For New Jersey, Hoboken is their arts museum. For New York, Hoboken is where Sinatra is from. For Xander Rane, Hoboken is now only where his mother is.
Xander: I tell ya Ma, this guy's a real freak. Just yesterday, he calls me big daddy or some shit like that. You'd of loved him, I tell ya. You always said crazy's just what the boring kids call us right?
The tattoo-heavy young man turns his head back towards the bed he's leaning against and grins at the woman with his eyes shit before quickly turning back to face at the wall across from them.
Xander: And I know you ain't real happy about what I did at the pay per view with him, but I swear I'm doing what I need to! It's what's right for the fans, for dad! And for yo....
*Knock knock*
Man: May I come in?
Xander: Yeah, of course, what can I do for ya doc?
Doctor: Come in Xander, you know I hate having to do this, but I've been holding out for you with the other doctors long enough, and keeping your mother in life support is becoming too expensive, how much longer are you going to ask me to do this for you?
Rane pull a crumpled up piece of paper out of his vest and tosses it at the Doctor.
Xander: However long that shitty was check from my failing employers will buy her.
Doctor: I'm going to be straight with you, this will give her weeks, a couple of months at a serious stretch. And what are you going to do after that? Keep donating your entire checks and sleeping in Coach's gym?
Xander smiles sadly at the man, knowing he was right about how desperate of a situation his family was in. He sighs and walks towards the man to the door.
Xander: I was just about to tell Ma actually, there's no real need to worry Doc. Her kid's bringin home a big ol champions bonus soon enough, whatever it takes. So you just keep on keepin' her alive man, I'll keep buyin' her enough time to wake up.
