Valkyrie Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I wish I could've joined the podcast, maybe next time I can contribute if you need a third opinion. I wrote a little review, since we never had a proper thread I figured I should post it here Terra/Kat I was rooting for Terra for multiple reasons. KD isn't easy to wrestle, he's a very aggressive player (too aggressive sometimes?), Terra somehow managed to overcome the odds and got a very important win. The ending was very well edited, but at the same time our meta kinda ruined it because the VP went "a finisher wasn't hit!" instead of "Wow, Terra stole that one!" It's really nobody's fault, sometimes we should all just turn off our brains and enjoy the kayfabe more. It's nice to see some extra effort from the handlers anyway. Fury/Aerith Both had different attires/caws. Not gonna lie, I liked the previous Constance a little bit more, I really felt like she was one of the best PS4 caws in the entire roster. I'm not a huge fan of the new version, but it's just my personal preference. I don't know what to say on Aerith, the face looks better this year but I liked the season 13 attire more. The match itself was solid, a kickout always helps with the drama and it never felt like a one sided contest. Disappointed not to see Alexa, I hope she gets booked more often now since Kasstianity is probably the most over faction in OCW. Ahsley's promo Kinda biased here, but I agree with the podcast when they say the effort from Ashley should be noticed and it was noticed not just by them but by everyone else as well. Blain/Bertha This was a lot better than expected for a bunch of reason. First of all, most of the animations were on point, immovable object finally worked as intended and that alone helped a lot with the overall look of the match. I really like Blain this season, last year she was just kinda there, this year she has a gimmick that works, it's pretty over and now she even has her own merch which is always a nice touch Four way We talked a lot about the cosplays, honestly I always liked the idea from Otakru even though the point Pugh and Jake made is true. At the end of the day, this new gimmick was an attempt to allow Gooch and Bray to do something they legitimately enjoy and I can still see the cosplaying working with some adjustments and some limitations. Even though I never get the references, it's intriguing to see how they dress up every week as it shows effort and dedication. The only concern is that you should get to a point where the viewer says "That's X dressed as Y" rather than "That's someone dressed as Y" The match itself was fun, even though I was disappointed to see Ashley eliminated first. The story told was simple yet convincing. Congrats to Dragana for the win, it was possibly the hardest title defense to this day :D Main Event I agree with most of the things you said about it and I'm glad it was received positively for the most part. We originally agreed on breaking out of the cell before ending the match but the feedback I got from DN made me change my mind. I told Doc that I was going to play without planning, with the "whatever happens, happens" and "no redos" state of mind and that we were going to adjust the angle in case the cell did not break. I tried to escape twice, it didn't work and I had to go for the fin at that point. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to worked angles and scripted moments (Jake can confirm), I usually do whatever the other handler wants to. Unfortunately, breaking the cell this year, 99% of the times, requires you to waste a finisher which is something I would have done if I could've won the match off of it (Quartz mentioned the spot with Cobra, but I feel like the comparison is not completely fair because the AA through the table won you the match, me breaking the cell with Heather already red was just for the lols). Wasting a fin there basically meant either of us was going to lose the match and therefore, in my mind, it's sort of understandable, at least from a competitive stand point. That said, after the third attempt, we can now all agree stip matches are not my thing. :p 5 .

Moderation is fine but when it becomes the norm that's no good its that grey area A FINISHER was hit, but no one saw it. Did it happen like a bear shitting in woods or a tree falling down? Can't steer to close to full kayfabe we still a comp league but can't steer to far to LOL BUMP FINISHER RUSH either. Kassidy Hayes Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Well yea, I was hit up only at like 2am my time and days in between, which didn't work and the only time i got a normal time response quickly was when i said, match scrapped a day or two before deadline because I was being considerate of the people doing commentary and then the match that happened gets handed in on Friday and that's why we can't have nice things. People keep handing in as late as possible and make it cram sessions for them and it will get burnt out and tired of it. That said, after the third attempt, we can now all agree stip matches are not my thing. :p Its not everyone's thing, I'm fucking awesome at them
H20_ Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 I went against my own grain and left the horns on to implicate she’s fully possessed by the demon. After actually doing the match my inner self said, “SELF, that just looks ridiculous!” Usually I do a demo match after I create my attires to see what it looks like in the ring and didn’t do it this time for Heather. Thank you for the critique fellas. It’s noted. 1 I'M THE PAST THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE! http://ocwfed.tv/miscpics/Kass_event_badge_2020.png
