Did you miss the part where people complained that I wasn't being opinionated enough on the feedback threads? I'm pretty sure they called me out for it on the desk a few months back. Like fuck, I can't do anything right. RP! DONT RP! GET BETTER ON THE STICKS! DIMS SUCKS FOR LETTING YOU GET OFFENSE IN! WIN SOMETHING! HE WAS HANDED A WIN! POST IN THE FEEDBACK THREAD! STOP POSTING IN THE FEEDBACK THREAD! Well fuck me running!

I wish you guys were capable of realizing how fucking goofy you look when you bag on a rookie for their inexperience on the sticks. That's like calling a child short. Inevitably, children grow taller. Inevitably, rookies get better on the sticks. It's funny how much attention has been drawn to the idea that putting the Champ in the barrel is bad for the community but apparently alienating rookies because they're new to the competition is healthy as a motherfucker. Some of you guys are so fucking backwards you can't even see your own dicks.

We both know you just felt bad for victimizing me so bad in the first match that you let me get some heat on ya. You don't have to lie to these people to make me feel better about myself.

Everyone doesn't hate Cody. He has his Edgeheads, Leon, Sean and KD. Maybe you guys should come out dressed similar to Cody and we can call you guys the CODYPENDENTS. Send me those royalties when it's convenient Cody. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN I'LL BE HERE ALL NIGHT, TRY THE LOBSTER!

In Dims defense that was after our first match glitched out, and he dragged me around the ring by my head for most of that match.

I think this batch of rookies from the last couple of weeks is going to be so awesome. Cut Throat, Tyga, Cesar, I love the heavy gimmicked characters like that and it's going to be so fun watching these guys get established on the road to Lution.

I like the stuff that Pugh, A-Team and Matsuda have done so far though. Not to mention the fact that virtually everyone in OCW but you remembers me giving Pugh a pretty big piece of my mind pretty early on. The point is, all I've even done here is acknowledge that he took a shot at me in a promo, which is fine. I like that stuff. I took one issue with something in his promo that could have been done better or made slightly more sense. Like, let's talk about this from an in-character prospective with K'Dangelo. If Cody Storm walks out to the ring and lays down an open challenge for his title, for ANYONE who wants a free shot at the world title, is KD really gonna sit backstage staring at his boots or is he gonna go out there and black rack the fuck out of Cody and take that World title once and for all? You guys suggested that people HELP and make people better. Me pointing out that, that one plot point in his segment could have been a little better is valid criticism. It's not a pot shot, it's legitimate feedback.

Tibby caught the fade in a promo when he took a shot at me that went over all your heads, and he thanked me for coming back at him. That's because Kent's nuts dropped a long time ago and he appreciates continuity and acknowledgement. In all honesty, the quickness with which you guys are jumping to Cody's defense any time anyone even says his name is making this worse than the criticism is. When I came in here I was told these feedback threads are full of ball busting. Now it feels like a fucking cyberbullying awareness commercial. He's the champ. He's in the crosshair. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. http://media.philly.com/images/071013-throne-600.jpg and for the record, the ball breaking Cody was subjected to led to probably his most firey promo since I joined the OCW. Should we all be quiet so the champ can go back to sulking in his wife's minivan?

I see what Raze is saying though. People would have walked out, which could have led to Cody taking a powder in #heel fashion and just play off of it. It does look kinda dumb to think that people would see this goofball making an open challenge and no one would go out there.

I know that the last thing OCW needs is more title belts for Brennan to collect (how much more success do you need in a day? This guy is gonna have rookies as Edgeheads by the time Lution rolls around), but I really think that a lot of the bullshit lately comes down into a split between what people want out of OCW. I have to correct myself in saying that, there really is nothing wrong or dumb about someone who comes here to get their competitive itch out and writing / storylines are just sort of part of that for them. I just think that, that marquee person does have to be a content work horse, and a #TeamReliable sort of person. If that's not your thing it's not your thing. In WWF/WWE history, the IC title was that workhorse title, and it really had as much credibility and importance at times as the World title, without having the stigma of always needing a story plastered all over it. You know when the IC title is up it's supposed to be a battle. No finger poke of doom bullshit. I remember someone was saying, you know with competitive style players, you're going to see a fight. Maybe having a title that is that sticks warrior division would help the issue in a compound way. Players who mostly want to compete can do that. You can still have storylines and promos but it doesn't have this cloud over it's head of needing a hot feud to be worth the title. It also becomes the storyline. "We're here to fight for that damn title and that's what we're gonna do!" I picture a Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle style motivation going down on something like that.

Funny thing is the same things have to be pointed out over and over again, but at least the feedback threads are active again. Look at how many ghosts have come to the last two feedback threads.

For the record, I don't think a single person questioned Cody's ability to win that match. If anything, people almost saw it as inevitable. The thing is, that match, was him getting a chance, and it ended with a finish that Cody's biggest fan said himself was less than stellar. People questioned Cody's ability to be entertaining, to be World Champion material, and much like he was accused of on last week's thread, he rushed straight for the finish as soon as possible. Cody can write. His segments aren't poorly written or too short or anything. It just seems like to Cody, writing, and character development and feuding is a necessary evil to him to be able to simply WIN, and that's not what the highest title in an e-fed should be carried by. He gets to try to prove people wrong at this point, but I gotta say I have even less faith after the finish of the match. You're right that we shouldn't sit around and run the guy down, but there's a lot of constructive comments and criticism in the ball breaking, and none of it has been at all addressed or proven wrong at this point.

The part that frustrates me into unloading on this subject is, I came here because I'm a pro wrestling fan. As far as I can tell, and anyone, please, feel free to correct me if you disagree, that wrestling is about characters, storylines, mic work, and entertaining visuals in matches. Now quite frankly, due to the fact that this is partially competitive, there aren't a lot of stories being told in the ring in the way that say, a Sami Zayn and Cesaro told a story last night strictly through their ring work at ArRival, because the story seems to be the same most of the time, it's "THE THIRST!", but when people start basically telling me that my stories are worthless because I'm thrown into the trenches here and I'm playing catch up on the sticks side of things, I'm going to speak up. To me, it just seems like there are a lot of people here because they LOVE wrestling... and then there are some people here because they want to win something... and it seems like they belong in a UFC Undisputed 3 League rather than a wrestling e-fed, because they, while abiding by the rules set up here, treat the game like it's a fighting game instead of trying to utilize it as a pro wrestling simulator.

Considering how this game is FUCKING UNPLAYABLE ONLINE outside of organizations like the OCW, it's pretty hard to get anything in. Matches for me are 50% me trying to time the lag that is different every match I play, sometimes it's as bad as a 2-3 second delay, so I literally have to hit the reversal button before someone even starts doing a move and just pray I get lucky, and then it's about 25% desperately trying to catch up and start getting any kind of meaningful offense in, and then it's 25% getting ragdolled from double orange to double red, wakeup taunt, finisher, finito. A lot of people here talk a lot of FPR shit and a lot of people seem to have this freebie pass on their FPR. Watch one of those KD vs Minio match ups back, I'm not saying the guy hovers but he NEVER backs off. You have no time to reset, no time to do anything. That's when you really suffer at the hands of lag, because you're never getting offense in, you're just battling the lag in pure desperation to reverse. I often times make the stupid mistake of trying to actually build progression of moves in a match to make it actually look remotely like a match and I'll get destroyed with a power move in the first 15 seconds for my troubles. I'll try to do strikes, I'll do grapple moves that lead to strike moves, and I'll just get jacknifed through the ring. It's just very confusing as a newcomer because people tell you, it's a mixture of putting on a good match and playing competitively, but there is a clear segment of players here who are just playing this competitively. I do believe that you get better by competing against people who are better than you, but this shit is EXTREMELY overwhelming as you're trying to learn and remember FPR, and there are some guys who have no interest in helping teach you in the moment about the right and wrongs of FPR. So while you have that riding on your shoulders, knowing a few sticks in the mud will bitch about it on the feedback thread rather than teach you in the moment, then you're just trying to learn the Online game, you're trying to learn how to do all of these things on the fly, all the mean time someone is just relentlessly destroying you. The only thing you're learning there is what your character looks like when he's totally helpless. Then, when you try to get your work in verbally, you have people who poo poo on it because you're not good on the sticks. It's important to remember, while Cody didn't have Ambition, he seems to have had another fed that he came from to get to here. A lot of us rookies don't have that. We don't have Ambition. We don't have backgrounds in other feds or leagues in this game or previous versions. We're just here trying to learn against people who are just trying to win because everyone is more concerned with being the Crowned King of OCW mountain than they are concern with telling a story or building a character. Thank god that there is a group of people here who actually see, and give even half a shit, about the bigger picture, because there's a handful who really don't, and they only seem to resent the idea of a bigger picture.

Not for nothing, but handling a character is a chess game. You have to have your next few moves planned out. I think the real criticism of Cody is that, there doesn't really seem to be any real plan from here on out about where he wants that character to go, where he wants that story to go. When people asked, "hey, do you have a plan?" he tried to forfeit his title match before playing it and seemed to think about quitting. The other is that, Cody isn't really trying to put on a decent match, he's just trying to win. There is a segment of players here who sell, they're gracious opponents, and they don't make you look retarded. There are other players who don't give a fuck, they basically play this like it's public Online WWE 2K14 except with the double red rule. I would say that, the amount of people who play with that cut throat style are a definite minority, and I refer to it as "Stiff", but it's really dumb for a number of reasons, it seems to entirely miss the point of the OCW concept that the hard workers here are trying to develop and get across, and quite frankly, it's counter-productive. You for instance KD, every time I play against you, you're "in a bad mood" and you basically just fuck my face and squash me. Thanks KD, I appreciate the fact that instead of taking your shit out on the people who piss you off, you take it out on a rookie who's trying to learn how to compete, but it's counter productive as fuck. Then toolboxes like Cody bitch about the fact that I get squashed. That's why I go after anybody. If you guys don't appreciate the time that I put in writing, and if you just want to bury me and hurt my ability to get any kind of long term believable progression to my character (or any rookie), then I'm going to speak my mind and tell you how dumb the double standards are and how silly the logic is. If you think it's hard to believe in a character who loses and gets squashed, don't be a douchebag and squash people. You can get your win in without completely dominating every single match or sprinting to the finish. It's just, when you play like that, all you're benefiting is yourself. So if you're in this for yourself, then prepare to get called out on it, ridiculed and made fun of. There are a lot of people here who really have made an effort to build people up and help develop them into long term contributors to the OCW, and then there are people who are selfish and are just here to be "winners" of a fucking efed. Look stupid, get treated like you're stupid, it's a really simple concept, and when people start acting gracious, they get treated graciously. Let's just stop playing dumb about it already. For what it's worth, everything I've done in this thread was just me jokingly putting Cody in the Randy Orton position, and people actively watching the WWE product will get that almost immediately. Anyway, there's your sermon. http://www.utahreps.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Mic-Drop.gif
