Noob question. Not intended to be sarcastic either. How else do you get someone to the ropes for a finisher like that other than walking them there or striking them to be dozed against it?

 

Perform a wake up taunt, cancel it, grab them and drag them over. Yeah, it's basically the exact same as what Kassidy did, except it follows FPR.

So I'm just putting this out there, Kassidy hit an illegal finisher on Bobby to win the match.

Just because you walked him over to the ropes first doesn't make it ok dummy.

 

I'm not too salty because I was really playing like shit that night and I was losing that match regardless but good eye and good lesson going forward in the FPR department.

No..not at all, that's still against FPR..don't think you being sly just because you cancel the wake up taunt and don't follow through with a finisher afterwards, I've noticed a few people doing that this season thinking they get a free 'pick up' out of it.

To answer your question Dennis, you can grab your opponent [tap a] when both standing, and walk him over and put him on the ropes.

 

If Kass would have done a normal move instead of his finisher then that would have been fine, as it would basically have been a pick up > Groggy, but pick up > Finisher = no no.

How else can you hit a fun like that other then bashing strike when near a rope? I suppose when your both standing you could grapple drag with an awkward fin like that I don't know.

It depends entirely how you look at it, he's performed a wake up taunt to get him up to his feet, as per the rules so it's not a pick up into a finisher situation. He's then cancelled the wake up animation and performed a reversible non damage grapple to then change his position. Then he still has to hit the finisher.

You can also whip them to the corner and reposition them to the middle from there.

But picking up whipping into corner then dragging then hit fin is 3 4 chances to rev pick drag to middle is 1 2 wake up taunt is 1 chance to rev I know pick up fins is no no but in the instance of a rope fin I'm not seeing it in the same light since at minimizing you have 2 chances to rev where as standard normal fin is 1 chance.

But you can't have special rules for certain things, you gotta have a blanket surely, otherwise multiple people will just change to a rope fin.
