You have mashers and you have people who can hold the button in. Single wise people can kick out by holding the buttons in. Anything after a singles lag can come into play and fuck it up. As for mashers you're mashing so lag doesn't affect it.

 

people who 'time' kickouts are only gonna get it once, maybe twice if they are lucky..so I dont see them as a big issue...hazard kicked out of a finisher if i remember, by timing, proves the sun even shines on a dog's ass some days.

You did not kick out of 6 of Aries finishers, 3 of them were rope breaks. [unless my memory is wrong, but i remember telling aries he jobs to ring positioning due to all the rope break]

 

I see where your coming from in not wanting matches to drag, but i dont want to see 5 minute matches either, as it only takes like 4 groggy grapples to injure someone, then a fin after that = instant death, kinda lame.

 

That could happen in 07, 08 and 09 though. That's why when someone would counter a finisher you would mark. Mania beat Smythe at one time in 07 I believe in 4 mintues.

Exactly my argument...you live your life in 'back on 07'...the game has changed, it's 2011..time to move on, and adapt.

 

In that case, lets go back to being able to counter chain grapples. Doesn't matter how easy you can counter it's 2011 and that's how this game works.

 

See where I am coming from?

 

OCW has always been about sorting out the bugs THQ give us and making it fair. Like Trevor said, you say that you can't be pinned this year. That's an issue, constant no selling of finisher is a big issue imo and it makes matches unbearable to watch.

I'm just a rookie here and don't have the ring experience as the rest of you here, but I figured I'd drop my opinion. I'm a OCW fan first and for most. I watch alot of video. From a pure entertainment aspect I do see unlimited kick outs as an issue. It devalues finishers all together. If we were to instill maybe a 1x kick out rule as well as the hurt/holding self aspect would be a nice addition. I feel if you changed it to 1x kick out it would make a big diffrence. Then possibly you could remove the "high impact" move finish and just have sig/ or fin finishes after one finisher has been hit. This would eliminate the worry of short matches with your one kick out and only being able to finish of a sig or fin once your fin has been hit. I don't know if that makes sense.

so you're saying to let someone pin you once they've done more than 1 finisher?

No I'm saying you should be allowed to kick out of one pin attempt after the fin has been hit. If you kick out of a succesfully hit fin that was your one kick out. From there I feel that the next pin should come off of a fin or sig instead of a high impact move.

I say abolish all the overlapping redundant classes.

 

Have everyone with a base, charisma, durability and submission stat

 

Classes

 

SuperHeavyweight

 

Super strong, but super slow. high grapple and strike. Low speed.

Heavyweight

 

Balanced grapple and strike, decent speed

 

Lightweight

 

Weaker grapple and strike, above average speed

 

Cruiserweight

 

Very weak grapple and strike, super fast speed

Boost up the durability and lower everyone to a base charisma of maybe 60-65. Your less likely to take damage after 4 moves. And less charisma so it takes longer to build up a finisher, so when your finisher is actually hit it means something. That would eliminate 4-5 minute matches.

 

And people keep claiming well kicking out makes it competitive.

 

The moment you step in the ring its competitive, being able to kick out of 4 finishers doesn't mean your a good player, it means you can mash buttons or time a release.

 

That's what I would do if I was setting this up, I haven't tried messing with the stats to see if it would actually work, but that's my hypothesis on what would be balanced and fair.

Definitely agree, it's like ranked someone does a fin. and you kick out then they constantly keep pinning you because eventually you wont get that kick out, your opinion makes alot of sence..
