While I'm sure that's certainly still the case for a lot of people. Years ago it was the case that the main event was exciting. You cared about it. You were invested in those characters and really wanted to see what happened. Nate v Guy was important and the outcome really mattered. That would probably be a PPV ME but even the RIOT main events would build those kind of feuds.
Now that's not really the case. I generally don't care. It's a number of things that breed this. The quality of story for one thing, in the upper card it's just not there like it used to be. That can be to do with competition. You'd watch Nate v Guy and believe the whole story because you never knew who was going to win but now, generally speaking, you know exactly whois going to win. Despite what people say about the games being easier and making everyone good, we've just stripped a champion because nobody can bloody beat him.
Back in the day skipping was due to excitement and people, at least sepaking for myself, would go back and watch the rest later. Now skipping is done in apathy, don't care won't watch.
