Debate with the Devil: SPIDER's Rebuttal

As I sit here in my dorm room, smoking a cigar and browsing cougarlife.com, I will take a moment out of my extremely classy time to contribute to discussion.

Cerberus is proving week in and week out that they are a force to be reckoned with--easily dominating the shows with content and matches. In what very well may be the "Year of the Faction", does Cerberus lead the way?

Cerberus is an awesome faction, unlike many other failed factions they manage to maintain a presence even when they aren't booked with content. Just looking at the group though its not hard to believe, both Code Storm and Sean Mcgoo are work horses, and adding a "credible" (note the quotes) "legend" (again note the quotes) like Leonhart really draws attention to their work rate. Leon is pretty good at that, I remember three rookies who started a faction on Ambition that really got their careers going with the credibility that Leon added.

Ambition hit a slump a few weeks ago that continued for about three weeks… but under the leadership of their GM, Dick Blood, the rooks are REALLY taking ownership of their brand. Do you believe that with this renewed vigor, Ambition will soon be rivaling Riot?

As much as I'd love to say yes, I'm going to have to say no. Unfortunately I'm going to be the bearer of bad news and say Ambition is struggling and will continue to struggle unless we see more of what I go to Ambition to see, ACTIVE rooks NOT active main roster alts. However, there is hope, if this influx of rooks that have shown up over the weekend are as active as the mainstays we have now things will get better. However if it doesn't I say promote all the rooks and bring back Unleashed and/or Asylum for those un-booked on Riot,

Dimsmore may very well be one of the best guys on the roster (I only pick the baddest asses to leech off of--see Pato). This is a guy who could probably beat Parker for the title if he got a title shot on next week's show. So why then, oh why, is Dimsmore the one in the Low card facing the rookies?

I honestly have no idea, Dimsmore is the total package, reliable for content week in and week out, gets all of his matches in on a timely manner and all of them are of amazing quality, he's a monster on the sticks, I honestly think there are very few people who could consistently beat Dimsmore if anyone. What I'm effectively saying is PUSH THIS MAN TO THE MOON.

Tobin Frost has really impressed me in the last few weeks of Ambition. Is he in the upper tiers of Ambition guys at this point? And what is he missing?

Tobin Frost has quickly popped up on my radar as a reliable and consistent worker. He puts on good matches, and puts up content. In my opinion all he really needs is a few small tweaks to his attire and a good feud for him to really make an impact.

We finally have a solid Tag Team base, is it time for more tag team action!?

Yes

Has parker been a good champion?

Eh

Trance is on a roll! But in no direction. What's up with dat?

As I said with Tobing Frost, Trance just needs a good feud to push him over the edge.

My Thoughts:

No one really cares to be honest, people just wait for my reply : P

Well I guess since Suda went ahead and posted his Debate, I'll answer it and still put up my review tomorrow.

Is there a job Spider hasn't had in OCW? Since he debuted on Ambition, he's been a competitor, Ambition GM, Riot GM, Colored Comentary… I'm sure he's probably been on the Creative team and a janitor before as well.

Answer: To my knowledge, Spider has not yet held the position of OCW shoe shiner. I know that's not a position that many people seem to think of, but we do in fact have one. I let him take a look at my boots every single week, no matter how late I arrive to the arena. A man is only as prepared as his boots.

Cerberus is proving week in and week out that they are a force to be reckoned with--easily dominating the shows with content and matches. In what very well may be the "Year of the Faction", does Cerberus lead the way?

Answer: I also take the path of not answering questions about myself or my work.

Ambition hit a slump a few weeks ago that continued for about three weeks… but under the leadership of their GM, Dick Blood, the rooks are REALLY taking ownership of their brand. Do you believe that with this renewed vigor, Ambition will soon be rivaling Riot?

Answer: I don't want to put any of the rookies down, because I think Ambition is a quality show, and I think this past week showed that it's only getting better, but my answer is no it won't quite rival Riot. It's the same reason Smackdown will never really rival RAW, because RAW holds a place in the minds of viewers as bigger. whether that's fair or not, whether it's accurate or not, I think it's undeniable. I think Ambition will be a great show, and I think the discussion will only pick up from here on out, but I think Riot will always be seen as the bigger show. But I do see these rookies coming up to Riot and making big splashes.

Answer: Hands down Dimsmore is under-rated (which is funny because people's opinions of him are high, it's just his card placement that falters), and as Suda said, he is a legitimate contender to any championship, even Parker and his World Championship, and I'm not just saying that to get him to join Cerberus ( ;) ). But I think it was one of those things where management thought that Frost deserved a slot on the card due to his effort, and I think a match against Dimsmore is a reward in some ways. That may sound crazy because Dimsmore is intimidating in the ring, but if you can go toe to toe with him, even if you don't win, people's opinion of you stands a good chance of changing in a good way.

Tobin Frost has really impressed me in the last few weeks of Ambition. Is he in the upper tiers of Ambition guys at this point? And what is he missing?

Answer: From a win/loss standpoint, no. But this is OCW, and not some other place, and effort counts for more than almost anything else, so I would venture to say yes. Recently we have seen four rookies stand out (wouldn't you know it had to be four again), Michael Hollywood, Justin Raze, Eric Scofield, and Tobin Frost (with Chris Moore on the cusp), and while Tobin may not have as many wins as the other three, he has a great character, and great writing chops for the character. One thing I want to point out, Frost is great at clutch reversals, he's reversed at least one finisher in every match I've seen him in, he just isn't that great at mounting offense. I think he needs a little more ruthless aggression, I think that's the next big step for him, it doesn't need to translate in RP's because those are solid, but in the ring you have to pick up the pace a little bit to be successful in today's game.

We finally have a solid Tag Team base, is it time for more tag team action!?

Answer: Well obviously. I know most look at MIA tag team titles and say, "why bother?" but I think people need to see it as a chance to make a name for themselves and position themselves in the next title match. The A-Team is dominant, trying to make a name for yourself is hard all the time, but doing it with such a dominant team riding rough shot over the division is harder. With them out of the way for now, make a name for yourself, seize the opportunity, and be the big team, the big A-Team foil, to take them on when they come back. For the love of GOD someone make me care about the division!

Has parker been a good champion?

Answer: Parker has been a fantastic champion, I don't think anyone can dispute it. Dominant in the ring and a presence each and every Thursday night. I just can't wait to see what he and Jay have cooked up now, and I want to see a new match up for the man.

That was fast, huh?

Answer: It should never have come to that. Smythe and Valmont should feel pretty shitty for jumping ship like that. Well, Valmont should at least, I don't think Smythe jumped ship, he's just often MIA.

Pugh and Dupree have been butting heads quite a bit lately… In the bathroom, with children, even in the ring. Could this all be leading to something on the way to Wrestlution?

Answer: If I weren't so Jewish I'd put money on it. And I think it'll be a great feud. One that fans were kind of teased with when Team OCW was brought about, except both of them turned out to be good guys. Now we've heard Tibby say that Pugh flaked on him in the chamber, that he wasn't there to help him, to help OCW when he/we needed it, and I really hope they run with that.

I don't ask questions on my own match, but feel free to discuss.

Discussion: My ignorance is going to show some here, but I thought that Tyro was the evolution of Vega. Or that Vega was a preferred nickname, I didn't realize they were separate entities, so I NEVER saw this coming. It was a pretty mark worthy moment. the ending was pretty cool as well, but I'm not a crazy fan of yet another "?" ending with the Ex title. It was really cool though, so I can take it xD. The match itself was really fast paced, and flowed nicely. Just what you'd expect from these two, 10/10 would watch again (that's how my roomate phrases ratings, so I'm kind of ripping him off).

Business just picked up! But will O.G. come back as strong as he left? Will the strong man of the A TEAM lose a step?!

Answer: I don't think there should be any debate about this. O.G. has always been a force, no matter who he's playing as, and no matter what year it is. He may be a tad rusty, but I say give him two days and he's back to kicking ass and SUCCESSFULLY defending his title.

Anna Mosity and Eerie Sunshine are two of the more outspoken bombshells in the division, but business is picking up there too--more and more matches and more and more personalities. Should the Bombshells get their own title?

Answer: I very much agree. While I don't love that we seem to have 50 gazillion titles, I think any solid division needs its own championship, and the Bombshells are definitely their own division. It'd make feuds a bit more interesting is my guess.

What's his next move?

Answer: What any champion's next move is, you defend the title. The real question should be who steps up to the plate next?

Is Raze really the next in line?

Answer: I would tell you no. I like Raze, and he's won all of his matches thus far, but I think he has a few more wins to go to get there personally. Two weeks in doesn't seem like enough to me, but that's a personal opinion.

Why the hell aren't Cerberus coming out together?!

Answer: I won't discuss my own stuff, as I said earlier, but I will answer this one: I felt like each of us deserved an entrance on the grand PPV stage. That, and the fact that we each prefer our entrances to the tag team options. But that's why we wore the same colors, and I kept the theme rolling between our entrances, to show that solidarity.

Dupree comes up short in what will probably be his last shot at the title while Parker is champ. Whats next for the man who's been in the main event of every Pay-per-view for the past year?

Answer: I would have to guess a match an angle with Pugh. But at the same time, I'm not totally sure. Because unless Sensation turns on Dupree, which I don't see happening at this point in time, Sensation doesn't seem done with Parker. So I have a hard time seeing how Sensation will stay on Parker's ass with Dupree going else where for his matches. But I'm sure we'll find out. I'm pretty excited for Plan B (every time I say/write that I feel like I'm talking about the post coital contraceptive).

Frost vs Dimsmore was an excellent match, and one I'd definitely like to see again , could have gone either way, could Tobin have won if his finisher didn't turn into one of the funniest yet most ridiculous glitches I've ever seen in a game..who knows. But it was a great match.

Off to watch the other matches.

Sorry it was a late upload that night, and I kind of went absentminded I guess. I actually didn't realize until rewatching it with the show, that I had done that.
