Bolek vs Kass, and Kass is the face, because Bolek is a wanker. Kass' face paint seems to have reached the bottom of the bottle here as it's flaking off, or he just really wants to beat up Bolek.  Another beating up of DNS, I love it. I don't blame Kass for going after his stupid face.

 

And I'm stopping here, final page might get reviewed, it might not.

 

 

 

 

 

[B-17]

I like narrative symmetry. It has to be one of my favorite things to look for in a novel. Of course, within OCW the concept of narrative symmetry applied to the grand scope of an entire show/event isn't always possible. Concessions are made because we must remind ourselves that our control does not extend to other's stories. Therefore, I rarely get worked up or upset over the minor elements of someone's story and like to consider how it fits into the grander scheme, even if it doesn't quite hit the mark.  An example is the potential redundancies of a singular show, lessening the impact of a later event, or a video that doesn't get the point across as intended. 

 

However, I like how, without collaboration between the other parties, all three world titles told fundamentally different stories and ended in contrast to how they began. This makes me giddy inside, and it makes me excited to see each match. And I enjoy its simplicity. When watching/reading, I appreciate the storyline of former friends, the potentially repentant heel, and the progress vs. tradition storyline. 

 

 

Some other thoughts. 

 

1. Petie vs. Bishop exemplifies what (IMO) OCW needs more of A constant state of character development. I told Dawg recently that I prefer Petie, and this recent work has solidified that. 

2. That being said, Mad DAWG was an MVP content machine this week, and I think his taking the bullet for BASH should serve as a plot point of significance. 

3. A recent conversation within a group chat allowed me to note that Paul Harris is quite divisive. Do people prefer Paul Harris or Owen? I preferred Owen, but the solidification of Paul in what seems to be a long-term tag team is a positive step forward, and I like the tag name.

4. I don't know how to describe Scotty X or his motivations.

Oh Snap!  is this my first review takeaway thingy?! Alot of me is still learning about who the hell everyone is so bare with me.

 

Bash looks like he really be getting under Daddy's skin huh? Solid segments between these two. DNS getting tribal chief-ed in the parking lot was fun. Expecting a slobberknocker this weekend 

 

Who the hell is Boss?!?!  This trio was not expected but I'm intrigued.  Lol @ the logo with the cowboy hat

 

Kira vs Perly was nice and competitive. Im sure we will find out more about Kira's motives and what's next so I'll wait to comment more in the future. Soulfist! 

 

Who the hell is this person walking in the snow?! The way they were talking I just know they weren't dressed appropriately. Any guesses as to who it might be? I'm still catching up lore wise.

It's weird but Eddie wrestles like a underdog face which is a good thing lol. What's next for Claude now that he's free of C-Note ?

Luis Bishop goes to Texas. These two I want to see more of especially Bishop. Love PWS obviously (except for the finisher lol) I'm sure this is just the beginning between these two. 

 

BENJAMINNNNNN. The voiceover is perfect brother. I. Want. More. Fued has been solid so far. Might be MOTN tbh.

Bolek and Kass has been fun. My favourite wrestler being a cocky prick to the veterans makes me laugh everytime.

This Larry-Rust-Ortiz-Pugh got so much more interesting since last week's tomfoolery. If I'm Rust I'm piss at Pugh too but that just me.

 

Primero vs Sheldon was dope especially the ending. Tijuana counter into superkick. Does Country have Parcas number? he looked like championship material in his match tonight 👀👀👀

 

Last twos shows  before Summercide have been pretty entertaining tbh. See you this weekend
