The Guy Fausto
THe night before, or the last night you're availible is the latest I replace. If I really think I'm going to have trouble getting it done, I'll do a replacement and still try to get the original done.
The Steve
If on Sunday (assuming the show is on Monday) you still haven't done the match yet, then that is the time to look for a replacement. Anytime before and you're just being pushy. Quote Sensation: "I'm an ignorant hispanic."
Deano Horse
This is something that needs to be looked at more, we're (Europeans) forced to stay awake longer than we should because some people (Americans) don't get online untill late evening EST time. Sure they have there own reasons for it, but it's extremly stressful for us having to stay awake untill 1 or 2AM to finish a match we may lose because we're tired at the time. Maybe having the match in the morning EST time would help out a little, who knows. All I know is, something has to be done about it. It makes it even harder if your opponent doesn't show up and then decides not to give you an explanation until late Sunday. My match against Poison I was up until 1am. Against Double A gone 1am. Every match I have I make the effort to stay up late, usually on work nights. You guys don't usually have to do that. Nate Ortiz
Here is how I have gone about doing my matches. When we set a time, if I can't make it I let my opponent know. We work out another time or decide together to get replacements. If my opponent no shows, and contacts me we work it out the same way. But if my opponent dosn't contact me when he no shows me I will find someone else and do a backup match. If you miss the planned date it is your responsibility to contact your opponent in a timely manner and set up a new time. If you don't do that its on you. I never find staying up late sometimes a problem if i am not in work the next day. But just depends on what times people can. But what Nate just said is what i would do if in them situations. Maybe having the match in the morning EST time would help out a little, who knows. All I know is, something has to be done about it. I've had past matchs where I have had to stay up to around this time and both of them i've had to have my alarm go off every hour to stop my falling asleep and to stop this from happening again, if I face someone in America i do the matchs on Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday at earliest convienice because I can stay up till gone 1 a.m knowing I dont have to wake up 5/6 hours later to get ready for work. Something has to be done if possible and back to the contacting argument.... if Deano sent messages and got no reply, its not his fault. IMO I always try to contact my opponent as soon as I read the card or the day after, but sometimes RL stuff gets in the way of doing this. Seth Morrison
Here is my two cents. If Deano found a replacement, due to him not wanting to run around sunday like a chicke with his head cut off ,thats his deal. He made an effort to submit a match. If EA had such a problem, then he could do a replacement match. So what you now have two matches, instead of one. More of a treat for us who watch it. If it were me, i would find a replacement. If its two or three days before hand, id let the person know it might not make it to this show, but we will sure submit it on a show were both not on. Easy solution peeps. I dont see how Deano is dissrespectful or classless. Administrators Mr.Sensation Posted October 23, 2007 Administrators Share Posted October 23, 2007 pretty much spot on have yoru shit ready just in case worse case scenario you have a match done you can use at a later date. On the subject of europeans I am well aware of the timezone diffrerences this is why we try to give you guys as much time as possible by getting the cards our early so you have enough time. We even go as far as to try to keep guys in a shorter time line IE PST, concurrently we also try to book to provide the least amount of stress. IE 2 europeans vs 2 USA guys with flexiable scheduals.
