Vincent Valmont Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 If you guys are wondering why I keep doing these reviews, almost a week later? Because it gives you bastards time to watch the whole show and not just read this big ass review and be satisfied. I mean seriously, if you guys just want to read reviews to see what's going on then we might as well go back to oldschool OCW and everything start writing their own shit for matches. :) Riot was awesome and I think did a good job in staying toe to toe with a great Turmoil show. I don't know if it's because Lution is around the corner and it's making shows better itself or if everyone is just trying to put in the effort because it's Lution? :) Page 1- The Lord of the EX? Solid promo to open Riot from Ryder and apparently, Kip Konrad makes a cameo apperance at the end. With Kip gone, whos' tagging with the German? KD vs Frank vs Trips 3.5/5- New theme, Frank? I don't know if it suits you. I'm sure someone has said this, but your caw just wishes to have some metal or rock in your theme or maybe some nice mixture of rock and rap. Soon as the match started off, Trips got some good momentum and went right after Frank and KD with combos. I don't know if Trips supposed to look like a hoss, but he almost looks like an ex guy in this match with Frank and KD. I saw a few advantages that was tooken thanks to the targetting system, which always tend to happen in 3 and 4 ways. I actually liked the triple threat elimination match style after KD got eliminated and I realized it. I don't think I've seen it happen before. The final battle between Frank and Trips was nice to see. You really couldn't predict who would win until the very last end of the match. Congrats to all 3 men's performances. Nice 3way to kick off Riot. Judas Hallows cuts a promo with OCW's janitor and I'm glad that I don't forget anything in my lockeroom after the show is over. The promo was interesting, yet hiliarious. What was supposedly thought to be Steve's "pills" in the drink, but it turns out to be Trance's pain killers and with that simple mistake, it setups a match between Trance and Judas. It's always nice to ex wrestlers going 1on1. Page 2- The Wonders cut a promo without even knowing it and it appears that Sasha sets up their rematch for their tag titles tonight and that's some good news. I agree that Smythe might need to watch his back or lil' Wesley might steal Sasha away from Smythe. Trance vs Judas 3.5/5- There was something about this match that just seemed to flow together nicely. I lol'ed at how Trance failed at the dropkick while Judas was "kissin the guns". A devestating knee drop from Judas causes Trance to bleed. I didn't like at how around the 7:40 mark where Judas was about to hit a combo and hesitated for a second and Trance killed the momentum instead of reversing. It's one of those things that keeps getting brought up and it's real easy to avoid doing if people trusted their ability to reverse. Judas gets Trance red first and tries to finish Trance off, but he kept fighting Judas until the end. Congrats to both performances and the winner on a well deserved W. Trips cuts a interesting interview backstage and we get his thoughts about who his FI opponenats will be and who will win the match and move on to become OCW champ. I'm pretty sure you don't need miss cleo to guess who he thought of. Page 3- Things are only getting better in this feud between Gaines and Vindicator. After arriving to the arena, Gaines gets blindsided and attacked by V. On another note I think that caf needs a bit of tweaking in there. It's just the spin on it doesn't seem to f it. Tag Title Match - Bloodline vs Ryder/??? 4/5- This match was quite long. I think it reached at 25 min? Since Ryder and Kip are no longer partner, who will Ryder tag with? A 2on1 in a tag title match? Before the match could start, Aries makes his way to the ring and surprisingly helps Ryder defend the tag titles. We get some good action between Aries and lil' Wesley to start off the match. Bunch of reversals and action already taking place. I was shocked to see Smythe get red before Wesley. Alot of chances for the Wonders to end the match early, but Ryder and Aries wasn't going down without a fight. I personally don't like the 3 save rule, it should be cut down to 1 so tag matches don't end up being almost 30 min long. If not, then just 3 run ins period. Not just saves, but only get 3 chances to run in and either save a pin or break it. After Ryder reached for the hot tag for Aries, I thought it was going to be over, but a nice reversal from Smythe. Alot of fin reversals took place in this match and saved both teams quite a lot. In the end I was sorta surprised to see how the match end. I was sure that he broke it up at the end, but I was wrong. The end result definitely makes the tag division interestin for the tag titles. It seems Blade is making friends with Mr. Whiskey to aide himself. It really seem both of these guys hate each other so much that Blade starts drinking and VFM is going insane. However, this feud is also up there for best buildup heading into Lution. After the tag title match, cameras fade back to the ring. It appears that Wesley stayed in the ring. Suddenly, the return of Evan Knox is revealed and he delivers a strong message to the ex-division by whooping Wesley's ass. I wonder what this makes for the ex-title picture heading into Lution with everyone fighting and scratching to get that title. I feel sorry for lil' Wesley...almost. I will give credit where it's due and I'm giving it to KD. IMHO, I think KD should keep this mystery trainer going past Lution, if indeed you was thinking about using Lution as a setup to reveal who it was, but then again it's just an opinion. Page 4- Main Event - Vincent Valmont vs Nate Ortiz - Won't go much into detail, but I enjoyed fighting Nate. Just when you think you've got some momentum in a match with him he quickly changes it and starts whooping your ass and before you know it, you're getting speared. Hopefully i'll be able to get on the same level as Nate inside the ring and someday fight him again. Page 5- Riot Finale - Before I discuss Leon/Smythe, those alert videos are interesting. I'm hoping to see more develope from them as we get closer to Lution. If anyone was doubting or questioning the buildup for the main event at Lution, think again. There's history between these two and eventually it's going to be unleashed and I'm sure Lution will be the host of that. Back and forth argueing between both men. Good points where made by Smythe, but also by Leon. This RP just basically told you to choose...Smythe or Leon, whoever wins, OCW loses. :) OCW's 2008's Most Improved Wrestler 2x OCW Heavyweight Champion2x OCW Hardcore Champion
