I understand there is a lot of history to reflect on. As I said before when you expect people to read/watch all of the past content you are setting a high barrier to engagement. I don't understand the IC reasoning behind that because you want to make your product accessible to audience members new and old. Especially when all it needed was a sentence or a paragraph at most. The OOC reasoning is more baffling; as a league we want people to take part, to understand what's going on and enjoy it but people think that players who haven't been around as long should go beyond what it takes to be active in order to understand what's going on if it started before they joined.

The placement of the Kass/Horse segment for me is a matter of pacing the show. The main event is the main event. The people involved built it towards a crescendo because they thought they were on last. A segment then came along that took all the wind out of the sails when people were ready to leave because they believed they'd seen the main event. It wasn't a surprise return as both Kass and Horse have returned recently so there's no surprise factor. It's hard to critique what the main event segment people could have done differently because the segment that followed it was not objectively superior. I didn't watch it and think "Yeah that definitely should have gone on last." It was a slow segment. Horse had a full entrance for a promo face-off and in the past we've seen people told to cut their entrance when it's for a promo - that should have been the case here. They talked at each other, didn't scrap and didn't really say anything we didn't already know. It would have made more sense as a written RP.

You are not wrong about making things accessible to the audience new and old. I feel like we've done that here and there, but not every single segment needs a lore dump or needs to be over explained, in my opinion. If you're keying in on Rusts' one comment, one that - to rusts point - is probably the largest major plot point that does not need overexplaining. The general sentiment is right, but there's a balance you need to strike between appealing to the new viewer and respecting the history/long term viewer by not dropping 4 years worth of exposition on their head in every segment.

I don't understand the outrage about Kass/Blacksmith, a feud that's been brewing since Blacksmith was a wee lad and has "attraction" all over it. It was fun and I was angry that I didn't realize there was a final segment. It was fun, who cares lol

RE Your comments about the Terra/Sue segment, I think the nature of watching every single pro wrestling segment with the goggles of "who is elevating/who is benefiting" is a shrewd smart fan way to view things and can distort the enjoyment sometimes. The premise was to introduce a minor side-conflict on the overarching story of wedding planning and the surprise of the equally southern, older woman being supportive and progressive was the point. The entire point of the entire series of RPs is to drive forward Terra/Sue's relationship. Minor/side characters don't always have to benefit or get pushed. That might just come down to differing mindsets when watching, so there's not a lot I can do to counter that concern.

Appreciate all your feedback as always!

The point you are missing here is that it is not the center of that 4 way feud, it is a nice little callback

Regarding the Rust/Quartz thing, while I rarely find l o r e a convincing argument for why something is rich and multilayered, this is pretty key. Tony's little bit earlier in the RP outlines the premise of the feud for people who aren't in the know, and then there's some extra context dotted around for those who are. I always see Lution as a celebration of OCW, it's the place where people can line up the stories that alienate some people with years of lore and pay off stories they've wanted to finish for ages. I fully expect to have several segments that make me feel like I have no clue what's going on, and as I result, I probably won't care as much as others about them, but there's other stuff on the show that'll shape the future, not everything has to be for everyone. In this particular RP though, while Rust saying he's gotta beat Quartz and then everyone else seemingly going 'alright then, onto the next character' might read weirdly, it's (ironically) sold by Quartz absolutely no selling it, which in turn forces Rust to show his arse a bit, as people aren't acting like his insults are really doing anything.

Horse/Kass, meh, I don't mind it. I do think it's a shame that the 'fade out brawl' after the main event gave the show a definitive end, and then there was more, so it sort of made Horse/Kass feel like a post-credits scene. Then again, maybe that's a good way of putting it, the segment was far slower paced than what preceded it, and as there are several people saying it shouldn't have closed the show because they didn't feel it surpassed the main event, the main event itself wasn't necessarily undermined by it. No real harm done, the Carnivore entrance was a nice moment, and it'll be a fun time on Lution. And if it's not a fun time, it's one match in a longer show, no need to think about it after it's done if it wasn't your thing.

Anyway, adding onto this, strong show all round. In terms of writing, I'm really enjoying the Terra/Sue stuff at the moment, and the catering promo might have been my favourite written RP on this show, you can feel the character just dripping out of every word, and I'm here for it, it's exactly the sort of thing that makes reading the werdz worth it, don't miss out.

On the other hand, I'm kind of less convinced by Owen's characterisation coming into the match with him and Reese. Personally, I think the premise is sold by these guys just being meaty bois who are gonna just run into each other, and now I'm starting to read Owen as a heel, there's just something not aligning for me. It'll be a fun match, regardless, and I think there's a lot of ways it can go with Owen finding and defining his identity as a single's competitor, but Reese's title reign still has a lot in the tank, and I really like how it feels that Jamie's trying to give this title a strong identity as a 'big meaty men' division.

Also, fuck me, Marcus is drinking a potentially magic potion that'll turn him (maybe? I hope so) back into the original sized Marcus, this is exactly the sort of content I come here for, and I really hope everyone joins in to sell how mysteriously huge he's gotten out of nowhere.

My segment of the night, as silly as it is, was John Carter getting his arse kicked, Ry's really dining out on the fact he's figured out how to do intergender stuff, and I like John's willingness to be the butt of a joke, it's the perfect fun segment to go into a celebration like Lution.

Overall, the matches were strong, and there were several incredibly strong matches that were tainted by FPR breaks, I think Joe and C Note was a solid match with a few strange edits, Claudio and Derek was a great time until some weirdness crept in towards the end, and Jasmine got a solid showcase in the women's tag, complete with her starting up a new meme, and the playing on Ted not calling the ropebreak was a really nice addition from a roleplay point of view.

Also, I'd like to thank everyone in the 6 man tag for somehow sorting it all out despite this being the one week I wasn't available in the US time, and for everyone who went along with my stupid idea to make a show-wide sub-plot about the elevator being broken, was fun being a part of this week.

The dynamic of the Owen Reese feud has been difficult in all honesty.

Reese is one of the biggest baby faces in the company, he’s blue eyes through and through, but he’s against an honorable but passionate foreigner.

Is Owen the heel? Possibly in the US of A, but he got under Reese’s skin and in his head. Reese has been sharper, meaner, heck, he lost his head and took a swing.

I’m amazed that’s not being picked up on more.

Also how deep are these bags y’all have lads? I need a new one for my football stuff as my boots stink.

Horse and I are the special fucking attraction, as jake already said, We barely around and don't need to be and hes amped for it. We don't need a title, we don't need elaborate bs, its a match built in the background since horse's ill advised call out turned into gold. Jay can put what ever he wants where ever he wants and only the insecure will complain. I didn't complain when KD and I didn't main event lution, i knew my place yall bitches will learn yours.

now go refresh your videos to up your count to be above mine.
