The Ryder Report

Yes, I've jumped on the Aftershow-Reporting bandwagon, and have decided since I haven't commented enough in the past week, I should get my head down and start giving my thoughts on what I like and do not like about current yin and yang of OCW.

Which brings me to my next point:

DISCLAIMER

Anything I say about a storyline/fued/match/roleplay involving you, is merely an opinion, do not take it as a personal insult ... Unless your name is Leonheart.

Right then, now that THAT is out of the way, on with the show.

Page 1

The show opens up with that Canadian Rapper we all love to hate, no I'm not talking about Snow, I'm talking about Smythe Da Wonder. Very creative, as usual from Smythe, speaking about the new President of the US, before moving onto bigger matters, which involves myself and Kip Conrad.

I would like to thank Smythe, for giving our Tag Team Match some build up, I hope we can put on a good match at The Clash, you know, before we obviously take the gold :P

Now I liked the Promo overall, but there's one thing that's always bugged me about reading Smythe's RP's, those pointless dots he puts in the middle .......... of his ......... RP's, I feel if he stops doing that, it'd make him look a lot more professional, for example: a Guy Fausto style Promo. Now don't take this as offence Smythe, like I said before in the disclaimer, this isn't a personal jab, just an opinion.

Match 1

D Jones Vs. Frank Smith

To start off, D Jones' attire is way over used, in terms of his design anyway. I feel he really needs to change it to something that people don't see so much in order to help him get noticed, but at the same time, not something completely out there that'll leave people saying "WTF?".

The theme song doesn't sound like a theme song to me, if you don't understand what I mean, listen to Carlos Cruz's theme song, it just seems like a song you'd hear in an arena, when he comes out to wrestle. But with D Jones, it doesn't have the same feeling to me, my suggestion is to find something that has that feeling, I'm sure there's something out there.

Here comes BJ Pentista! :P I'm just joking Frank, relax. On a serious note, the theme song is an issue again. I don't understand how people think these fit as theme songs, it's like a Swan Like act dancing to Slipknot, it just doesn't fit. As for the CAW, I don't see a problem with the appearance, believe it or not, Frank now has a look, it may remind you of a certain someone, but it's now his look, he is the bastard child of BJ Penn and Bastista.

Onto the match itself, it seemed like an uphill battle from the get go for Jones, and his moveset being based a lot on arm damage, doesn't help. After watching the match for a few minutes, I've noticed that both men won't try to reverse much, just constantly going for the offence. The irony being, if one of them tried to stop and reverse for a while, they'd have this match in the bag.

In the end, Smith's dominance with the Body and Head damage moves is too much for Jones to handle, I also noticed that Jones is a little quick when getting to his feet, just try and slow down a bit mate.

Overall, it was what it was, a Rookie match, even if Frank is a Vet', he's got ring rust in a sense. I can see both of these two going up the ladder quickly, they just need some work, mainly on their reversal technique.

------------

I have to say, I loved this Promo from The Vindicator, it had detail, it had depth and it had a nice build up to the finish. The storyline seems like something you'd see on Television, in one of those Drama's that air in the early evening, that your mother would get into. But don't let that discredit the way this was written, If Vinnie can play as well as he can RP, he'll go far, fast.

Aries seems to be reeking of something, and it sure isn't awesomeness. I like how Aries writes his pronunciation differently, in order to get that Scottish accent in, just don't try too hard Aries, I know Scottish people, and most of them have never said "S'arry", but if you ask any Scottish man to say the word Will, he'll say Wool, it's quite funny.

Aries begins to talk about how he hates what he's become, how he wants to change, officially announcing at the same time, his departure from The Bloodline. That's when Trance seems to magically appear, like a ninja. Both men exchange words, which seems to lead to Trance having to prove himself to Aries. What the heck is going on around here? Is everyone starting to go into Face turn Rehab or something? It was still a good promo though, which doesn't surprise me, since I've worked with both Aries and Trance, and have great results, I wish them both well with whatever they have planned.

Match 2

Chris Baxter Vs. Anthony Martin

Why is it, that there's this person called Black Dragon wrestling in OCW, but I still see Chris Baxter's name everywhere whenever he wrestles? Come on mate, change that Name up already, everybody knows you as B.D. now. I'm always a fan of A-Mart's theme song, but if I had a penny for everytime he had a new attire, I'd be a millionaire. This one seems to work well though, stick with it A-Mart.

The match seemed to flow nicely, but both men clearly have a problem with finishing. In the end it was really dragged out, but the finish was nice. Just gotta' work on gettin' er' done faster lads, and you'll have no trouble in the future.

------------

Justin Rox and this whole "I have your Bike, your Car, and now I want your weiner" storyline is getting a bit annoying, I have to be honest. It doesn't seem to make any sense, it's like some random hobo in the street offers to shine your shoes or something ... What? It could happen. Anyway, I think Rox should bury this Story as soon as possible, and move onto something better.

Page 3

Spoonman is entertaining the ladies tonight, it seems. But is quite rudely interrupted by the returning Clown known as Wesley Adams Poe, it sounds like something is on the verge of building up here, and I for one look forward to it.

Match 3

Trips Vs. Jacob Trance

Now since I recorded this match, I already made my own opinion on it a long time ago. A very close match between two very hot headed Scottishman, I think in the end, the weight class difference cropped up on Trance, giving Trips a well deserved victory. But I don't think that's the last time we've seen these two face off, I'd look forward to a rematch sooner than later.

------------

Justin Rox in: The case of the missing weiner hut hotdogs. Like I said, I'm not a fan of this storyline, but I have to give Rox credit, he's a nice RPer, a few nit picks here and there, but nothing major. I think if Rox had a better Storyline to work on, he'd look a lot better as a Roleplayer.

Page 4

Seth really seems to have become an Egotistical jerk, it makes me so proud :) On a serious note, it's a good Gimmick change for Irving, I hope he builds well on it.

Match 4

Seth Irving Vs. Aries

Not a bad thing to say about this match imo, it was fast paced, it was competitive, reversals left and right, and a great finish. A great job from both Vet's, you deserve 5 Stars.

------------

VFM is talking to somebody on the phone, I wonder who it could be? ... Oh come on, we all know who it is. The real question here is, what the hell did Deano do to himself this time?

Page 5

I have to admit, this RP between Aries and Rox made me laugh a bit, with Rox leaving Aries clueless, it was nicely done. So Aries is going to get a title shot? BEFORE ME?! THE BEST THE EX HAS TO OFFER?! ... Calm down Chris, remember, find your centre .... err, anwyay. We'll have to wait and see what happens TONIGHT!

Match 5

Chris Mania Vs. Leonheart

Mania coming out like a true rockstar, from Wales ... I know, it makes no sense to me either. Nonetheless, it's a nice look for the Spoonman. AHAHAHAHA, that announcement was gold.

"SPOON!"

"SPOONMAN!"

And here comes RandyHeartOrtonLeon, sporting a title over his shoulder, like the true love to hate Champion that he is. I expect him to be punting Jaysin in the head before this night is over, or I want my money back.

This match is a brilliant example of how every match in OCW should be played, Leon and Mania always bring out the best in themselves, when they play each other, and this was no different. Back and forth throughout the match, it could've gone either way, but Leon showed why he's the OCW champion, with a Punt to the head. Well if he isn't gonna' Punt Jaysin, he has to Punt someone tonight.

------------

NO! GOD DAMN IT, HE SHOULDN'T BE HERE, I SENT HIM OFF TO MEXICO! GOD FREAKIN' DAMN IT, THIS IS BALLSHIT CRAZY!

And on that note, Riot was brilliant this week, with good RP's and growing Gimmicks, to Storylines getting bigger and rookies starting to shine. It's going to be a good year for OCW, if everyone can keep it up.

THE END.

Frank... your arms are paper thin from certain angles. I noticed it the last time I saw your CAW, but I thought is was because you weren't completely finished with it or something. You're gonna decapitate someone with a lariat with arms like that. Smooth, like butter.
