Smythe D. Wonder Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 If I dont have to do it how come you do? The only time its understandable is when its ABSOLUTELY necessary. Even then you could always just put a strike on your guy that goes that far(that elbow you have could work). I'm rewatching your match over and I see you reverse Lucas from the ground by an eye poke, you get up and run at him while he's still in animation, stop, and grapple. Thats what I mean by unnecessary. Or that time you reversed his second corner strike ran at him then did a strike combo. You were literally a foot away from him, you coulda just struck him without even moving or at least walked forward. The only reason I could see anyone doing that is to throw off someones timing in little league fashion. Don't get all pissy with me man. We're all friends here. I'm not trying to single you out here or bash on you specifically because I know there are a few people who use that "tactic". Try doing a couple dm's without running like that.. because from what i've seen you havent had to do it at all. Your reversals are enough self defense. That's like the first verse in the bible of my playing style... Dash n attack... Mainly because it throws reversal timing off and stops the back and forth waiting game... Also annoys people who wait on the reversal trigger all match... (I do it to Trevor consistantly)... Also factor in that there's only one reversal trigger this year and a crazy open window to counter and skipping is almost more an advanced play technique then a tactic... Basically... This game suck so bad that you need to do things to keep it interesting!!! Also GREAT show for no match card... Can we get one of those for this week please!!!! Trevor McManus Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 (I do it to Trevor consistantly It doesn't fucking work though does it? :p Hostile. If you want confirmation that this playing style is necessary/fine go watch the Lution main even from last year. http://positivesharing.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/complaining.jpg [23:39] locoNY911: You get solace in the fact you arent a fuck up. 2k9's better than 2k8. Tiberius Dupree Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I'm pretty sure using the same tactic over & over because it benefits you is called being cheezy. Especially if your opponent has no chance to counter or reverse it. But i say if I reverse you, then its your fault not mine lol "You either die a hero or live long enough to become Nate Ortiz" - Drago Cesar "Let me make myself clear: you work for me. If I tell you to fight Blaine, you fight Blaine. Hell, if I tell you to fight a lion, you WILL fight a lion and still thank me afterwards for giving you a job." - Mr. Sensation
Useless Dane Xavier Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I don't think it's cheesy, it's not like it's irreversible or anything, all it does is throw off ones timing. Isn't that what we strive to do anyways? I call it taking advantage of the situation. If I have an opportunity to do something I'm going to get there to do it as efficiently as possible. Whether you're 5 feet away from me after a reversal or whether you're on the ground. And FFS, it's not like I do any running moves anyways, if I do it's part of a chain. For example: Chain grapple, elbow strike attack + running elbow/running pullback attack elbow + pick up chain grapple elbow to the face Chain grapple, belly to belly + running german/push After I do those two chains I don't do anymore running moves, same goes with my srike combo, you see it once and done. My chains are easy to learn and reverse, just do some scouting like Tibby Dibby does and like Mayhem does and you wont have any problems. I hate when show discussion turns into complaining about one's tactics. I'm a fair player, if I feel I'm doing something wrong I always back off, even if you don't think it's wrong. Anyways, more about the show. 1 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g289/jlethridge1/DaneCard.jpg http://wrestlinglol.com/photos/14n34sp.gif
K.Dangelo Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Again The Lotus Gang is the best . Jaysin should just let us do our own match card for both shows .Unless he wants a champion to defend his title . Smythe D. Wonder Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I like having a match card personally... So we get to look forward to watching matches... Also if you did the same thing over and over dupree it wouldn't work... That's why it's a strategy... Easy enough to stop... You just have to attack instead of Whoring the reverse trigger... It technically only works against people who wait to counter instead of attack when someone gets close!!! Smythe D. Wonder Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 it's worked on you for years Trevor... just not so much this year because this game is painfully easy... Trevor McManus Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Sick of people saying that. The best from 2010 are still the best this year. The only difference is you lost quick grapples, some people have adapted, others haven't. 1 http://positivesharing.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/complaining.jpg [23:39] locoNY911: You get solace in the fact you arent a fuck up. 2k9's better than 2k8. Leon Valentine Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Not to be a dick but I do kind of agree with Smythe. Some people just sit back all match and wait for you to hit a move. This is why I have nothing against the running and stopping tactic. I used to do this in past games where all people would do is moonwalk all match. However that tactic doesn’t work well in this game. It’s a race between mashing that A button or tylering someone constantly.
