I love Asylum , usually doesn't get as much attention like Riot but some guys ( few) put in the work .

 

I guess guys feel if they aren't booked they shouldn't put in any effort or content but so be it . So enough about that on to the show .

 

Enjoyed my match with Romero again thanks for another great match .

 

Arnaud and Ali put together what I thought was a nice rp and match .Music thought yall like that .

 

Dane I don't know what to say . I thought he was gonna get on the right track and I liked the attire on Riot .

 

Dimsmore I thought he hovered a couple of times too many . I thought Jook was still gonna take the W but Dims wanted it more , very good match .

 

McGee and Gibbs had a fantastic match . Sean gave his all but that damn Gibbs should be a World title contender .

 

Thank you Steve , even though I don't like you either .

 

Again short and awesome every week Asylum takes a backseat to nothing .

Asylum Review:

 

The show begins with Mr. Romero. Now I figure he's this ultimate underdog, I mean that was his reasoning for having comeback even though he shouldn't right (that's a rule right? Only champs can have it), but then he makes the fans hate him. You can't say he's wrong though. He's a lightweight Ex style wrestler who keeps getting matched up against behemoths. He's matched up very well against K.D. however, managing to go 1 for 2. I think he'll stack up pretty well against Gibbs for the Hardcore title, though I don't expect him to come away with the championship. Good RP though.

 

Not to be rude, but I felt like I needed a translation for Ali's translations. "In some way I wronged you? I know that we have to face each other is not only for no ill will to show that there is a need to." what is that second sentence? I honestly didn't understand it.

 

The match, well I think that it's funny because for some reason when I play the match I get slight feedback that actually sounds a bit like the chirp of a cricket. The match was pretty good though. Not surprised that Arnaud picked up the win.

 

It appears K.D. may be going soft, this may be just the edge I need to pick up the win and keep my singles streak going. Thank you Djesus ;).

 

As I said earlier, Terry has been doing very well against K.D. For a large portion of this match I thought he was going to pull out a second win. It was a very close match, where K.D. had to pull out the Black Rack to put Romero down. Must have been a nice change of pace for K.D. with an opponent so much smaller I'm sure he was able to just destroy Romero's back.

 

I know who this promo's for, but I don't feel like giving it away so...

 

I'm not going to try and argue against the fact that Dane's RP was repetitive, but I will say that I don't see a huge problem with it being so. This happens in real wrestling all the time (not that that's a great excuse because wrestling has been on a decline for almost a damn decade, though I think it's finally hitting an incline). I mean look at it this way, it wouldn't do very much good for Dane's point of giving back to have only given back to the audience for one week. Seems stupid. He changed it up in editing in some traditional (or as traditional as WWE '12 may let it be) garb. And lets get to the real point here, you don't have to read his stuff, you really don't, it's crazy I know.

 

Jookie vs Dimsmore didn't seem to be back and forth AT ALL. It was all Jookie in the beginning and pretty much all Dimsmore at the end there. K.D. brings up the point that Luke was hovering. I'd hover too. Look at the man's character, he's deranged, he's violent, he's an ASSHOLE. It's quite easy to deal with hovering this year, and if it adds to his character in ring (because it's awesome when people show character in ring as well) then I really have no problem with it. Adapt and beat him anyway. It was a very good match, and one that Jookie looked to be able to put away at any time, I don't understand why you held your finishers in your pocket for so long, but whatever.

 

I also thing that the Stump Puller is fantastic on Luke. I hope Kent's right about why people no sell it, because now I know not to tap early if I ever fight Dimsmore, cause it looks AWFUL when people just pop up like they flipped on through the move entirely.

 

Before I start giving my thoughts on the main event, I need to say two things:

1. I see what you did OCW, a hardcore ref for the hardcore title. Good thinking, those normal, run of the mill, referees get knocked out far too easily. This guy was trained to stay out of the way, smooth.

 

2. Our cam ninja was very obviously modeled after the Black power ranger (ninja version) http://rangerarchive.com/MMPR3/Giant%20Black%20Ninja%20Ranger.jpg. And I'm digging it, probably made it pretty easy to find his costume. Though I'm surprised they have it in size heterosexual (just joking, I was a ninja when I was younger for Halloween).

 

I like Sean McGee alot, his work is fun to read, and it would appear he's being tutored by Leon. He got kind of dominated by Gibbs though. I knew when you all brought the stairs into the ring that they were going to be doing more damage than either of you would do, and I was right. I think this match, along with the great adventures of Jookie Marley, proves that Jay needs to sponsor a workshop for the roster on the do's and don'ts of working with foreign objects. OCW cannot be an unsafe work place any longer!

 

The contract signing reminded me of one of the things that I like most about OCW, everyone seems to be smart when it comes to picking theme songs. The Fire is obviously great for Dupree, and The Steve's song I think is spot on as well. Also, I knew we hadn't seen the last of Captain Charisma Dupree.

 

I think that we all should have seen the cutter coming from The Steve because the man has what may be his last shot at the crown jewel of OCW, he's a desperate man if you ask me. But it may not have been the right move to make. Many people seem to make the mistake of stoking the fire when they really wish to extinguish it, and The Steve may be no different. I suppose we will find out tomorrow night.

 

I'm very excited for Damnation. Great Asylum everyone.

The money drop for the second Asylum in a row... I know it's corny and cheesy in every way possible, but to an extent that's kinda the point, but there's more of a point to it that will soon revealed in the storyline I'm working on. It wasn't recycled, it was similar but it wasn't completely recycled. I wore a Japanese robe to the ring, dropped japanese money, and played japanese music... in Japan. If we go somewhere else, like the UK, I'll wear the jersey of everyone's favorite football player, drop Euros and play GOD SAVE THE QUEEN or something. This is an international event and should relatively make some sense.

 

I'm not selfish though, I will discuss other aspects of the show, or at least a couple others because I haven't watched the whole show yet.

 

Terry Romero's RP was great and a nice way to set up his rematch against KD. He's right though: Terry Romero for EX CHAMP!

 

I feel like Dorien Arnaud has been legitimized by teaming with Smythe, and their theme song is so catchy, I've had it stuck in my head for days! Arnaud's been working on his attire and moveset and I dig the look. Keep pumping out good content GUM. Tiger Ali is the most hilarious stereotypical Indian I have ever seen. I really like the character and moveset and hope that this guy is on the shows a lot.

Guess I'll do some Asylum comments.. Overnights BYTCH!!

 

-- No one is playing the David vs. Goliath role better than Romero. That match with him vs. KD was well played on both sides. They both stuck to what they were. Romero used his speed and quicks to get after the much larger KD. And KD did what you should do to a lightweight thats hippity hoppity all over the place. Grab and smash. Very good match.

 

-- Ali's entrance is long as hell. Glad to see he has a back up plan if this wrestling thing doesn't work out. Arnaud I guess is becoming OCW's New Jack with his theme playing thru half of the match. JOEY!!!! Budden made the match sound track and with one of my fav songs by him. If I ever started smoking cigs, I would blame that song. Ali's CAW is spot on, very well done. From the formula to attire.

 

-- The have a nice day promo was well done. But the news clips were so loud, I couldn't understand what the narrator was saying. And when I hear that theme I think of Smythe's Super Slow Mo entrance from '11.

 

-- Can't say I really understood where Dane was heading character wise. And I didn't like the theme choice when he made the switch from "Wanna be Famous". I first was under the impression that he was heading for the path of redemption. Which was fine. Then he started wearing the robe that was like that Sandow guy. So i don't know. Maybe just wanted some attention and knew someone would comment bout that. Any attention is not always good attention. Wish the kids at my school would learn that.

 

-- Jookie has fought the World Champ and International Champ is recent weeks. And If I may speak for Kent, we both were very impressed with Jook and his continued improvement. Not that we both expected for the matches to be complete squashes. But wasn't expecting the fight that he put up in both matches. And Kent, If I'm wrong please correct me. As for me, I never notice what I'm doing in a match or how I'm playing until after I watch it the completed for the first time. I know there's a fine line between staying on ya opponent and hovering. And, not that I'm making any excuses for myself, hopefully I can work that out in DM's to shy away from the hovering. Code Storm did bring up a good point as far as playing the character in the ring.

 

-- Main Event time. OG and McGee put on a very good match. I lost it when the ref was perched on the top rope for no apparent reason. Then when OG when for his 5 Knuckle sig and tripped on the steps. Or when the both of them fell over the steps. Felt like a real hardcore match. Not clean by any means. Botches and randomness. Gibbs is an animal on the sticks. He definitely has a unique style and doesn't let anyone get him off his game. That stubbornness will keep him the Hardcore champ for a long time.

 

-- If you've watched any kind of wrestling in your lifetime, you know that no in ring contract signing ever goes off without an altercation of sorts. This was no exception. I hate The Steve's theme. And by hate, I mean love it cause it's damn catchy but don't understand 85% of the words. So I find myself mumbling it to myself throughout the day. I'm sure coworkers of mine think I'm a lunatic. Anyway, I think I should list my top 5 cutter variations....

 

5) Kanyon Cutter

4) Ace Crusher

3) Diamond Cutter

2) Bubba Cutter

1) THE STEVE!!!!!!!

 

Plus I love that Bloom was mad on the outside of the ring when that happened.

 

Asylums are always short and to the point, this was no exception. Good job by all who contributed.

Already two great reviews up, just finished watching Asylum. Had two great matches with K.D this past two weeks. This one being my favorite, some great storytelling during the match. Wich leads me to "hovering".

 

I think in essence there is really nothing wrong it, if you moderate it. Like i said in some other post.

 

Grapple as you rise = 2 reversal moments

Pickup + Groggy Grapple = 1 reversal moment

 

It also depends on what you do when you "hover" grapple. When i play Terry, when i start to stick to my opponent i'm going to try and speed up the match , irish whip grapple, a dropkick, hurricurana..a rope dive attack. But when that moment ends or get reversed, i will go back to the letting people up and reset.

 

My rule of thumbs is kinda like this: If you grapple someone as your opponent gets up you can do two things.

A sequence > A move that will lead into something else ( Example back position: Dropkick to the back and go for an irish whip as a follow up and continue from there

A big move > A german suplex for example

When either are compleeted you go back to reseting and letting your opponent get up.

 

Taking the first 6 min of Dims vs Jookie, i really liked that Dims stuck with Jookie on a regular basis, as it really is a heelish thing to do,it told a great story. But if ya look at the match in its entire,it happend a little to much. But as Dims already said,he's going to work on it. So no biggy.
