Here's what happened, 08 sucked balls, 90% of the roster left and returned at some point. If the game (the heart of ocw...let's face it) if the game sucks balls, it's the trickle down theory from that point on, people won't want to play it, people hate playing it, quality of gameplay lacks, people lose interest, then you have what we have now. 50% of the roster remaining, and another 50% lookin to return in January. A whole ppv worth of fuckin returns, waaaa fucking hooo.

How can you have the passion and desire to compete, if you hate the game you're playing? I feel 08 (at the most) showed how a good portion of people can work together to, at least, make a super shitty game work for us, for the time being. Now, 09, the rebirth of competition. No more 'having to get someone dy before a strong grapple'. No more 'hulkin up' 3 min into the match for the fuck of it. No, it's straight up video game wrestling competition, and I'm well aware that 09 will be eerily similar to 07, and I fucking mark my balls off for it.

And why the christ do we have to listen what Nick, Mayhem and Bold have to say about this? If you like the idea of SvR 09, and the return of competition so much, get in character, and prepare to come back for 09 you sons of bitches!! {hint fucking hint ;) }

Yay DISCUSSION

Mayhem, Versus, and Smythe all make great points. Althought Mayhem you are mistaken, part of the reason why Vega is so over in the past and even now is not because of his RP Skills, (Lets face it English is not his native lang)It was because his videos where on fucking point, and because he is ENTERTAINING to watch in the ring. Its part of the reason 3 years ago Geo demanded Baxter get put in a title situation (Remember baxter was always the underdog and you rooted for him to win)

The fact is some can do both, example Majin a man who works ungodly hours, yet can bang out an essay at a moments notice, and is also very aggressive in the ring. Some can do one or the other, the fact remains we are about competition period.

Its the reason I only use a LHW to fight The top guys in 2009, Competition.

Fact is thou the reason people are not up in the loop is because they do not want to be. Even you yourself Kris you really only concern yourself with what Kris is doing. Its the nature of the beast. I do feel however that 2009 is going to shake things up for the better. The game allows us to lean away from so many rules in favor of commonsense.

As for getting counted out to be "Heel" its pretty lame and no diff than the supposed taking a dive for the betterment of a story. I kind wish someone did get counted out so I could whip the ref and then spam chair moves. :)

09 looks to be an amazing game for OCW... with terrible options for OCW... the in ring portion is amazing... even the HOT TAG is reversable... as well as the lift ups and the drags... the possum pin is now a reversal to a pin attempt... which is sweet... the strikes and grapples look prety even... with the only problems being sig moves... and Resiliency... however those are implemented...

Jay has a point... moving up in OCW is a matter of ENTERTAINMENT... the more people mark the higher you go... people mark for winning. RP's, vids, everything

some people are in OCW to recreate an actual fed experience and others are in OCW to dominate... I am the earlier... I like reading RP's and watching storylines... plus the top guys are the ones that RP anyway...

FPR will have to make a new slew of rules to phase out the "ethics term" and make them into all out no-no's because people can't seem to get it...

Me and Steve were talking about why FPR has to make rules and post them instead of having a general vote on certain things... and after Mayhems post I completely agree with Steve... Guys getting counted out??? not understanding the concept of ethics??? guys moving forward with no RP skills???

let's face it guys... ladder or no ladder... tracking wins and losses or not... would that really change much??? here's what will happen... Kip and Mace will move into the Main event like they would have normally... Me and Nate and Leon and Versus will still be in the ME... maybe Valmont and Kang... but nothing else would change... will you guys wake up more to do matches??? will you guys be around more to see who wins matches??? will Bold stop playing professional football to do more OCW matches??? or maybe Cross will give up school and come back??? or Majin will stop working 7 days a week??? maybe AJ will!!!! whatever he's doing???

OCW needs more interesting characters... not more people that aren't characters... the game is the same from match to match... building rivalries... and putting together big matches is what will make OCW watchable... were just at a stage where every match has been done...

09 is gonna be sweet... we see the death of the stupid tech style... the death of the cheap ass powerhouse perk... and everything is reversable... including the lift up and the wrestler drag... we'll see who is who with this new game...

BUilding rivalries, putting big matches together trying to recreate the EFed experiance....

I had to come back to see that one more time, Sry man What I speak on was the original EFED experience. You guys came along and changed that for me years ago and will never be the same, so you must mean your Efed experiance.

SRY Smythe I know you wheren't here but I spent the better half of a year chasing down Nate Ortiz building that match for when ever the 1st encounter was myself, I never saw Nate RP about Mayhem trying to chase the big dog with Nate only ignoring it due to not wanting to fight me, even other people have confirmed that a long time ago because of my "attitude" or "agressiveness".

There where a bit more polotics back then than now or so I should hope on who gets to fight who these days.

I had more wins than Nate for the longest time yet I was denied a title shot against him and had hurddels put in my way, some worked such as Tyranny, but even he had to say that it should have rather been me.

I didn't get to fight Nate until he "lost" the title.

blah blah perks this and that. Yeah I feel you there. But when 07 was around I do remember whipping alot of ass, made Karim quit, Devil D Graves retired, and defeated RD twice in a four way, and defeated Nick as well in one of those. I Had one of the longest fued with none other than Matt Wilson for a better part of half a year. That storyline got me jack, and it was a great one.

The ladder bracket if where in affect should have put me up there and did not.

I watched a majority of things due to friends wanted me to check thier matches out which is cool and still do so don't front on me players.

The thing I am trying to just point out is that the person that is moving up in the brackets with "meh RPs" & wins regardless should be considered to be givin oppertunities just as well as the guy who does great RPs yet has average GP skills or even the ones who excell in both.

I do have to agree that some need to RP atleast one time a month just to know that you still got a pulse.

Me, I've been quite because I've been "Buried" so consider that part of staying in charecter due to storyline. Yet with all this going on I had to break silence.

Although everyone has to face the bull and I am saying that I hope the ladder returns and is in true form to Book these matches that would be so great, besides aren't you getting bored of fighter the same players over and over?

I am. for FUCK sake i havent even fought Guy Fausto and he and I have been here for ages, i have no clue to what reason that may be.

I wish other people would face me more but they don't, I am a nice guy a majority know that. In the ring I have bettered myself with FPR but I bring the competition because I will pin you when I am allowed to Finisher or non. Yeah 08 not the year of the Monster sry I chose a different path with alot of things I am doing.

So fair warning when this Monster returns, I'll bring the hell fire back from which none have seen in half a decade.

I haven't been avoiding you. It's just never been booked, and I kinda doubt it'll just be a tossaway match for some random show as it's kinda the last big Old School vs. Old School(slightly less so, but comparitively) match left. It's not a match to be opening Turmoil and we've both been occupied when we're active. I don't remember you being active in the 08 season outside Irving one-off(excuse me if I'm wrong. Even I can have lapses in memory and I don't blame you for wanting nothing to do with 2k8.).

Mayhem, I truely mean no offnse, but the reason you got 'burried' and people didn't want to fight you is because you were a very, very cheap fighter.

As far as competition > RPing to get into the ME, I also believe you are wrong. Yes, winning is important, but it is not the end all, be all. Not only do you have to win, you must do it fairly, AND you must be able to be a competent writer. Wins alone should never be the only criteria to get title shots or to move up the card. I know that if you can't write, I don't give a shit about your character.

Everyone here is competitive, some more than others, but we all are. It's the writing and winning fairly that sets the ME and title holders apart from the rest of the roster.

Here is the issue,

OCW is about ..

Competition

Fair Play

Creativity

Role Playing

No matter what we do in the ring it has to be fair.

That being said, no one is really better then anyone else and you should fight who you are booked against not who you choose to fight against.

example kip vs mace. now that the feud has started kip should not defend his titile until he fights mace but in the mean time Kip or mace can be booked against anyone leading up to their fight as long as GM's make it work with the storyline and/or kip and mace offer ideas as well.

I have seen some people ride a high horse and refuse to work with anyone outside of their own little circle of who they feel is worthy and that has to stop.

I used to be guilty of it as well but looking back i should not have acted that way.

RD is a great example, that dude would fight anyone and usually spank them.

Thats how you need to roll in OCW.

This bullshit "he is cheese i dont want to fight him" is crap because for the most part most of OCW is not as bad as certain people make it about to be.

our superstars may not be very creative or entertaining but the cheese is not as bad as some make it out to be.

Look at my match with bold last year. only 3 people could beat bold, Nate, Kage, and Guy.

For all the personal shit with me and bold the dude can hang in the ring and our match was pure competition and followed fpr. We were aggressive, we wanted it and you can tell by watching it.

in the end i may have won by bold showed he can hang and one or 2 moves would have gone differently he may have won.

what I want to see is people being booked against new people people that have not faced before, or people they may not "choose". This idea that you can coast thru ocw picking your opponents and deciding who you face in the ring every week has to go.

Gm's should be booking matches that both follow a the characters storyline but also makes for good matches.

Lets face it while smythe is right creativity and rp's do hlep modl the focus of yoru character if every week you only fighting those syou deem worthy its gay. why not see steve vs mayhem? steve a ring tech and a very smart fighter vs mayhem a monster full of aggression and power.. 2 very different styles would and established characters woudl make for a great match.. will we ever see it?

not if its up to steve.

but why should it be up to steve? shouldn,t the GM's book what they want?

a match against mayhem wont destroy Steves feud?

of course mayhem has to have some tact and not ruin the feud or inject himself to much either but still i dont see what this match cant happen.

it may be an example but that is what we lose out on when people are "choosing"" who they will fight.

fuck it you get booked you fight and win or lose you rp to roll with the punches.

i may have adapted this outlook a bit late in ocw but better late then never.

and a win lose stat tracking is much needed.
