DastardlyDaxLee Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) Darkness. Then red strobes begin to pulse slowly, revealing the silhouette of a lone figure sitting backward on a steel chair in the center of the ring. The arena is empty. Silent. He’s wearing a cut-off black tee, red-and-black camo pants, and scuffed red Jordans. A bandana tied around his forehead holds back long, black, sweat-damp hair. His arms are sleeved in faded, chaotic tattoos—ink that tells stories he doesn’t. Dax Lee: You don’t know me. Dax Lee: You’ve never seen me headline a pay-per-view. Dax Lee: Never bought a shirt with my name on it. Dax Lee: Never heard the crowd scream when my music hits. Dax Lee: That’s fine. Dax Lee: Because I didn’t come here to be seen. Dax Lee: I came here because for most of my life… no one looked. He leans forward, elbows on his knees. The mic hangs from his hand like a weight. Dax Lee: All I ever heard was “can’t.” Dax Lee: Can’t make it out of where you came from. Dax Lee: Can’t wrestle like those guys. Dax Lee: Can’t hang with the veterans. Dax Lee: Can’t outwork the system. Dax Lee: Can’t break into this company. Dax Lee: OCW is supposed to be the pinnacle, right? The apex. The place the best claw their way to eventually… And when I got here, before I even stepped through the curtain, I heard it again: Dax Lee: “Hall of Fame? Yeah, right. Not you.” He laughs—but it’s dry, bitter. Not a punchline. A scar. Dax Lee: But here’s what they didn’t see— In another life, I was on top. I held multiple championships at the same time… Dax Lee: Tapped out the man who raised me with fists, not love. Dax Lee: Broke records. Broke people. Broke myself… And none of it changed anything. He finally stands. The chair scrapes as it falls backward behind him. Dax Lee: I’m not inspired by doubt. I’m not fueled by it. Doubt didn’t motivate me—it hardened me. Dax Lee: Because the truth is, the world’s not out here trying to lift you up. It’s waiting. Just waiting for you to fall… so it can laugh. So it can remind you where you belong. Dax Lee: And right now? That’s all I see in this place. Dax Lee: Champions who’ve gotten too comfortable on their thrones. Fans too quick to write off the new name. A locker room full of eyes that say, “He won’t last.” Dax Lee: Keep watching… Because I’ve already outlived the narrative once before. Dax Lee: And I didn’t come to OCW to be loved. I came to make everyone regret overlooking me in the first place. Dax Lee: The spotlight? It doesn’t scare me. Because I’ve lived in the dark long enough to know how to make it mine. He drops the mic at his feet. The red light snaps off. Blackout. Edited May 6 by DastardlyDaxLee Needed a rewrite 5 1
Administrators BASH Posted May 6 Administrators Posted May 6 Pretty good first promo. Make sure to Bold your name on the speaking parts. I would stop leaning on past promotion history as it means nothing to me personally and many others in here. Calling out the champions is overly bold for this promo, please don’t expect it to go anywhere. Just keep working on stuff and you’ll get there.
