Cody Storm Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I won't argue with you the quality of my Role playing, I think some of it's decent. You don't, and that's O.K. Also, I like your role playing and stories, I just wish that you wouldn't run such long ones if the matches are such foregone conclusions. That's just my opinion.
Bobby Minio Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 You're missing the point of what I was illustrating in that sample of Bobby Minio, Son of Someone. The point is, when you're a creative person, creativity flows. I don't decide "I'm gonna drop a motherfucking two page bomb on these bitches!", I just start into a promo and it carries itself. If you want me to turn that off I'll turn that off but I can't sandbag my writing to meet the handicap of my work on the sticks, and quite frankly, that would be really fucking stupid. Does the WWE tell Bray "Hey man, settle down with those firey promos, your in ring work isn't matching it yet!", no, they have him cut promos and then they have a group that can protect him. Maybe you don't pay much attention to wrestling Cody, but Bray didn't wrestle any long matches, and wrestled very few matches on TV, for MONTHS. They got his in-ring product up to serviceable and now we're seeing Bray in the ring a lot more. Even before his knee injury, he was doing very limited in-ring work. We don't have that option here. So I just have to write my ass off until the thumbs can follow, otherwise, I'll just be another stale roster member begging for title shots. and we DONT need anymore of those. http://ocwfed.tv/recapppv/Awards%202k18/UpdateOTY18.png
Cody Storm Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 But that's not a fair parallel. His in ring work doesn't dictate whether he wins or not, it's scripted which means it's still interesting. I didn't know if The Shield or The Wyatts were going to win so it was interesting. I know you're going to lose to Suda 9.9/10 times so it's not interesting. It's more akin to this year's superbowl where everyone was like, "it's the #1 offense vs the #1 defense, it's going to be awesome!" Everyone talked a great game, and then the game was a major letdown. And let us be clear here, no one should be begging for title shots unless they've earned them and have been kicking ass.
Matsuda Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 And my two cents on the matter, Pugh's character has been the same since he came back, and he was garbage for the first year or two on the sticks. Now he's a beast and we all forget that. You gotta start somewhere! As for his title shots, the way the story worked out is that Matsuda literally gave a title shot to the winner of Minio/RK three months ago, picking the winner assuming they would be the best competition. Minio loses, and Matsuda wants nothing to do with him. The HC title is basically given at random, and Minio managed to win a triple threat, and is then able to bring something that would compell Matsuda to fight him again. Now, Matsuda wants nothing to do with him again! 1
Tobin Frost Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 In my opinion the build up is what does it for me. You can have a 5 star match, great but if it isn't built up right I don't become as invested. That's the thing about this place though we have the great writers and the guys who kill it on the sticks. The top guys do both. In a roster as thin as we have now we are going to have situations where the feuds look like squashes. But that .1% chance that the other guy can pull it out makes it interesting. For me it doesn't take away from everything that lead up if the guy loses. But we all have our own thoughts on what we enjoy. And we all do this for our own reasons so let's just keep on going. 2 http://www.ocwfed.net/recapshow/special/OCW%20Awards%202013/BESTMOVESET.png http://www.ocwfed.net/recapshow/special/OCW%20Awards%202013/rookieoftheyear.png

Bobby Minio Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Ultimately, that's it. Winning or losing is just something that affects the story. Losing doesn't mean you're not telling a compelling story. http://ocwfed.tv/recapppv/Awards%202k18/UpdateOTY18.png
Pugh Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Ultimately, that's it. Winning or losing is just something that affects the story. Losing doesn't mean you're not telling a compelling story. Bobby your logic is terrible. The only way to earn anything in OCW is to win every match and quickly as possible. This is why you fail. Cody, while we're on the subject, how can you claim to have earned anything... You just had to piggyback a bombshell match because nobody wants to work with you. Real talk. 2 No.
Bobby Minio Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 My favorite parts of the PPV so far are Minio being murdered by Matsuda, Tyga's Promos, Cut-Throat, outcome of Tibby/Mugen's drag race, Tobin promo + match, "COUNSELOR!!!!", Main event and more theatrics. http://ocwfed.tv/recapppv/Awards%202k18/UpdateOTY18.png
